Crack a a joke about something in her bio, her name etc. make sure it’s a tease and not rude or overly sexual. if she says she likes something such as Harry Potter and you’ve read Harry Potter.. ask her, what’s your patronus and why? Something along those lines.

If her bio is something generic like “ I like the office, take me ____, Snapchat/ig:” she’s copying other people’s profiles, and probably not that interesting anyway I’d avoid those.

I have had most success with making a comment or question about something in their pictures, e.g. if they are on a hiking trip with a view, asking where it was taken. Just some simple question to get the chat starting. Not necessarily working in Every case though

How good is your profile? Your profile should be doing the heavy lifting so that you would get away by sending something like "hello there"

If you're trying to entertain or hook in your first message you're already losing.

The mainstream advice is to say something funny and friendly that she will answer to, well that's crap advice. You can, if you feel like it, but you shouldn't have to.
