I’d argue it’s more cruel to create an environment where your partner is less incentivised to want to have sex, and then resent them for not wanting sex.

Reddit is a much more male dominated platform

At what point would you break up if it’s less than 30 days? Does this include being sick, injured, spending time apart?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/04/26 03:12 PM
3

Lmao good chat
/r/PurplePillDebate13/03/26 05:23 PM

Men compete with other men all the time, especially when it comes to their partners. Everyone wants to be the one with the most attractive, alluring wife.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/03/26 05:19 PM
9

The culture continues bc Eastern men are willing to pick up the bill. In exchange for it, eastern men are a lot more authoritative in their relationships. I know of a couple who both work but she doesn’t pay for a thing and he’ll even pay for her nails, hair etc. The catch is, everything he says goes. If he says no to something, there’s no further discussion. I’d rather just pay my half and keep my independence.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/03/26 05:18 PM

Eastern Europe? Or Middle East? I know women from both cultures and they’d be disgusted by the thought of splitting a bill lol. The arguing over the bill is more among friends/family.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/03/26 05:13 PM
3

Which culture is that?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/03/26 05:11 PM
23

Compared to women they absolutely do.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/03/26 04:26 PM
11

I don’t think this is exclusive to women. Plenty of men step out or leave a relationship because they feel they can do better. A lot of people have a grass is greener mentality. I’ve also known a lot of guys who’ll weigh in if they feel their friend is dating someone less attractive Same thing as if a man were dating a woman who was dull and plain but all his friends were dating women who were gorgeous and exciting, he’d feel a type of way about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/03/26 04:22 PM

What do you mean? I prefer jacked guys not because of aesthetic but I like to be pushed and motivated to be the best version of myself which I can’t get from a guy who spends his weekend eating takeout watching TV
/r/PurplePillDebate11/11/25 08:05 PM

It’s a well documented issue many women have had dating men… the common denominator is men

Why do you think of toxic masculinity

Whenever I’ve seen my friends hinge I’m always shocked by how lazy the men’s profiles are. They answer prompts with stuff like “idk” or “I’ll buy you a drink if …. You buy the next round” like so unbelievably dull they can’t possibly think anyone can think of something to say in response? Whereas my friends talk about their interests, hobbies, funny anecdote or at least make it funny if they don’t want to give much away
/r/PurplePillDebate11/11/25 05:14 PM

Yeah, it’s an empty gesture to put the ball in your court and call it reciprocal.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/11/25 05:08 PM

Based on what exactly?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/11/25 05:05 PM
9

Not really disproving the point you were trying to make 😂 fortunately I’m in a relationship with someone who had the wise idea to take an interest in my life on our first dates, but I feel for my single friends
/r/PurplePillDebate11/11/25 05:05 PM
-1

Approaching is only the first step. Actual effort is about the time and effort throughout the dating and relationship. All of my single friends at some point have dated men who put no effort into planning the date, asked 0 questions or made any effort to keep the conversation going and still expected to be invited back to her place or have a second date

Intellectual curiosity and ability to discuss things beyond the surface level, but in a constructive communicative way not just “this is why I’m right and you’re wrong”

It was a girl, she sent to me bc she’s also running a marathon and found the clip funny … Also if a guy sent that to me, the message would very clearly be the opposite 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate07/11/25 02:55 PM
1

I think it was about female runners in general but this clip seemed to focus on marathons ahaha
/r/PurplePillDebate07/11/25 02:31 PM
1

I think you just don’t enjoy running and that’s fine haha, when I travel I love going on a morning run to explore the city I’m in
/r/PurplePillDebate07/11/25 02:28 PM
1

My friend just sent me a reel of a man saying a woman who is training for a marathon is a red flag for men shortly after I just confirmed my place on a marathon next year lol Any men here care to share their thoughts on this?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/11/25 02:06 PM
2

Where exactly in London were you?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/25 03:38 PM
3

Its just funny bc I live in London and nobody calls it that. Areas are referred to by zone or borough, not “neighbourhood” as they aren’t really a thing unless you go further out, in which case you’re not in central london.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/25 03:35 PM
2

“Neighbourhoods of central London” …
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/25 03:28 PM
3

Because she’s looking after kids which if outsourced to another person, would cost thousands a month, as well as the cost of a cleaner, cook, driver etc
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/25 03:02 PM
7

Can you acknowledge that when a woman leaves the job market to take care of children, her earning potential significantly drops and that’s something to be factored in?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/25 03:01 PM
16

If you’re married to someone, whatever they do does affect you lmao, sorry to be the one to break it to you
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/25 02:53 PM
12

I suppose it’s interesting to see their thought patterns. They crave a traditional dynamic but when asked more granular questions they obviously desire a modern woman who doesn’t adhere to traditional roles but are unable to see it. Fortunately I have no desire to be a SAHM and after seeing the responses I think very few women should be willing to take that risk.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/25 02:50 PM
13

Would you expect her to earn money while also taking care of the kids and home full time?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/25 02:45 PM
3

Must be why credit card debt is so unusual in the US
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/25 02:45 PM
6

What if he suddenly changes the terms?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/25 02:40 PM

I think you just wanted to talk about your job lol but good for you sounds interesting
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/25 02:28 PM
11

I feel like reading the first sentence of this post would have saved you some time
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/25 02:18 PM
4

Would you then share the burden in raising children and keeping the home?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/25 02:16 PM
4

What do you consider to be Veblen goods?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/25 02:06 PM
8

So in that case, would you want her to have a job and instead you can split the costs of daycare/cleaners etc? Since you don’t see the value in raising children and keeping a home. Also… do you not see the benefits of washing your ass? :/
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/25 02:04 PM
10

You can tell what someone’s spending habits are before marrying them usually
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/25 01:53 PM
7

What set up would you consider more reasonable then?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/25 01:52 PM
9

Honestly it’s shocking, no wonder the birth rate is plummeting. I live in London and my cousin was telling me how a daycare for his daughter cost nearly 3 grand a month. His wife is a teacher and that’s her entire salary. If legislators want women to have more children, subsiding daycare and more protection for mothers in the workplace is where they need to start.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/25 01:50 PM
6

Yeah very valid answer, if both parties are happy then it’s all gravy. My mum worked before having children and realised that daycare/nannies cost almost the same as her salary, and knew she’d much rather raise her children herself, but when you’re a SAHM to 3 kids your employability drops by a lot. I like my job and hope to be able to freelance/work remotely when I have children as I’d hate the idea of not having my own money to spend as a I choose. I wouldn’t agree to being given an allowance …
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/25 01:46 PM
3

I’m curious to see what their definition is
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/25 04:55 PM
3

What do you mean by treating him like a kid?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/25 02:52 PM
3

What are you assuming my standards are? Because I’ve already said I don’t mind dating someone who earns less than me. Runner/active would be a perk as I’m training for a marathon which takes up a lot of my time.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/25 02:49 PM
3

Just because I’m self sufficient doesn’t mean I can’t fall in love or get attached to someone..? There are plenty of ways to be needed outside of finances. By sexual compatibility I guess I mean someone I find attractive and finds me attractive, but I don’t do sex with guys until I know them well and we’ve established exclusivity.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/25 02:46 PM
4

Haha I was joking about the FemDom thing, I just find it funny when guys talk about girls being “freaky” when what they’re really referring to is women being submissive/emulating pornstars
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/25 02:44 PM
4

What if the “freakishness” is being a FemDom? On a first date I agree it’s a no, but at some point it’s normal to talk about what you do for work and you can get an idea of what their career is an how much they make.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/25 02:36 PM
3

What masculine traits are you assuming I have? Im in good shape and don’t struggle getting attention from attractive guys, hard to convey I’m a nice person over Reddit but I have a large social circle and I assume at least some of them are around me because they enjoy it, and I funded my way through university by being a chef/caterer 🤷🏼‍♀️ The problem with marriage that puts me off is the fact I have a lot more to lose than most men do, I’m not sure marriage is a safe option for me.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/25 02:33 PM
6

I’m training for a marathon so I don’t think I struggle with motivation or discipline. I don’t really expect much from a partner because I’m pretty self sufficient as I’ve made a great community and have wonderful friends and family. There’s not a whole lot I need from a partner other than sexual compatibility, someone who I can have interesting conversations and laugh with.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/25 02:26 PM
4

My job is an indicator of my drive and abilities which isn’t a relationship attribute but it is my own, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with having pride in what I’ve achieved, I just don’t go on about it and certainly not to people I date. What “acting like it adds anything to your SMV” entail exactly?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/25 02:24 PM
3

I’m not suggesting I have a SAHD
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/25 02:19 PM
8

I don’t expect my income to be a selling point, I just didn’t expect it to be a source of resentment for partners.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/25 02:05 PM
4

Or we share responsibility of the home making and expenses like the majority of couples do
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/25 02:01 PM
3

I am in a relationship btw lol I don’t wear flashy clothes or do anytime to “look” high earning, but once they find out my job and where I work it’s pretty easy to assume what kind of money I’m on, plus the fact I’m a homeowner in London. Not sure I’m open to lying about my job or income if they ask. I don’t want to be a SAHM is the issue. I want to remote freelance/pay for a cleaner and occasional nanny for help. The men I date want me to be a SAHM.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/25 01:45 PM
4

How exactly have I taken his role and what was my alternative? Not buy a place?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/25 01:27 PM
7

My ideal set up would be to remote freelance/go part time so I’d be earning less than I do but I’d still have some career. Tbh not something I’ve thought much about as no man I’ve met has said he could even consider being a SAHD.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/25 01:08 PM
9

I suppose it’s more when we get to children and what the desired dynamic would be. I struggle with the expectation to give up my career when financially it’s the less rational option.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/25 01:05 PM
5

What else is paying my mortgage..? I also have a great family, friends, hobbies and community and I enjoy my job - but those things aren’t really relevant here
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/25 01:01 PM

This won’t bother women who are happy in their relationships, I’ve made jokes about it to my bf
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/25 12:05 PM

If a woman you were dating owned her own place and you didn’t, how would you want to move in. Would you pay bills, pay her rent, or ask for your name to be added to the mortgage?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/25 12:03 PM

If she already has those things she’ll be fine. My problem is that a disproportionate amount of my time goes to trying to keep him happy.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/25 04:15 PM

Unfortunately I’ve recently moved in with him which makes it a lot harder, I’m really regretting it as he’s the one who pushed for it. I keep hearing the narrative that at my age my options are low so I should either be okay with being alone forever or be willing to stick it out.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/25 03:27 PM

Is 26 too late to leave a relationship and start over? I know if I stay he’ll like propose within a year and I’ll be married the year after and I thought that’s what I wanted; but I can’t stop imagining the time and freedom I’d have being single, and I don’t want kids as much as he does.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/25 03:23 PM
2

Nah bc I plan to continue working
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/25 08:05 PM
2

But sure, I’d never pay alimony to an ex husband
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/25 03:51 PM
2

Where did I say that exactly?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/25 03:50 PM
3

Not even close to what I was saying but glad you got that off your chest ig
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/25 12:00 PM

People change over time, especially if you meet them young. No amount of “vetting” can mitigate that. People can go through things that completely change them. Job loss, family deaths, accidents, addictions etc. I had a relationship from 20-24 and in that short span we grew apart, we became very different and weren’t compatible anymore. We weren’t the same people we were as when we started dating and that’s fine. I’m much happier we broke up than him stay with me if he wasn’t happy, and vice ver…
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/25 11:59 AM
12

Not being exciting isn’t the same as cohabiting with someone who makes you miserable to be around. I’d far rather someone divorce me than stay with me and be miserable
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/25 11:42 AM
5

Why do you think people should stay in a marriage they’re not happy or compatible in?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/25 11:35 AM
3

You have an array of wealthy men who don’t want prenups trying to marry you? Not trying to knock you but being pragmatic and self sufficient is important no matter who you’re married to
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/25 06:21 PM
2

