I just finished watching Mud. It might appear to be a movie about a man on the run, but it's really a red pill flick.

The movie is about a teenaged boy's journey to the red pill. The boy, Ellis, starts the movie believing in love, romance and putting women on the pedestal. He watches the chaos women create, churning the world around them. His parents split up and he doesn't get to spend much time with his father. Indeed, his mother moves them away to the town, away from the only life they've ever known, seemingly on a whim. Then the boy falls for a girl only to watch her laugh at his feelings. Ellis looks up to Mud who in turn is in love. He loves a woman so much he kills for her and is forced to be on the run, only to have her discard him for a meaningless fling at a bar.

There's a neat parallel between women and snakes that shows their destructiveness. Once you're bit you're more vulnerable, one more bite will probably kill you and anti-venom won't save you.

Ellis sees a girl at the end of the movie and he looks at her, evaluating her beauty, but he isn't seduced by her. He knows who she is and what she'll do to him. He's taken the red pill.
