Idk where you live but the target sets in the intimate section are soft silky short and collared night shirt sets. They have solids usually and cute patterns.

We’re these people like volunteers or workers that stand on the corner getting people to sign petitions etc- if so, then it’s not uncommon but you can just tell them you’re not interested … if this is some random people you just ran into, unusual for them to do lol.

It was around that age that I stopped being okay with empty words. It’s one thing to say to you that he sucks at planning, gift giving etc.. and another to promise these things, say he will do them because he knows you like it… then not do it. He could easily have said.. “babe I’m really bad at gift giving or planning things because I’m just not sure what exactly to plan, why don’t we make those popsicle stick date night ideas and you can pick one every other week for us to do?” (Link for refere…

These are some things I could see becoming an issue later if not addressed earlier: -Similarity of morals/beliefs -Do you guys have a compatibility when it comes to alone time/ time together ratio -Desire for future things (children, etc) -Financial spending patterns (are one of you really loose with spending vs the other being frugal) -Family involvement (are you both okay with the amount of time and involvement you want with your family or theirs.) -Compatibility of decision making skills (if …

Since we don’t know his temperament, do you think bringing up wanting him to participate more would cause an actual argument? Or is that just a fear? You know him best. Could you guys make a calendar for the month that goes on the fridge so he can fill in when he wants to golf and you can fill in times you want to go to gym etc meet a friend blah blah. You shouldn’t have to ask, if you just put it on the calendar you’re both monitoring then he should be able to pick up what to do from there. Tra…

Yeah, you guys gotta figure out who’s doing what and who’s what part in this. These poor kids probably don’t even know who they’re supposed to report to. It’s hard with blended family systems, but doable! Maybe just being around them is enough for now. Take them out for ice cream alone, or to a movie. Building some rapport before you do anything life changing (not sure how much you do alone with them now at this point)… but just being a confidant for them could help kind of open the door to figu…

Just a clarifier question, Is there something keeping you from having a more traditional role with the kids as your own? It sounds like the kids would really benefit from you both modeling good behavior and life skills… esp as the daughter comes of age. I was just curious if you don’t have interest in helping raise them since he has full custody. (I come from a household where my mom remarried after my father was absent and the man adopted us legally… so I have a diff perspective). Tbf 14 is rou…

If he isn’t willing to change you can deal with it or not. It’s hard when one party won’t work on themselves. Edit: maybe suggest to him the art of manliness podcast, it touches a lot on culture psychology, men’s health exercise and stuff. Maybe it could inspire him. I even listen to them sometimes I find them interesting

He needs professional help, hopefully he would be amenable to couples counseling; esp if you word it that “I need us to do this” so he doesn’t feel attacked.

It sounds like you’re both burnt out tbh. You with the kids (they both sound young by the time line) and him with 2 jobs. Him isolating is his response to this. Based off the first post and this, could you guys reevaluate the division of labor? You mentioned before he messed up clothing; Ok so could you wash/dry then it goes to a basket which he folds. I know someone who did this - she started trying before the wedding thinking it would take months to get pregnant… she got pregnant right away.. didn’t fit in her gown, etc. they ended up just doing a quick ceremony and moving the actual wedding… THEN 2 years later when the real big wedding was happening she got pregnant again and was 6 months pregnant at that event 😭😭😭 she didn’t seem to mind but it def made them have to move a lot of stuff and just overall make things hectic lol so I can’t say…

You have to just ask him what it was, be respectful but ask. Maybe she was reaching out to him? Did he even respond? The message he received could have been a response to him or an initial message so it’s hard to say what his part was. How he responds to your request to know will tell you more about his mindset right now. A: probably that I have an easy command of a group lol, appearance wise, I’ve been told im very expressive, though dare I say in a Bea Arthur kind of way. 😂 B: my husband def loves my laugh, and I think a lot of people do not get that side of me. Im very stern looking and such in company. He says Im witty and resilient and many people don’t get the privilege to experience it. I definitely used to be like this with guys; for ref I think I am somewhat on spectrum as well. An opening for you, may be to let him do things if/when he offers. I found myself being like “no I’m good” to any and all requests to serve or help me in any way… mostly bc I have particular ways I like things and anything offsetting that makes me uncomfortable/ and a lot of the time it felt dumb to be like “sure” over small stuff. You could try one of those flora tests where you swab and send it back. My suggestion would be get a gentle boric acid suppository and sleep with it in overnight (it’ll melt) on week one. Then week two do a vaginal probiotic suppository. And try that for like 3 months. See if it levels out at all. Also, do not clean your vagina with anything but warm water and unscented soap. I think first asking yourself what it would be like to just accept responsibility would be like for yourself might be helpful? Why do you tend to shift blame? Was wrong-doing in any manner growing up shameful? We’re accidents not allowed? I feel like that’s a common trend in people who later as an adult feel like they gotta push off blame to someone else.. stems from fear of making mistakes or accidents. 😂 my little psychoanalytic moment. So many questions here- When he’s home from military in 4 months.. is his home, in your town? Or is he just be home but still nowhere near you? I feel like he doesn’t really want to be in a relationship. Why wouldn’t someone want to call you as soon as they get back? Idk I don’t think he’s forgetting - just not doing it. You have to decide where your hard boundaries are. I wouldn’t stop performing if I truly loved it and was making $ off it. It’s an art. Doing it in a studio is not the same thing as performing imo. If you feel that it’s something you don’t want to compromise on, then you should stand your ground. Unless it’s truly harming someone, you should be able to express yourself.