And if he has a watertight prenup and leaves you?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/25 06:07 PM
3

I’ll keep working bc if my husband leaves or dies that’s a tough spot to be in
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/25 06:00 PM
2

Having close friends is very important and I agree a lot of people overlook that, but also I can’t expect my close friends to look out for me and put me first in the same way I would to my partner. I mean even the word “partner” kind of spells it out for you.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/25 04:31 PM
2

I think a hallmark of real love in a relationship is when shit hits the fan, that person is going to do their best to be there for you and make life easier as much as they can. It’s nice to have someone in your corner and to be in their corner when they need you. A lot of people underestimate how important it is for us to feel needed.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/25 04:21 PM
2

Fair enough, I wouldn’t circumcise my son unless it was medically necessary but it’s also much less common in the UK. Agreed with ear piercings although that seems to be more of a cultural thing. I was desperate to get mine pierced and my mum didn’t allow it until I was 13 which I was fuming about lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/25 12:49 PM
6

Exactly. If the kid is being cared for and has a stable home, who cares who that’s with? Can’t really win either way. If you don’t work you’re not pulling your weight financially and you’re sponging off your husband, and if you do work you’re a bad mother who cares more about a job than her children.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/25 10:26 AM
0

I find this topic so interesting. My bf is circumcised and has no negative feelings about it and if anything he likes that it’s cleaner and neater. I asked if he’d want his son to be circumcised and he said he wasn’t bothered either way. Not sure why he was circumcised as he’s British which is unusual, and not religious. It’s only ever online I’ve seen people express a very negative opinion on it.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/25 09:12 AM
13

I see this one woman online who talks about her sons father having full custody and she gets regularly crucified for it. She still sees her son but she’s more of a “Disneyland” parent, they’ll go on weekends away and trips but he stays with his father for the most part. She says that the father is better at the day to day stuff and enjoys it a lot more than she does, and everyone is happy with this set up. I had friends who were shuttled to each parents house every week as a kid and hated it, so…
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/25 09:07 AM
4

She was expressing solidarity for their shared struggles which he has publicised a lot, he was arsey for no reason. It would save everyone a lot of trouble if men were happier without women, trust me
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/25 02:34 PM
8

Decentering men isn’t exclusive to being single, and she can still talk about previous times in your life you’ve been single and decentered men
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/25 12:29 PM
4

More than a tiny portion of men are in relationships/have sex/date
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/25 11:56 AM
11

That’s… literally the point she was making
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/25 11:56 AM
3

Nah a lot of women do: serial daters, women obsessed with their appearance, pick me girls, homewreckers etc. common denominator is that they’re all miserable
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/25 10:42 AM
11

Why the hostility ahaha
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/25 10:40 AM
1

Not the best example as I’m in a LTR but when I was single I wasn’t dating and very much decentered men- I randomly met my bf in a club and things took off from there. My last relationship, I felt like my ex’s mother and that he needed me so much more than I needed him. When we broke up I had so much time and energy to put into myself, my friends and my hobbies. I lost weight, got a new better job, made a bunch of new friends, got back into my hobbies like climbing and running. I didn’t want to …
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/25 10:23 AM
5

When someone vents to me it doesn’t ruin my mood or my day, if they’re my friend I’d far rather they felt comfortable telling me than holding it in. To me it’s a sign someone feels safe and comfortable around me which I’d hope all my friends feel around me. It would only get annoying if the venting was constant and about the same issue which could be resolved but they won’t for whatever reason. Or if they only ever wanted to vent to me about their issues without ever checking in on me.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/25 05:16 PM
15

I remember talking to a bunch of male coworkers and i can’t remember how we got into the topic but I was saying how if I was really struggling or had a terrible day, I would call my friends to vent and it always makes me feel better. They seemed to find that really weird and I was explaining that it’s not that I was after advice or answers but sometimes just having someone listen while you vent can make you feel a hundred times better, you work through it and calm down and it becomes far less in…
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/25 04:39 PM

Literally - any time I’ve lowered my standards I have SORELY regretted it. Last time I was single I kept them shamelessly high and am now with someone I didn’t have to convince myself to find attractive, it’s great.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/25 03:24 PM
4

As exemplified by the fact not a single man who doesn’t fit these characteristics is in a relationship!
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/25 01:57 PM
4

Which high standards exactly?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/25 01:51 PM

It’s wild that this even needs saying. If a guy felt he could do better than me I wouldn’t begrudge him of that at all and I’d much rather he found someone else than CONVINCE himself to like me. I’d find that so demeaning. Do these men have zero pride?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/25 01:48 PM
9

Home made food can still be excellent though… you’re either attracted to someone and want to be with them, or you’re not. You can’t be convinced into it. Same with food, you can maybe stomach food that isn’t as nice but that doesn’t mean you’ll keep choosing it knowing you can just have the 3-star food if you want it.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/25 01:46 PM
10

This is why having your own income and stability is so important for women. My partner may wake up in 20 years and decide I’m no longer attractive and if I can’t support myself, my livelihood is contingent on somehow defeating ageing.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/25 02:27 PM
2

I don’t mind venting or partners opening up, that’s a normal and given part of any relationship. For me I’ve struggled with partners who feel neglected and resentful whenever I want to do stuff with my friends or by myself, because they expect me to mould my entire world around them.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/25 10:32 AM
1

Yes - in every relationship including my current my partner has always needed me much more than I need them. This is because I have a very active social life and am lucky to have a lot of close friends I can call on for support when I need it. The majority of men don’t have this and all their emotional needs get dropped onto my lap. I don’t tend to share all my problems with my partner because on some issues I know my friends are better equipped to deal with it.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/25 08:01 AM
1

The vast majority of school/uni dropouts do not go on to be successful entrepreneurs
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/25 04:04 PM
1

How many people with those traits actually end up as successful entrepreneurs? You also need to be focused and driven which is also what makes someone good academically.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/25 03:55 PM

And if it’s my home?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/25 11:05 AM

Why do you assume it’s his home?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/25 10:54 AM
3

Yes, you clearly know more about my relationship than I do!
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/25 10:48 AM
5

How is him pulling his weight in a home he lives in to my benefit?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/25 10:48 AM
6

Well yeah, when someone does something unattractive… you find them unattractive
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/25 10:01 AM

That attitude generally doesn’t bode for a happy, healthy relationship. Weirdly, I care more about being a good partner and not a lazy ass. He’s my partner, not my child.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/25 08:59 AM

If I have sex with someone I find attractive, is that me “rewarding” them for finding them attractive
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/25 08:58 AM

I own the home my bf and I live in. Does that mean I’m exempt from doing any housework?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/25 08:56 AM

Women like sex with men that aren’t inconsiderate and incompetent.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/25 08:56 AM

What do you mean by leverage? If they both live in the same home, they’re both responsible for its condition
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/25 08:51 AM

Wild that you’re backing your argument with two extremely different subreddits 😂 not having a backbone is unattractive, so is being lazy and inconsiderate - both can be true!
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/25 08:32 AM

Ahahahah you really don’t get it at all, it was never about the dishes
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/25 08:30 AM

As a man who presumably wants a good sex life with a woman, it’s worthwhile understanding women’s sexuality
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/25 08:22 AM

It’s not about ‘leveraging’ sex. It’s genuinely hard to be attracted to someone who’s sloppy, lazy and doesn’t respect your time. Why is this so hard to understand?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/25 07:34 AM

Both partners should be. So if he isn’t, he needs to start doing his share

/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/25 09:47 PM

Funnily - girls perform better academically in all girls schools. However, boys perform better academically in mixed schools.

At my university (top 10 in the UK) when you submitted coursework or exams, the names would be redacted before they got to the examiner… from a quick search, this is more common in the UK and less so in the US.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/25 09:42 PM
6

Idk about where you’re from, but exams and coursework are marked blind… as in examiners shouldn’t be able to see the name so they can’t have any bias from gender, race etc
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/25 09:39 PM

Has the way children are educated dramatically changed in the last 100 years? In my parents generation students were also expected to be still and learn.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/25 09:38 PM

No, but I’m interested to see why people think this is
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/25 09:37 PM

How is being impatient and breaking rules beneficial in the “real world”?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/25 09:36 PM

Why do you think young girls are excelling academically more than boys?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/25 09:12 PM

Usually women don’t suddenly start clubbing and wearing revealing clothes AFTER you become official. That’s what the dating period is for. If you don’t like how she lives her life, that’s fine, move on. My bf tried to get me to go out less until I pointed out I literally met him on a night out lol, that bought that conversation to a close.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/25 03:54 PM

Not saying it’s anyone’s fault just pointing out the issue with the stats people love quoting to claim that women are constantly just leaving marriages for any minor reason
/r/PurplePillDebate04/04/25 02:47 PM
9

Child support, funnily enough, is for his children… All of the above can be dealt with by a prenup, most people don’t have assets and property to worry about being taken off them.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/04/25 02:20 PM
3

What other payouts?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/04/25 01:54 PM

I’ve known multiple cases when it was the man who left or cheated but wasn’t the one to file the paperwork as he couldn’t be bothered and I believe this is pretty commonplace and skews the overall stats a lot. Especially as if the man is trying to protect his assets, he can do that more easily if she’s the one filing.

/r/PurplePillDebate26/03/25 09:47 PM

Not really. There are plenty of hot guys around, there’s no reason for me to keep one around who doesn’t treat me well.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/03/25 04:34 PM
10

Except they behaved very differently
/r/PurplePillDebate26/03/25 04:19 PM
13

You just have the inverse halo effect - nothing you say actually disproves my point. Not all unattractive guys are automatically going to treat a woman better and there are many valid reasons as to why they’d treat her worse.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/03/25 04:07 PM
29

This! The idea that if you date a man less attractive - he’ll wow you with his dazzling personality and treat you wonderfully couldn’t be further from the truth. They get possessive, jealous and MEAN because they’re always trying to knock you down a peg so you won’t leave for someone better. My ex who treated me horribly I had to convince myself to find attractive, whereas I was immediately very attracted to my bf who treats me well. Idk why men assume that attractive men are all dogs who cheat …
/r/PurplePillDebate26/03/25 12:17 PM

Honestly - be attractive enough that women will pursue you

Pregnancy is a separate issue, weight gain is kind of inevitable when you’re growing a human in your body. He’s a relatively young man in the physical prime of his life, there’s no good reason for him to be overweight.

He was pretty heavy to start out with, idk how much weight he’s gained but it’s to the point my mum has noticed it. I get a bit frustrated because I’m so regimented in working out and making sure my body looks the best it can because he’s the one seeing and I want him to be proud to have me on his arm, I wish he reciprocated that feeling

What advise would you give to a woman who’s losing attraction to her bf because of his weight? FYI I’m a pretty fit person, I’m training for a marathon and I go to the gym regularly and eat very healthy, so trying to lead by example hasn’t really worked. He’s been gaining weight and the amount he can eat can be offputting to me sometimes, but the last thing I want to do is make him insecure or hurt his feelings, but he has made some comments he doesn’t feel like I’m as attracted to him.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/25 08:49 AM

Last time I had a dating app I was 20, I kept my age range from 20-26. I never lied about my age. Since that I’ve had 2 relationships both of whom I met in real life, the first was the same age as me and my bf now is 2 years older.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/25 10:26 AM

Are you sure? Birth rates are dropping rapidly, many women I know aren’t keen on having children ever.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/03/25 03:37 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/25 11:51 AM

Political parties with stringent anti immigrations policies tend to also be opposed to women. The UK Reform party for example: one of the candidates has tweeted that the main thing young girls can aspire to is to have sons. Not a great way to appeal to female voters. Nigel Farage also wants to limit when women can have abortions, despite 90% of abortions taking place before 10 weeks in the UK. A lot of foetal abnormalities aren’t detected until 20 weeks - and these can be detrimental to the moth…

/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/25 08:01 AM

And what would incentivise any of them to leave? If I leave my job I’ll be homeless within months and I guess have to move back in with my parents who would rather I didn’t cramp their style in their retirement. What should my bf do in this situation?

