Agreed. I think more guys need to take a few months off, disconnect a little bit and focus more on just the people and situations around them. Take a coworker out for a beer, focus on their hobby, go to a charity event, donate some time to homeless shelter. I think the specific "what-ifs" of this crime are not worth discussing. We have no idea if one defense or another would've been successful with a woman. I've had a number of run ins with the fitness crowd over my unpopular opinion that excessive working out is almost certainly a form of self-abuse not unlike anorexia. Exactly. If the man had a messed up boarding pass and the black lady had the right one, would the black woman have stood up for him? Who knows. It may be an issue of character, but I seriously doubt it is race/sex related. I find it laughable that anyone in the current atmosphere of security drama at airports should be expected to defend a random person on the airplane...let alone one who apparently has the wrong boarding pass.

I think behind the veil of the internet, and on a subreddit dedicated to an issue, it's nearly impossible to keep from veering a little towards the extreme. As a complete newcomer to the concept of men's rights, this was a real eye opener to me. The pay gap was always something I sort of took for granted. Of course, I don't think you need to be anti-womens rights to be pro-mens rights....but I definitely think the TRUTH should reign supreme.

You make a really interesting point, perhaps one of the strongest on this comment page. I have found in the case of certain women in my life who have been raped that they refuse to stand up for "the next victim" in favor of their own "right to choose" about prosecution. It's the most confusing strain of feminism to me. It on one hand purports to be pro-women, but is in reality just another brand of ego-worship and narcissism dolled up in political rhetoric. It's always a nightmare when the handful of people who actively read and learn about a subject are suddenly joined (thanks to the popular media) by thousands of idiots who have no business participating in the discourse. If people would take the time to read literature from both sides, they'd probably end up with a somewhere-in-between view that acknowledges men as human being rather than a faceless mob of monsters.
