They need to move up the election by a month so he can tackle the situation in the Middle East before someone nukes someone else off the map. November may be too late ...
/r/PurplePillDebate01/10/24 03:37 PM

Have you looked at the news lately? The Middle East is experiencing a meltdown and the current administration (OF WHICH KAMALA IS A PART) is clearly unable to get a handle on things. Ditto the situation in Ukraine. My fear is that it will be too late even if Trump is elected.

Radical concept, I know.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/10/24 03:09 PM

I was thinking along the same lines. When your sexuality consists of watching thousands of hours of pornographic content and touching yourself like a 14-year-old boy, is that really something you should feel good about?!
/r/PurplePillDebate01/10/24 01:31 PM

No, he's a man. He does the man stuff around here. I do the woman stuff. It just runs smoother that way.

No, he's too useful! He also has amazing sexy eyes and works his ass off to take care of all of us. He even cleans the cat box, lol.

LOL! Yes. He's a pain in the ass, but he's my pain in the ass, I guess.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/09/24 02:19 PM

Yeah. He brings enough to the table that I'm willing to put up with his untidiness. That was not always the case with my four ex-husbands ...
/r/PurplePillDebate30/09/24 02:18 PM

You are a single mother's dream, lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/09/24 01:23 PM

Sounds like depression. Conventional wisdom is to go to the doc and get a pill. I'd say do SOMETHING even if it's wrong!
/r/PurplePillDebate30/09/24 01:17 PM

Was saddened to hear of the passing of Kris Kristofferson, a true Renaissance man for our times. Also because in this video he bears an uncanny resemblance to my first husband, so it's like seeing Glenn again for a moment.

/r/PurplePillDebate30/09/24 01:07 PM

My second husband enjoyed golfing and wanted me to take it up, too, and I was willing. He started by taking me to a mini golf course to teach me how to putt. We played one game and I beat him ... and that was the end of my golfing lessons, lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/09/24 01:03 PM

We just have to suppress anything that isn't facts. Our facts. Dissent cannot be tolerated! We will tell you what to think and you will be happier and healthier for it. Amirite?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/09/24 01:02 PM

I recall reading that in Canada, a social worker was giving disabled people who came to him for help (with things like having a wheelchair ramp installed at their home) information about MAID (the government's euthanasia program) instead. When this came to light, he was quickly shuffled off stage, I guess for saying the quiet part out loud ...

You have to bring something to the table. When a wife earns less, she usually does other things that provide value in the relationship, like housework and childcare. When men aren't working, or working very much, they seldom pick up the slack on the homefront. I saw this firsthand when I was a housecleaner. If the wife in a client couple lost her job or took time off, usually I'd be told that my services were no longer needed, but if the husband were sidelined, I'd go on working as long as they …

One time I complained that I had nagged my boyfriend a million times to do things like rinse out his cereal bowl or take care of his dirty laundry. "It's not that I don't hear you; I just don't obey," he replied. I think that about sums it up.

Thanks! Art Deco isn't really my jam so this one will probably be going on the marketplace, furthering my goal of owning every pretty thing for 15 minutes, lol. My best find was this photo or print of an old hardware store window https://imgur.com/yTh9y3k . It reminded me of Walker Evans' work (I'm a fan). A Google image search didn't turn up anything so its provenance is a bit of a mystery. The frame appears to be modern; I'm going to take the back off today to try to get a read on whether it's…

Today I have to sort through my latest auction haul, which includes an 1863 map of Florida, some pretty albeit tarnished silverplate, a huge brass urn, lots of crockery, a green glass Art Deco bowl, a wooden ironing board and an MCM end table in need of refinishing. Just for fun, I'm planning to nail these https://imgur.com/kUIBrev to our headboard and bathroom door, lol.

I can't believe we're not even out of September yet; I already feel like I've been cleaning that damned school FOREVER! Yesterday I noticed that one of my teachers has a bulletin board labeled "Birthday's." I would have needed to find a step stool to correct it, so I decided ... not my job! (Thankfully, it was NOT the teacher who has a Ph.D.)

Could Google stan any harder for Biden/Harris if it tried? I just searched for "housing starts under the Biden administration" and got four pages of press releases extolling all of the wonderful handouts proposed to rescue the housing market, which had to be crushed under the Federal Reserve's bootheel to try to stem the inflation caused by government overspending. I rolled my eyes so hard I saw God. Edited to add: So I decided to run a little experiment. I Googled "Did the number of SNAP users …

Western civilization's downfall may very well be its failing attempt to force women to behave like men in order to break the trade unions and have a cheaper and more compliant workforce.

I hope you're on high ground! It's been a very dry summer and I'm worried we're in for another year like '18, when it started raining in October and didn't stop until the following summer. We had just bought our current farm property and lordy, it was a mess! I hate mud.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 12:24 PM

I've always felt that I'm going to fall and break a hip on the way to the barn and they'll find me in the spring when the snow melts.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 12:21 PM

Oh geez, I am triggered. Last spring one of my co-workers died suddenly, evidently in her sleep. We all assumed she had had a stroke or heart attack (she was nearing 60 and a heavy smoker). Just recently I met a family member of hers. I mentioned how much we had enjoyed working with his niece and how shocked we had been by her sudden death as she hadn't complained of any symptoms like chest pains, etc. He told me it was fentanyl. I was floored.

I feel bad that my man has six more newly-hatched ducklings to co-parent. It's a lot of work! He just got four successfully raised to adolescence and now has a new batch to watch over and shepherd around. Many sleepless nights will be spent going out to check on who is WHEEP WHEEP WHEEPing when they've become separated from the tour group. It's hard work being a Duck Daddy!
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/24 01:39 PM

The planet is dying, You do realize estimates indicate the Earth has been much colder and hotter at various points in geological history (before humans were advanced enough to have anything to do with it), and we only have accurate data from the past 150 years. So, based on 150 years of data for a planet that is 4.5 billions years old, you've concluded it is dying?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/24 01:21 PM

Depending on how they grew up they may have been parentified and don’t want the responsibility any more My mom was this way, second of 8 kids. I was an 'oopsie' born when she was 31, 14 years into her marriage to my dad. Needless to say, I was an only child, lol. I also have the maternal instincts of a parking meter, and had better birth control than my mom evidently did. No babies for me!

