I'm in Hong Kong for a few days. I went to LKF, a neighborhood comprising four blocks of bars and clubs, and I'm not sure there's any other place like this in the world. People drink and talk in huge crowds in the street. This is the dream of anybody who wants to do a hundred approaches but doesn't like clubs. Everyone is a foreigner or speaks good English.
First, I did a few approaches to get warmed up. "Are you going home or going out?", "Are you coming over here to listen to the live music? No? Why don't like music?" Then I was approached by another single guy--he basically used an opener on me and we later started approaching groups together.
First group--he opened with something situational, saying he was locked out of his room, "Where should I go?", "What should I do until 6?" The guy of the group immediately tried to AMOG us by out-gaying us--fortunately he was actually gay, so he wasn't so set on making us go away. My wing was flirting with him, saying "I'm british, you can't out-gay me!" I just shut up, but kinoed him slightly (hand on his shoulder), "just kidding, I'm not actually gay."
The guy left and one girl was talking to my wing, another to me. It was okay but I don't think any of us felt a genuine connection. The girls left after 5-10 minutes. I could have asked for a phone number, but I'm leaving too soon.
I opened the next group of three girls. "What's with this club? Why are so many people outside?... Is it good? I bet it's full of men, so you'll be able to dance with anybody you want!" (Is that a terrible thing to say? They said, "Noooo, there are more girls.") My wing walked over, and the girls attention completely shifted to him. Among the good looking young European and American guys, I have to admit I'm probably a 4 or 5. My wing was probably a 10. So he got most of the attention, and two of the girls floated away, leaving a HB9 to talk to him and me standing awkwardly. I decided to extricate myself after a few minutes.
Last group I asked about how much a taxi should cost, and "Did I get ripped off?" Not a very interesting opener, I know. But some club-promoter stepped into the group and stood in front of me and tried to get the girls to come to his club. They weren't having it, and I was amused about how much of a prick/sleaze he was. How could I have AMOG'd him? He was just standing six inches in front of me. Should I have put my arm around his shoulder?
When I went home, I was bummed about my appearance and looks. I will have to re-evaluate how I dress and my hair style, I know it can be improved. I can't work out for a few months. But I don't think I like having a wing-man that's orders of magnitude more handsome than me.
