He's broken, so how do we fix my husband Funny, me and my ex went to three different counselors, and by the end of each run, it was always, "Girl, you've not done the work to fix things, and what you see as wrong with him is not worth fixing" You are right though, she never was the villain in her story.

I’m no expert but signing away rights does not mean no CS is due. Hell, some states will come after you if the ex applies for any sort of welfare

Bro you were together for 20 years and she didn’t work?! I mean, wow. Not a judgement on you, but wtf was she doing

Unless you agree to it, you should not pay for anything for the kids when they are not with you. My ex asked me to buy a new controller for the game console I had already bought for my son. I said nah.

The law on that is only a guideline. If parties agree or there is significant reason not to award it, a judge has discretion on how much, if any, to award

I suppose you are a different boat than me, I should be paying $2300 a month strictly by the calculations, but my agreement reduces it to $2k due to the time I have with them.

My ex, in the past 8 months, has figured out she made a huge mistake. Trying to get be back. I stay friendly enough to keep the relationship cordial, but also make it extremely clear I am not interested. She is very persistent, so it makes it tough. Honestly besides not having the kids full time I miss my FiL the most. He was a cool dude.

Absolutely feel that. It’s weird how even an off comment, one that they probably didn’t mean to be mean or have a lasting effect can cause such psychic damage.

I get that, there was a girl from HS I was head over heels for. She knew it and once she realized she didn’t like me, she said she wanted someone with wider shoulders. Girl gave me body dysmorphia with that one. lol still to this day the first thing I hit in the gym

Just remember this: You don't miss her, you miss the feeling you get thinking about the perfect image and feelings of her. This wont help immediately, but sit down with a word document and start listing out all the things that you didn't like about her. Think of times she did stupid things or weird things or rude things ect... Bring her back down to earth. She was just a person, after all. And as a cheater, not a great person either. But if you keep her in your head, you will only see the good p…

Sure there are men out there that would call me a cuck. A pussy. lol I have never understood this mentality. Like, what kind of hate do you have for other people that you would think like this? Good on you man. I'm proud of the journey and you should feel like bragging about it.

She may regret it, but don't expect it or come to emotionally need her to regret it. Just move on man. She may end up happier in the end, and that is her job. To find her happiness. As your job is to do the same, find your happiness.

I don't necessarily blame her- logistics makes sense. I just am hurt at the timing. Like, was it serendipity or did she make the decision to continue dating me until she could find someone else? The former is kinda understandable, though not fun. But i'd rather her have just dumped me than string me along.

Hey man, feel free to DM. I can send you my signal or whatever and we can have a chat. I feel your pain- I did thanksgiving alone. Thankfully I have my kids for X-mas, but no other family around. I know how it can be.

Get yours, dad. Just remember, you define what is important. Not society, not your family, not kids, not me. You will be a better dad if you are happy with you.

I wanted my son to grow up in a 2 parent household with opportunities that I didn’t have growing up and I feel that’s been stripped away from him. That sucks, but you gave it your best. Even if you were somewhat at fault for not meeting this goal, we cant do all the things we want. Make a new goal for what you want his development or your relationship with him to be, and then plan out how to accomplish that. Pop open a word doc and just start writing, then worry about organizing an actionable pa…

I was in a town with.... very few options for dating when I got divorced. I would have jumped right into the dating pool quickly had it not been for that. But I didn't. And it forced me to get to know myself and figure things out at well. I am not saying that I have it all figured out, or that I am some sort of fixed person. But I am oddly greatful that I was not able to date. I just got out of a 4 month relationship with a girl that I was pretty sure could be the "one" and I am not happy about …

OP this is the way. Don't get revenge by acting out at her. Get revenge by living a good life without her. Just get a lawyer.

It is super weird- like when you are married you obviously like being with your kids and wife but sometimes you just need a day. But then when you are divorced and you have all the time you could ever want, everything turns sour. It gets better- my two guiding principles were: Take care of the kids- make sure they are always safe and progressing so they can live happy and self-sufficient lives. Take care of myself- Everything I do besides number 1 should be because It makes me better or it is so…

That sucks but I hope y’all had a good time while you did What I would say is remember to be selfish in your relationship- not because you should not want to provide value for your significant other but because no one knows your needs and except you. Don’t enter a relationship to service others.

Date two women at the same time once. Just once. Push yourself to do it and be super clear that you are doing it (tell them the truth). It will give you great perspective on love and partnership and may even help you be a little more ok with just yourself. You will still have feelings and sometimes want to verbalize something you know you are clearly not ready for and that’s ok.

Which is going to be a wake up call when she gets there- parents won’t be nearly as supportive as she thinks they will be.

Talk to a VA lawyer as well I believe disability should not be included in your income. Protect your kids.

Did they talk to you about minimum spousal support requirements? I am in the army and on the tail end of the divorce process- feel free to PM

20 years is not required- it can be less than that. 10 years married to someone who has had at least 10 years of creditable service time. Look up the UNIFORMED SERVICES FORMER SPOUSE PROTECTION ACT for the details, but the pension is considered part of the joint assets and a judge can award half of the pension earned during the marriage. So for example, if you were married for 10 years, the spouse would be granted 50% of that amount which, under high 36, would be 25% base pay. The amount should …

I am just starting the process as well. Austin too believe it or not. Different circumstances. I have been going through a lot of different feelings about the whole thing. I imagine you will be too. I’d like to give you advice but really anything I say would be generic as fuck. You are not alone in the world. You will get through this- she is/was an important part of who you are, but not all of who you are.

I know what you said was partialy a joke, but watch this guy's videos. I have ZERO interest in vacuums, but this guy is simply amazing in how much he loves his job. Also, this guy HATES dysons. Bagged vacuums all the way!!!
