Have you had sex?

You probably have HPV.

http://www.cdc.gov/std/hpv/STDFact-HPV.htm

Do a Google search.

[–]ralphodog 0 points0 points0 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Most men clear it in under a year. If you know you have it, you should really inform partners or wait long enough to clear it.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Well fuck it good thing I'm on my throwaway.

I had two of these and tried a few conventional and non-conventional treatment methods. The one that worked the best was vinegar - where you take a small bandaid and a little cotton from the end of a q-tip so you can soak the wart in vinegar until it turns white. Anywhere from 30 min to a few hours is what I read - it really just matters that the wart is saturated and turns white. Do this daily and within a week it will turn black and some or part of it will fall off.

Using other methods like chemicals or freezing them off they would come back fairly quick, but doing it this way one of them seems to be gone for good and the other one will stay gone for months at a time and is quick to take care of the 2 times it has tried to return.

My understanding of how it works:

One of the ways your skin protects itself from invading bacteria, etc... is by using acidity. Healthy skin is able to thrive at acid levels that other things don't do well in, so it creates a slightly acidic environment for itself. When you have a wart it's an area of unhealthy skin that isn't functioning like it should, and a side-effect is that it can't thrive as easily in an acidic environment. The vinegar basically ramps up the acidity to a point that healthy skin can still handle ok but the unhealthy skin can't, so only the wart dies.

Google it for more info. Most of what you will find says use apple cider vinegar (lower acidity) and probably includes plenty of dubious conclusions, but I used straight up white vinegar (higher acidity) and it worked great.

[–]VeryLargePen15[S] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Do you think vinegar and freezing them would work? I all ready went to the doc and freezed them. Bought my own freezing shit from the pharmacy, Id like to do all I can to speed this up. Would the vinegar speed things along or is this a bad idea?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

See how the freezing thing works first. I guess it would probably speed things along but it's going to sting if the skin is broken from the freezing.

Or you can test with some vinegar and a q-tip to see if it's a painful mistake or not.

Also scarring might be a concern if you overdo the trauma to the spot. I didn't get any scarring from any of my experiments, but I tried to be careful about it.

From CDC: http://www.cdc.gov/STD/HPV/STDFact-HPV.htm

HPV is so common that most sexually-active men and women will get at least one type of HPV at some point in their lives

The "best practice" on this is to treat it until it's gone, and not to have sex with anyone if you're ever showing symptoms (warts). If you're not showing symptoms it's not the kind of thing that you have to tell people about (A doctor told me this). The reason is you're not doing anyone any favors by doing so because there isn't any higher risk fucking you than fucking some random off the street.

The more important best practice is for young women to get treated so they are immune, as well as young men if that becomes available. Then it becomes a non-issue.

This is pure bullshit and you're a real fucking asshole.

Do people tell each other if they've had "cold sores" in the past? Get real bub.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's actually not bullshit. Life isn't an after-school special, now relax and be happy that you never had to deal with this before.

and then she's screwed, turning a decent girl tainted

HPV isn't herpes. It's incredibly common, most people have had it at some point in their lives and it does go away.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Oh i thought HPV stayed with you for a certain amount of time before it was cleared, and even then it could resurface. Thanks for clearing that up. Am just reading HPV is akin to the chicken pox virus in that the virus stays with you but it usually remains dormant.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I did a fair amount of research on this and I think you can get rid of it, but it can be dormant just as easy and you can't tell the difference. It depends on your immune system and on how well any treatment you have works on the area.

People don't like the truth.

No, people don't like being moralized to. Morals are not truth.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago [recovered] (4 children) | Copy Link

Thats not true, what people really don't like is the feeling of being different, excluded, or unwelcome, or wrong. morality is the belief in something as right. Lacking morality, believing something is moral when your peers would say its not, or plain disregarding it while knowing or not caring about its immorality leads to the previous; being different to the point of being an outcast and excluded, being unwelcomed, or being proven wrong. if you feel like you're being moralized too, enough to downvote something then there is something innately bothering you about what is being said, and its the possibility that you might be wrong about your belief, or that you might be unwelcome because of your belief, or might be excluded because of your belief. You're realization that you're different but an unwelcome different, a "wrong" different.

When I say people don't like the truth, i am not speaking about morality as the truth, I am speaking about the truth that while yes morality is a perception of something's goodness vs somethings badness, because of human nature one can't help but feel at the most compelled to conform to the judgements of its peers, or at the least feel discomfort at the thought being, wrong, unwelcomed, excluded. Thats truth.

You can try to wash it down and regurgitate it however you want but the truth is a lot of people here are here because they weren't accepted, were excluded, and were unwelcome because of their personalities, beliefs, lifestyle choices, whatever it was.

Amorality is not encouraging immorality(which is what seems to go on a lot here, i don't care about it all though makes for fun discourse to think about), its rather complacent indifference. Its not truth at all so you are right but your are also wrong as you misinterpreted what people, or at least most mean when they say "people don't like the truth". Morality and immorality are not universal truths, they are things, (especially with dealing with right or wrong, immoral vs moral) that have or don't have value because we give or take away that ascribed value. There aren't many truths in life, we live we die, we need food to eat. There are other scientific things like human anatomy, physical world type stuff we've done enough experiments and dissections and autopsies to be able to say some things are "truths", but there are really only patterns, trends, we can act on but there is always some percentage of error, some chance that things might work out differently according to our understanding of whatever perceived truth we were acting on.

