Tell me if I did anything wrong. In a nutshell, I never talked to her before, went up to her in front of her friends. This is the conversation.

"Excuse me, are you in stats?"

(somewhat smiling)

"Yes I am, are you?"

"I was but I had to drop it because it didnt fit my schedule. Is your name XX by the way? Because I recall your name being called and I just saw your post on my friends facebook"

(Now shes kind of smiling but looks a little serious as if she isnt super excited about me but hey, its a random converstaion with a stranger)

And now basically I ask her about her major, what teachers are good and stuff and then she says goodbye in a friendly way. About 15 min later, I look over to her table and see her and her friends all looking at me which means they were talking about me. Now I ask the experts, is this good and how did I do overall? Also, how should I proceed?
