I went out solo for the third time today to a local bar. The first time I just kept to myself and didn't do much. I just had a beer and booked it. I didn't really didn't see too much in the crowd. The second time I opened, I just introduced myself to someone and booked it as I had plans to play poker with some friends that night and that lady didn't give any IOIs.

This time I decided to do something different and try to be more open to conversing with anyone.

I sat down at the bar next to a middle aged couple and started chatting with them. On hindsight, they were my safety zone, a place I felt I could come back to with no issues. They bought me a beer which is awesome. This was the first time someone I just met bought me a beer. I must be pretty cool. Anyways, I only opened one set as it is a tiny ass bar. I ordered a "specialty" drink from the bar tender. I basically asked him what his favorite drink to make was and I ordered it. Some cute girl across the bar was there with a friend and she asked me if the drink was good as I was making my way to the restroom to piss. I told her yes it was good and I finished my piss. On the way back the girls were in my 'spot' so I opened the other girl.

Me: Are you buying her drink this round?

Her: Yes.

Me: [grinning] Wow, you're such a good friend. You're way too good for her!

Her: Excuse me, you are being rude!

Me: You'd think so, but no.

Her: You should get away from me.

At this point she pushes me away and I reclaim my prime bar spot next to the middle aged couple and continue our conversation where we left off (our conversation ranged from their kids, to their hobbies to music they liked, etc.)

She keeps lightly bumping into me as I converse with the couple. I assume she is trying to get my attention and I don't validate her. She then proceeds to sit next to me to order a drink.

Me: You know you could sit anywhere in the bar and you decided to sit next to me.

Her: I would have sit anywhere else if I had a choice.

Me: There are plenty of spaces out there.

She ignores me at this point and I am thorough talking with her.

I'm not used to this kind of behavior. Any suggestions? Again, this is the first time I've gotten a seemingly totally negative response from an opening. Most day game openings I've had have been at the very least pleasant and cordial.

Anyways, I'm not bummed out about this, I just want feedback!

edit:Just wanted to add that my intended target wasn't the girl I was talking to, my actual target was her friend.
