Yeah I’m pretty sure her net worth is way higher than his. That’s the problem of being a high value (money wise) like Taylor Swift or Beyoncé or Rihanna. They have a very small amount of men within their level to date. And most men within their level are going to turn hateful/cheat because they’re upset at how successful their wife/gf is. It seems to be TS’s ongoing relationship problem. Almost every guy she’s dated ended up emotionally abusing her for being more successful. In Better Man she re…

The older I get, the more I realize I am perceived as just an object to men. I had a discussion with my LVX about this. He was clearly a misogynist and I thought I could CHANGE him lol. We were talking about misogyny in music and how idk how he can stand it. Literally I had to break my point down to literally explaining that women are people. Like mid conversation I realized that was the major wall I couldn’t get past with him in this discussion. He did not see women as people. I had to express …

I don’t think calling myself a former pickme means that I can’t forgive myself. It’s actually a relief to come on FDS and FLUS reading other women’s past about what pickme shit they went through. We are all victims to the patriarchy at one point so I don’t judge cause we are all progressing past that life together in this community. We are all learning to be better. I wouldn’t consider it dragging. I don’t even think we drag CURRENT pickmes unless they’re hurting other women. When we speak of pi…

I love that cause TSwift legit makes her own music, designs her concerts, directs her music videos, etc.. But men say she’s an airhead. Men literally say they strive to be a project and that’s admirable. The audacity 😂

Men like this take advantage of women with abusive parents. He saw that her parents abused her and added on to the same abuse to manipulate her into believing she’s actually ugly. I don’t think she looks in the mirror and sees someone ugly based on her descriptions of herself. When she describes herself as ugly, she mostly repeats what has been told to her with no real details. She’s being gaslit on all sides. This happened to me as well. I had an abusive mother who would always tell me I was ug…

OMG I had something similar happen to a college friend of mine. She was legit raped by a mutual male friend while her best friend was drunkenly asleep in his living room. When she finally spoke up about what happened that night to her friend, her friend joked she wishes she didn't go to sleep so that the guy would have had sex with her instead... Cause she was attracted to him. Like BARF. I quickly got that friend out of that living situation (they were best friends and roommates). I remember on…

I like this comment as it's clarifying to the post. Dating outside your culture can be confusing because of the "quirks". When I dated an Indian, I thought a lot of the weird misogyny in his home was just cultural "quirks" like how his mom would always cook for him and he was 40+. I later learned that he lied about having formerly lived on his own and cooking for himself when he burned my RICE and almost set fire to his own kitchen attempting to make popcorn. He said he lived at home because it …

Agreed. There is no shame in being a chauvinist in Latino culture, so 9/10 they will be very open about it from the jump. I don't usually get past an initial phone call.

I dated an Indian and couldn't believe how misogynistic he was. Like I literally could not fathom that he even understood what he was saying. I kept things up thinking I could show him the light. I was literal Clown Shoes. He would legit get upset whenever I brought up successful women in the media. Like he'd make up stories about how they're actually awful people almost forgetting the internet exists and I could factcheck what he was saying. Many awkward moments were had. Clown shoes.

Agreed. Usually it's more apparent when it's their cultural upbringing. OP should not be expecting to "change" anyone or try to "understand" someone's misogyny. It's so deep rooted, they're a lost cause.

So I'm from a very machismo Latino culture and honestly haven't had any luck within my own culture. It's awful lol. I'm primarily physically attracted to Latino or black guys, so dating has been rough. One thing that bothers me the most about my culture and black culture in media is that our music is blatantly very misogynistic. Most misogynists will just tell you that you're reading too much into it. So I ask them what their favorite artists are without making any comment about my feelings abou…

Yes, this happens all too often. At first, I thought the FDS "block and delete" thing was a bit much. Like what are the chances that someone you clearly don't like will keep messaging you? I've had people from HIGH SCHOOL popping up in my DMs asking me "how you been?" I've had an ex from high school text me 10 years post breakup about how he thought I was a loser when he dated me and he's so SHOCKED at how well I'm doing in life... WTF?! You should do a FaceTime call beforehand to check it's not a catfish. Sometimes catfish will literally just get a boost from being able to converse with a woman online, but won't muster up the balls to meet in person. They know that you're either going to leave or be weirded out on the date. Some incels do this to just waste your time and make you feel rejection. It's like something they get off on. LVM can tell when your standards are too high. If you want to go to a restaurant, but he's only u…

IDK how I feel about this cause I've had pretty bad sex with guys in my pickme days, and it's so awkward to think about being in a relationship with someone like that. Like if I dated someone for 2 years, got engaged, and then finally had sex with them and it was painfully awkward, I'd feel compelled to "work through it" because I wasted 2 YEARS of my life with this guy. But some things you just can't work through. You can't work through a 3 inch dick. You shouldn't have to "work through" someon…

Yeah I think she just needed to accept that she could live on her own. Like get a cat or something. But being with her toxic boy crazy friends all the time made her lose priority over what’s really important. As the show progresses, she diminishes her values and standards to the point she ends up with dirtbags like Steve. It’s so gross to watch cause Steve is also extremely unattractive lol. Like Hollywood really couldn’t find someone cute for her?

