Just a quick post from my observations and reading the posts here for the last few months. The aim here is just to quickly highlight the potential problems in your approaches that you may not know about, and point you to the solution. I hope this can reduce the volume of newbie approaching questions, short and sweet, let's begin!
Blunder #1 - Not Approaching
In your painful awareness, you know and I know that not approraching is a blunder. You're not even giving a chance for yourself to succeed! Learn to manage and conquer fear and approach anxiety.
Blunder #2 - Stalking / Hovering
Girls know that you are following them / looking at them. The longer you let your approach anxiety control you, the bigger the creep you're going to become. When she catches your eye, it's better to regulate your approach anxiety while walking up to her. See the principle of commitment.
Blunder #3 - Approaching With No Attraction
If you approach a woman with zero attraction, due to the law of state tranferece, she will also not have attraction towards you. Just stand in a mall or club for a day without approaching, and make distinctions between the women you would like to approach and women whom you wont.
Blunder #4 - Canned Lines
Controversial one, but I dont think canned lines is good for your pickup. It makes you robotic, scripted and incongruent. Learn how to make a basic and direct, cold read opener that is spontaneous and genuine.
Blunder #5 - Hiding Sexual Attraction
Back to state transference again, if we show her and lean into our sexual attraction for her, we will transfer and make her have the same feelings for us. Never be embarrassed or shameful. Solution is to gunwitch and understand congruence.
Blunder #6 - Bad Body Langauge
In your approaches, you have to maintain laser eye contact to transfer state, face her so that you catch her attention and smile so that you are not a threat. If you fail to do any of those things, you need to work on your body language.
Blunder #7 - Number < Insta Date
A phone bandit is someone who tries to go for the phone number every single set. Instead of becoming a phone bandit, try to ask logistical questions first to see if an insta date is viable before grabbing the number.
Blunder #8 - Minimum Wage Onitis / Fixation
Stop approaching women who are working, or fixating upon approaching that one girl you really like. If you are reading this post and I struck multiple points with you, you are not skilled enough to pull off these approaches.
Blunder #9 - Approach Anxiety
If you have approach anxiety, expect your approaches to go subpar. Anxiety takes you out of state, when you're not in state you can't be in the present moment and let everything "flow." The solution is to get into state by getting rejected.
Blunder #10 - Did Not Stack Cold Reads
To quickly get over the beginning "akward" stage of the conversation when the girl is still evaluating who you are, quickly relate with her by stacking a lot of cold reads at once, this foces you to talk about things that will be relavant to the girl and build trust.
Blunder #11 - Ejected Before The 5 Minute Mark
If you do not get an instant blowout, and the girl seems like she is "assessing" you, you should not leave the set prior to 5 minuets. Hook point takes a minimum of 5 minutes, and you can't evaluate if a set is a winner or not.
Blunder #12 - Did Not Do A Round Of Q/DQ
With every set, aim to do a round of qualification and disqualifcation as fast as possible after hook point occurs. This is the setup to frames, and helps keep the interest high so that she will commit to the first date.
Blunder #13 - Don't Know What Is Hook Point
Hook point is when you can clearly tell when a girl is attracted to you. Depending on if the set achieves hook point or not, the way you'll be treating the set is really different. Please take some time and recognize the indicators, or even better, create some of your own.
Enjoy,