/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/25 09:06 PM

I think the grass is always greener and we’ll always wonder what a different path would have looked like. As a woman, it’s actually very easy to get married if that’s what you want. The quality of the man and the marriage is a different matter.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/25 08:57 PM
5

So why can’t you apply that rationale to older women?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/25 08:45 PM
3

How do you mean “too much power” exactly? Surely that power is only given to them by the men who choose to reward them for it?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/25 08:44 PM
3

But then how does that benefit the women? How do they know the man loves them for them, and not just because they’re beautiful and young, which is only temporary?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/25 08:37 PM
6

On the basis I believe in social, political and economic equality for both sexes, yes I am a feminist. The newer waves have elements I’m less convinced on as I think trivialise the entire movement and infantilise women.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/25 02:43 PM
8

Because my bf and I have talked about it and he said he’d feel very emasculated if I did, it’s something he feels very strongly about wanting to do himself. No reason for me to steal his thunder. I approached my bf and made it known I was into him (we met in a bar) but he’s the one who asked me out, if that answers your question.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/25 02:38 PM
2

That’s fair, my parents aren’t divorced so I’m fortunate I’ve not had to learn about these logistics. The outcome should be what’s best for the child, with involvement from both parents if possible but of course 50/50 is unrealistic in a lot of cases.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/25 02:36 PM
4

Scanning your post - I’ve never hit a man and don’t plan to I’m not against women proposing to their bfs although I personally wouldn’t I always offer to split on dates, although as my bf earns more lives at home he insists on picking up more cheques I’m pro choice but think men should be allowed to opt out if they do so before the abortion cutoff… anything else?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/25 02:31 PM
13

A main one I can think of is women who get the upper hand is child custody cases. Not much I can do there since I don’t have or plan to have children, nor do I work in family law. But I strongly feel that if a child has two competent, loving parents then they should spend time with each of them.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/25 02:19 PM
1

I haven’t, and in the real world nobody considers a 25 year old a child. You should have enough maturity and life experience to know what comes with dating someone significantly older. (significantly older to me means someone who could easily be your parent, not talking about a few years)
/r/PurplePillDebate07/03/25 10:30 AM

Your female friends don’t account for all women Idk what age range we’re talking - but usually women who say this do so because younger men are usually more immature and don’t want to settle down yet compared to men in their later 20s but again, I need an age range here. But you’re asking me to explain the preferences of a few women I have never spoken to… why don’t you ask them?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/25 04:52 PM

Younger men are also prettier and less likely to have children. Also, multiple things can be true at once.

It’s a sweeping generalisation from both sides. People can be single at 35 for a myriad of reasons that aren’t their fault. From what I’ve seen - the most common reason is that that they were in a long term relationship that didn’t work out, but dragged on years longer than it should have. I don’t condone criticising people for being single because it’s not my business why they are. The backlash about older men dating younger women isn’t so much why is he single at X age but rather why they don’…

None. They have no interest in finding meaningful connection or improving themselves in ways that don’t directly impact their desirability to men. I’ve read something about the importance of education, not for yourself, but because rich men are more likely to pursue educated women?? All that debt and hard work just to improve your odds of securing a man?? It’s supposed to be empowering but is incredibly vapid and male centric. Most people already know how to cook before being in a relationship. Also when you’re in a relationship you’re in that relationship 24/7 - you just spend time doing other things as well. So do you just expect her to be cooking for 8 hours straight while you’re at work? Why can’t she just go to work as well ahaha
/r/PurplePillDebate28/02/25 04:58 PM
2

Can you be specific on “acquiring skills to spend time with your partner in a different way”? I meant if she’s spending 8 hours a day with you, how do YOU have a career unless she’s following you around work.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/02/25 04:21 PM

How exactly does someone dedicate 8 hours a day to a relationship? How does that leave you with any time for a career?

What do you mean by “respecting your man” - like which particular actions does that entail in this context
/r/PurplePillDebate28/02/25 12:13 PM

I mean, that’s still a whole year where a woman needs to be with the child a lot more, and you’d still expect her to fully provide as well?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/02/25 08:56 AM

Not necessarily. I’ve travelled a fair bit, I go to raves and love a night out, by a lot of markers people assume I’ve had a lot more partners than I have. I also know some women who are very proper but have slept with 30+ people and you’d never guess.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/02/25 09:36 AM
1

You do realise many women breastfeed for up to a year, sometimes longer?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/02/25 08:30 AM

Sure, but it’s not exactly straightforward to do. Asking someone their past early on is a pretty good way to put a spanner in the works. I have a very low body count and I’d still be put off by a man prying into my past.

I literally live in a city with the highest crime rate of my country. If you were trying to attack or mug someone, you’d prefer my odds with someone smaller, it’s pretty straightforward. It is literally the primal reason WHY women prefer tall men. It’s like men preferring a certain hip to waist ratio and all the rest. Is it misogynist if you expect a woman to be caring a nurturing? Call it misandrist if you want, it’s the truth.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/02/25 04:25 PM

You even said yourself you’re short so yeah, YOUR size won’t make a difference to how likely she is to be attacked.

/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/25 04:18 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/25 03:56 PM

And what constitutes as “everyone” because that’s quite the feat if it really is everyone
/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/25 02:48 PM

How do you mean “experienced” your wife?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/25 02:26 PM

Ask why those men are happy to be with women who earn less
/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/25 01:39 PM

It is if they choose to stay, (assuming they’re not in any danger if they did leave)
/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/25 01:38 PM

Obviously not, but that’s not the same as dating around when you’re young until you meet someone you like and want to settle down with. My bf didn’t meet me until he was 26, I don’t feel begrudged by the fact he had past relationships and hookups before me, in fact I’m glad he did as it gave him some insight and experience that helps keep our relationship happy and healthy. I’d be FAR more bitter if I was still with the man I was with at 18.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/25 01:11 PM

I would prefer to do it proportional to income (yes even if I earned more) but I want to be a SAHM until my child is old enough for school so during that time that obviously means he would be the breadwinner. While the child/children are school age I’d still expect my partner to pick up most of the bills given that I’d probably still be doing the majority of the parenting. /r/PurplePillDebate24/02/25 12:43 PM
2

Because you’ve made your intention clear already
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/25 12:24 PM

The issue isn’t men participating, it’s how the behave with the women in that class. If they’re genuinely just there to improve their core strength great for them.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/25 11:46 AM
3

It’s fairly painfully obvious if you’re the only man in a woman’s workout class. The reason I’m even aware of this is because I’ve heard women complain about men joining women’s classes and trying to hit on them in there. The sports I do are more male dominated so it makes no difference to me and I’m also in a relationship. You sound like someone who wears a fedora, you’re not nearly as suave as you think you are I’m afraid 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/25 11:11 AM

I don’t expect you to care what I think, but if you’re at a Pilates class hoping to meet women there, I imagine you’d care what they think.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/25 09:48 AM

The same reasons many people would say an woman shouldn’t expect a fit man to want to date her
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/25 06:41 AM

And who’s attacking the man..?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/02/25 07:40 PM

I don’t pose the same physical threat as he does but an attacker will always target someone who’s alone versus multiple people
/r/PurplePillDebate23/02/25 07:33 PM
3

I’m not expecting him to give up his life for me lol. I’m significantly safer just walking with a 6’2 well built man than I would be alone and he doesn’t have to do anything.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/02/25 07:26 PM
3

Where did I say I see him as disposable? I just said it’s a nice perk. Same as men who like a woman who works out because of how her body looks. It’s not the entire thing but it’s nice.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/02/25 07:18 PM

Why ‘more’ fit?

/r/PurplePillDebate23/02/25 05:14 PM

By out of shape do you mean overweight? Wow that’s crazy, didn’t know it was that high in the US. I agree with you but there are a myriad of reasons around health and quality of life to be in good shape. I was never out of shape to begin with but when I started running long distance running the amount of energy I now have is crazy. I am so much happier and more productive as a result, I couldn’t care less if it makes me more or less attractive to men.

How so?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/02/25 04:09 PM

Can you elaborate on that?

Why exactly is an obese woman low status, is an obese man low status?

My bf approached me in a bar :) also I didn’t mention cold approaching outside of a Pilates class at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/02/25 01:22 PM

Fair enough! I like having a strong, active partner for that reason but it’s also nice to know I’m safe around him if we’re travelling or walking at night, and if I got hurt he could haul my ass out 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate23/02/25 11:16 AM
5

I suppose the issue you’ve pointed out is what I’m picking up on. A lot of men describe the obesity epidemic as if it’s only women who are overweight and obese when it’s largely the same for both genders (varies within different age groups, demographics etc but not by much)
/r/PurplePillDebate23/02/25 11:11 AM

What metric is that based off - people who attend a gym? Genuinely curious not being snarky.

I’d say being pregnant and risking your life to give birth is someone what strenuous than taking the trash out. Daycare costs more than a lot of peoples salaries. And I’d rather raise my own baby than leave it with someone else. My “50” of the equation would be looking after the baby and the home. Something that would cost a LOT to outsource to someone else. The key is just to find someone who is willing and able to provide that for me. I am not obliged to have babies with someone who can’t fina…

Many women breastfeed for up to a year, sometimes more. You’re not actually addressing my point, just throwing out random strawmen about how some women don’t breastfeed. Men biologically can’t go 50/50 on these things so why do they expect 50/50 finances from women during this time?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/25 01:47 PM
2

Unless you have tits you can breastfeed with, the early stages of childcare are pretty much all her. Do what works for you but I can’t imagine going through pregnancy, childbirth, doing the lions share of looking after a baby to still be expected to cough up half for the bills. Any woman who agrees to this is insane imo. I’ve made this explicitly clear to my partner who fortunately feels the same as I do.

The category “teen” is one of the most popular categories in porn, and a lot of these women are dressed as schoolgirls, have fake braces or juvenile hairstyles to look younger than 18. It is absolutely about looking like young teenagers. There’s also a lot of exploitation and trafficking that goes in porn and a lot of the women even on more “reputable” sites are underaged or there against their will (look up the court case from “girls do porn”)
/r/PurplePillDebate24/01/25 04:05 PM
9

Porn isn’t the issue itself, the disgust usually comes from men who regularly watch porn that’s very degrading to women or features women who are clearly supposed to look like young teenagers. Don’t really see how that’s comparable to women who want sugar daddies
/r/PurplePillDebate24/01/25 01:48 PM

Almost every successful and career driven woman I know is in a long term relationship, including myself. It’s not that hard. If I ever told someone I couldn’t date them bc I was focusing on my career, I’d be full of shit and the real reason would just be that I didn’t want them and I’m trying to be nice about it. My bf works 7-7 in the office most days and we still make time for eachother because we want to.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/01/25 08:46 AM

My point was as a woman who’s also predisposed to carrying more breast tissue, 19% body fat looks very different on me than it would on a man. Because our bodies are ✨different✨ which the guy above is struggling to grasp.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/25 01:42 PM
2

Because women genetically have to hold more body fat… I fear this is common knowledge my guy. If I was at 12% BF like a gym bro I’d be severely unhealthy, I’d make myself infertile and end up with osteoporosis.

