Hello seddit
Most of the time I will walk side by side with the girl. I think that the way we use the space is really important in sending the right message.
However there are some things that I don't understand and maybe you could help me make sense of them.
- 1. Walking by the "dangerous side" of the street. I think that this mean walking by the side the cars are coming. Does this imply changing sides often to "protect" her in case you are crossing a street?.
My answer is that is context dependant, so if you see that there are cars that are not stoping it is even more important to do so in order to show her that you put yourself there to protect her and be ready to shout and possibly start any physical confrontation in case things escalate to that point. Be it bycicles, cars, bikes, people.
- 2. Entering places: In a group going first, (at least in western society), can conveys power, the person who enter first is the person leading. In a two person scenario the person that goes behind I think conveys protection???, I say cover the other person for "any harm that comes behind"; for example, going into a restaurant. The girls walk in first, and then I have to take the lead again or is it better to lead all the way in?.
Again I will say that is context dependent if the girls seems to doubt, go on in and lead her, if she is super excited to go in... I don't know, I will say let her go in first, but I want to convey that I am leading so maybe the right answer is to always go in first?.
- 3. Going up stairs. I usually like to go behind because booty... however I don't know if this is the right answer. On one hand I think I am being too obvious, and again I am loosing the lead. Do I want to walk in front?, I know that in a crowded place I want, what about other places?, if we are going up to my aparment I will let her go up first just to increase the tension.
Questions:
Do I want to convey that I am leading all the time, or sometimes I want to make her feel like she is leading?
Is leading more important in certain context than others?, going out in a club, crowded place, doing something new/exciting.
If I go on the street and a guy say something to the girl I am going with what should I do, my instinct say something along the lines of grab the girl and say fuck off. But again I think is context dependent, I don't want to make the girl think that I think she is not capable of defending herself, nor I want her to feel like she is not protected.
Well I am sure there isn't any rule of thumb for these human relations things, but any feedback that you could give me I will really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance seddit.