Honestly this is one thing my husband and I let fly with no input from one another really… and it’s 99.9% because we have such diff styles and preferences lol. I can’t even buy him a simple tee shirt because our tastes are so different😂 if I love something I wear or style, he loves that I love it. And vice versa. Maybe you’re just dealing with like fomo (fear of missing out) but retroactively. I have felt like this in the past about my husband because he dated a lot before we married and I do wonder time to time like “I wonder what he and “Sam” did or were like” .. then it leads you down a road like “well what was the dynamic”..”what did he like about her”… “was she better than me”.. Sounds like maybe you guys have different ideals for socializing and such. My husband and I are different in the sense… I’m quiet, not very social, he is a social butterfly… we make it work by scheduling some time for public activities and make time for indoor (me) activities. Yes! I know it’s so hard. My issue is efficiency… if I see my husband doing something I feel can be done better I always want to interrupt and be like “actually you could do this like….”, and it really irritates him when it’s something small like.. how he cleans a dish or whatever or order he chose to do chores in.. blah blah. I have the same issue… I love giving advice, I became a counselor after all. 😂 I got good advice from a professor once… If you’re listening to someone and you’re immediately ready to give advice or respond, then you were not listening to them truly. Sometimes it’s better to listen with your heart not your mind. If you’re preparing to give advice on the topic then you’re kind of thinking elsewhere inside your mind while he is speaking. I think first realize that you can’t raise someone to be a virgin. Everybody has their own path. You can raise them in an environment that they feel confident in their decisions to remain a virgin or not, and share with them your experience (hopefully without instilling shame)… and see where life goes. “Raising pretty thin virgins” is not only a hard expectation to put on people who don’t even exist yet but also is a reflection of the hate you have for yourself it seems. There is also a plethora…

The fact that you had a novel to write about the dynamic and none of it was good, should shed some light on it for you. There’s nothing wrong with “out growing” people, especially ones who maybe have some emotional immaturity or issues they don’t plan to resolve anytime soon. Have you sat down and told him straight forward that you require quality time? Suggesting watching a movie or any other activity is still kind of expecting mind reading on his part. If you haven’t, I would talk about it in direct terms. Sandwich it between some praise but make sure to state your needs too. There has got to be a middle ground somewhere in there. I got my husband flowers when he got a new job and apartment (this was right before we got married). Priorities change as you age. At 55, do you think the majority of women are in a “competition” mindset with 20 year olds? If they were, how did any generation before today survive? Lol Being hot in your younger years feels like the sole purpose of living because you’re in the mindset of mating etc, when you’re 40, 50, 60 that won’t be the forefront of your mind. You’ll have lots more to be dealing with. There’s something to be said of “passing the torch” too as a woman. In my early 30s now, not …

Honestly, if you get off it, and wait 6-12 months, you’ll be able to see your real cycle, use ovulation strips a few months and test and see if your cycle is ovulation regular day 13-18 and then you know any Sperm entering on day like 10-20 can be likely fertilized. That on top of a secondary barrier, ie: condom, you’re basically good to go. Because if your cycles regular at day say 14-16, and you have sex with condom on day 8 with a condom, there’s essentially no chance of pregnancy. Granted it…

Was he like this in past? Did this just begin in last year? What changed? Was he doing 12 hour shifts then? Maybe he is experiencing burn out and can’t get out of the loop. Burn out can make people act very out of character. They can get compassion fatigue, basically become someone else. Not saying it’s this but could be good to look into. Not in the same culture or religious group as you, But don’t be too hard on yourself. You’re certainly not a slut or a disgrace. You’re figuring out life. Maybe the third date you can bring friends or a chaperone, so you can also discuss if you’re both on same page about boundaries and where you want this To go. ADHD is very hard to manage without medication. You can make schedules, set alarms and do the whole dance… but if you’re executive function system is running low;;; how do you remember to set alarms? Reset them? Make schedules? Prioritize items on each list. Medication helps with that. My husband finally got on meds at like 28 and he said it changed his life.

