Getting into the game this past week, I was thinking about material to use in the worst case scenario to deal with overly hostile women. I got to use it and laid it on thick. Did I go too far?

I approached a set consisting of a guy, an 8, a 7 and a 6. I thought I had seen the 6 out the night before because she had a very distinct look (red hair, freckles, pointed features) and chatted with her the previous night. That was my opener: "Nice to see you made it out again." She gave me the 'you're a dumb idiot' look and said I was wrong. Whatever, conversation continued as I established repoire with the others. I was negging the 8 for being a vegetarian and making bland Chipotle orders and the 6 kept chiming in, calling me an idiot, being insulting, and being rude (despite having good fun with everyone, all of us laughing and kind of pushing each other -- this set was drunk). After enough of the ankle biting from the 6:

Me: "man you were a lot more fun last night."

Her: "look, I don't know what type of routine you are trying to pull on me but it's just not going to work so save it for someone else."

GO TIME

Me: "I save my routines for people I'm actually interested in talking to."

Her: Blank stare

I decided to release the floodgates. The following came out like butter.

Me: "I thought I saw you last night, my mistake. Are you always this friendly to people you meet? You must have some other redeeming qualities. It's nice of your friends to take you out with them. These are your friends, right? You have people that like to spend time with you? Good well I'll give you back to them and now that I've seen you more clearly I'll be sure to never ask you if I've seen you out before."

The rest of the set was actually smiling at me as I made eye contact with the 8 and left. Lost the set, but kept my pride. How does seddit handle a hostile like this?