Perception is what gives everything value, its why wars are fought, he perception that I am right and that side is wrong. It is why people downvote, they do not agree, again its "me right, them wrong". Morality is no different. I would just rather embrace the trend that being even the slightest moral creates than the trend that being immoral creates.

But let me just say, i couldn't care what you do with your own life, I just find zero value of sycophantic or hypocritical theories where one's actions will only serve to reinforce said theories. ie. knowingly infecting a woman with hpv, then calling her a slut with the other guys because she now has HPv when you were the one that gave it to her.

[–]Justathrowawayo 0 points0 points0 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I don't like being punched. You can attempt to redefine this as what I really don't like is feeling pain, being disrespected, or whatever else, but it still means the same thing because one comes with the other. People don't like moralizing for a lot of reasons, but all those reasons go along with the moralizing.

Amorality is not encouraging immorality

Um, no. There is no "immorality" with amorality. An amoral person cannot push "immorality" from their perspective because it's not "immoral." You write a lot, you don't say very much, and that what you do say is bullshit.

How much effort are you willing to expend in order to avoid simply admitting your circlejerk bullshit "people don't like the truth!" was simply inapplicable and wrong? You were wrong. It's okay.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago [recovered] (2 children) | Copy Link

People don't like moralizing for a lot of reasons, but all those reasons go along with the moralizing.

Sure thats true, but at the core of the "why" you don't like being punched there are other issues, "truer" reasons. Just like not liking being moralized to, has other "truer" reasons.

In other wordsits not the moralizing in and of itself, its the way moralizing makes a person feel and the reason it illicits that response. Its not the punch in and of itself its the way the punch makes you feel.

No, it's not. There is no "immorality" with amorality. An amoral person cannot push "immorality" from their perspective because it's not "immoral."

yes. thats what I said. it is not encouraging immorality. nor is it encouraging morality, it is indifference, just like mathematics is amoral, or physics is amoral. They don't see good of bad, right or wrong, they just see. So I don't disagree with you. I mean you said exactly the same thing I said. What exactly are you arguing here?

Amoral people do not recognize right or wrong. It is not a willingness to disregard morality, or disregard immorality, it is just actions that you view as not right and not wrong. A good test is if you have guilt, if you feel bad for something you've done, or if you gain pleasure in things like revenge, or feel good doing typically harmful or negative things, chances are you are not amoral.

You write a lot, you don't say very much, and that what you do say is bullshit.

Its ironic you would say this when in fact it looks more like you just retyped everything I wrote and tried to argue my same point.

How much effort are you willing to expend in order to avoid simply admitting your circlejerk bullshit "people don't like the truth!" was simply inapplicable and wrong? You were wrong. It's okay.

It wasn't bullshit as the whole comment was about truth>reality>the way reality makes you feel>not being able to handle the truth. If you actually think about it instead of using more energy to come up with quips for your next response i'm sure we'd be able to really discuss this. When people say people can't handle the truth, they generally, more often than not mean they can't handle what the current situation actually, with out a doubt, is. The truth is its the way the reality situation makes you feel that you can't handle, it makes you uncomfortable, to varying degrees, some realities are harder to swallow than others as we see with TRP's anger phase. The common man does not understand this, they say people can't handle the truth and mean simply they can't handle the situation's reality. Specific to this thread I used morality and the way being moralized too makes you feel and why it makes you feel that way. But you could use this "people can't handle teh truth" for anything. Someone gets cheated on, they can't handle the truth. Its not the cheating, its the way the cheating makes you feel, its the perception of the situation, that has or hasn't value, thats the uncomfortable truth, the reality of the situation, and your perception of it that dictates your emotions. You feel you're being moralized to, when in fact more deeply you feel like you could be wrong based on your perception, like your actions might be perceived as unwanted as unwelcome.

Just to summarize for you. my comment stemmed from the original poster saying that the OP contracted the hpv from his own actions and not to go around spreading it to a girl who doesn't sleep around. another person said they weren't sure why the person was being downvoted because it was true. I said how there people can't handle the truth, the uncomfortable feeling from seeing the reality as it is. The I went on to talk about how thats the issue with TRP the amoralness that more often than not comes off more as a disguise for encouraging immorality. Then you said its because people don't like being moralized to, morality is not truth. To which I said you;re right, but what is truth? Not much in life is "true" people don't like being moralized to because of the way it makes them feel, which if we look further into comes from a feeling of being unwelcomed, wrong, excluded etc. Which I would estimate a good many subscribers, probably yourself included, came to this sub for. To you its "i don't like being moralized to" to me its "why don't you like it? because it makes you feel uncomfortable, potentially being wrong or being typecast as an immoral character". Its a matter of simple mind vs understanding the root. I'm sure if we went further and disected why people didn't like being moralized to and what makes them feel that way we'd find that its not the moralizing, but some other past experience that really creates the source of the emotion.