I kind of get him not wanting to deal with the expiration date organization thing (because that’s a you ocd thing), but the other two things.. as a 26 year old he should know how to do. Like cold items go in a cooler. He must know that…. Or like chips don’t go in the fridge. Why is he putting non cold items into the fridge? I think this would be 100% true if we never developed frontal lobes. The difference between just using hind brain to run our lives (such as primates) vs humans. Fortunately, we have those to decision make, look at things from a non evolutionary only view (aka mating isn’t the only reason someone may pair). Also, in a unique situation here but my husband slept with over 100 women in his life before we met (no judgement) and had 0 kids with any of them, but says he could never continue doing that …

Chances are by the time you’re looking “old” for real, your life will be settled already (outside of some odd circumstance where you’re like 45+ and have no spouse/partner, hobbies etc). You guys can grow old together. My husband and I joke that once both our hair is thinning enough we will shave heads and be Mr Clean for Halloween together, so we have potentially Halloween like 2050 planned 😂 But for real, don’t waste the youth years worrying about getting old. Hm, okay based on your edit; my response …. And kind of related to a situation I was in so I’ll give my approach to how the moment was handled. I think this also depends on what was happening. Was he chatting with someone online? Or meeting up with someone? They’re both bad but I feel they’re weighted differently. After full brain decision making development! Not saying there are not outliers but I personally would want to make sure I’m making the most informed decision of my life and our brains start to completely finish forming the pre frontal cortex at about 25/26 years of age and this is also the time where risky and impulsive behavior will wane. My first thought was based off what you said; if you can afford the upkeep, my mom found that getting a very very light “lip flip filler” helped her lips even out. She has a small scar on her lip from childhood that makes the lips uneven. Her face person used a minute amount of lip inj to fill in the gap where it is uneven, it looks like her normal lips just without that one area being slightly off. Maybe an option if you really hate the unevenness but it’s prob not too noticeable (in most case)…

I think this is really subjective. There have been times where in a mess of communication my husband and I (before we were married) would make plans for us on same day, lol. In that event, we would just go to our own events without each other. For instance I told my mom we’d come by for dinner and he somehow scheduled a game night with his buddy, I would just go go my moms and him to his plans. The same way I’d look at a woman. Lol A lot plays into it. You could develop a talent or hobby or skill at 30 that makes you desirable as fff compared to when you were typical at 24. My thoughts are; it could be, that he’s not adjusting well to viewing you as a parent and partner. Before kids, you were 100% his. Now, splitting time and energy between kids and him, maybe he is having trouble seeing you as anything but a mom and not a sexual partner anymore. Honestly, the real serious men out there aren’t so focused on complete body count (in my experience) unless they too have like 0 people under their belt. But it’s very common in teen years or early 20s to go wild, and end up still settling down later and being a bit more conservative with sex. I think this would be a good opportunity to explore what sex means to you without influence from childhood/media/etc. You said you were raised with the intention it’s for baby making but, realistically when applied, we know couples are having sex multiple times a week in an “average” marriage, and if you’re having sex during all 4 weeks, THEN you are having sex knowing that it isn’t just for babies (as most women won’t be fertile more than a handful of days a month). If that makes sense lol, the…

I was 29 and married at 30 so I was definitely leaving my engagement previously like “I’m elderly” but then I just came to terms with that I wasn’t elderly I was insane. 😂😂😂 in fact I feel like all my early 20s and mid 20s relationships I definitely had “I should settle im old” mentality haunting me but then when I got to 28/29 and wasn’t married I realized my life didn’t end and I let that go and it helped my mindset a lot in actually finding a husband.

No you’re not wrong, you will essentially be the same at 24 and 27 physically and health wise, without a serious event occurring; even at 30 honestly. I think you definitely have time to take 1 or 2 years to work on you and see what you want and who you want to be. Better than jumping into something and then growing so much in next few years you change completely and no longer relate to the person. Ah, the classic “if you didn’t make me mad I wouldn’t do xyz” next he will throw a punch at you and say you did something to cause it. Do you want to spend another 40, 50 years with someone who “mocks, makes fun of, says hurtful things, says he could knock someone else up???” about and to you. I’ve been in one of these relationships before, they suck. Best thing you can do is ask yourself if you want to be with this kind of person. I buy bulk potato’s (chop and freeze) frozen squash, frozen Brussels, and carrots (chop and freeze), so no matter what day we can do veggies and potato’s and a chicken breast. I think that the roots of giving someone away for marriage is pretty clear that it’s been historically an exchange of property/persons recognized as property/creating family alliances, etc; not forgetting that these were the social norms of the time (so I can’t comment on the “if it was wrong or right” in the eyes of those people at that time). But, that’s not to say you couldn’t make the giving away of a daughter now, a new meaning and tradition in your family. A tweak on tradition that focuses…

