I'm dating a red pill guy and I noticed this on our second time hanging out that when we hold hands - he'll hold my hand for a while then randomly pull away and hold it again. I know it sounds petty but when he pulls away it kind of hurts psychologically (weird I know) It's hard to explain - anyway does he not like hand holding and is just holding mine in short increments to be nice? When he lets go I don't try holding it again but when he tries to hold my hand I accept it. I'm not used to this behavior/haven't seen it before.

TLDR: can't tell if date likes hand holding or not? Do I come off as needy?

Edit: forgot to mention I'm late 20sf and he's a few years older