That can be exploited as tax cattle. Read some government reports and you'll see that we're regarded rather as livestock. SCOTUS Justice ACB's use of the phrase "domestic supply of infants" is an example.

Or a man who would have had all kinds of casual sex if he had been attractive or popular. This cuts both ways. Some women are only low-N because they're not very pretty and men seldom approached them.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/24 03:45 PM
2

What I was trying to get at was the idea that a low-N person is assumed to have sexual values that are somehow purer and more virtuous than someone who has had lots of promiscuous sex ... when in reality they may have watched thousands of hours of porn, including truly vile stuff. Would the vile porn-watcher be more "pure" than a man or woman who has only had missionary-position sex? Where do you draw the line?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/24 01:33 PM
1

Oh do tell! You were married to a man who never popped your cherry?!
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/24 11:50 AM
1

I think it is pretty common to want someone sexually compatible with you, no matter your gender. Are you saying that men want a woman who has watched as much porn as they have?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/24 11:48 AM
2

It's actually not a great way. You have to take opportunity into account as well. Maybe she's low-N because she's not terribly attractive thus not many men approached her. Perhaps she would have been a turboslut had she been prettier! Never mistake virtue for the lack of opportunity.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/24 11:47 AM
5

So how would you evaluate the "sexual values" of a man who's a virgin but has watched approximately 30,000 hours of porn?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/24 11:45 AM
3

First, we should make sure our values and ideas about sex align, This presumes that you turned down lots of opportunities to have sex because of your "values and ideas." Somehow I doubt that's often the case. Never mistake virtue for the lack of opportunity.

The school was on red alert one day this week following a threat which was eventually deemed non-credible. I grumbled to my man that our school cop is so fat that he can barely waddle across the parking lot and probably wouldn't be up to tackling an intruder. "Well, at least you could hide behind him," my man replied. There is THAT, I guess!

Upholstery SCARES me! LOL Right now I'm just painting things in a faux Pottery Barn finish I learned from an online tutorial (look up Black Sheep House on YouTube). Super easy and fun! Buying and flipping stuff is one of my hobbies. I'm always running across interesting shit but my house is small so I'm constantly winnowing my collection! But wouldn't they keep him if he was that good? There's this idea that ordinary girls are going around fucking Chads, but that was not my experience at all. The GQ-model-tier guys get with their counterparts, the Stacies. They are not at all interested in us mortal women, lol. I don't think I've ever been with a guy who wasn't my looksmatch.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/09/24 01:53 AM

Six days until my annual yard sale, shit is starting to get real! I have four furniture refinishing projects in various states of completion. I love painting furniture SO MUCH, I just want to do it all the time! I may need a bigger house here, lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/09/24 01:44 AM

ROTFL!
/r/PurplePillDebate09/09/24 01:42 AM

I've always found it funny that if a kid graduates college with $30K in student debt, the general perception is that it's a millstone around his neck; he'll never be able to buy a house or start and family, and he'll probably die without repaying it unless Uncle Sam swoops in and cancels it. If OTOH a young person goes out and buys a $30K SUV, no one gets their knickers in a twist!

You really HAVE to have a master's to get anywhere in psychology or social work, I think. And teaching usually pays better if you have a master's (although I've heard that it can make it harder to get hired, as districts can pay applicants with only a bachelor's degree less, which makes them more attractive from a financial standpoint). My school has at least one elementary teacher with a Ph.D. Why you need a Ph.D. to teach 7-year-olds is beyond me ... (This is the same teacher who has a poster …

Most women aren't getting a GQ model, though. The men I had casual sex with weren't higher-quality than the ones I married. The difference was that the guys I didn't pursue a LTR with either weren't very intelligent or had some other dealbreaker, like incompatible hobbies or smoking. Tell me about it; I'm a janitor! As a young person, my high I.Q. never got me anywhere, except I guess I got excused from some classes in junior high and allowed to spend the time in the library instead. Otherwise ... no. I mean, it would have been nice if a school counselor had taken 5 minutes out of her busy day to say, "Here is how you apply to colleges." Because I wanted to go, and had no clue, lol. The problem is that often the mother can't support the child adequately on her own. The question then becomes: do we expect the biological father to step up, or society as a whole? I'd vote in favor of the dad. He at least got a screw out of the deal, whereas society didn't get so much as a kiss!

Also at the steam show yesterday, the Revolutionary War reenactors did a little skit involving a call-to-arms, after which they marched off in formation behind a drummer. He instantly pantomimed a women throwing her skirts up over her head and running after the men squealing, "Hey boys! Anyone want to invade Poland?" I hurt myself laughing.

Seems appropriate here ... texts between my boyfriend and I the other day: Me: Stopping at Dollar General for milk on the way home. Him: I got milk already. Me: Stopping at Dollar General for cute hair clips then. Him: I did not get cute hair clips. Me: I'm not feeling the love here.

