How can I counter manipulation?

It isn't manipulation. It's just standard female behavior. Women are in the mood to flirt and meet you one day, and not the next. It's the same when you're in a relationship. You will realize when they're ovulating versus menstruating how differently they will behave towards you. You just have to get okay with the idea that women don't communicate like men and they have more variability. Basically, don't worry about it, it's how women are. Especially in the very early stages of dating. This long gaps in messages is completely normal and almost all women do it to various degrees. They aren't trying to, they just act this way based on how they feel. I think it's also a potential subconscious test on their end. To see if you're needy or desperate. They give you some space. Do you respect it or do you double text? If you give them space in return you "passed" and then they might want to meet up now that they know you're not needy. If you, on the other hand, blew up their phone with 5 messages, then they know you're needy and thus attraction goes down.

Theoretically if you are always straight shooting and saying what you want and feel you can’t be manipulated. I’ll give an example. If you meet a woman and you want to have sex with her, but you don’t literally say this, instead you say let’s get to know each other. You are in this instance manipulating, so it is only normal for her to go out with you flake on dates, send mixed signals use you for attention whatever manipulative things you hate. You are both playing games. If you were to tell her I think you are hot let’s go to my place I want to have sex with you, there is a yes or a no basically. By being direct you force others to be so too and you basically eliminate the option of manipulation. Ofcourse this is not a usual way of doing things but hopefully you get my point which is that the more we try to get what we want without being honest, so the more we manipulate ourselves the more others will do so to us