[–]Justathrowawayo 0 points0 points0 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

"truer" reasons.

lol, okay. This is a distinction without a difference and one which is still irrelevant. This isn't just pedantry, it's irrelevant pedantry to distract from the error of your original point. The truth is not what bothered people in that comment, it was the moralizing.

You write a lot, but say little. You distract, redefine, broaden, and other weaseling tactics to avoid admitting simple error. If you have to respond to an ~11 word comment with a novel, you're likely full of shit... and you are.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago [recovered] (0 children) | Copy Link

The truth is not what bothered people in that comment, it was the moralizing.

I didn't read any moralizing. I didn't view his comment as telling people to do good things and live morally, he was saying, don't spread disease to someone who probably doesn't have it. Is it morality that tells us to cover our mouths when we cough and might get other people sick? Again just another hamster justifying poor behavior in the veil of amorality. And this goes back to my initial comment, he problem with TRP is the lack of any integrity, not because its wrong but because some schlub is gonna read amorality and think carte blanche, I can do whatever I want without repercussions. this sub draws many impressionable young guys and i think as I said, a bit of critical judgement can go a long way.

Again I stand by the assertion that truth is the reality of the situation, how you you feel about that reality based on your perceptions that is hard to handle. It has nothing to do with morality on the surface.

This is my last response as its clear no matter what i say, you will relabel it as some "weaseling" way to avoid admitting a mistake i feel i did not make. nonetheless, you win man. I made a mistake, I should've been clearer.

Meh, for your sake, HPV in men RARELY leads to cancer.

Also, HPV is PANDEMIC:

About 20 million people in the U.S. are infected with HPV at any time, according to the CDC. And three-fourths of sexually active people between ages 15 and 49 have been infected at some point in their lives, according to estimates from the American Social Health Association.

So, yea. Unless you're a virgin, you've almost certainly been exposed. So there's no point in blaming OP for pumping and dumping.

Source: http://www.webmd.com/sexual-conditions/hpv-genital-warts/hpv-virus-information-about-human-papillomavirus?page=2#1

Yea, webmd is only slightly credible, but the CDC stuff I found was written as if it were trying to obscure prevalence.

They used liquid nitrogen on you ? I got a dose from an unclean woman once, right at the base just past the "condom line" and my doc gave me a sort of "paint" that cleared them up within a week.

[–]trplurker 3 points3 points3 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

There are a few methods depending on the size, shape, location and how deep the wart goes.

[–]VeryLargePen15[S] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

My Dr was rather unhelpful. Didnt have anything to say and my questions where met with brief half hearted answers. I am going to get a second opinion. There has been at least 6 women I have slept with since I noticed these things, before people say Im a scum bag remember I had them looked at in the past and was assured it was nothing. I went to a dr in the first place back then and they said they are prob nothing but blasted it with nitrogen anyway. Cleared up and I never thought about it again. Now something similar is back like a decade later. I thought it was a scar/skin tag/mole of some kind which it very well may be. The dr did zero test he just said "looks like a wart". So now I have confilcting stories from two different professionals. I am too old to get the shot but thankfully the girls I have been with are young enough to have probably gotten it. I spoke with one of them. Shes got the shot and is okay with it. I worry about the other girls because they are a bit older. I bought one of those do it yourself freeze off wart removers from the pharmacy and it seems to be working well. If its anything like last time they will be gone and not bother me for a decade, or perhaps forever again. Also its odd, I have been down and personal (eye level) with these girls pussies and I have not noticed any obvious signs. Perhaps it is something benign and the doctor just sucked. Either way this situation blows.

HPV is not a big deal for a Man it goes away after a while. On average, a Man's immune system "spontaneously clears it" after a year or so. This is why ZMA is great along with medicinal mushrooms because it makes you less likely to pick up stuff like this.

As long as the HPV isn't on the actual penis shaft you are at lower risk for transferring it to a woman and giving her cervical cancer essentially.

[–]1independentmale1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

giving her cervical cancer essentially.

Most HPV strains don't contribute to cervical cancer. Even the strains that can usually don't.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is true. I've read that specifically the strain that causes warts is not the same as the one that causes cancer.

A doctor will tell you to disclose it if there is a reasonable amount of risk that you will spread it to your partner. If you're not symptomatic it doesn't spread as easily. This combined with how common it is and the low severity if you do catch it is why they will say you're ok with not disclosing.

Do you think a Dr is actually going to write in your records, "Had slut face so recommended no-disclosure"??

I think you're mixing up HPV and HSV. For most people, the immune system completely clears HPV from the body.

Yeah but I don't think Testosterone affects HSV either. He might mean L-arginine which will help HSV re-activate.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's the cancer strain referenced in the Wikipedia section you linked. I have the warts kind and it has been at least 4 years. 2 without treatment because it was small (two tiny warts) and I didn't realize what it was and the last two one of them tries to come back every 5 or 6 months. I just treated it again last month. The other one seems to be gone for good.