My position is that having reasoning, analysis, critical thinking, logic, ethics, and rhetorical skills at a relatively advanced level is highly advantageous and indeed fundamental to a society in the Information Age and beyond. Once again, anyone who has the inclination can study philosophy to their heart's content. The fact that not many do suggests that most people aren't really interested in acquiring those skills. Of course you can try to drum it into them in school, but what's the old sayi…

The problem with this is that having a well-educated population is of benefit to society even if that education doesn’t lead directly to employment at a higher wage. I disagree. Obviously, people need to know the fundamentals, but let's be honest: once you learn to read well, you can pretty much learn anything your heart desires, thanks to public libraries and the Internet. If the average person isn't a towering intellectual genius, it's not because the wisdom of the ages wasn't available in his…

1) free 100% public 100% secular education at all levels. 2) Mandatory education 3-18,then you choose between university or vocational training. This sounds great but the problem is that the U.S. already has more college graduates than its economy can absorb. I've read that only about 4 in 10 college grads are doing jobs that actually require specialized skills or college-level knowledge. So preparing even more people for jobs that don't actually exist doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Th…

Black people in shitty public schools is the problem and, again, it cannot be remedied at college. You need to fix K-12 This will never happen as long as teachers and Democratic politicians are in bed together. I have concluded that the only way forward is to set up alternate systems, like public charter or private schools, to run alongside failing public ones. The only way you're ever go…

Kids who are admitted to programs when they’re objectively less qualified than their peers (as measured by test scores) are often the ones paradoxically hurt by AA, because they are more likely to fail or drop out and have wasted time and money on that education. Awhile back, I read a piece about minority students who are admitted to elite colleges despite not having the grades or high test scores usually needed for admittance. Their eventual outcomes were ... not good. I concluded that the true…

Don’t just assume your flair will clue people into your beliefs. If you actually want to have a real conversation, you need to be more upfront about your worldview, values, priorities, etc. Why? To make it easier for people to engage in ad-hominen attacks? I believe an idea should stand (or fail) on its own merits, without regard to the person espousing it. JMO.

I guess this is nothing new. I mean, you can go back to the time around the turn of the last century, and find Lincoln, Garfield and McKinley all assassinated in about a 50-year span. TR was famously shot before giving a speech and (IIRC) proceeded to speak for nearly an hour with the bullet in him! It's depressing to think that things have always been pretty awful, but ,,,,,. Edited: McKinley not Harding. Harding was more likely to have been shot by an angry husband, lol.

I actually read somewhere that there was an attempt on Bill Clinton when he was traveling in (IIRC) Asia. Endow a scholarship. You have the ability to change the trajectory of people's lives for generations. I've seen it firsthand. My mother grew up in a working-class family. One of her sisters married a man who, despite being a shop rat himself, insisted his daughters go to college. All three did, and married college-educated men. Their kids in turn went to college and are UMC professionals today. The rest of us are still pushing brooms. Be the guy that makes that happen for somebody!

That is great! I had no idea how to go about applying for scholarships and when my parents told me they wouldn't even cooperate by sharing their financials so I could apply for student loans, I figured I didn't have much of a chance. I was able to attend a CC for a few semesters later, after I was married, but by then I was already working a patchwork of full- and part-time jobs, which made scheduling classes extremely difficult. Also, at the time I lived in northern Michigan where opportunities…

Cooking is good! I was 15 when my parents told me they weren't helping me with college. In my sophomore year, I switched from taking all college prep classes to autoshop and electronics. Figured I'd better learn how to DO stuff as it didn't look like I was going to be able to get the kind of job that would allow me to hire others to do things for me. I regret that they didn't drop the bomb on me a year earlier, as I would have had time to take welding too!

I'm a school custodian, so those are the restrooms I clean, and I certainly haven't encountered the conditions that you describe here, even on game nights when we have hundreds of adults in the building. I forgot to add that last year the boys had a thing going in the locker room where they'd take some poor kid's vape pen and flush it down the toilet. And needless to say, they don't shit in the urinal or draw dicks all over the place either. I could get away with mopping the girls' rooms once or twice a week with a little spot-mopping in front of the sinks in between. The boys' had to be mopped every night, and o…

It's one of the ways cows announce that they're in estrus. (Cows are the original bi chicks!) Usually the cow on bottom is in standing heat and should be bred right away; the cow on top is probably coming into heat; you want to keep an eye on her and breed her in about 12 hours (although some cows are just horny and will continue riding even if they're already bred, so it isn't a perfect indicator). Incidentally, cows will exhibit this behavior even if there is a bull in the herd to service them…

Today we said goodbye to our girl goat, Hula, who had been in failing health for awhile ... most likely her heart. (We have been down this road before.) Her end came peacefully in the paddock where she had spent most of her life, the last 10 in the company of our old cow, Marianne, who observed her passing then went back to eating her hay. Our animals remind us that life goes on, because it must. An iconic photo of Hula from happier times: Imgur She brought us so much happiness and many moments …

/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/24 02:52 AM

My man came up with that. We were talking about someone and I made the comment (the old saying) "Always a bridesmaid, never a bride," and he said, "Hey, with you it's kind of the other way around ..." $@$&&!!!
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/24 02:51 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/24 02:49 AM

Shit I think I figured out what's wrong with this tranny and it's actually a super-simple fix (13-pin connector adapter plug O-ring) but she had my man drive it to a shop so now I don't get to play around with it and see if I'm right. Sonofabitch! OTOH, she said if it costs too much to fix, she's gonna scrap it, so maybe I can talk her into bringing it home instead and letting me fiddle with it first. She didn't take it to a Mercedes shop, just a regular mechanic, so they might not want to mess …
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/24 02:07 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/24 02:03 AM

My man is in the kitchen sobbing because he can't find the bowl he likes to use for salad. I have no idea what he's talking about and every time I suggest using a different bowl, he shrieks "NOOOOooooo" and breaks out in a fresh wave of sobs. Now he's accusing me of making him eat out of a plastic bowl like an animal. Meanwhile I'm sitting here Googling trying to figure out how to fix a transmission on an E-series Mercedes Benz. Awhile back, I shared with my man an anecdote about how Virginia Woolf had characterized poet T.S. Eliot's troublesome wife as "a bag of ferrets hung around his neck." My man laughed overly long at this, arousing my suspicions. "Say ... you don't think of me as a 'bag of ferrets,' do you?" I asked. "Maybe one ferret," he replied, still chuckling.

