I was about to ask out this girl I like when she brought up a friend of hers that asked her some time ago. He's around my age (20-21) and saying he doesn't have his life quite together is an understatement. She said she doesn't date guys who are younger than her in general and usually goes for older guys like 5 years older because they usually have their lives together according to her. Judging by her ex though, he was older but didn't have his life together afaik; no goals or anything.

This was impeccable timing too. She brought it up as we were nearing her place where I was going to ask.
