First off, I've been lurking here for about a month and a half. Hopefully I'm not too new. The lessons here are phenomenal and, though I've learned much, I'm glad to see there is still much to learn.

As some of you may know, Anita Sarkeesian, everyone's favourite person, was a guest on The Colbert Show this past Wednesday. This coming not too long after she denounced the show (#CancelColbert) because another feminist didn't like the way Colbert portrayed an Asian character on the show.

Naturally she is nothing if but full of crap the whole time being there, reiterating the same verbal diarrhea we've had the misfortune to hear a thousand times. I'm not sure what she was expecting but Colbert proceeded to grill her at 1000°F. Poking and pointing at all the weaknesses in her arguments with the usual biting satire. The USU shooting threat was completely glazed over, moving on to having her attempt to name 3 games of the supposed hundreds of games that match the "Male fantasy game" style. She fails to do so, instead trying to drag the whole sheet of wool (Sexism and Misogyny) and quickly throwing Grand Theft auto, a commonly berated game, for good measure. Most likely because she couldn't remember any of the offending games because her script for the show is written by someone else, Johnathan McIntosh, another guy lost to the cause.

Subject transitions to why mostly females are being "harassed" over Gamergate as opposed to males. The hamster begins to turn when she realizes that she pointed out how many types of games there are. Colbert takes the opportunity to hammer her into the dirt. She straw mans the Gamergate argument. When the subject moves to the corruption of games media, again alluding to it being an excuse to harass women (As if the all powerful Patriarchy needs an excuse).

Colbert concludes by asking, coyly, if a man is "allowed be a Feminist". With a brilliant and hypocritical, and entirely expected, reply from Anita: "Do you believe that Women should have equal rights to men and that we should fight for those rights? ...Then you're a feminist". As if she meant equality of opportunity, not of outcome and the like

The whole time it seemed that Steven was holding back a little bit, you can see it when it happens, because he realizes that he invited her and is being a little harsh. But is it really too harsh considering the allegations she is making against men and games? Perhaps to save face but whatever happens he handles well as expected as Anita is left to try and laugh everything off when she knows Steven bent over and pooped on her head.

Why would she attend the show? Because she thought a satire program would boost her image. Instead she ended up being revealed as a bit of a fraud. And while fanatics will obviously support her regardless, those on the fence who saw this I hope (also possessing so much as a hint of a rational mind) would be more inclined to go against. Hopefully this opens some blue eyes to the light as me seeing responses to the Quinnspiracy opened mine.

Another quick aside, /videos post of this video contained a comment from someone who was apparently in the crowd during the show. As per such a show, a lot of the interview was cut out, including some harder questions that were much more revealing, and after the show Anita was visibly disappointed with the results.

Just goes to show that when you go looking for attention in the wrong places, sometimes you get bit in the ass.