I think most people summed it up in long form but I think the best way to not feel as bad about breakups, is to grieve it. Holding back on your feelings usually drags it out. Be heartbroken, but know your life isn’t ending. It’ll pass naturally once you allow yourself to feel what you need to feel. Don’t let yourself get into a depressive state by not doing your regular life but it’s ok to cry, grieve, eat a little ice cream while crying, and feel confident in your choice. People telling me to b…

BMI makes little sense in terms of health; what I would focus on is body recomp. I’m smaller physically now at my higher bmi, because I cut fat and have been building muscle. So it’s possible to go down in inches but up in physical weight. But you also should let your body do what feels natural. Regular exercise and a colorful diet is typically enough. Focusing too much on losing weight vs living healthily can destroy your metabolism too, if taken to extremes. Having energy to do things with my …

Reading online, depending on the source gives me different values for SMV; some list, networth/ Career/height etc in the factors and others list more physical traits only. Could be that they’re over simplifying it (enmeshing the two) for mass readers. Which has led me to believe they are kind of overlapping or the same. If that’s not the case traditionally, my bad.

Yeah, I feel the same way, I don’t think you really need to be calculating/applying specific ratings, because we all know what’s obviously “a step above” financially etc. I think it’s more of a calculated awareness of yourself and where you fall in society and wouldn’t necessarily be actively applied lol. From what I interpret; Long term SMV things are not as specific to each individual (such as you sharing you like rustic men which is personal aesthetics), and more so a social SMV based on resources, status, networth, degree/career etc. The idea is once you know where you fall, you want to identify partners on the next levels above you. I think the overarching theme that can be taken away from any political /social ideology, etc is that we as people should be challenging ourselves to hear and learn new ideas or understandings of the world. Asking someone to give up the forum in which they advertise their career (they’re a dj and already said it has little to no photos of themselves on it) and asking someone to stop watching porn are not comparable. He doesn’t want to give up porn and is using her work as leverage because he know, if she is in her right mind, she won’t give up her work page and therefore he won’t have to give up porn. I’m addressing the comment on here that “men don’t grieve” that someone made; just inherently false. While that may be true to a point, data shows that more often women take on an emotional load from men (the parent child effect), than vice versa. Which is where my statement above came from. Hopefully society can de-stigmatize MH faster for men so that gap can close.

I was just basing it off what you said “I fix their fears”. I don’t know you so I can’t say for sure, but it sounds a lot like my life in the past. You give love and acceptance for them to figure their life out, learn to trust, then they bail. It’s not about what other girls have but it’s what they want to present to the new women. They wanna come off as perfect from the start and not let on that they just wasted your time training them basically.

They don’t have anything you don’t. You spent the time fixing them basically and then now they want to express that to another woman as “how they’ve always been” and forget the process. I suggest a therapist, even if you want to go 1-2 times a month (not everybody goes weekly), to process things that maybe keep coming up, themes etc that you overshare. It’s not healthy to just sit around on your ass, in general. Not having a job isn’t the same. If he’s contributing to daily life, has passions or hobbies etc, that’s normal. It’s never too late to build a family or advance your own interests. Either way, both kinds of men; if they are the right one, will want to lift you up in what you do. We as women need to stop feeding into the “the wall” concept. Chances are, if you take care of yourself.. at 28,29 you’re going to appe…

God, I could write a whole paper on this. Lol In short, I’d say societal and economic stress have caused this.

Well the good news is it’s April. I thought you were going to say like august or something kind of outside the current timeframe. Can you take a break from it for a day or two and recoup your energy? Maybe sit down and see what you need to do vs what can be offloaded? Do you have any bridesmaids or friends who could help with something trivial like calling to confirm things, or researching some info for you? Even having someone take a look at your seating chart and giving you feedback rather tha…

How far out is this wedding? Can you move forward with something smaller; I’m sure at a loss of $ in places but better overall for your MH? I had started planning a wedding in my first engagement and it began spiraling out of control with the guest list etc. plus my fiancé barely had interest in helping, I have no sisters, so basically it was just me and my mother hounding me. This time around, we secretly eloped. Hardly any planning and 7000$ total cost. Well worth the nasty reaction from famil…

My husband liked the mushroom coffees that are on the market, they’re supposed to be better for you and less caffeine.

