So I’ll try and make this as short as possible. I really liked this girl at work and later found out she liked me too so we eventually exchanged numbers. She seemed really into me and the text convos started out great (I tried to avoid text conversations as much as possible as I feel I gets mundane after a while). We eventually met out for drinks and made out in the parking lot and brought her back to my place. We watched Netflix and continued to make out and I tried to make a move for sex but she stopped me. No big deal and I didn’t push any further. Overall, the date went great and there were no awkward moments and she was displaying signs of high interest (playing with her hair, talking her ear off, laughing at my lame jokes etc). She even tried paying for our dinner and drinks but we ended up splitting it and she even bought me donuts at the end of the night.
We see each other at work a few days later and everything seems well with us. She’s talking to me, hugging me, putting me in her orbit, etc. She invited me to go to the fair with her girl friend but I declined because I felt it was more of a hang out rather than a date. So I suggested we meet next week if she’s free and she agreed. A few days go by and she’s texting me less but then sends me a text wondering how my day is going and we make small talk. Nothing interesting really. I then see her at work again and everything still seems to be going well and I ask her what her schedule looks like on Tuesday and she said she was doing stuff in the afternoon but to “let her know”. I thought about it then asked her the next day if she would like to go bowling and she agreed. However, I did not set a time and place and just suggested we should do it. This is where I think I went wrong, in my opinion.
So two days go by and I did not see her at work but decided to give her a call to discuss the logistics the day before the date. The call went straight to voicemail so I assumed she was busy. I sent her a text asking if 7:30pm would work and I would most likely be in her city around that time so I suggested picking her up at her place. Not a single response. But she sure had time to post on her snapchat story and be active on social media.
So just to help you guys out, here’s where I think I went wrong: 1) Yes, I understand too much texting kills attraction and you should mainly focus on trying to set a date instead of mindless texting/calling. But I believe I was not building enough anticipation and was texting her too little. I also believe the text convos became very boring, especially after the first date. From what I’ve seen, in this day in age, texting has become the new way of flirting and building anticipation. 2) The way I went about setting the date was not as dominant. I pretty much suggested an activity but did not bring up a time and place but had to think of my schedule before hand so I called her the day before. Maybe this was a bad approach but not entirely sure. This probably left her thinking that she should just make other plans instead. 3) Maybe she just had an epiphany and realized she just didn’t see herself going out with me again and in that case, there’s really nothing I could’ve done.
Anyway, it’s been almost two days and still no response from her at all. I’ll see how she reacts when I see her at work again and who knows, maybe she’ll explain. If not, well she’s a shitty person for doing what she did. At the end of the day, it’s her loss and not mine.