If you ate what the average man ate, you’d also be fat. I’ve been weight training for 6 years, I’m training for a half marathon and my bf% is 19, I’m all good unsolicited advice.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/25 12:35 PM

Men’s BMR is much higher than women’s, meaning you can eat more and still lose weight or maintain… weight is mostly determined by food intake
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/25 12:00 PM

Women have tits and ass and naturally carry more fat. Even at 115lbs I was still a C/D cup and obviously those bad boys hold weight. The stats are about the same. Because of hormones, muscle mass and height it’s also much easier for a man to be a healthy weight.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/25 11:46 AM

The average male is overweight and probably isn’t focused on macros
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/25 11:21 AM

I should clarify - the job I got was my career, it was a graduate scheme for an investment bank where I’m now at in a senior role. Also, women in positions like mine have pick of higher earnjng men. /r/PurplePillDebate20/01/25 08:58 AM
8

But you have to put the groundwork in your 20s to take off in your 30s/40s. I’m in a long term relationship and earn a lot more than the average salary for my age (24). Every woman I work with is also either married or in a relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/25 08:55 AM

Where did I say that? I’m saying you can pursue both in your 20s if you want to.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/25 08:49 AM

More of a response to your advice of “MAN first, everything else second” you can be both successful and married, if you want to be

/r/PurplePillDebate17/01/25 11:28 AM

Because porn perpetuates the idea that all women enjoy this so there’s no reason to ask permission. Regardless, it’s gross and dangerous to do that to someone if you don’t know they want it.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/25 05:28 PM
11

Not to mention how much porn is actually showing victims. Look up the court cases behind “Girls Do Porn” the victims were duped into thinking they were going to a vanilla clothing photoshoot, and instead were drugged, raped and had the videos distributed against their will and it ruined their lives.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/25 05:25 PM
17

Every single one of my friends has had a man slap them, choke them or start doing anal without asking for permission and it is because of porn. In some cases it’s lead to some real trauma and future aversion to intimacy.

And what if the answer is no?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/25 05:01 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/25 04:46 PM

Yeah, not ideal that his gf used to hook up with you although bizarre it took until that party for you to realise although your story is also bizarre. In 8-9 months, he really never showed you a picture of her, mentioned her on social media, or even said her name or any other clues that would make you connect the dots? If he knew the name and some details of the girl while you were hooking up with her, would he not wonder if she was the same person when they started dating? I live in a capital ci…

False equivalency and irrelevant
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/25 03:30 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate26/12/24 12:02 AM

That’s hyperbole, a lot of people meet partners offline, I’m hardly an anomaly
/r/PurplePillDebate25/12/24 11:28 PM

That’s kind of how it’s worked for me, the times I’ve met someone I was just out living my life and it happened unexpectedly
/r/PurplePillDebate25/12/24 11:17 PM

Or if you’re gna go clubbing, go because you enjoy it, don’t ruin your night by hoping a woman is going to talk to you
/r/PurplePillDebate25/12/24 10:57 PM

Well I didn’t go to that club trying to meet someone the way I would if I went to a singles event or dating app. I go there to dance and scream pop songs in my friends faces.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/12/24 10:20 PM

I know that, and I’m aware of the risks, but that doesn’t change the fact that a lot of couples meet at work or through friends. All relationships have negative ramifications if they fall apart. I didn’t meet my bf at a singles event, it was just a normal club, I know a fair few people who met that way
/r/PurplePillDebate25/12/24 09:50 PM

Yeah, I met my bf in a club. I met my ex at a friends birthday party, and my ex before him at a university house party. I’ve never liked apps or thought they bought any value. Most of my friends met their partners through mutual friends, work, uni. To be fair I’ve met my bf in the more unusual way, but apps are still a fairly small percentage to what I’ve been exposed to. I think a lot of people are very jaded by apps and just want to meet people in real life now.

Is anything ever mens fault lol I’m in my twenties and engaged, I’m doing fine. But I’m also aware that I got really lucky with how I met my partner and the type of person he is, there aren’t many men like him around and I wouldn’t settle for anything less just to be engaged. My friends who are older and still single are attractive, slim, kind people, they just have a shit run with men.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/12/24 12:45 AM

From what I’ve seen, most were in relationships for most of their twenties that ended up not working out.

So she doesn’t hit the wall because you got to be with her during her “best” years, but she still looks the same as she did if she were single - And you wouldn’t be tempted to find another 22 year old? I wondered when weight would come into this. Men here talk about weight like the average man is lean and fit and it’s just women who are overweight 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate24/12/24 12:02 AM
6

What do you mean by “got some of her youth”? Really weird phrasing. From 22 to 31 she would become more mature and self assured, have more income, and wouldn’t look that different if she took good care of herself…
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/24 11:49 PM
3

You could argue that attractive people are used to getting attention and aren’t thrown off or phases by it. If an unattractive guy with a gf gets hit on, he’s much more likely to get gassed up and contemplate acting on it because there’s much more novelty to it. I’ve seen so many couples where the more unattractive partner cheats, I think it’s a way for them to “even” the scales or to feel superior. With men it’s a case of kill the cheerleader.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/24 11:08 PM
7

I mean, my taller friends have always struggled with dating guys and feel they can’t wear heels unless the guy is significantly taller. Even I’ve been told by a guy friend he wouldn’t date someone my height (he’s also 5’6) A lot of famous heartthrobs are short women, Selma Hyek for example. These days you don’t rlly hear about guys lusting after VS models.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/24 11:03 PM
2

Fair enough, I was just generalising and going off my own experiences :)
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/24 10:55 PM
9

The fashion industry is predominantly upheld by gay men… A 5’9 man (which is average height) would choose a 5’3 woman over a 5’9 woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/24 10:39 PM
8

The divorce rate is highest among couples with a 20+ year age gap, so telling women to pursue significantly older men isn’t really a good idea, unless she’s after a few years of a comfortable life.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/24 10:21 PM
4

Idk why heights a thing here, I see a lot of men who consider any woman over 5’5 a behemoth. Saying this as someone who’s 5’6. Besides, majority of people are overweight and most people as asymmetrical. Being super fit and symmetrical would put you in the top category of women. Being short gives you more options. Most men prefer a woman at least a few inches shorter.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/24 10:05 PM

The issue remains that I don’t want to be a step mother. And it would be cruel of me to be around a child I have no interest in looking after.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/24 07:52 PM
7

The difference is though I’d vow to look after my partner no matter what happened, not some random kid that pops up years in and has nothing to do with me.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/24 07:45 PM
8

I don’t mind one day being a carer for my partner if such a thing were to happen. I just don’t want to be a step mother. Vows don’t include “even if you have children you were previously unaware of” I also wouldn’t really want to marry someone who had a history of casual sex to the point he knocked someone up without even knowing about it. If the baby mama was suddenly coming out from the woodwork I just wouldn’t want any part of that drama.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/24 07:27 PM
8

Bringing in a child I never vowed to raise because I wasn’t even aware of their existence is a fairly good way to negate the vows. It’s certainly a lot more than a minor inconvenience. I do not want to be a step mother, but I know how harmful it is for children to have an adult in their life who clearly doesn’t want to be there. I wouldn’t traumatise a child like that, therefore the correct action would be for me to leave.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/24 07:22 PM

Don’t have an issue with 50/50, but you can’t expect the perks of both a traditional relationship and a modern one. Pick a lane, you’ll be happier for it.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/24 06:12 PM
11

I’d leave. I wouldn’t want to raise a child that’s not my own and deal with the drama and the hassle that would come with the child’s mother. I’d wish them a happy life and see myself out. I’m still pretty young, I can find a man that doesn’t have an elf child wondering around.

Taking someone to KFC as a first date is a glaringly clear sign you don’t have a high opinion of them and don’t really care if they have a nice time. The issue isn’t even money, there are plenty of cheap/free dates you can do which are still thoughtful and nice.

They want to be revered and respected but also coddled and have what they deem an “equal” relationship. And they’re upset that this unicorn is nowhere to be found.

A woman not wanting a KFC date is subsequently a nightmare? Says a lot about you if you’re seeking out women who don’t respect themselves and accept bare minimum crumbs.

Yeahhh this is way off. Attractive women know they can get rich men so why would they split or even pay. Kind why sugar babies and trophy wives are a thing. Plus most attractive women require money to be/maintaining attractiveness.

I’ve met a couple guys through friends who are deep in the manosphere realm and in my experience they are SO obvious with it. My friend was dating one of these guys who wouldn’t stop going on about how “logical” he was and spouted a load of bro science to my boyfriend, who has a degree in chemistry. Then went on about “traditional values” and basically wouldn’t leave me alone about feminism and referred to himself as a “high value male” even when I tried to steer the conversation to more normal …

It’s a how long is a piece of string question. I’ve been really lucky and had a really easy time. I met my ex at a party through friends, a few weeks after we broke up I met my boyfriend in a club. I’ve been on a handful of dates from hinge when I was at uni that were all a bit meh. Some guys meet the loves of their life in school or university and have an easy time with it. With my career trajectory I’ll be on 6 figures in a couple years and so will my boyfriend which works because when I was children I don’t want a sudden nosedive in my quality of life while I’m looking after a baby and unable to work. If that’s unreasonable, fine. I’ve made it clear I want to be a SAHM or go part time until all our children are old enough for school so I’d need him to shoulder the majority of the financial responsibilities which he’s very enthusiastic to do. Aren’t part of the shallow standards men here complain about related to income, which in this case does make a difference? If you have 3 kids and work full time, being able to afford a cleaner makes a world of difference for example. Or at least you can live in a much nicer home, or quit a shitty job without wondering how you’ll make rent.

What exactly is a “real man” and what does he do that differs from a pseudo man?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/24 10:59 PM

In the example we’re currently talking about - leaving your partner when she’s chronically or terminally ill rather than blaming who women reproduce with or raise their children.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/24 08:19 PM

Maybe men taking accountability rather than finding a way to blame women for all of their actions
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/24 07:13 PM

Explains why men are significantly more likely to leave their wives when they’re sick or get disabled
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/24 05:10 PM

Not in excess they’re not, particularly when they’re coming from ultra processed foods. Also, water has 0 calories and people drink it, it’s pretty necessary I hear

/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/24 04:57 PM

I’m with someone pretty great :) although the fear mongering about the wall is pretty daft bc what happens when I do age? by that logic he’ll automatically trade me in for another 23 year old.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/24 04:49 PM

In this scenario what is the woman getting out of the relationship if she’s working and also being a full time cook and maid for another person?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/24 04:35 PM

So while I’m working full time, pregnant full time, I’m also expected to do all the cooking and cleaning? Lucky me!
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/24 04:29 PM

Because people who are content and happy don’t make that much fuss about it, you’re only hearing from those who got unlucky
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/24 04:28 PM

You could try being with someone because you like them not because you’re trying to derive benefits from them

How is it harder for men to get a good education? I am the only woman on my team at work. Company wide it’s still only like 30% women. Women naturally have a higher body fat percentage, significantly less testosterone and hormone fluctuations. Its much harder to get your BF% low enough to have visible abs especially as we hold more fat in our stomach/hips and we have a much harder time putting on muscle.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/24 03:12 PM
7

And women don’t? I know that if I want a fit, successful, kind man it’s far easier to get that if I am also those things. I have a degree from a top 10 university and have a good job in finance which I worked my arse off for. Men here claim they don’t care about that stuff but trust me, the high value ones do. I train 5-6x a week, I take great care of myself, I journal and went to therapy to work through shit that happened in my past so it wouldn’t permeate into my new relationship. The quality …

Then they’re misguided. All relationships require work but if you care about the person you don’t get bitter or apathetic about it. I put work into my relationship but because I love him, I don’t get arsey about it.