That's the "unborn" part of "unborn child." He or she is still developing, the way a toddler is at an earlier stage of development than a teenager. We draw arbitrary lines at "quickening" or birth, but in reality there is no point at which a normal human fetus is not a developing human being.

Are you aware that Roe V. Wade was overturned? Feminism's work is never just "over and done with," because there will always be people trying to undo the gains that were made. The ability to legally kill your unborn child ... what a gain!

When I was a herd tester, I had a Mennonite farmer who requested a male tester as he evidently followed this practice. For a few months his wife had come out to the barn at test time, but she was getting far along in her latest pregnancy and I guess didn't want to be bothered once the baby arrived. On the flip side, when I was in training my boss emphasized that if any clients sexually harassed me or even made me feel uncomfortable, to let him know and the company would back me up 100%. Luckily …

Well, yeah. (Mad respect for Cuban with what he's doing with his pharma venture.) I disagree that single-payer would be an improvement, however. At present, costs are at least somewhat constrained by reality, namely the private-sector employers who buy or subsidize policies for their workers. If premiums go too high, employers will start to drop out of the system. This was starting to snowball in the early 2000s, which is why Obamacare was passed -- to drive employers and middle-class workers ba…

We know these cues are subconscious and she couldn't tell she was doing them, The cues may be subconscious but the attraction isn't. As a woman in a LTR, I would limit my interaction with a man I found attractive, out of respect to my partner and the boundaries I've set around our relationship. If a man doesn't commit after sleeping with you, the relationship isn't going anywhere. You can keep him around as a FWB or FB, but you have to get back out there meeting new people if you want an actual relationship. Because it ain't gonna be with him! Women's unpaid labor generally isn't recognized or rewarded, though. SAHMs of my mother's generation always had to worry about their husbands ditching them for a younger woman. Everyone knows that when a man leaves you behind, he will contribution as little as possible to the support of the family that he made with you. He'll even spend thousands on attorney fees to try to reduce the amount of child support he's forced to pay. Women who ignored these realities often paid dearly for it.

/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/24 02:38 PM

The red flag to me is that we tend to trust the science, but when the underpinnings of the science are shaky ... ? I think this report exposes that possibility.

I've always thought it was strategic. You don't get very far by openly opposing your husband. He's likely to get his back up and dig in his heels. OTOH, men are generally eager to please an agreeable wife.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/05/24 04:37 AM

I touched the weeds I pulled out of the garlic patch and the 30 or so plants I repotted. Does that count?

Working at the elementary is definitely different from the middle school! Today in the hallway, a child I've never seen before in my life ran up and gave me a hug. It happened so fast I didn't have time to make the sign of the cross and hiss at her. I'll be ready next time!

My old boss was working in the trades when he and his wife got married. Then he decided he wanted to be a dairy farmer ... She spent the next 40 years milking the cows 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

I had a dream last night about being in a hotel that was on fire, so upon awakening I Googled the name of the one I used to work at 30 years ago. No, it didn't burn down, but it appears Republicans have been brawling there! Two women got into a hissy-spitty fight and a dude got kicked in the nuts. Too funny!

That isn't how female sexuality works, though. Women don't want "someone," they want the specific person they've set their sights on, and depending on how high you aim, that can sometimes feel like an achievement, lol.

One of my mothers-in-law lived with a man whose wife was in a nursing home with dementia. (All parties were in their 70s.) I didn't hold it against them because she was in a bad spot financially (having sold her house and spent all of her money on her ne'er-do-well youngest son) and the man, a kindly gentleman, was evidently lonely. (IME, men of that generation did not fare well without having a woman to take care of them.)
/r/PurplePillDebate21/04/24 01:19 AM

This is sad. Are you in danger? Are you a minor? Can you let a school counselor or resource officer know what's going on?

Worked 14 hours yesterday but had to be up early this morning as my man and I had promised to help our farm neighbor shear her flock. Before I was even fully awake, I found myself stumbling around a high pasture, tilting green earth beneath a violently blue sky, steering jogging ewes and their gamboling lambs into the barn as C. chased them on her lawn tractor while her useless collie pup, its singular brain cell activated in Bark mode, remained tethered to a bumper. (Sigh.) A hired gun, the she…

Here's an interesting thought. The "mass murder of innocent strangers," as you put it, is (thankfully) rather rare. Its incidence is a statistical blip in a country of 330 million people. Pornography, even rather extreme content, is quite commonly viewed, though, isn't it? I mean, how many people are entirely unfamiliar with 'Tubgirl' or 'Two Girls, One Cup'?

Is there some subsection of people that are destined to be middle aged losers. The problem lies in the fact that most people measure success in terms of money, and while it's a pretty good yardstick most of the time, it also comes up short in some ways.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/04/24 12:49 PM

A joke (paraphrased) that I read here the other day: A newlywed couple on vacation buys a beautiful parrot as a souvenir and takes it back to their hotel room, where they soon find it has one bad habit: making raunchy comments whenever they have sex. Finally the frustrated husband throws a towel over its cage, threatening to put the bird in the icebox if it doesn't shut up. On the last day of the trip, the wife is packing to leave and can't close their overstuffed suitcase. The husband suggests,…
/r/PurplePillDebate14/04/24 12:42 PM

OMG, I saw a woman in a restaurant yesterday who quite possibly had the biggest boobs I've ever seen. The problem was that she was middle-aged and they were down around her waist! :-o She reeeeally needed a good bra ... Once again I was thankful the good Lord didn't overly endow me in that department (and I resisted my second husband's insistence that I get a boob job).
/r/PurplePillDebate14/04/24 12:28 PM

Is there someone from before your time that you'd love to have known? I nominate this guy. A couple of his works are up for auction right now in a Slotin art gallery sale. They sell for thousands now -- if I had "mad money," I'd buy one, just because. He has been such an inspiration to me.

