Why I know what I’m talking about

Why? I was a pushover for 27 years before it finally hit me that I was making other people happy at my own expense. I was taught from an early age that I should always be nice to everyone, do everything I can to be good to people, and more. I adopted this, and in general, it benefited me. That is, it benefited me until I started being interested in girls.

Women, as many of us know, will do anything they want unless they’re frequently checked and brought back to reality by a man. They won’t hesitate to shit all over other people to make themselves happier (look at every girl from the age of 14 – 30 for all the proof you need. They actively talk shit about their own “besties” – barf.

Why you should stop being a pushover

For many men, this is a no-brainer. Nobody wants to be a pushover, but so many of us are. So why should you actually work to become someone who demands respect and demands that things go their way? Because you will stop feeling unfulfilled when you think about your life. Because you will gain the respect and admiration of others, simply by doing everything you can in your power to get what you want, every single time, all of the time.

Why should you stop being a pushover? Because every woman I’ve been with since I realized this has told me how much they love my confidence, and how much they love being told what to do, “even though they’re not normally like that.” That sound coming out of their mouth that sounds like words? That’s complete fucking affirmation that you have them tied around your finger and that you can do anything you want.

So how do I stop being a pushover?

If the idea of being assertive and demanding and dominating in social environments terrifies you like it terrified me, break the process into steps. For one day, make everything about you. Step in line in front of a woman because “you’re in a hurry and have a family member that’s really sick.” See how good it feels? Tell a girl who has you pegged for a beta provider – or worse, someone in the friend zone – that you don’t have time for her bullshit right now. Feels great, doesn’t it? You don’t have to be a dick, but if you feel like going all out, try that out too.

Take one day to be completely selfish and do everything for yourself. Do not do anything for anyone else. At the end of the day, sit down on your couch and ask yourself: has the world exploded? No. Have you lost all of your friends? No. Do your coworkers think you’re a douche that they hate and will never want to be seen around? No. If you’ve done it right, the opposite will likely be true – people will WANT to please you. Just like you want to please the people walking all over you.

Do this for one day, and once you realize that nothing has changed other than you, you’ll be on your way to feeling a whole lot better.

TL;DR: Take one day to do everything for you, and you only. Notice that the world has not ended. Repeat.