If you consider it “work” then again, don’t be in a relationship
/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/24 02:15 PM

It’s pretty common for men’s effort to nosedive once they’re in the relationship and comfortable. It doesn’t align with OPs point that only women trying to secure men they’re far too inferior for say this. Another example is men having a parade thrown for them if they change a nappy or they’re out with their kid even though it’s … literally their kid. I’ve seen videos of a father braiding his daughters hair and the comments were full of women singing his praises, yet a woman doing her child’s ha…

The take is usually about men already in relationships and the effort they put in. A lot of times women justify staying with a crappy boyfriend because he doesn’t cheat or abuse her, hence where the saying comes from. That said I think it’s a stupid take because there are plenty of men who will treat you well if you’re selective about dating and look for those traits. I do disagree that the men treating women badly are “above them”. I’ve seen a lot of couples where the woman is significantly bet…

Why are you weirdly bitter about your sisters dating life? She’s obviously not ‘average’ to the men she’s attracting if they’re choosing her over other women.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/24 10:22 AM

I’d say again that comes down to self esteem. From my perspective why would I try to “win” someone’s attention when there are men who’d happily give me time and attention without me having to try? Maybe I have too much pride but I’d never work for a man’s attention. There are areas of my life I like to “work for” like my career and physical fitness so I don’t seek that out in my relationships. Same way I wouldn’t chase a friend who wasn’t giving me the time of day when I have other friends who d…

Well-adjusted, secure women find “bad boys” laborious and burdensome. I know my worth and know I can do a lot better, I also have enough excitement in my life I don’t crave it from someone who’ll probably give me herpes and trust issues. This is a common complaint from my single friends - a guy love bombs them and acts completely smitten but once things progress he does a 180. I have guy friends openly admit that they love the chase but they lose interest as soon as she reciprocates his energy. I was young and didn’t realise that this wasn’t actually very healthy or sustainable. It was never super toxic, no cheating I’m aware of, but towards the end I felt like I was watering a dead plant which made me sad and resentful. The endless benefits of exercise and having muscle mass for women are second to none. Mentally, regularly exercising has done more for me than anything else I’ve done over the years.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 12:50 PM

For every handful of female influencers being annoying yes, there are millions of women worldwide who just go to the gym to workout with no fuss or drama. Most gyms don’t have female content creators in them. Like I said, I’m all for banning cameras and tripods, I hate working out feeling like I’m awkwardly in the background of someone’s video. But because most of the people in my gym are men, I’ve only ever seen men film themselves and it’s equally irritating.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 10:03 AM

To exercise..? Besides I have a bf, so weird and irrelevant point

Luckily I have a partner who is very cooperative and we don’t have to tiptoe around eachother. If one of us has an issue, we talk it out and resolve it one way or another. It would stress me out more if he pulled the “we need to talk” care
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 08:12 AM

For every women he refers to, there are millions of women who go to the gym who don’t do any of those things
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 08:07 AM

This tells me you don’t actually go to the gym
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 08:06 AM

False, I’ve found a lot of really valuable information about nutrition and form from female influencers, plenty of them are accredited and qualified.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 09:24 PM
0

Exactly! I’ve seen plenty of bare nipples from men at my gym, none from women though.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 08:06 PM
2

Tbf I’ve only ever seen one woman wear an outfit like that (I’ve moved about a lot so I’ve been to 6-7 different gyms) and I remember clocking it and getting grossed out thinking of someone’s bare ass on gym equipment. Most women at my gym wear a sports bra and leggings, usually with a t shirt or long sleeve top over.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 08:05 PM
3

What’s a “revealing outfit” to you?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 07:43 PM
5

Because it’s weird and rude. Costs nothing to just not comment on someone’s appearance.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 07:43 PM
6

Why?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 07:39 PM
-4

Exactly - the men who rage about women in the gym online I’m very suspicious if they actually go to a gym in real life. Most women just go there in normal gym clothes, do their workout, leave. I’ve been going for about 6 years now. They act like we’re all waltzing in wearing bikinis, tripod in hand, ready to screech at any man who looks in our direction and post a video of him online. It just implies they’re chronically online and don’t actually spend much time on a gym when they bitch about it.…
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 07:37 PM
6

I mean they don’t usually give a ton of reasons, they’re just needlessly being spiteful in their comments
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 07:34 PM
9

Yet you don’t get women chiming in with unsolicited advice or comments about their body, at least not nearly to the same extent
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 07:32 PM
2

How is the conversation supposed to start without being one sided? Like men here always lament; you’re not mind readers. Let’s say the conversation is “can you stop gaming every evening and actually help out with the kids” and he brushes her off, what then?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 01:32 PM
2

But when any attempt to communicate is immediately labelled as nagging, what’s the point?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 12:55 PM
6

In those cases it isn’t strictly about how much the woman values the abusive man but how little she values herself. Financial abuse is also much more common than people realise and that also keeps them in that situation. Also, the most dangerous time in a woman’s life is in the six weeks after she leaves an abusive man and she is significantly more likely to be murdered. It is often safer to stay. Please educate yourself before spouting this drivel.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 08:27 AM
3

So if we don’t silently accept mens bad behaviour we are automatically nagging..? But if we just leave, then we’re fickle and don’t value relationships because we didn’t try to make it work.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 08:24 AM
5

I believe that

The 4B movement is hardly influential in the west, it’s just chatter on social media by a few extensors. It’s more prevalent in South Korea but if you look into it you’ll find there are very solid reasons for it.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/24 02:05 PM

Didn’t realise me having a tall bf would cause so much upset. Get a grip. I’m not out here snipping at everyone with a submissive/younger gf.

7

What happened to allowing preferences?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/24 01:36 PM
12

MGTOW is also a thing, so you consider that to be abandoning women?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/24 10:04 AM
15

But it’s not abandoning anyone if you’re single and decide to remain single because you have nobody to abandon. By your logic im abandoning short men by being a monogamous relationship with a happen who happens to be tall?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/24 09:34 AM
13

“Abandoning” implies some kind of obligation or duty of care to men, which there isn’t
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/24 09:04 AM
3

Any time I’ve seen a reel/tiktok of a woman sharing her experiences being abused by a partner/ex partner you don’t have to scroll far to see comments like “but what did she do” and “I want to hear his side of the story” and sure sometimes it’s just trolls and ragebait but some of them are legit and one video in particular was about a woman who was beaten to death by her partner and there were still comments like that.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/24 08:46 AM
15

Not wanting a partner isn’t “abandoning men”
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/24 08:44 AM
3

How old is she?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/11/24 09:56 PM
5

Exactly. The guys here who are obsessed with 18 year olds I’d love to know what their plan is. Do they think they can be like Leo and swap out their girlfriend when she hits 25? Most of them here complain they can barely get a woman at all, never mind a teenage model who’ll think the sun shines out their arse.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/11/24 02:28 PM
2

Nothing really to do with my comment? I’m pointing out there’s a lot of middle ground between skinny teenager and being “fat and sloppy”. Also, false. A body that works out usually looks better than a body that doesn’t, regardless of age and gender.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/11/24 02:15 PM

It’s bs. I’m 25 and I get more attention from much better looking men than I did when I was 18, plus I’m in a relationship with a man who’s wayyy higher value than the men I used to date. I’m in better shape now, wear nicer clothes and know how to style my features. Relax, majority of men in the real world aren’t weird about women over 25. Those who are, you don’t want anyway.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/11/24 09:15 PM

If you’re green enough to derive your perception of relationships from pop music you have bigger issues
/r/PurplePillDebate17/11/24 07:58 PM
7

I know those statements are hyperbole but a good relationship does feel like enjoying life with your best friend even though everyone is imperfect and life goes through rough patches
/r/PurplePillDebate17/11/24 05:53 PM

How are you able to tell they’re entitled militant feminists from a dating profile
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/24 10:06 PM
1

Yeah no you’re just unable to conceptualise a world outside of America. In Europe it’s pretty uncommon for someone to be circumcised unless it was for medical reasons or they’re Jewish
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/24 07:29 PM
1

Very weird thing to say
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/24 03:02 PM
1

It’s just… not America
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/24 03:01 PM

Like I said, I don’t feel that strongly about it either way. If it was something he wanted for our sons, I’d allow it. If he wasn’t bothered either way I wouldn’t insist on it.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/24 03:01 PM
1

No, I’m saying FGM refers to various types of removing the external genitalia of women so it’s not a fair comparison to circumcision which only refers to the removal of the foreskin
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/24 05:04 PM
2

How much choice do you think they get in that?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/24 05:02 PM
-6

That’s not what it is, it can refer to removing the clitoris entirely and sewing up the outer labia which can result in sepsis and make urination and penetration excruciating
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/24 05:01 PM
-2

He prefers the look and cleanliness and that he can last longer 🤷🏼‍♀️ also I’m not American, being circumcised is quite unusual where I’m from
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/24 04:55 PM
-8

The consequences aren’t really the same though, it’s a false equivalency.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/24 04:54 PM
1

He was actually a bit older when he had his done, like 6-7 years old because his foreskin was too tight and was causing him issues. Kids are a while in the future for us, i said im not bothered either way and happy to let him make the call.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/24 04:52 PM
-4

My bf is circumcised and he’s happy about it and would want his sons to be circumcised as well. I don’t think any women feel that way about FGM.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/24 04:39 PM
1

Maybe worry about Ranger instead
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/24 02:06 PM
1

Why though? I’m in a relationship with him, not society and like you’ve pointed out, everyone’s into something different. I know a drop dead gorgeous girl who’s exclusively into obese men. Guess so, I’ve never struggled with attracting the men I liked. Is there a point you’re trying to get to with this bizarre line of questioning?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/24 02:00 PM
1

Sure. I’m 5’6, slim and athletic, straight teeth and good bone structure. If he didn’t find me attractive, he wouldn’t be with me.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/24 01:55 PM
1

If my bf is a “Chad” then sure guess I am
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/24 01:50 PM
1

Not sure what that is, but he loves me and treats me very well, plus he was the one who pursued me so what difference does it make?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/24 01:48 PM
1

Ok, sounds like I’m a lucky girl, I knew this
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/24 01:45 PM
1

What is it then?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/24 01:34 PM
1

Why do you assume he’s a Chad? You know nothing about him or his history, he hasn’t slept with a ton of girls.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/24 01:31 PM
1

Thanks :)
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/24 01:27 PM

He’s 6’2 and handsome

You’re *
/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/24 01:57 PM

Lmao, thanks for confirming
/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/24 01:56 PM
1

Then by all means clarify what you actually meant, prove me wrong
/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/24 01:52 PM
1

You’re still unable to explain why his appearance justifies him being nasty to his gf. If he’s not attracted to her, he should leave.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/24 01:45 PM
2

Because I wanted to know why you asked that question
/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/24 10:07 AM
1

That woman was responding to me about behaviours I’ve noticed in other men and she related it to her daughters bf
/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/24 09:50 AM
1

I don’t know what the guy looks like so how could I, check who you’re replying to 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/24 09:34 AM
1

What’s that got to do with it?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/24 09:11 AM
1

To what extent though? Is it slacking off to gain a few pounds over Christmas and therefore your partner is justified in leaving you/cheating?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/24 09:09 AM
8

On the flip side I’ve seen really gorgeous women get treated poorly by their objectively less attractive bf. Even when they do score the 9/10 they then get insecure about her leaving him and have to bring her down a peg.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/24 11:55 PM
1

Not at all
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/24 04:23 PM
1

Fair enough whatever floats your boat.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/24 03:49 PM

But why are you automatically assuming that in this instance?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/24 03:48 PM

Is it entitled to expect the person who made vows to be your life partner to see them through?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/24 03:37 PM

Unless she has somehow has more testosterone than you aren’t you more masculine than all biological women?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/24 03:29 PM
3

Idk, just curious if your standards refer to actual fitness or just appearance I know some fit women who don’t have the stereotypical “fit body”, take Iona Maher, but when I was at my thinnest with abs, I barely worked out at the time and was very unfit
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/24 02:53 PM
2

What’s this high standard exactly? Sub 20% body fat or something?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/24 02:24 PM
8

What’s with the assumption that all party girls sleep around? I go out a lot but have never had a ONS
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/24 02:22 PM
1

Sure, but not nearly to the extent women do
/r/PurplePillDebate19/10/24 05:14 PM
1

Because women usually aren’t trying to convince male virgins to sleep with them
/r/PurplePillDebate19/10/24 02:17 PM
2

Is it really discipline to not have sex when you haven’t met anyone you’re attracted to and have a connection with? It’s usually just circumstantial
/r/PurplePillDebate19/10/24 02:13 PM
2

A lot of women I know are single in their 30s usually had a long term relationship that didn’t work out, she usually wanted marriage and kids and he kept shying away from the topic and this dragged out for a sizeable chunk of her 20s. Or, they’ve just genuinely had bad luck in dating when what they want is a relationship. I’m in a relationship and the way I met my bf was pure luck, not everyone has that. Most women my age (early 20s) are looking to date for something long term, they’re not fucki…

Better choices such as?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/10/24 11:03 AM

Isn’t masculinity pursuing the things you desire?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/10/24 05:22 PM

Ah well, tell us something we don’t know
/r/PurplePillDebate16/10/24 05:14 PM

Would you walk over someone if they allowed it?