Torrents of rain, now the wind is banging around out there. February was nice. Can we have February back?!
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/24 04:43 PM

My boyfriend is surveying the damage out at the farm. Our creek has been promoted to River, having carried 18 stall mats and two railroad ties the length of a football field. The barn stayed dry, though, and all of our cows are still upright. so I guess I'll call it a win. Even the ducks are getting tired of this weather!

My guess would be that bullies and narcissists may be more sexually successful because they're brash. They don't attach excessive importance to other people, thus they're probably less reluctant to shoot their shot. Having an overinflated sense of self-worth probably leads to less fear of rejection. I mean, who would reject me?! /s
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/24 02:59 PM

We're getting rainfall of Biblical proportions here. A nearby town is flooded and there are reports that a floating Dumpster is bouncing around it like a pinball. Yikes! On the plus side, with all of this rain, the grass is growing faster than the cows can keep up with it!

Most women wear makeup, so if you want to look like everyone else and blend in, you have to wear it so as not to attract undue attention to yourself. For instance, if you have a public-facing job, it's probably important to be at least somewhat pleasing (or at least not jarring) to the eye, or you may find yourself replaced by someone who is.

And women can usually earn more working as servers.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/04/24 12:42 AM

Interesting. I was thinking in some ways it would be easier to be FTM than MTF because women can more easily be androgynous. No one bats an eyelash if a woman has short hair, doesn't wear makeup and dresses in jeans and hoodies. She isn't necessarily making a statement about her gender; it's not unusual.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/04/24 12:23 AM

Women generally work cheaper than men and are more compliant. WW2's "Rosie the Riveter" proved that they can do jobs that were once thought to be the province of men. Why wouldn't TPTB want them in the workforce? Especially in the 1960-70s, when we had a population explosion thanks to the Baby Boom. All we have to do now is open our southern border and we'll have all of the workers we need. Heck, we're already doing it! Getting teenaged and young adult immigrants are a boon because you don't hav…

I'm glad she's OK! That is scary AF. Here's a tip I'm borrowing from a savvy poster who shared it in another thread awhile back. You may want to pass it along to your stepdaughter. If a man is targeting you with unwanted attention, pick your nose. It ruins the allure.

Last night at work, our school's star basketball player showed up with her boyfriend, said they had permission from her coach/gym teacher to shoot some hoops. I said sure, go for it! One of the other custodians was grumbling but I said, hey, isn't this the most wholesome activity these kids could be up to at 10 p.m. on a Thursday night? I mean, when I was 17, playing basketball with my boyfriend was the furthest thing from my mind! I say we let them play for as long as they want, lol.

I have probably purchased $10,000 in rocks since we bought the place in '18. The creek rises REALLY fast and will go from mild-mannered trickle to flooding our entire lower paddock! It usually goes back down within a day or two and then we can assess the wreckage, lol. One year it grabbed a couple of stall mats and dumped them in the neighbor's pasture a quarter-mile downriver. Luckily our barn always stays dry (knock wood) and the cows can go to high ground in the upper paddocks. I hate for thi…

OMG, the sky is DUMPING WATER upon us! It has rained nearly all day and into the night. My farm is a muddy mess ... the creek came up and washed away several hundred dollars' worth of gravel. Sigh. It's really hard when both people work full-time because there's no one to take up the slack, especially when there are kids in the mix. Of course, having one person stay home or work only part-time only pays off if that person is actually being a homemaker or otherwise contributing to the good of the order, and not just spending the day playing video games or running off to appointments to get their nails done and have lunch with their friends.

"Productive" at what, though? Making images that flicker across screens? Remember that the "fittest" in Darwin's "survival of the fittest" isn't necessarily the strongest, fastest or smartest; it's the most successful at reproducing.

but of any civilization that reaches this level of progress You really think we're all that and a bag of chips? The problem with falling birthrates isn't just economic stagnation but the earth being filled with less "developed" (low intelligence) people in a post-war world where even attempting to get rid of these cretins would be controversial if not impossible due to nuclear powers. Most eugenicists just want to prevent the birth of "undesirables" but you're taking things to a whole new level …

I think porn is the reason fewer young people are getting into relationships. The sex probably isn't very good for a man with "death grip," and it DAMNED sure isn't good for the woman if it goes on for 2 hours because the dude can't get off. Neither will be in a hurry to repeat the experience ...

Here's my theory: World War 2 showed the oligarchs that women could perform a lot of industrial jobs that were once the province of men. In the 1950s, the proliferation of unions also resulted in the oligarchs paying way too much (in their opinion) for labor. The obvious solution was women, who are cheaper and more compliant workers. But how to lure them out of the home and into the workforce? And how to break the unions? Welfare. Welfare was the solution. It made single motherhood (traditionall…

IME, most of the time the well-being of the children is only fleetingly regarded in the parental pursuit of sexual satisfaction. And my generation had the divorce rates to back up this claim ... We owe you kids a heartfelt apology.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/03/24 01:10 PM

I kinda disagree, if poverty is a factor in play, and abuse, mental illness and/or addiction aren't in the equation. IMO, a kid is better off growing up in a middle-class family with unhappily married parents (as long as domestic violence isn't in the picture, and neither parent is grossly defective) than in an impoverished single-parent household. I really don't think most kids care all that much about whether Daddy's penis is happy or if Mommy is getting her freak on. They want to go to school…
/r/PurplePillDebate25/03/24 01:08 PM

Ennis' wife divorces him and marries her boss. Jack and his wife stay together but toward the end of the novella, after Ennis sends Jack a letter and it comes back marked 'Deceased,' he calls Jack's wife to find out what happened. The book summarizes their conversation, "No doubt about it, she was polite but the little voice was cold as snow."

