Hey there asktrp,
(I've lurked for a number of months and posted here a few times before, but I created a different account to avoid giving too much information).
I have been reading trp for about a year now and have mostly been focusing on the self-improvement aspect - lifting, eating better, losing weight, etc. thank you trp - I went from about 230 lbs to 180 lbs. cut down the time I spend on WoW by about 75%, and put on a fair bit of muscle. trp didn't provide me the knowledge but it gave me the motivation.
The problem: I have not improved in social situations at all, and I always feel "invisible" despite looking much better than I used to. I have always had very few friends and have been unable to connect well with others. I am a college student, I actually managed to get a relationship with one girl in high school which is amazing considering I was unattractive and blue pill as fuck back then, but it was a difficult one. Even when I join clubs and activities I still feel left out as I am unable to communicate well or even maintain an interest in what others are saying. I have difficulty talking to girls with a straight face and am sure I give off an awkward vibe. This is probably caused largely by my Autism - I have always had trouble getting along with other people and had a shitty time in elementary and middle school.
I get depressed thinking about this because I'm in college - I should be going out, meeting people, getting shit done and having a good time, but I spend all my time in my dorm masterbating, surfing the internet - I spend way too much time on trp for my own good, and being a loser - all I've done is replace video games with other wastes of time. It is hard for me to motivate myself to leave my dorm when I have a tough time interacting with everyone else. In some ways, I think my social skills are so bad that trp has made my social life worse because I find it even harder to relate to my blue-pill peers than I used to.
How should I improve my social life? Any resources for guys with Autism? I had a really beta upbringing and on a psychological level try to iron out those traits, but I honestly feel like I spend little enough time interacting with others that it hardly matters how beta I am.
I'm not trying to play a victim card or evoke pity or anything like I used to - I'm just trying to make the most of my situation and am lost on how to do that, or where to start. Thanks in advance for the replies.
tl;dr I'm a garden-variety autistic omega, but without the fat or neckbeard. The autism is really the issue here. Suggestions?
