This post applies to both sexes, truth is universal

Here on theredpill I think I see the term "bluepill" being used all too often interchangeably with "beta." The same goes for "alpha" and "redpill." This can be confusing and it's really not very obvious to people who are reading theredpill for the first time what these terms even mean. Seeing as how the definitions on glossary are in need of improvement. I thought a proper explanation was in order of these two different sides on the coin of cognitive thought.

I think it's platitudinous to be using two different terms that mean the same thing. So let's set some clear definitions and not wallow in ambiguity.

Might I suggest when using these terms to describe an individual:

  • Redpill = "Unplugged," enlightened, informed, open-minded, someone who doesn't rationalize his/her behavior (or at the least is very aware of when they are hamstering)(people are very capable of hamstering on purpose)
  • Bluepill = "Plugged in," unaware, incognizant, close-minded, uses the hamster (especially unknowingly)

and just incase hamstering isn't clear, I'll use my favorite definition taken from the book linked below:

  • Hamstering = Emotional rationalization that does not have to be based on logic. But in other words:

The fact is that all people you meet have a high regard for themselves and like to be fine and unselfish in their own estimation.
A person usually has two reasons for doing something: one that sounds good/noble, and a real one. The subconscious will focus on the real reason while our cognitive minds, being idealists at heart, like to think of the motives that sound good/noble. Hamstering occurs when someone does something for the real reason but makes themself believe that they did it for a different more noble / less-selfish reason.

Here's why this is important:

I think to interchangeably use the term Redpill with Alpha is a logical fallacy because it assumes that all redpill people are alpha. There are plenty who are not alphas, even if they would like to be or are working to become that. There are also others who prefer to limit their romantic interactions and avoid the social hierarchy altogether to just focus on building up themselves (MGTOW) or (WGTOW). And there are also some people who are unplugged, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are using the information nor have the capability to.

Using the term Bluepill interchangeably with Beta is also false. It assumes there are no bluepill alphas, however a quick look at the prison system would disperse that. Many of these guys are still plugged in and ignorant of their actions having consequences. Just because their natural behavior attracts women does not mean they aren't hamstering everything they do. Dale Carnegie speaks in his book about some of the most notorious murderers and drug dealers hamstering that they were good people doing it "as a civil service."

PSA: You will find that the majority of people in life are hamstering bluepillers. Being redpill gives you an edge up on them, but it is up to you whether you want to use this power for good or for evil. Or the third option which is a mix of good and evil: to benefit yourself (selfish, ?evil?) and also benefit everyone else (selfless, ?good?) that crosses your path.