Well I got to use two of the Holy Triumvirate today, the wood chipper and splitter. My man even pitched in and helped. I let him work the lever on the splitter but if I come to a really big chunk that I can't lift, he'll heave it up in the cradle for me. Teamwork at its finest! May finish cutting up the small stuff in the morning if the nice weather holds out.

I think in earlier generations, there were more opportunities for young people to get together. I mean, teenagers of my parents' generation probably went to dances almost every weekend; nowadays, I'll bet most kids only go to homecoming and the prom, if that. My generation had disco and roller-skating rinks. I just don't see anything comparable for kids today.

Have you read the novella? It's in a collection called "Close Range." A few of the stories didn't work for me, but a couple (including BBM) were amazing. Another standout is "The Lonely Coast," narrated by a woman living through the aftermath of a failed marriage who is watching a co-worker's relationship also disintegrate. I love Proulx's writing.

I'm happy with monogamy though.

The key ingredient here is that women are a net negative for government revenue. Because women tend to live longer and collect Social Security and Medicare benefits longer than men. I'm sure this is foremost in a young woman's mind when she rejects you, lol.

I think the lack of empathy is probably less prevalent now than it was a couple of generations ago. Nowadays, a woman has little incentive to get with a guy other than the fact that she likes him. Back in the day, men were meal tickets, and women went about picking them in much the way they decide on a career path now. The hard-eyed calculations of my mother's generation left little room for sentimentality ...
/r/PurplePillDebate17/03/24 12:42 PM
1

They used to be taught how to treat men, too, but times have changed. Women are able to support themselves now; they don't need a meal ticket to provide for them in many cases, so treating men well is optional not mandatory. However, the threat of violence, rape or of being impregnated and abandoned still remain, so women are still warned about the dangers.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/03/24 12:39 PM
3

Most women would like to have a family someday and will probably be reliant on a partner to provide for them at least temporarily. A date is an audition for that role. Refusing to pay indicates you're not provider material. NEXT!

It's "degrees," not "degree's" in the above context. Apostrophes are usually found in contractions, where they take the place of the omitted letter(s), as in "don't" or "can't," or to indicate a possessive -- "Joe's shoes," "Sue's cat." I agree that in some cases a degree is more than just a credential. Not sure I'd trust a self-taught brain surgeon!

Yup! A degree is mostly just a credential, a way of signaling your middle-class background, suggesting that you understand middle-class norms and you'll fit in with the rest of the cubicle-dwellers. BTW, that should be "Who's backing" in the above context ... a contraction of "who is." Just sayin'!

Having an associates degree from an accredited institution makes one more educated than a person with no degree and a high school diploma. Not necessarily. Actually the government subsidizes wood production, so for every pound you sell (for next to nothing) you can file to receive a subsidy that is around 10x the market price (IIRC ... my sheep farmer neighbor was telling me about this awhile back. Being a working farm may also get you a break on your property taxes, and wool is a product you can sell without having to ship your animals for slaughter. Besides, sheep are cool!

Do you think there is a single thing that men have it worse than women or do you think that women must always have it worse than men in every instance? The draft. But wars are mostly a guy thing anyway. Men like to fight. About that... https://qz.com/967895/throughout-history-women-rulers-were-more-likely-to-wage-war-than-men Did you even read your own source? It said that unmarried queens were more likely to go to war because they were more likely to be attacked. LMAO

Women are murdered less than men Maybe they are less likely to take part in stupid honor culture fights that lead to drive-by shootings and the like? are 20x less likely to die at work than men, Maybe they actually follow safety protocols? I could tell you horror stories about some of the unsafe shit I've seen male co-workers pull over the years that nearly led to them being killed, usually because they were too lazy to follow a protocol that required a few extra minutes and/or steps. are 4x les…

When I met my second husband, he was 31 and living in a singlewide trailer. He was making payments on it, along with a house full of rent-to-own furniture. He had a nice Ford F-150 and a Suzuki motorcycle. The first thing I did after we got married was to pay off the furniture loan and all of his credit card debt. Then I set about buying land, getting a loan from my family and then a construction loan from a bank so he could fulfill his lifelong dream of building his own house (which was nothing…

My poor long-suffering boyfriend! He was just about to fix his eggs this morning when our hay guy called to tell us he was delivering so we had to head out to the farm to offload round bales instead. By the time we got home, he figured he might as well do barn chores before having his own breakfast. I was glad as our heifer has been in heat and is all too eager to tell the world about her sad lack of a bull. Didn't need her announcing her impending starvation as well! That they HAVE to try and go for the shallow immature headcase bitch. If she looks good, sure, because that's what men tend to prioritize, especially younger men. Interestingly though, as men become older, they often use the same "beta bux" strategy that women do, settling for a partner they don't find terribly attractive because she has fine qualities like being able to hold down a job or being a good mother to their kids.

/r/PurplePillDebate27/02/24 03:28 PM

We were working outside when a storm rolled in with driving rain. My man had put the cows' hay outside this morning, and as I ran for cover, he scrambled to fork it up and shovel it into their sheds so they didn't have to go outside to eat. When he came in looking like a drowned rat, I assured him that his sacrifice had been recorded in the Book of Male Sacrifices, on page 14,378,481. Leaning over, I whispered in his ear, "I put it in boldfaced type!"

I recently scored a large, ornate gilt picture frame that the art teacher at the school was throwing away (?!?). Currently deciding what to put in it ... I'm leaning toward Lucas Cranach the Elder's Cardinal Albrecht von Brandenburg as Saint Jerome in his study. I showed it to my boyfriend and he liked it too! Just have to find a source where I can have it printed nicely on canvas so it will be worthy of this magnificent frame, lol. God I'm a packrat!
/r/PurplePillDebate27/02/24 01:39 PM

It's a flaw that men believe women "hit the wall" because they're no longer young. "Young" is relative.

