Good on you. It takes guts to overcome social pressures. Quite interesting how fast it changes from dread to joy once you've committed to doing something, isn't it?
Today I approached a girl passing by my on campus. I got rejected, but I felt great that I had the guts to cold approach her. I learned much more in the minute or so i spent talking with her than if i were to spend hours on this subreddit.

Precisely!!! We need to make this abundantly clear to those who continue to be afraid that it's ok to be afraid, but in the wise words of Shia Lebouf Just Do It.

yea, focus on the positives more often. Tonight it was letting loose and feeling good in your own skin. Maybe next time you open a girl or 2 at a bar. You may get shot down by one and the other is so so. But you learned that opening girls requires a level of energy you didn't have with the one you bombed on. It's a marathon not a sprint.

This is a step in the right direction. Its the small victories that count up towards the bigger once, so keep going at it!
