Seems wholesome to me.

WTF?

[–]Echo_XB3[S] 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

idk why they removed it

Doesn't fit feminist narrative I'm guessing

Yeah, they don’t know what wholesome means over there. 😅

ah yeah here we see again that feminism doesnt mean that BOTH genders should be equal

[–]BrokenWingsQ 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

on their minds women just have problems

[+]fugelwoman -2 points-1 points0 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No one is saying men don’t have problems but being a woman means you’ve also an added layer of challenges in most spheres of money jobs etc

[+]fugelwoman -5 points-4 points-3 points 3 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

We don’t both have the same struggles tho - women have been denied or pushed out of jobs and money for centuries. One recent article - tell me when women systemically ran companies and denied men ability to input?

Sexism was blatant for decades. When in 1953 a female shareholder of Standard Oil of New Jersey asked why the company had no female directors, even though it reported having more women than men as shareholders, the chairman, Frank Abrams, said the company hadn’t found a woman “who can contribute to the problems we have to face.” He added, “I was going to say that first they would start with our interior decorating.”

The firmly held belief that women were content to be passive owners wasn’t even accurate. Haan recounts the activism of several women, including Wilma Soss, who challenged corporate policies that required female employees to retire at 55, versus 65 for men, and was forcibly removed from an annual meeting of IBM for persisting in trying to nominate a female director from the floor.”

We both have struggles, they might not be the same but they're real

[+]fugelwoman 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Circumcision is a great example of a struggle men face more that women (note: in some countries, women do face it but it is wholly looked down upon). I firmly believe it’s mutilation - that’s acceptable for boys but not for girls. But why? It is utterly insane that it’s still practiced today.

[+]fugelwoman 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Agree they are real for sure. I can name MANY struggles men face that are legit. That said, there is demonstrable systemic discrimination towards women regarding jobs and money for decades. The article above is a clear example. And removing those obstacles would help MEN too. How?

Example: do you hate gold diggers and financially manipulative women? Make sure the financial playing field is equal so they can make their own money. Ensure that women can’t sleep their way to the top so that whole “sex for power” issue is muted. Enable meritocracy. Enable women to be financially independent so they don’t leech off you.

[–]Virtual_Piece 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I agree with the whole equal pay thing and I do think women should be in the work force but some women act like men's issues aren't even real and that is what upsets me

[+]fugelwoman 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

And that is valid - real feminists (like myself) acknowledge those issues and real feminism is for addressing ALL gender issues.

Men shouldn’t face burden of being breadwinner or be looked down on for making less money. Or for being short. Or for showing emotion. Women have things to unlearn too.

[–]Virtual_Piece 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I'm glad some of you understand, sometimes it's disheartening when I see women saying the crazy shit they say about men on Twitter and other social media that sometimes you forget that some of them listen to us

[+]fugelwoman 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And some women do. But one thing I hope gets recognised is that there are a higher percentage of men acting out in ways that are more severe.

Mass shootings, murdering someone who rejects you as two big examples- women do plenty of horrible things but the data does show that pretty much all mass shootings are conducted by men. There’s a whole system that’s damaging men and women with rigid gender specific expectations. I’m not saying men cannot act manly if they want to. But forcing men to “not cry” or show emotion bc it’s “not manly” is toxic and degrades mens mental health. If women want to act in ways that are seen as “manly” like earning a lot of money or wanting to be president, she shouldn’t be derided for that. And women shouldn’t be expected to do all housework or childcare. Things like that.
