True, but a world where "rights" mean something can only exist when maintained by those who accept that they don't.
Rights aren't driven by faith. Believing in rights won't protect them.
They are constructed and protected by force of violence, and must be maintained.
Cars exist to ensure that we can go faster than our legs will carry us, but that doesn't mean they appear/work without effort.

I think you're right that I misinterpreted your meaning. The argument I was making was the second: rights don't exist outside of society's constructions.
I would disagree that that's irrelevant to modern society though:those constructions must be continually maintained and protected, sometimes by force. Some, myself included, would argue that they haven't been.
Edit/p.s.---what I meant w/ref to police/soldiers was that they maintain the constructions, and that duty is a de facto acknowledgment that they are, in fact, constructions.

I hate to use the word, but people seem to say right, when they mean privilege. Rights are a little more absolute.

Sorry but this essay just seems like a weak attempt to link conservative ideology with the manosphere.
True, freedom and rights are just mental constructs, but so are responsibilities and earning things (feeling entitled to something through hard work, investment).

i'll just say that superstition and it's organized, dogmatic derivative, religion, are inherently blue pill. these arguments aren't empirical. they are ideological and bent on rationalizing facts until they fit their ideal. all i see is a couple of hamsters running on a different type of wheel, but they're certainly free to do so.

I posted the article more for its outcome than for its argument. I personally agree with legendofpasta, but I am happy to promote any argument that will forward the truth.
