Gonna try to keep this somewhat short, as there are only a few real points to be made.

Close friend (HBBirthday) turned 21 on Sunday. Went out to the bar with a mixed set, me, 3 of my guy friends, HBBirthday and HB8. One of my friends has had mad oneitis for HBBirthday since ever, and last time HBBirthday and I hooked up, it ended up being a really big deal drama wise. She's a cute girl, but I made a decision not to go for her, because I didn't want to deal with the associated potential drama. HB8 is an old friend (known her since I was like 14) who I tried to hook up with a few months back, no success, but I'm still always flirty with her just for shits.

We got to the bar early (9pm) with it being Sunday, no one really planned on staying out late. I hung around, had some drinks, stayed flirty with HB8, and she reciprocated, nothing out of the ordinary. Around 10:15 HB8 and I decided to hit up the liquor store, then meet up with everyone else back at her house (The plans was for everyone to go back there after the bar). On the way to the liquor store, she started complaining about how she hasn't gotten laid in months, she has pulled this type of stuff before, so I just kept it chill, agreed that it sucks, but that she'll find someone. She started listing off her "options", the 3 other guys back at the bar were all bad choices for various reasons.

After she was done ranting about how all the guys were so lame, I said something to the effect of "Yeah, and if we hooked up, you'd just fall in love with me or whatever". She did not like that ONE BIT, she was visibly angry/annoyed, and started talking about how I was conceited, and how she would never have sex with me now, etc. etc. I tried to make it clear that I was just giving her shit, while also letting her know that I did believe there was a pretty strong chance one of us would fall for the other. (Note, I didn't apologize, I just explained to her that when people who go as far back as we do start hooking up, stuff usually goes down). She wasn't having it, so I decided "Fuck it, you're right, my penis is a magic love wand, and you would be helpless under it's spell". I continued with this mentality for the remainder of the night.

We went back to her place and she chilled out a little bit, but was still annoyed with me for the rest of the night. Around 12:30 we were laying in her bed listening to music and stuff, any time I even tried to get her close to me she kept backing away. I didn't react, chilled out for 15 or 20 more minutes, and went home. She seemed surprised that I was leaving, and even offered to let me crash there. There were still people partying in the living room, so I just told her it was too loud, and that I wanted to sleep in my own bed (Both true).

Now, I'm sure I could have laid there all night, maybe gotten fiendzone cuddled, maybe gotten a makeout or something, but I wasn't about that. I wasn't cool with the idea of her giving me shit all night about being conceited, then her having me at her mercy.

WHAT A LAME ENDING RIGHT? WRONG.

Last night she called and asked me to hang out again. Had a few drinks, ended up in her bed and she literally just got on top of me and got started. This could have been for a thousand reasons, but my gut tells me she knew that I wasn't just gonna sit around and be her bitch. F-closed and didn't hear a word about how much of a jerk I am for the rest of the night.

Points to keep in mind: Stay true to yourself, agree and amplify, be selective. I should mention that on Saturday I got my first SNL, and that helped me with my abundance mentality in a big way.