I agree. I remember watching Carrie Diaries a few years back and enjoyed it. I think I’m Sex and the City, Carrie was the most toxic of them all.

It was so triggering in the movie when Carrie tells her she’s making a mistake leaving him after he CHEATED. She was also too good for her friends. It must have been hard in the early 2000s to make high value friends cause all hers did was talk about men. Miranda is a tragedy cause she was ahead of her time and surrounded by LV influences on all sides.

I had white teachers who knew of some of my situation. I think they thought that extreme neglect was just a cultural thing cause they did absolutely nothing. They would instead punish me for my parents not showing up or not getting me supplies, etc.. I'd try to explain that my parents don't care and they'd just mark down my grades and yell at me. I’ve literally had a white therapist say “Well you’re Dominican right? It’s just a different culture.” And then completely move on from me trying to talk out the abuse. She didn’t even get any details from me. She stopped me at my tracks! Omg triggered!!! I dated a NVM who I later realized was a racist. When I told him about my parent's abuse, he basically tried to mansplain MY OWN CULTURE to me. And his mansplaining was that my people like to abuse their children... CULTURALLY. It was so fucking DISTURBING! I literally would yell at him about how racist he was being, and he'd just go quiet. Thank you. My past relationships always started fast and furious. To the point where I realized I didn’t go one or two days without seeing him until the relationship was over. And then at the end of each relationship, I’m flooded with realizations of all the red flags. FDS’s rule to wait a few days or a week before seeing someone again is SO important for me. I had an ex who was a raging narcissist. He stole money from me and literally kept me imprisoned in our apartment when we moved in together. He was also cheating. I had no family support so I had to secretly get a job and another apartment. When I broke up with him, I grabbed my shit and ran. I found a place through Facebook and moved in with a duffel bag. It was so out of place cause I kept getting compliments on my outfit from strangers, my hair was on fleek. I just looked great. There was nothing about my demeaner implying that I felt insecure about my looks. The compliment just felt very out of place, like he didn't really remember anything I said about myself or asked enough about myself, so he made the easiest compliment. I didn't walk away at the restaurant cause it actually was my favorite spot. Wanted the food whether I paid or not lol. As I date more, I think I'll be a lot better at being assertive and leaving if I want. I haven't much experience dating properly as I used to just throw myself into relationships.

For some weird reason, the black community literally has zero standards for rich and famous black men. It's very bizarre and I've had many conversations about this with black women. Like I've met women who are still in love with Chris Brown... ick. I could bring up all the domestic abuse and of course Rihanna, and I'll be met with "OH YOU BELIEVE THAT?!" Girl what?! Facebook Marketplace is great for furniture. I've used it for selling and buying. You can even get good handmedown household appliances if you're really on a budget. The reason I took this so personally is because I was living in squalor at one point. I was just getting by one day at a time. All I had to keep me happy was a poster of Beyonce on my wall lol. Some of the content is luxury apartments, and others are men really asking for help with their apartments, which I enjoy. I think on the podcast they once talked about how guys were complaining about women's standards being too high for wanting a man with a bed frame. And the reasoning was always money or not having the mental capability of assembling a bed. Seriously?! If you cannot physically assemble a bed. This is like the furnishing equivalent of not being able to find the clit. Or not even being able to find the vagina lmao. They're just blindly poking. What is the point of you?!

Prostitution is only illegal to penalize prostitutes. As long as the pimp is making his money then it’s okay. The women in massage parlors are not benefiting financially in any way where they can get out of this situation so it’s okay. As long as men get their rocks off and women are oppressed, it’s okay. I love that line cause to me it means she got more confident and was having more fun. Literally the way he portrays her as a "good girl" just sounds lonely and pathetic. I love Hotline Bling by Drake because it's literally about how a desperate girl he used for sex eventually cuts him off. She levels up in every way, and it makes him furious that she's not at home just moping around all day. Instead she has more friends, lives her best life, and is traveling the world. Male breakup songs are truly hilarious cause their anger usually comes from the woman leveling up.

His mom worked and did all the cooking/cleaning even though she had a husband and two sons. I hear these stories all the time and it just makes me sick.

One time after coming home from a tiring day at work, my ex (then boyfriend) explained to me that while dog sitting he thought it’d be “fun” to let my 4 month old puppy off leash to prove to me that I’m wrong about keeping her off leash. She obviously ran away and he had to chase her. I clearly exploded and he pretended this was a funny story and I was overreacting. There were also many times he was upset and disgusted with me that I was so “obsessed” with the safety and training of my puppy. It…

How much you wanna bet he’s racist? Now I’m thinking he saw the towel as a symbol of her blackness which is why he got so obsessed with it and tried to keep her family from seeing it. He wanted her to seem less “weird”. It’s just sickening how this is literally just a towel.

