Hello Red Pill community members. I am a 23 year old recovering incel and I've recently been taking steps to conquer my approach anxiety and become a more confident better man. I now attend the gym regularly, maintain eye contact, and I have started NoFap.

Today I planned to grab the bull by the horns and interact with a woman. I am an anime fan and recently a new popular anime movie came out in theaters. I planned to go see it alone (no friends) and my goal was to sit next to a woman during the movie. Upon my arrival to the theater, I see a lone woman (around my age) buying popcorn. Instead of approaching her and asking "hey are you here to see the anime movie", I instead say nothing while we walk toward the movie room.

I want to talk to her and sit next to her but I chickened out. She sits in the row one from the back and I sit one row in front of her. As more people start entering the movie room, I continue to sit one row in front of her. However, once the movie is about to start and people have stopped entering, I summon my courage and move to her row with one seat between us.

I observe her body language and notice that she has her legs folded and pointed away from me. She also has moved her drink to the right cup holder. I interpret this as low IOIs and determine that approaching her would result in a high probability of rejection. I still want to approach her but the social anxiety of being rejected in front of the entire movie audience would be hard to overcome. I instead try to ignore her and focus on enjoying the movie. Once the movie is finished, I immediately leave the theater instead of sneaking a peek.

What things did I do wrong and what things did I do right?

TLDR; Went to anime movie to talk to find a girl to talk to. Ended up not talking to a girl before entering movie theater. Positioned myself one row away from her and then changed location to one seat away from her. Observed her body language and decide not to approach due to my fear of being embarrassed in front of the movie audience. Strove to ignore her and focus on the movie. Left the theater without sneaking a peek at her face.