Oh for sure, there’s a chance. But what she said about his attitudes towards specific things like women having careers, is what irks me. People are fluid, she can’t guarantee him that she won’t have an interest in something later and I feel that he will resent her for that if it came up. Hard situation all around lol

Yeah his career looks good, but he has never had a long term relationship because no woman can fit his mold over the age of 25 so he’s shooting lower now and saying it outright. A 23 year age gap is way too much lol.

As if he also isn’t a 31 year old with baggage too lol ya know? 😂 My uncle is VERY red pill Catholic etc he’s 42, he is trying to court a 19 year old right now. People have explained to him “what could you have in common” and his thoughts are the same; she’s young with no kids, will let me raise her into a wife basically, and has 0 knowledge of the world. It’s unnerving.

I don’t know, even living in the “feminine” I would be cautious to a man who has a problem with “women being career oriented” for one. What if 2 years from now you find a passion you’d like to pursue? How is he going to feel about that? Your kid is in kindergarten and you’d like to go back to school for nursing.. how’s that going to fly? I get a “control” vibe but this is just from what i know in the posting. Just know, you’re less likely to ever leave once you have a child. So make sure you did…

Let me put this empirically, there IS; as much as people want to say “it’s about love etc etc”, science behind longevity of relationships and age gaps. Under 5 years for an age gap is ideal. Anything above 5, and approaching 10 years increasing your chances of divorce by a good percentage. Couples under 3 years difference have the least amount of chance to be divorced. Of course there is other things at play here; education gaps also tend to lead to more divorce. Children, etc etc. But why? One …

I have a lot of free time, what kinds of things would you want to hear. I’m a mental health therapist too so I do think that gives me a lot of insight on people (aka I’m cheating) lol 😂

It definitely is a wild ass ride, but if you’re going into it like “I don’t wanna be alone” that’s not a fantastic reason lol. Learning to be happy while alone will be a great lesson to learn first. Invest in you.

Can we pause to address 30 isn’t the end all be all for women? Lol I didn’t find my husband until about 29, and I had to go through a lot of wackos to get there. Because of that, marrying at 30 was better than anything my 20s could bring. I would consider you to challenge yourself on why you feel this way, and if a lot of the time constraints and pressure you’re putting on yourself are your own or brought on from society? Edit: tbh I was the same way. I was in a 5 year relationship from 20-25 th…

Does he plan to stay exactly as he is, keep all his hair and also plan to have a 25 year old dudes stamina in bed at 50. Hmm? I would question if this guy loves you for you? Or is he chasing a dream?

If you’re unsure what you like and don’t want to pay arm and leg; get a Poshmark account once you find some brands you like. It’s all second hand and half the price most times, plus you can haggle. Downside is that you can’t return but you can list to resell.

Could be that his grieving style is 'space'. Some people don't like being smothered when they're upset. Just reiterate that you're always there for him. When he's down maybe he'd like to smell fresh cookies baked just for him or something warm and safe (run a hot shower for him) instead of talking it out.

Poverty trauma. Realizing that you are deserving of these things if they are available to you and he can manage it financially; is the first step. You are worth the vacations or nice things if he can afford it and would like to provide it while you do your work at home. You two will have to compromise on what to do for those fun things like if he wants a budget of 15,000 for a wedding, then maybe see what you can do for 10k. Find a comfortable middle between your two ideals.

That’s a really good point, there is a line when it comes to “That is just how I am”.. that is unacceptable; like so if you’re a very rude person you should accept that and not be.. less rude? Lol 😂

My whole life is debt without further context 😂 getting a masters in mental health counseling basically ensures you’ll be cutting even forever but your sentiment is true.

I do agree that some of modern feminism is tied into how we live in a spending/fast everything society. The push to have sooooo many options in every aspect of life makes it hard to have fulfilling amounts of anything because there’s always something else waiting right there for your satisfaction. It’s hard to have solid relationships with people when our lives are Overflowing with messaging that tells us we aren’t satisfied or shouldn’t be ever. . As a means for us to keep consuming.

I have to hear more about your situation if you’re open to expanding. You are still with that same husband I assume? Did much of his behaviors change when you implemented new practices? Or how has it helped the relationship from the perspective of the issues you stated like him not noticing you or making you feel bad, drinking, etc?

I agree! So many people have been standoffish when I tell them I got my masters and would like to maybe work part time and then do SAHM things half of the week so my kids aren’t in daycare day in and out. They will say “why did you even get the degree then” ... because I wanted to. Lol That does not mean different portions of my life won’t look different at times. It’s a happy medium.