I think that most women do want to work and don’t just look for “meal tickets”. Most women don't want to go back to work 2 weeks after giving birth. So they're looking for a man with adequate resources to support them at least temporarily.

The flaw in the "men want younger women" theory is that until she hits extreme old age, a woman can always be someone's "younger woman." An "over the Wall" 40-year-old is still the "younger woman" to a 50-year-old man.

If you're looking for a life partner, you're looking for a partner to play the game of life and spend a lot of time together, don't you want the coolest, most inspirational, and most competent person to do that with? Doesn't necessarily mean they have money though!
/r/PurplePillDebate09/02/24 04:36 AM

Yeah, I'd never blame a woman who wants to have kids for trying to latch on to a good meal ticket! Raising kids in poverty sucks, from what I've seen. It's really, really hard. Mad respect for all of my friends over the years who did the best they could ...

/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 05:22 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 05:20 PM

I thought this was some kind of satire. My bad.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 05:20 PM

Obviously if you are in a longstanding relationship, it may not be wise to chuck it all over some loose skin. However, at the outset, when you're simply dating? Much less invested there.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 05:20 PM

Try to read people's expression/body language. Someone who is literally glaring at you is probably not receptive to conversation, sorry.

Oh Ghod no; NO GEESE! We have 50 freaking ducks already! Another of his bright ideas. Harrumph
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 03:55 PM

I don't think there is a difference. I do. If your initial sexual experiences are with a man who can't ejaculate without pumping for an hour (or finishing with his hand) you may not be in a hurry to repeat them.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 03:54 PM

People can break up for any reason. It would be worse to stay with someone you don't find physically attractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 03:53 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 03:42 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 03:41 PM

Is this a serious question?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 03:39 PM

She is vetting you for a long-term partner. Shows some good sense. It would have been wise for you to ask her the same (if you see this relationship going somewhere). Spenders should not marry savers and vice-versa. It's Hell!
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 03:37 PM

Do you bring it up? Sure, if you want to trigger a whole boatload of insecurities. One possibility is that she's lost a significant amount of weight and is experiencing loose skin.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 03:31 PM

He's a more adventurous gardener than I am. He falls for every seed catalog marketing pitch for some whizbang (supposedly) new plant or variety. That's how we ended up with the artichokes to begin with, lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 03:28 PM

Yes, we just went through a rough patch in January and I'm so grateful to God that our elderly cow and goat both survived it! I was worried for sure.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 03:26 PM

These are Jerusalem artichokes, sometimes called sunchokes. I call them "the Devil's daisies" because they are invasive and hard to eradicate. He planted them several years ago after falling for the hype. As it turns out, they taste like dirt. They also give you gas; hence their other nickname ... fartichokes.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 03:25 PM

The women work, lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 02:54 PM

LOL, I've spent my whole life in the Midwestern working class. Our niece's latest boyfriend/future baby daddy lists his job on FB as "pipe layer."
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 02:10 PM

I think my man is on drugs. He's talking about trying to make a bonsai out of a Jerusalem artichoke. Is that even possible? We've had four consecutive days of sunshine here which is unusual for Pittsburgh. It's making us all giddy I guess ...
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 02:06 PM

Does she know what you do for a living (i.e., that you're a high-earner)? If she's low-income, she's probably worried about ending up with a man whose expensive tastes she has to support. (In the working class, it's common for the woman to be the primary earner.) Calm her fears by talking about your investment strategy (unless it's buying bitcoin, lol.)
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/24 02:05 PM

I imagine it's kind of difficult for a military wife to "have her own shit" when she's dragged from pillar to post following her husband on his deployments. I had a sister-in-law whose husband was in the Navy and he was stationed everywhere from Alaska to Virginia Beach.

/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/24 05:32 PM

When it comes to conservatives who talk about kids, they see it as an end goal that everyone must achieve to start a family. Not this one! I have to clean up after the little hellspawn, so the fewer the better, AFAIC.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/24 12:58 AM

I'm somewhat Conservative but some things Conservatives say really annoy me, such as essentially telling everyone they need to have children or that they'd be happier if they did. Conservatives push very hard for childbearing Not this one! We already have far too many poor-parented children growing up in impoverished, chaotic homes.

Have the kind of life that, when an attractive woman meets you, makes her think, "I want to be a part of that." Also, at 30 I think you're in kind of a lull between "Girls just wanna have fun" and "OMG, biological clock is ticking and I need to lock down a husband and start having kids NOW!" In 3-5 more years, your female peers will be in that second mode and you may have more luck (unless you're opposed to raising a family).
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/24 01:01 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/24 05:25 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/24 05:24 PM

Last night an animal rescue popped up in my Facebook feed, and just for shits and giggles, I opened Petfinder.com, did a search for my favorite dog breed and came up with ZERO results. Further Googling revealed that the breed has fallen out of favor since its peak of popularity in the 1970s and now is seldom seen outside of the show ring. Puppies generally sell for $3,000-5,000, meaning I will most like never own another Afghan hound. Bummer!

The toxic aspect of it is that it implies that if that guy can do it, so can you. That isn't 'toxic,' it's simply stating reality. Yes, you can probably make something of yourself if you try. Take comfort in the fact that while you're working out, your dream girl is probably at the gym, too, or putting on makeup or getting hair extensions or a boob job to make herself more desirable. It sounds like you want to be told it's not your fault. Look, you either make "MONUMENTAL AMOUNTS OF EFFORT" to improve yourself to the point where someone wants to share your life, or you don't. The rest of the world won't care either way, except perhaps your mother if she's hoping for some grandchildren.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/24 01:56 PM

The worst IMO are the low-level jobs that actually require you to pay attention to something, like dealing with customers. Thankfully my job isn't like that! My brain is free to wander where it will for most of 8 hours. Sometimes I write novels in my head; other days I just listen to NPR all night. It's great!
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/24 01:15 PM

The greatest thing about my job is that is only uses 3 brain cells, which leave the rest of the bandwidth free to think about whatever I want while I'm working. Tonight I decided I ought to turn the new property into a plant nursery specializing in deer-resistant perennials. I'll call the business (... get ready for it ...) "NOT TONIGHT, DEER!"

