As a person who is continually searching to improve himself, I have stumbled into this sub maybe a couple of years back. I lurked and learned a few things here and there, and is very thankful for it because it corrected a lot of things that I believed. My visits are interspersed in a few months interval and cluster during those times.

In those intervals, I have noticed recently though that the tone of posts here are getting quite... aggressive. I am describing it loosely and I won't be able to post comparative citations of comments and/or posts from before versus the current date to illustrate my claim because it would demand extra work that as of the moment I cannot spare. (Forgive my lack of a better word, English is my third language.) Visiting this sub before left me an impression of trying to improve myself. It taught me about getting the right perspective about gender roles brought about by thousands of years of evolution. It reminded me about the dangers of seduction and manipulation. It taught me to hold fast when relapsing. And a whole lot more things.

Recently though, it feels like the dominant energy now I get from this sub is in the form of angst, aggression and emnity against the characteristics of women, and some even on women in general. While I completely understand the heuristic definition of AWALT, (and everything that comes with it) I believe it is not what should be a glaring characteristic of this sub. I would understand that some here are victims of womens infidelity, and are here in rage, trying to find an explanation why they were betrayed and how can they make themselves feel better. I completely understand this also. But maybe this should not be the impetus of self improvement.

I will them attempt to describe the current gender atmosphere in my country so that you can see my perspective in relation to the to how I relate emnity towards women and self improvement.

The next part of my post lies in the assumption that most posters here are from the west.

Elsewhere Around the Globe

I am a 29 years old, in the Philippines, with a 5 year LTR.

This would probably surprise you folks here, but by default, women here understand gender roles.

The married women here are the ones who cook, clean the house, go with the kids to school, buy the groceries, they are the likely parents to go to PTA meeting. They, according to the culture, are the best economists, because they budget limited resources to unlimited wants and needs. Minor decisions are mostly left to women, like when to go to the movies, what beach to go to (we have a lot of beaches here), what food to cook, where to spend the summer vacation, etc. They are the ones who disciplines the kids (minor offenses). They are our mothers, who loved our dad even sometimes our dad is out of shape and failed to bring in the money.

The "empowered" women here go to work. Some hold high office positions. But when they come home, they are still expected to do what a mother does.

Men on the other hand do most the heavy work. They are the ones who bring in the money. They are the ones who are expected to work long hours. If the child does something major, the dads are the ones who punish. Most cooking are done by the women, but when the man cooks, it is a special occasion and he is expected to cook well. The man is entitled to rest and recreation activities after work and during weekends.

They are also the ones set off to war. Most managers are men, most chief of hospitals are men. Men make the major decisions in companies, institutions and in the family. Women submit. They are given the decision making positions because men are less likely to involve emotion. Women here agree to this and they understand. Women who hold a high position think like men.

Feminism is a readily dismissed topic by both genders. Some women, including my LTR, blatanly speaks against it.

Being alpha here is simple called being a man. It is one and the same.

Along With It Comes...

With all the acceptance to gender roles, it is somewhat ok for women to not find a job. After college, some, especially the middle class women, does not actively search for jobs. When they earn, they spend it for themselves. Men immediately search for jobs, and save up.

Men are also expected to know how to drive stick shift, to do all the heavy lifting, do all the repairs at home, know about plumbing, electronics, know how to cook better.

It is socially more acceptable for men to cheat. Men cheat almost all the time and men who don't cheat are a rare breed. Women who cheat are a rare breed. Cheating women have a heavier punishment than cheating men by law.

Misogynist?

Men who rapes women. It could also be used here to describe men who physically hurt women. Misogynists are rare here, because there is no feminism.

In my Perspective: The Red Pill

The red pill is somewhat prophylactic for people who are placed in a primarily patriarchal culture similar to where I am at right now. Still, there are outliers, as with any population. Some women (especially the younger ones) have broken free, showing their true AWALT colors. I am afraid that the younger men will not have the stability in gender roles that I have been born to.

My Probably Unpopular Opinion

I agree with AWALT. It is hardwired into their brains. But with all instincts, it could readily be overridden by conscious decisions. What could influence it? Culture maybe? Because despite the fact that AWALT, women here are able to suppress their AWALT nature and perform what is expected of them, simply put, being submissive, be a good mom, a good wife, not cheat.

The impression (I could be very wrong) I have been getting recently is that some folks here think it's the epitome of a man's success is pounding pussy, treating non deserving women like meat because AWALT anyway, getting ripped and buffed, get a hobby, getting the one who hurt you initially to regret doing what she did to you, being "successful." Success even is a very vague term, and is subjective.

Pound pussy, hit the gym, ace shit tests, be ALPHA!

Honestly? It wounds like something a pussy would say.

Going to the gym can not make you alpha. Acing shit tests cannot make you a man. It can get you some pussy. But is that TRP is all about? I think some think that it is the reason why TRP is in existence. Because the mods are doing a good job, this sub is not turning into the male version of the extreme feminazi man-haters because they got hurt by their first true love.

You can not be alpha unless you change the way you think. For me personally, being alpha has a lot to do with personal accountability and having a personal goal. Simple as that. No one is responsible for your well being, your security, your food, your happiness other than yourself. It means you must work.

Hating women should not be the driving force to make yourself a better man. This thought should never manifest in this sub.

That is is for now

I might be speaking nonsense, being not a really active member of this sub, so I apologize, but I am just sharing my two cents for the purpose of maybe poking some dudes, nudging the trajectory of this sub to what I personally perceive as for the better (sounded self centered, I agree), and waving to the whole manosphere that we still exist.

Lastly, can I get a show of hands who, in this sub, in here are from any Southeast Asian Country like me?

TL;DR 1.) I'm from the PH and women here are subservient to men, and doesn't consider this fact sexist. We still exist. 2.) Hating women should not be the driving force to make yourself a better man.
