In my dating experiences, every girl has shown signs of low self-esteem and insecurity — with 90% of their worries appearing to stem from their physical appearance and their sexual appeal. I have long accepted that this is normal behavior in our society.

One of my plates is beginning to make frequent throwaway comments, and has begun approaching me about one thing or another — which was inevitable.

I view them as comfort tests; as she is exposing her vulnerabilities in order to seek validation and reassurance. I have naturally created a strong dynamic. It will suffer if I’m propping her up with compliments at every instance. Often, I will not respond; change the subject or make her laugh (affirmation).

I do not want to be responsible for her self-esteem; appear besotted, infatuated and weak. Despite my high opinion of her, it isn't in my nature to shower anyone with admiration. I believe that my actions hold more weight.

Anyone have any thoughts on this topic? Cheers.