I for one would prefer countries to enact policies to encourage the birthrate-de-urbanization, more affordable housing for young people, a more streamlined and less debt inducing educational system, and more palatable hours. The problem with government tinkering with society is that it usually produces unfortunate unintended consequences. Free market does a better job IMO.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/24 04:38 AM

I just read that the U.S. government spends $10 billion per day. For all of the people saying, "We need to raise taxes on the billionaires!" ... consider that there are only 735 of them in the country. We're gonna need a lot more billionaires ...

Gotta get out in your yard at least! I dated a guy whom I met by mowing my lawn, lol. I guess he liked what he saw and knew my neighbors, so he made inquiries and arranged to just happen to meet me. Sly devil!

Ehh, not so much. I've had them for over 40 years now. I'll die with this last one in me because I'm not going through the discomfort of having it removed unless it bothers me in some way. (Gynecologist said it was OK.)
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/24 05:34 PM

You know, a doc gave me a cortisone shot in my hand yesterday, and did me the courtesy of slathering it with some sort of numbing gel first. The idea that docs don't do the same for IUD insertions makes my blood boil.

Not so accurately ... seems plenty of women get played by men who promise a relationship but deliver a "pump and dump."
/r/PurplePillDebate28/01/24 04:14 PM
1

No, women don't usually work that way, lol. Of course there could be a million reasons why this woman wasn't interested in your friend (maybe she was a lesbian) but speaking generally, you should avoid approaching women you don't actually find attractive. They'll usually sense something is "off" about the encounter and it will trigger their spidey-senses. Also, don't base too much off one encounter going awry ... again, there could be a million reasons why your friend wasn't this particular woma…
/r/PurplePillDebate28/01/24 02:37 PM

Tell your friend not to approach women to whom is isn't actually attracted. The energy will be all wrong, and the women will sense it.

Again, an unmarried woman in her 20’s would be labeled a spinster. Spinsters were called thus because in late 1700s-early 1800s New England, it was common for young unmarried women to travel around the area, staying with families and helping the women of the household do their spinning and weaving. I suspect part of this plan was social in nature -- the girls might pair up with the sons of the households in which they worked. The ones who didn't make a match seemed to become perennial "spinsters…

It is curious that all of this "unshackling" and "upward economic mobility" has led to women being less happy over subsequent decades, if social scientists are to be believed. The NPR program 1A did a segment on self-care this morning. I found it interesting that over the course of the hour, no one addressed the elephant in the room: the fact that most modern women are not only fulfilling the traditional female role as wives, mothers and homemakers, but they're also expected to be men, too, and …

I think the oligarchs realized during WWII that women could do a lot of jobs men had traditionally performed, and they would work cheaper than men and with less fuss as well. At the same time, men were organizing and demanding higher wages and better benefits. Union membership in the U.S. peaked in the late 1950s, with about 1 in 3 workers belonging to a union. Clearly this situation could not persist. The oligarchs were paying far too much for labor! And the solution was staring them in the fac…

This hurts relationships in which the woman has done nothing wrong. The child's mother doesn't need to know. The test is simple, merely a cheek swab. So much hang-wringing over something so simple!

Why waste time and public resources prosecuting women for a 'crime' that can be easily avoided by the other parent availing themselves of an inexpensive test at the outset?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 02:30 PM

I don’t think that it should be an expectation that every man has to paternity test his child. The ideal is that relationships are built upon love and therefore trust. That's certainly your prerogative, but you'll pay the consequences if it turns out your trust was misplaced.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 02:20 PM

More like blaming someone for being robbed when they left their door open. You have the means at your disposal to determine whether a child is yours. Use it or suffer the consequences.

Yes, paternity crime should be convicted, since it is financial theft and causes emotional and psychological trauma to the supposed father. Shouldn't we expect the man to exercise due diligence?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/24 01:22 AM

Why does the government need to be involved, as long as the purported father is free to obtain a paternity test as soon as the child is born, if he wants one?

It's almost like men aren't wired up that way. Hmm. I've heard many men say that the arrival of their first child spurred them to buckle down at work and work harder in order to provide for their little family. In light of that, it's almost sadistically cruel to sideline them at such a crucial time, isn't it? But you see, the way women parent -- by providing lots of hands-on care -- is the correct way, and men must be forced to act like women. I mean, they are just defective woman after all, are…

Because women usually continue to offer some value in the equation. Even if she won't sleep with you anymore, she probably cleans the house and takes care of the kids. What man is going to willingly give THAT up? (Unless he has a new prospective partner waiting in the wings.) Women don't give up as much when they leave a man. I've heard some say their child support order ended up being more than their husband ever gave them for the rent or bills before the divorce! And the amount of cleaning and…

I recall reading that after (IIRC) Italy instituted two weeks of paid paternity leave, couples were actually less likely to have additional children. Go look at the statistics relating to heightened risks children experience due to living in a house with an unrelated adult (which is a polite way of saying "Mom's boyfriend"). Frankly, your kids are less worried about the fact you hate your spouse than they are about the possibility of having to change schools and lose all of their friends, or share their bedroom with a complete stranger they're told is now their "sibling" because Mom is fucking the child's father/Dad is fucking the child's mot…

A Pew analysis of the American Time Use survey from 2013 found that women with children spent an average of only 21 hours a week doing paid work. I wonder if they arrived at this number by averaging the work hours of women who work full-time and those who don't work at all? Because during my time in suburbia, I did not see any UMC married moms working part-time. They either had full-time careers or they had crashed and burned and quit their jobs altogether.