How’s that relevant here?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/10/24 04:49 PM

Been there, can confirm it’s exhausting
/r/PurplePillDebate16/10/24 04:20 PM

Fair play. Long term birth control can cause a lot of issues with hormones and fertility so I was always upfront with my partner that I wasn’t on it and we get by on condoms/cycle tracking

I imagine it still feels better than an STI or unplanned pregnancy

You’re convoluting that with men who want to be their partners only sexual partner in order to guarantee being the best. Which is unrealistic after early twenties and hypocritical if you yourself are not a virgin. It really is a curious topic why men obsess so much about the other dicks a woman has been around. Like many others have pointed out - there is no way for you to know for certain if you’re her best until she tells you you’re not (which would be really gross and mean and you’d be totall…
/r/PurplePillDebate11/10/24 10:08 AM

I think everyone wants to be the best their partner has ever had, why do you feel particularly strongly about it?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/10/24 10:03 AM

Why?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/10/24 09:58 AM

I’d be upset but ultimately it’s his prerogative, what could I actually do to stop him?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/10/24 09:51 AM
27

I think it’s a given courtesy from both parties that you don’t go into detail about your previous sex lives
/r/PurplePillDebate11/10/24 09:51 AM

In my experience people don’t usually lie about just the one thing, so if he couldn’t be honest with me about that I would assume there were other things he hadn’t been honest about and I’d cut my losses and move on.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/10/24 07:46 AM

Which problems exactly?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/10/24 07:17 PM

Rather than asking her to give up part of her income so she can watch Netflix with you, find things outside of your relationship that bring you happiness and fulfilment. A relationship should be a cherry on top of a happy life, not the only thing that makes you happy.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/10/24 10:28 AM

What would you rather she do with the time she spends working? You’re effectively asking her to deplete her financial freedom and quality of life. Idk what she does but a lot of jobs you can’t really choose to work fewer hours if that’s what the job requires. If I started clocking off at 4.30 every day I’d find myself fired before long. From what I’ve seen, don’t ever see marriage as a solution to relationship issues, it will only exacerbate them and now you have an expensive divorce on your han…
/r/PurplePillDebate10/10/24 10:10 AM

I’m in investment management. Every team I’ve worked in I’ve been the only woman and also the youngest, which is why I mentioned it’s a more “masculine” job which I imagine would deter a lot of men here. Fortunately my bf doesn’t mind so it’s all good.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/10/24 10:06 AM
1

I personally wouldn’t date a man who’d had a ton of precious partners and I’d be sceptical of their ability to be monogamous. I’ve only slept with people I’ve been in relationships with, I prefer my partner to have the same approach. However, because I’m not a fucking weirdo, I don’t work myself into a fury over other peoples sex lives.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/10/24 09:30 AM

Even though the male loneliness epidemic refers to men having far fewer friends than they used to 30+ years ago, the issue is still framed as spiteful women not giving them the time of day. But if you mention the possible benefits of increasing their social circle, they go apeshit.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/10/24 09:27 AM

I don’t let these narratives make a dent on me. I know that no matter what I do I’m upsetting someone and I stopped caring long ago. I have a good job that allows me to afford a nice life for myself, this will upset some men here who think women shouldn’t be in my industry and that my job makes me unappealing as it’s a typically masculine job. If I earned less, I’d be a scrounger and a gold digger. I have a boyfriend, this upsets men who would consider him a “chad” and that I didn’t give other m…
/r/PurplePillDebate10/10/24 09:19 AM

White, mostly from upper-middle class backgrounds
/r/PurplePillDebate10/10/24 05:58 AM

Sure except sometimes you start out dating someone who earns the same/less until she gets a new job or promoted and now she earns more. You’d really end a relationship of multiple years over that?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/10/24 05:56 AM

What do you mean by taking care of yourself alongside the relationship?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/24 09:40 PM
2

Then why is the loneliness epidemic primarily talked about in the context of men?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/24 07:26 PM

The traits that make a good, supportive partner
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/24 03:36 PM

Isn’t that how a lot of men rationalise not doing chores to their partner?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/24 02:35 PM
5

I think because even when women are main/sole providers, they’re still expected to uphold their roles as well. Whereas a man can just be a provider and that’s all is expected or needed of him.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/24 01:45 PM

Isn’t it a loss to the men who would have otherwise slept with them?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/24 01:33 PM

Eeek, that’s some mental gymnastics on his part right there. Out of interest what did he do for work? I think a lot of men here aren’t looking past the surface and are just thinking “why WOULDNT I want someone who can pay for gifts and trips and a nicer home?” But don’t think about the dent it can take on their ego if they allow it to.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/24 01:06 PM

I actually agree with you - but if the woman earns more than the man what’s the move if they can’t survive on his salary alone?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/24 12:51 PM

Why do you think lower frequency of sex is? I’d put it down to maybe being more tired and stressed by the new job and responsibilities
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/24 12:33 PM

If there are kids, then it has to be at least one of you no?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/24 12:32 PM

Why did he find it so funny? That’s so strange, good thing he left you alone.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/24 12:31 PM

Interesting take. I think a lot of men would feel betrayed by their partner squirrelling away money.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/24 12:14 PM

Where did I say that? Men need to focus on bringing other values and traits to a relationship outside of a paycheque, since most women don’t require being “provided” for.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/24 11:51 AM

Most men I know in real life and many on this sub have said they wouldn’t want to be a stay at home dad…
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/24 11:50 AM

The narrative is more about what do men bring to a relationship outside of a paycheque
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/24 11:48 AM

I mean in the case of one of my friends I know that they were still having sex at least once a day so I doubt that’s where their issues were but I don’t know what the case is for other couples. What’s the “minimum threshold” exactly?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/24 11:47 AM

I don’t consider being with a man who earns less as “settling”
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/24 11:35 AM
0

Very strange overstep from the families to ask you about your salary or to treat you differently because of it. Well therein lies the issue - because a lot of men equate their worth to their income, they panic that if the woman outearns them, what can they bring to the relationship?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/24 11:31 AM

“The number of female doctors gaining a licence has increased by over a third (34%) since 2018, but the figure for new male doctors has gone up by 48%. Aren’t there multiple studies proving how marriage improves men’s lives and health while it depletes women’s?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/24 11:27 AM
2

Depends. Some of my more successful friends have struggled in dating because they’ll date someone who earns less and they’re very graceful about it. But eventually, the man gets resentful about the hours she’s at work, if she’s taking work calls while with him, that she can buy herself things he can’t. It usually results in him trying to cut her down in other ways or even discouraging her from pursuing her career.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/24 11:25 AM
6

It’s pretty well documented that women are outperforming men academically and more are going to university. It seems like a straightforward conclusion that we will see a rise of couples where the woman is outearning her male partner.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/24 11:23 AM
-2

Why do you think the women’s family has an issue with it?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/24 11:20 AM
6

Slut shaming has been around since the dawn of time. Women who don’t care now aren’t going to start anytime soon.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/24 08:19 AM
3

Where did I imply any of this, are you okay?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/10/24 01:48 PM
1

I mean if I come up to someone’s shoulder, they’re probably 6ft or above as I’m 5’7. You can also tell if someone’s in good shape or not without them stripping off? Im saying that women don’t all throw themselves at “Chads” regardless of their personality or other circumstances - not denying that good looking people have an easier time hooking up/dating.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/10/24 01:47 PM
2

The ones I have in mind were over 6ft, good shape and nice face which I believe is the criteria for a “Chad”. However, for the reasons stated above, I didn’t go for them because the world doesn’t adhere to your narrow perception of it.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/10/24 01:24 PM
4

What makes you say that, were you one of them?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/10/24 01:12 PM
-4

I mean I’ve turned down attractive guys for plenty of reasons - I was/am in a relationship, I don’t do ONS anyway, or I didn’t like them as a person. It’s sad and bizarre you think if a man ticks off certain boxes, any and every woman will throw herself at him
/r/PurplePillDebate07/10/24 11:19 AM

Like women don’t work out?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/10/24 04:59 PM

Who do you think takes longer to get ready for a date?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/10/24 04:40 PM
4

You can be perfectly empathetic without being neurotic
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/24 07:35 PM
15

If you want someone with no self worth and neurotic then yeah sure. If you want a healthy relationship with someone who’s self possessed and stable, this won’t get you far.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/24 02:56 PM

I met and started dating my bf about six weeks after breaking up with my ex and a couple weeks after moving out of our flat. In my case we met randomly and I definitely wasn’t planning on dating but it just happened. As for my ex, we were together nearly 4 years but the relationship was over long before it was over. I think in our final 3 months, we had sex twice. We didn’t end on terrible terms, it had just ran its course so when I met someone new there was no “filling a void” it just so happen…
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/24 09:25 AM

I think there’s nuance to this. I don’t think I’d be attracted to someone who was broke and literally couldn’t pay for anything. Someone earning less than me isn’t necessarily broke or struggling to pay their own way.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/09/24 02:39 PM

Do you think men want a partner who can buy them expensive things, even though they can’t return the favour? I think a lot of men would eventually resent it.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/09/24 02:28 PM

Rather pessimistic take
/r/PurplePillDebate30/09/24 02:26 PM
9

Do you think that’s conducive to a long lasting healthy relationship? “I told him to sort out his laundry twice, he didn’t listen, so now I haven’t seen him in 3 weeks”
/r/PurplePillDebate30/09/24 02:04 PM

Some people have experienced relationship difficulties once the woman is earning more
/r/PurplePillDebate30/09/24 02:02 PM
13

What should someone do if they raise something once and the issue continues? Without it becoming “nagging”?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/09/24 02:00 PM

If a woman in a relationship just got a job where she’d now be significantly out earning her partner - should she tell him and if yes, how?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/09/24 01:55 PM

Womp womp
/r/PurplePillDebate30/09/24 01:38 PM

For sure - you can expect a therapist and people close to you to acknowledge your struggles but the issue lies within expecting half the population to get on board. Some people can’t/won’t acknowledge your struggle for whatever reason and you need to find a way to be okay with that instead of raging about it until it happens, because it won’t.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/09/24 01:36 PM

In this particular situation - yes. It’s also a bit pathetic and unrealistic to demand half the population sympathise with you and your dating struggles.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/09/24 01:24 PM

I think people are misguided into thinking they’ll feel better if someone acknowledges their pain. You can’t force everyone, much less an entire gender, to agree with you and it would have no tangible benefit if they did. Women can acknowledge dating harder for men, doesn’t mean it will make it easier.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/09/24 01:12 PM

Where did I say I’m offended when someone approaches me? I politely turn them down and don’t give them a second thought. I’m yet to meet anyone who gets offended by someone just approaching them.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/09/24 09:48 AM

As a woman, do you often check your partners phone, not allow him to have female friends or to go out without you?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/09/24 07:29 AM

I mainly go to clubs if I know the DJ/artist and I’m there for the music, I also have a bf who goes with me a lot of the time. Am I supposed to just shut myself in my home unless I’m open to fucking any guy I may meet in a club? Weird take.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/09/24 07:22 AM

You’re a grown man unironically using the words “beta simp”. You should start worrying about yourself instead of others.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/24 07:20 PM

I agree but not really for the reasons you’ve listed. My ex and I had separate rooms (our breakup was unrelated to this). He was a bad snorer and we had very different morning/evening schedules. Had we shared a room it would have sparked a lot of arguments with one of us resenting the other for waking them up/keeping them awake. Also, when you’re ill it’s grim having to share a bed with someone, most likely getting them sick too at some point. That said, we still shared a bed most nights but hav…

So it’s fine for women to deprioritise men due to how often they duhamnize women?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/24 03:01 PM

No I just found this train of thought interesting as a lot of men object to being treated with the same suspicion as the worst among them.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/24 02:48 PM

I worked at a bar/club all through university and went out plenty myself. I’ve literally never seen this happen, the only time there’s been a negative reaction is if the guy is groping her or won’t leave her alone and even then the police has never been involved.

