Unless you're fucking a couple of girls, then it's just cucking yourself with extra steps. Not doing it these days, but I used to be around this a lot. I was a member of a couple private groups and I would occasionally bring a plate to one of the events and from time to time invited for swaps with just one couple. My observations:

If you are married and doing this, you are no longer married. You are roommates that have other fuck buddies. I've seen these couples be very enthusiastic with each other, but have abandoned much of the comfort behaviors.
