Have fun and relax. Join in on some games. Hit on girls. Isolate and escalate. If you are getting strong IOI's from a girl grab her hand and tell her that you have to show her something, then find a quiet place to make out.

When you get in there, chug half a beer right off the bat. Alcohol is terrible in excess, but a great social catalyst in smaller amounts. You shouldn't have any more than 2-3 beers this entire night. Any more and you risk making a fool of yourself.

Always smile and laugh - This is key. You need to look like you're constantly having a good time. Be happy about everything. Too loud and didn't hear someone? "Haha it's so loud! What'd you say?" Someone trying to bring down the mood? "Hah, damn bro. That's dark!". To onlookers, they'll think you're engaged in awesome conversation whoever you're talking to and realize you're the source of it.

Body language is key. You have to trick everyone into thinking you're super relaxed. Take up space, perform actions slowly and smoothly. It helps me to repeat to myself "I own this place. These people are in my territory".

Engage in random conversations - Be smart, be witty, push the conversation to be about others. People love talking about themselves. Interrogate with a smile. Take an unexpected leave and engage in a new conversation - leave them hanging. It subtly says you're too popular to be tied to one engagement for too long. You have a lot of people that crave your presence.

This includes people you think are above you. It's going to be scary, but if you see your bully chatting with people, engage. I did, and it was the best decision I ever made. He asked "What are you doing here, loser?", I said "Oh, me? Just finishing up my homework (finishes beer). Now I'm starting extra credit (hands him the empty, cracks open a new one)." He laughed his ass off and we all chatted for a while before I moved on.

It's going to be different from school, in all the best ways. Just take it easy, be comfortable. Honestly, if you haven't drank before, have two or three one night before the party, so you aren't surprised by the effects.

If you're going into a party which has 20 strangers, leave with 20 new mates. Just have fun and both men & women will want to be around you.

Drink a beer to relax and become less inhibited, but don't drink too much if you're not used to it.

Prepare your best IDGAF attitude and enjoy yourself.

You're not put on this planet for anybody's entertainment but your own. You are not a clown. You are not a paid entertainer. Refuse to force yourself to carry conversations with people who aren't trying to keep it going themselves. Have a few drinks, don't get shitfaced, and talk to every girl at the party at least once.

If you like a girl, isolate and escalate.