We were both pretty drunk, it was one of those things. Not everything is meticulously premeditated.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/24 11:39 AM

Well yeah, starting a conversation with a complete stranger with romantic intent is intense because you have no idea who this person is. He just talked to me normally and after we hit it off we set a date.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/24 11:30 AM

I’ve been the one to start conversation in the past, plus I’m very chatty when I’m drunk so I know I would have. You literally don’t know me.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/24 11:19 AM

Because I didn’t see him
/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/24 11:09 AM

After he approached me (which was literally just coming up to me and starting conversation, which nobody made him to) I was always proactive in reaching out, planning dates, making nice gestures for him. I’m not demanding men start approaching more, but you also can’t complain about being single if you’ve literally never tried.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/24 10:13 AM

And you don’t think that’s unfair to the other men who’d like to have sex with them who wouldn’t film them?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/24 09:37 AM

In an ideal world; everything should be risk free but it isn’t. I’ve personally known multiple women who’ve been filmed during sex without their consent, should they forever stop having sex as a result? I generally don’t go out with the intention to meet guys, so no.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/24 09:30 AM

Okay but realistically how often is a woman “nuking” a mans life just because he approached her? I didn’t see him until he came up to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/24 09:02 AM

It’s kind of sad to see the responses here. I met my bf because he approached me on a night out, got my number, we planned a date in a few days time and now we’re in a long term relationship. It’s weird to think that if he hadn’t taken that jump we wouldn’t be together and how many opportunities like that have been missed because of peoples fear of rejection.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/24 08:25 AM
3

Being in a relationship also doesn’t guarantee happiness, and depending on someone else to make you happy is a surefire way to become an codependent partner who will eventually burn their relationships to the ground
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 08:59 AM
6

Men still have autonomy over who they date
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 08:57 AM
3

Do you understand what “average” means?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 08:40 AM
1

I knew I would want to at some point, just not that first date. I would have slept with him that night had I wanted to. Whereas with most other people it’s been “I can’t see myself ever wanting something physical”
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/24 06:17 PM
1

I didn’t fuck him after the first date so ..?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/24 04:50 PM
1

I knew I found him attractive and I could have slept with him then, but I chose to wait until I knew him better because I can’t imagine sex being enjoyable if it’s with someone I don’t have a connection with, if that makes sense. But ultimately everyone and what makes them click is different.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/24 01:59 PM
2

Eh not really that was more of a tongue in cheek comment. I consider him a very good looking man so to me it’s pretty straightforward. I think I classify as “Demi-sexual” but never really call myself that as it’s a bit of a silly term. I think it’s not often you meet someone you really connect with and when you do, that’s how the attraction comes about.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/24 01:37 PM
6

There’s only so much you can intellectualise attraction and chemistry… I liked his face and wanted to sit on it, idk what to tell you. I’ve had objectively better looking men hit on me but had no chemistry or attraction to them. I can acknowledge when someone’s good looking but I can’t feel attraction for someone without a connection. With him, we had a good connection.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/24 01:01 PM
1

I was attracted enough to want to sleep with him on the first date but we didn’t sleep together until our fourth. I’ve never been a “I wait until X”, I just do it when the time feels right and I feel comfortable enough around them. Never been a one night stand person so it’s pretty consistent with my past.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/24 12:39 PM
4

I liked his smile and his sense of humour. He barely ever smiles in pictures because he doesn’t like his teeth lol (I’ve told him many times he has good teeth and a really nice smile). He also texts like a dad, but in person he’s very outgoing and funny. Both of us have only ever dated people we met IRL because we agree apps suck.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/24 12:20 PM
4

I think online dating exacerbates this - I met my bf in person but I think if I saw his profile on a dating app I wouldn’t have matched with him but when we met in person we were immediately attracted on got on well. So if your only means of dating is online you probably feel like your situation is worse than it actually is.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/24 11:11 AM
4

It’s actually not lmao, it’s a huge indicator you can’t deal with confrontation and have no consideration for others
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/24 07:38 AM
11

Society is already lacking in the housing, education, healthcare and mitigating the environmental damage of having too many people. Those who have children are arguably just adding to that strain.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/24 03:44 PM
9

How do they “use” the labour of young people? Unless they’re employing them and not paying them your comment makes no sense.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/24 03:40 PM
8

Because those who are bums that don’t work are being supported by someone in their lives or the government. Childless people aren’t getting handouts from anyone.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/24 03:21 PM
9

Where did I say all women automatically lose their jobs once they have children? I’m stating that once a woman has children it is much harder for her career to progress: promotions, pay rises, opportunities to move into new departments/sectors etc. On the other hand, men’s careers are only impacted positively after they have children.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/24 03:20 PM
15

It’s referred to in some articles as the motherhood tax, kind of splitting hairs here Agreed, but as of now women can’t have it all and have to choose between their career or children
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/24 12:36 PM
19

Yeah, I’m making the point that women are forced to choose between their careers and having children and that we can’t “have it all”. It’s why I always put myself as “single” in job applications and take my ring off in interviews.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/24 11:52 AM
2

Chores are different to night feeds, changing nappies, being on top of doctor/dentists appointments, being emotionally available and supportive to the children. It’s a good litmus test for sure but like I said, you don’t know until the baby’s there. By “neutral observer” you mean self reported from a third party who refers to himself as a “conservative patriarch” who actually doesn’t know how much either party contribute unless he’s living in their walls 24/7
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/24 11:41 AM
29

Look up the motherhood tax. For women, having children tanks your earning potential and career trajectory.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/24 11:36 AM
3

“Equally” by their account or the wife’s account? You can’t know how involved a man will be as a father until after you have a baby and by then it’s kind of too late. A lot of men want children but are less interested in being a parent. Because it is hard work.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/24 11:34 AM
20

A lot of it is economic - single income households are rare these days meaning that as well as the pregnancy and caregiving burden being on the woman, she now also has to take on the financial burden. I’m lucky that my partner makes good money and we’d be on the same page about me staying home until the children were school age, because I don’t think I’d have children if I had to come back to work 6 weeks after giving birth. Kudos to those who do, I just don’t want children badly enough to subje…
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/24 11:32 AM
3

Why don’t you enlighten us then
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/24 07:56 PM
20

Have you considered making sex appealing enough for her to actually desire it?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/24 07:39 PM
7

Not what financial abuse means but feel free to educate yourself Taking precautions is not fear mongering. In the same way it’s not fear mongering to wear a seat belt, get health insurance or a prenup etc
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/24 01:38 PM
3

You have hands for that
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/24 01:36 PM
21

My question is, if raising children is such a cakewalk that can’t be considered work then why don’t more men do it? It’s piss easy and hardly any effort after all. Women are stepping into the provider role but men haven’t caught up to matching their roles in the household and then they wonder why women don’t want marriage and children as much as they used to.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/24 11:35 AM
14

It’s several tasks that need doing at least once a week so you’re doing at least of them every day, I never said you’re doing all of those things every single day. Men like you are determined to minimise the labour that goes into raising children then wonder why fewer and fewer women want children and now the birth rate is stagnating. If it’s not work then why aren’t men stepping into these roles themselves? As others have pointed out, many mothers work and have stepped into the provider role.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/24 11:30 AM
16

Even by the time they get to school age - you have to leave work early to collect them from school or pay to enroll them in after school clubs/activities. Then it’s making sure their homework gets done, cook them dinner, washing up after dinner, cleaning their PE kit and uniform, making sure the fridge is stocked and going grocery shopping, getting them ready for bed (this is more age dependent), after you yourself have been working your day job since 8am. Then there’s practically being a secret…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/24 11:20 AM
10

Childcare also covers a bit of each of the aforementioned professions, and it costs more than most peoples paycheque. Why do you think that because raising a child is fulfilling that it stops it from being work? Why can’t we just agree it’s both? My boss doesn’t wake me up screaming at 3am until I come to feed him.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/24 11:17 AM
3

Think it depends on the individual, I want children one day and to be a SAHM until they reach school age so I’d prefer to be with someone who earns enough to make that happen. Someone who doesn’t want children probably feels differently.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/24 11:05 AM
20

Not just an unpaid nanny. Unpaid chauffeur, cleaner, chef, nurse, teacher and so on. Except no sick days, benefits, PTO or acknowledgement as exemplified by your post. It’s incredibly fulfilling and important work, but it is still absolutely work nonetheless.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/24 11:04 AM

In the UK, 1 in 5 women have experienced financial abuse and that’s just the reported cases. It’s actually not all that unusual. I haven’t experienced financial abuse myself but a few of my friends mothers have and I’ve seen the huge damage it can do. I could never let myself be in that situation, it’s not paranoia to protect yourself. I’m in a happy relationship and I trust he wouldn’t do that but I’d really struggle being in a dynamic where he gets final vote on every decision because ultimate…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/24 11:01 AM
3

True, but things have changed as more women are now entering higher education and the workforce and it’s time to consider what both people bring to the table. Particularly as the economy these days mean that single income households are hard to come by.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/24 10:56 AM
21

If it’s not “work” then nannies, babysitters and au pairs wouldn’t be paid to do it.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/24 10:54 AM
6

I don’t think it’s fear mongering to acknowledge that financial abuse is far more common than is talked about and it’s sensible to have measures in place to make yourself less vulnerable to it. 99% of DV cases there is financial abuse involved. Unless you have a wealthy family to bail you out it’s incredibly hard to escape for obvious reasons so it’s ideal to not be in that situation in the first place. Financial abuse isn’t limited to poor men, you have very wealthy men who do this too.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/24 09:41 AM
4

Probably better to ask a man that. From what I’ve seen, men feel emasculated or threatened by it. I’ve seen my very successful friends date men who would put them down or even discourage them from pursuing their career.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/24 09:23 AM
5

Out of interest why wouldn’t you be satisfied? Especially if she was at home raising your child.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/24 09:21 AM
8

Of course many men can be providers and have their wife’s best interests at heart but it’s an incredibly vulnerable position to put yourself in, and you can’t really know how he’ll be until you’re in that situation.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/24 09:18 AM
5

Fair enough. I imagine staying at home without children to look after would get boring for both parties very fast.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/24 09:11 AM
5

I don’t think the two are mutually exclusive. In my experience men like to feel useful and like they add something to your life, and of course everyone wants to feel desired by the person they’re with.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/24 09:03 AM
3

If you two choose to have children - would you expect her to stay at home with them and be okay being the only one bringing in income?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/24 09:01 AM

I only like to split the bill with friends, I’d feel weird doing it with my bf. My ex was a tightwad to the point he split the bill taking me out for my birthday, and asked me to pay him back when he bought me a yoghurt from the shop. Our first date started as drinks that ended up in us going to dinner. He insisted on paying for dinner but I still bought a couple rounds of drinks and then on our second date I picked up the bill. Now we just take turns, as he earns more and lives at home if we’re…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/24 08:23 AM

Then why for non virgin women?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/24 11:25 PM

Why should a man drop any woman who doesn’t sleep with him the first they meet?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/24 07:19 PM

