When the religious cult of man hating claims society is patriarchal and needs to be "smashed", all they mean is, "give us money and power and you do all the dirty work".

And they don't mean taking away anything from women, only giving them more privileges.

Outcome?

Massive support for women who didn't get flowers after a date, and zero support for men with actual problems. And I say actual problems, because women have so many resources their problems become...watered down. Men instinctively know just talking isn't going to solve anything, so wait until there's actual problems.

Psychology and therapeutic care is almost exclusively designed by, and for, women and their real (or imagined) problems. That's a big problem with therapy, is that the "techniques" are basically designed on what makes women feel good and write a check (talking endlessly to be "heard") and not to provide solutions.

The entire cult of therapy is not about solutions. In fact therapists can't really give you solutions. You have to discover them entirely in your own mind. They can sort of point you in a direction and give you a "path" of sorts and resources, but they aren't going to sit you down and say, "Look, here's what you need to do."

That's a no no. Why? That solves things. And what do women universally hate? Solutions to things. That's why you hear the yammering about "mansplaining" and "stop trying to fix me!" and "I just want to vent! I don't want solutions! Hear me roar!"

Therapists aren't allowed to provide solutions, just tools for you to help yourself. Basically a self-help book where someone reads it to you.

Childhood trauma is a hard thing to get over and just yammering on about it over and over and over going no where is great if your brain is entirely filled with hamster droppings and a wheel for one to spin.

Men, being more solution oriented, get less out of traditional therapeutic models and would probably be better off talking to bartender or go to a group of male survivors.

As much as the religious cult of man haters hate it, men need male only spaces to talk about their issues and exchange ideas, but you can see just how much they prefer book burning instead because, well, they're filled with hate.

There needs to be far more male therapists and counselors, but they're kicked out of that just like male teachers are kicked. They don't want them there. A woman might not end up financially profiting from it.

A woman therapist has basically zero idea what guys go through, and to admit boys suffer childhood trauma might shine a nasty light on mothers, and as I'm sure you are aware, women are perfect and boys have cooties.

If you can, try and go to maybe an actual psychiatrist, or find a generalized male therapist. And only male therapists.

I'm sure there are some female therapists that can help you, but the probability is low. She's from the womb of academia and pussy worshipping, the odds of her understanding anything is near zero, and most likely politically indoctrinated to hate you anyway.

So try and find a male one.

Psychology is about women. They give a nod to PTSD here and there, but then that's mostly about women these days, the true victims of war. Also, the psychology of why all men are abusers and rapists, because we all know that's something that needs to be worked on.

If it's any consolation, I've got a bit of insight into this. Men are a gender minority in "therapist", and a LOT of female therapists don't like seeing and avoid men if they are able to do so....for ANY reason...also there is a bias against "scary" and "difficult"...a thing went around a while ago that they need to keep and try to help their suicidal clients (male and female) instead of being a pansy candy ass and just referring them out as almost all were because they aren't "pleasant" to deal with.

MOST of them actually are (In addition to 'delicate', hyper-neurotic, if not themselves "batshit crazy") spoiled prima donna princesses-as they've got minimally a masters degree and as women typically marry upwards, usually they've got a rich husband paying their bills so they are free to pick and choose clients, take on minimal workloads.... The therapists who WILL see men I'm sure tend to be swamped with men wanting and needing to see them.

Try maybe looking into Time Perspective Therapy. It's a bit of a niche thing, but it was pioneered by a man, Phil Zimbardo....I'd hope people who train in it are ummm more oriented to dealing with difficult things than your typical ummm "professional coddler"types.

I hear you.

I was physically assualted by my BPD wife, going back 15 years when we were still married.

I went to the courts to get an intervention order against her and was told by the Magistrate

"Domestic violence doesn't happen to men! It's the law!"

He was right about the second part. In Australia, specifically Victoria State, the law is written such that men are solely responsible for perpetrating domestic violence, and cannot experience it themselves.

I'm sorry for your experiences.

What you may find is that even if ir when you did find a suitable therapist, the set up would be still female oriented - tissues, comfy seats, face to face, ready for emoting.

Men I know find action based therapy more freeing, but to my knowledge no one has set up a therapy center at a gym...

I was in a similar boat when I sought out therapy a few years ago. Male survivors of sexual assault and abuse are entirely neglected by the system as a whole. It took me months to find a therapist and even then I feel like they could only really address the domestic violence and physical abuse. When the trauma I experienced as a child victim of sexual abuse came up they would always become visibly uncomfortable and try to move on very quickly.

Finding a friend who survived similar sexual abuse as a child helped more than my therapist ever did. She at least validated my experiences and listened.