Not really. I always found the idea of a role model to be a bit weird. No one is perfect and people try to justify bad behavior in people cause they looked up to them as role models. I feel we all have a set of values and should just live by them. We shouldn’t look up to or idolize a flawed person (we are all flawed in our own ways). There are some people like artists that I admire. I don’t admire the entirety of the person, but I admire certain actions and accomplishments. For example, I’m a bi…

In college I roomed with boys. It was awful. I remember we had a mice infestation. We called a meeting about it to inform the members of the house of the mice infestation because 2 of the guys had seen the mice eating left over food they kept in their rooms. Yes you read that right. They left food to rot in their rooms until mice came to eat it. The meeting ending with a simple acknowledgement of the fact we were now living with mice and everyone just kind of accepted it and went about their day…

Sexual “needs” don’t exist. A “need” is something you literally NEED to do or you will die or be injured. A need is food, water, a roof over your head so you don’t get hurt by nature, etc.. Everything else is a “want”. We have been manipulated into believing men have sexual needs because they WANT to coerce us.

I think this term was made to make most women seem “different”. It’s a way to gaslight us. Bro like most of us are attracted to an emotional connection. When you’re open to fucking any attractive guy, I think it’s a cope to just wanting male validation. Libfems are teaching women that we are hyper sexual the same way men are and primarily care about looks. Like nah sis idc if a guy is a 10/10 if he’s homeless and a complete jerk. Most people become sexually attracted to a genuinely good person. …

Luke was so… WEIRD. The thing is he knew he was too LV for Lorelei. I see Lorelei as HV IMO until she started dating. Her dating life was just trash. Idk if it’s fair to judge her given how weird Stars Hallows men were though. She gave off the impression of being ok with being alone at the beginning but soon settled for trash. The show would have been boring if she never dated though.

I would say Jess was absolutely toxic. I think Rory accurately portrays the typical millennial who did all the “right things” and got all the bad consequences from it. She had all the ambition and tools to achieve what she needed, but did not have the real life experience that would have kept her a HVW. Lorelei was a good example of someone who had the life experience and grit and became a HVW, but Rory was just simply way too spoiled. I agree unless they make less money. It makes sense why we should always get for a man who makes higher income, but incomes can change for the worst. For example, if after marriage my income has more growth and his stagnates, he will be making less eventually. That’s a fear of mine cause you can’t really control a man if he loses drive and ambition. From my experience, men don’t seem to think or plan for the future very much. They make a lot of impulse decisions. But generally they’re not as “future thinking” as most women I know. They think of the here and now. And that’s why mid life crisis hits them so hard. They realize at a point that they’re old and certain decisions they made younger were really bad and they try to rewrite things. Doctors tend to believe women are exaggerating pain and being dramatic. Keep going to different doctors until one takes you seriously because nothing about this is "fine and healthy". She’s basically saying she wants ANY black man… cause he’s black… and a man. There’s no standard. She would love a black man that hits and gang rapes her? She would love a black man who was a dead beat and abandoned their child? The bar is in hell for her cause all she wants is a black man and she sees all …

It sounds like mental illness mixed with pickmeism. It doesn’t sound like she has a single redeeming quality on black men in this writing but she’s still gonna love a black man even if he beats her and runs a train on her?!?! It’s the gang rape that made me see red. Also internal racism. I’ve met great black men throughout my life. This is just insulting…

The trick is to say you have a boyfriend. They automatically see you as someone else’s property and they will more likely respect that someone else like an actual human being. But if you’re single, in their mind, you’re still just an object that’s up for grabs. Might as well lie in these situations especially if your safety is concerned. This is why we never get catcalled if you’re walking with a man.

Oh that is so awkward. It reminds me of one time I was in an Uber and having a nice conversation with the driver. Eventually I noticed he was looking at me with a little sparkle in his eyes. I was on my way to an interview though and a college student in a great field. He was an Uber driver. I literally saw in the mirror that he wanted to ask me out, but thought twice. It sounds like that was a neg. Like he was implying she was the type to be looking for a sugar daddy knowing full well that she was not. I think it's a power thing. The way you felt appalled and disgusted probably turned him on. Ugly LVM are so used to being invisible or ignored by younger attractive women that even negative reactions turn them on. I assume they jerk off to it later cause that's all they're ever going to get. When I was in my teens, I used to get catcalled. My best friend did tell me that he seemed normal but as time went on, more and more kept getting revealed that was just scary. As time went on, our very simple values did not line up anymore. He revealed himself as sexist, racist, classist, but I kept telling myself I could fix him. I feel like such an idiot. I disagree. There is such thing as racism against white people. What you’re referring to is structural racism. White racism is on an individual level whereas racism to minorities is on a societal level. For example, a white kid getting bullied in school for being the only white kid in a primarily Latino school. Rare, but it can happen. One can experience toxic femininity from an individual so it does exist. It may not be as powerful as toxic masculinity because men have so much power, but one ca…

Yes I believe that’s what the point is. I wanted to discuss if any of us think toxic femininity is perpetuation of misogyny itself and most agree it is. I would not think women would perpetuate it if it wasn’t internalized.

