My journey of self-improvement started a year ago. It started with The Red Pill. Why? I was angry, upset, and constantly anxious. I was starting to drink on a daily basis, getting drunk alone. All in an attempt to block out what I was feeling. This went on for a couple months. All it took for me to get to that point was a terrible case of Oneitis. Everything became about her, I couldn't focus on anything.I failed a couple classes in University and I got demoted at my job. It was all spiraling down. So, I came to The Red Pill, it seemed like a tool set to win over that Oneitis, and I thought, if I had her all my problems would go away.I quickly realized a very important thing. I'm putting my happiness, my feelings, all in somebody else's control.I'm letting somebody who looks back at me as some small insignificant fling, control my life. There is something seriously wrong with that attitude. Love wouldn't have fixed my problems. Even if I had "won her over", it would have been like duct tape on a burst pipe. Anyways I think we get the point. So, what changed?

I took responsibility over life. A perspective changed. It wasn't like a switch flicked on. It was actually a slow process.I started realizing things. Realizing the root of my problems. It came down to me being afraid of failure. So, when I actually failed, I blamed the problems on something else. Instead, now, a failure is a lesson. It tells me, that there is something wrong and it needs to be addressed to move forward. I applied this philosophy to my relationships. I lost friends. People I had known for years. I also gained friends, people who bring positively to my life. Friends who are candid, and honest with me. Who support me, and have similar interests. At work, this change in mindset allowed me to change behaviors that never did me any good. It went from "I have to work" to "I spend 8 hours here, how do I use this time to become a better version of myself". Within 12 months, I doubled my earnings from where they were before I got demoted.

My final thoughts are two things. 1.) Don't wait for it to get easier, because it probably won't. If your goal is to get to point B, don't wait for a car to come along and drive you there, roll up your socks and start moving. 2.)Success and Failure are the same thing, they serve as tools to learn. Success means you did something right, failure means you did something wrong. Do not give them more meaning than that, it is dangerous to do so.

Now, I can say my thank you. The Red Pill may not be something I need anymore, but it made me realize that my problems are my own, and only I can fix them. Now, I go on to bigger and better things.