Yes that kind of where I’m getting at. It’s mostly fueled by masculinity and misogyny. “Toxic femininity” to me and many other commenters to be fueling misogyny by using the little female power we have (ie, influence in younger women and girls). It will never be equal to toxic masculinity because masculinity is usually portrayed by men and men have more power in society.

I still think this is very specific to the person and doesn’t always have to do with class. I clashed with my ex poor friends about monetary values but we came from the same class. I clashed with my ex rich LVM and he came from a way higher class. This just had to do with values. Both did not value the level up mentality which is why they were LV. It’s not specific to class. I honestly used to say this more for protection. Like I’m not gonna let a guy find an excuse to feel like he has the right to throw a fit and rape me if I don’t want to have sex with him afterward. Haha not many comedy films make me laugh but this was on point 😂. Would you recommend watching the whole movie? I literally cannot go further than 10 minutes into any other Will Ferrell movie, but something about this movie had me cracking up. I think it's the annoyed cop that constantly complains about Will Ferrell's character. He says everything that I've felt about Will Ferrell openly throughout the entire movie. Also this Sheila thing is hilarious.

I think this makes sense in your 30s. However, if you're dating someone in your late teens or early 20's, you should definitely wait this long! We change SO MUCH within that time. You can be completely different people from 20yo and 25yo. Someone who was perfect for you at 20 could be a real bummer for you at 25. You take the risk at a young age that you'll either stay stagnant in your ways or grow into better people alongside your husband. That's a BIG risk because you're putting the expectatio…

I was abused my whole childhood. My narcissistic mother used to tell me how ugly and useless I was. One of the most formidable experiences was when she told me I was the reason we were poor and that the greatest disappointment my family has had was me being born a girl when they thought I would be a boy. No matter what I did, she hated me and did whatever she could to keep me down. My father was completely useless and did not care about the abuse. I was such a wreck after finally being free of t…

Yes I know. Lesson learned. That’s the day I learned men cannot ever be trusted.

This guy did it on purpose. He literally said “I took it off cause it feels better without it.” And STILL pretended he didn’t understand why I was mad.

Yep. Even after everything he never said sorry.

Back when I used to hook up with guys, one of them secretly took the condom off in the dark. He refused to acknowledge what he did was wrong and was so confused as to why I was freaking out and telling him to get the fuck out. He kept texting me and obsessively asking what he did wrong. It was very weird cause I just met him and he was acting like it was a break up. I eventually lied to him about having HIV. Made a whole big deal and he desperately got tested and told his parents. I found it hil…

This is not an argument that should be had in a relationship. I learned there are 2 types of people. One will have a discussion and talk reason. This person is capable of understanding another's perspective and possibly changing their view. The other type will never change their view and just come up with arguments no matter what. This will occur even if they are going in circles and their argument makes no sense. They cannot admit they are wrong because their ego is too fragile and they are wea…

I was taught that a women's only purpose is to marry, tend to the house, and have babies. Many people believe this even though it equates to misery. The choice to not do any of these things is to choose to be a social outcast, as these women will think you're just a weirdo or someone trying to steal their husband. Also most people haven't taught themselves how to be happy to be alone. So it's a foreign concept to choose to be single because it's flat out choosing to be unhappy in their eyes. You…

Yeah that's the thing. If you're looking to just hook up and someone voices that they want something more, they're gonna hit the ground running cause 1. They dont want to lead you on, and 2. It takes away from the fun. Did you post on your profile that you're looking for something serious? Also, I don't know much about this app. I have used Tinder so I'm assuming it's similar and you get to put a description.

They probably aren't looking for anything serious in general. They might just be looking for hook ups.

If it's someone you never want to contact again, I'd get them off your social media. I think that's a good start. Stay strong and remember he doesn't need to see you're having a good life without him in order for you to have a good life without him.

This really depends. If it's genetic and can be dealt with, then why not. If it's genetic and would hurt a child, I'd consider adoption. I have sickle cell trait and wouldn't risk my kids having sickle cell anemia unless I knew of a cure. I wouldn't break up with someone for their genes though. I would break up with them if they had different values and believed bringing a child up into a painful life was worth it. Like no, we can adopt or have kids elsewhere.