Why?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/24 11:11 AM
1

Right, so those basic things aren’t “wife duties” they’re just basic adult tasks both partners should partake in. Especially if both of them are working, which is the vast majority of couples.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/09/24 03:46 PM
1

Isn’t the man also lazy and incompetent if he’s not cooking and cleaning?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/09/24 03:35 PM
1

“Needs to fuck on sight” why?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/09/24 03:27 PM
3

If she gets a job then someone has to look after the kid(s)… any idea how expensive childcare is? Who’s paying for that? Besides, you sound the kind of guy who would disparage a working mother for not spending more time with her own children.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/09/24 01:14 PM

In my country abortion is available up to 24 weeks. That is not the case in many states in the US so idk what you’re on about. Do you have proof of the pill dosage being 10x higher in America? Sounds interesting.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 03:41 PM

Feel free to suggest somewhere better for this. In the US I may have my reproductive rights taken off me soon lol. Also… American men :/
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 02:16 PM

In the UK it kind of is. I live in London and almost every man who’s catcalled me and harassed me hasn’t been ethnically British. I know I’ll get downvoted to hell for this but you can’t argue with my lived experience which many other women I know share. These men come from cultures where women are treated as second class so I don’t know why we’re all in denial when they treat women here the same way.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 12:52 PM
2

Dude, a complication free birth still takes 6-8 weeks to recover from. For a c section it’s even longer and that’s still assuming there are no complications, that’s before we even mention post natal depression…
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 10:43 AM

I’m not in the US so I can’t carry a gun, I can’t even legally carry pepper spray. Besides, any weapon I do carry can easily be used against me.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 10:41 AM

In the article they’re both described as Asian
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 10:39 AM

Sadly yes you’re welcome to look it up
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 10:39 AM

There’s a case in Birmingham where a teenage girl was being raped at a train station, another man came along and she pleaded for help, the second man then raped her as well

If your belief is that women don’t bring positive qualities and that when relationships end it’s all because of her - why do you date women?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/24 07:11 PM
8

How is the woman having it easier if she’s being made to prove herself to a neurotic guy all the time? Can you conceptualise how exhausting that would be? It is easier for a woman to find a relationship. A quality relationship is a different ballpark though. I’ve dated both men and women and found women are generally stronger communicators, more upfront about their intentions, and more altruistic.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/24 01:28 PM
8

I agree it’s more about what they get from dating women than the actual woman. He gets social proof, status, alleviated loneliness, a lot of how men behave with women is about getting approval from other men.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/24 12:55 PM
3

Those are called homosexuals
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/24 12:52 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/24 12:52 PM

How does that answer the question?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/24 12:14 PM

I’ve never heard of someone racist being willing to date/sleep with a POC… they’re awful ofc but at least their logic is consistent
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/24 12:14 PM
4

What would be the point in showing love to someone who doesn’t appreciate it or believe in it? I’ll just find someone less neurotic and annoying
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/24 10:12 AM
4

That’s objectively not true and if it was, men should be less desperate and not date women they don’t like
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/24 08:19 AM
2

The resentment comes from committing to someone you don’t actually like because you couldn’t cope with being single. Where did I imply men owe women anything? If anything I’m saying to leave women alone if you don’t actually like them.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/24 05:15 PM
1

I’m in a relationship and have better things to do than to catfish women
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/24 05:14 PM

Could just hold out until you actually meet someone you like, instead of if subjecting a woman to a marriage with someone only with her to ameliorate his loneliness and doesn’t actually like her
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/24 03:44 PM
11

And a resentful marriage that ends in divorce is better than none at all?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/24 03:30 PM
13

How silly of people to seek out a partner they find interesting and funny
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/24 02:40 PM

Do they devalue men, or are we just no longer forced to marry out for financial security and social acceptance?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/24 07:07 PM

Isn’t that a good thing in your eyes?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/24 05:11 PM

Until recently we literally weren’t allowed to “pull our own weight” when we couldn’t own credit cards, property or get paid the same for the same work, get a grip.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/24 04:58 PM

Fertility isn’t relevant in the context of the rise of people who don’t want or can’t afford children
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/24 04:57 PM

Why not tell men to stop sleeping with women below their league? Takes two to tango.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/24 04:55 PM

What would that look like exactly?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/24 04:52 PM
1

What’s BMI got to do with it
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/24 07:43 AM

And it’s also money spent on men so what a silly argument
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/24 07:20 AM

You can be good with women and not cheat
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/24 05:11 PM

Isn’t that a little misandrist to men?

/r/PurplePillDebate22/08/24 09:29 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/24 07:10 PM

My body is my own regardless of who I’m sleeping with or the relationship I have with them. Everyone is absolutely entitled to not allow something they don’t want, be it a stranger or your partner.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/24 04:23 PM
1

Expressing that she doesn’t want your dick in her arse is being masculine?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/24 04:10 PM
6

Why would anyone entertain those kind of mind games? Anyone with basic self respect would hear “we’re not a great pairing”, accept it and move on.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/24 01:01 PM
4

I mean, can’t really fight genetics and not everyone can afford surgery
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/24 12:46 PM

The issue is more that as a woman, if you achieve too much you’re hindering your romantic prospects or you risk causing issues within your relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/24 12:44 PM
18

Except he rejected her
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/24 12:22 PM

It’s interesting that the male equivalencies made to sex always involve some kind of expensive gift
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 02:07 PM

Easy answer to this - if you asked her if she’s done anal before and she says yes she’s tried it and didn’t enjoy it. That’s the case for a lot of women.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 02:06 PM

Except we’re talking about an instance where a woman tries something kinky or like anal with an ex, doesn’t enjoy and doesn’t want to repeat it. It has nothing to do with desire. If you knows she doesn’t enjoy it, frankly it’s concerning you’d even want to. Oral isn’t kinky and it’s kind of a given even in vanilla sex, so it would be an issue for most people if someone wasn’t willing to do it.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 02:04 PM

Regardless of what he did or didn’t do with previous partners, I wouldn’t be sexually compatible with that person so what does it matter either way? I’m not going to debate someone into going down on me.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 01:46 PM
18

I think you need to find a job because wtf is this creative writing project
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 01:22 PM

He’s technically both, I’m just picking from the options OP gave for the reasons stated above
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 09:26 AM

What incentive do I have to lie? I don’t enjoy boring men. Luckily my bf is good looking and outgoing but between the 2 options that’s what I would go for.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 09:22 AM

Option 2, assuming he’s outgoing in a fun way not an obnoxious, love-the-sound-of-his-own voice way. Looks fade over time regardless, I’d always choose someone I have fun with.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 08:56 AM

What’s the line?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 08:09 AM

Hey, sex toys aren’t people. Hope this helps!
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 05:56 AM

I’m sick of hearing “if you do XYZ it won’t hurt!” Ok fine, that doesn’t change the fact ✨I don’t want to✨
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 10:50 PM

So you don’t enjoy knowing the deep truths of your partner 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 10:28 PM

Why? So you can demand she do the same for you?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 10:09 PM

Not really. We have great sex and enjoy exploring those sides of eachother, I don’t need to know what he did with who before me. If he likes something or wants to try something, he’ll tell me and vice versa.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 10:06 PM

Why? And can you answer the other points raised? I don’t talk to my bf about my sex life and what I did or didn’t do with exes, why tf would I.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 10:02 PM
34

THIS. I could never have sex with someone who wasn’t enthusiastically partaking. If I can tell they’re not really in the mood it snaps me out of the mood.

/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 07:00 PM

Not really what I was on about but okay
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 06:57 PM

From what I’ve talked with my friends, it varies from fairly inoffensive and you treat it like taking a shot, to absolutely fucking putrid. Diet, smoking etc plays a role.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 05:05 PM

Why do men enjoy degrading their partners?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 05:04 PM

How would he know she’s done it with others? And what about instances where she tried it, didn’t enjoy it, doesn’t want to do it again. Is she now obliged to do it with every other partner to make things “fair”?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 05:01 PM

I’ve only heard of my friends doing it when the cum tastes like actual battery acid, at which point you can’t really blame her

Fortunately, every partner I’ve been with hasn’t got a kick out of me being in pain - so yeah it is a weird concept to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 04:24 PM

Women are kinkier than men on the whole, although men have more of a fixation with anal
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 04:23 PM

Why is the pain an ego boost?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 04:17 PM

I think there are other ways to make a man feel loved and trusted that don’t involve putting something up your arse
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 04:17 PM

I think these days it is the norm but I’ve never known a guy to be fussy about it, once you cum you’re done either way
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 04:11 PM

Such as?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 04:01 PM

The answer is porn. In conjunction with this it’s not so much about anal sex itself rather than the novelty and taboo around it.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 03:59 PM
3

Likewise if you’re someone who pays for sex
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 03:25 PM
1

I mean, I’ve never slept with someone I haven’t dated and been exclusive with first and I know many other women who are the same. Dinner for a first date is a bit intense especially if you don’t click and now you’re tied in at least an hour, but I don’t feel that strongly about how other people choose to date.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 01:25 PM
1

How do you know who she’s banged or what her relationships were with them?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 01:19 PM
3

In this case, it’s the dopamine and oxytocin that gets released during/after sex. I assume I don’t have to explain what those feel like but it’s how we attach to the people we have sleep with, we are literally wired to do this, it’s not an intellectual weakness.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 11:21 AM
10

I don’t think detaching sex from emotions is a sign of intelligence. In my experience people who’ve slept around a lot are the most neurotic and insecure, for those reasons alone they’re not ideal partners.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 10:43 AM
3

How on earth would you even get hold of them
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 10:38 AM
-3

What’s inherently degrading about expressing interest in a woman? Is it still degrading if she responds well and gives you her number etc?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 08:37 AM
0

Why not for women then?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 08:32 AM
1

Agreed. I’ve been cold approached a few times on the street or at stations/bus stops. Usually it’s done pretty politely and they take it well when I turn them down (I have a bf) it’s only ever bothered me when they’re rude or disrespectful, and it has nothing to do with looks.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 08:20 AM
-4

You think initiating is putting yourself below someone?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/24 08:18 AM
11

Guess I’ve only met 10% of men then lol, pretty much every guy my age I know has had a relationship and/or sex
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/24 06:00 PM

You mean negging?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/24 04:50 PM
8

Every man I know in his 30s is either in a relationship or has been in one in the past. Where are you seeing this is the norm?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/24 02:56 PM
13

In the same way that my reasoning has nothing to do with seeing men as meat, yes I disagree with that statement.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/24 02:50 PM
7

Good thing I never said that then. I think it’s fine to be curious about eachothers past, being judgemental and interrogating is another thing though. If he wasn’t comfortable talking about it, I’d leave it alone.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/24 02:49 PM
7

Ideally before having sex so I could manage my expectations. I’ve never slept with someone without seeing their STI results first so I guess that’s how the conversation would come up.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/24 02:35 PM
10

I’m allowed to have questions aren’t I? It’s his prerogative how much he wants to share
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/24 02:27 PM
16

Again, I’d have some questions bc a man in his mid 30s with zero experience is an anomaly but if I liked the guy it wouldn’t put me off. I’d certainly prefer it to a man who’d slept with a ton of women.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/24 01:55 PM
32

Im in my 20s so I wouldn’t date a guy in that age range to begin with. I’d be fine dating a guy my own age (24) who was inexperienced. I’d have some curiosity about the why he hadn’t had sex but that’s it.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/24 01:51 PM
17

Ehh no. I don’t enjoy the flack single mothers get but not wanting to date someone with a kid is perfectly valid. I also would never date a single dad I just don’t feel the need to bitch about them either. I have no interest in looking after someone else’s kid. I’d rather enjoy my freedom and youth until it’s time to have my own kids.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/24 01:47 PM
1

Depends on the type of woman. I’ve only ever been drawn to very straightforward men who are upfront about their emotions. I can get my thrills elsewhere.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/24 12:05 PM

How so?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/24 11:53 AM

Only dolphins and bonobos have sex for pleasure, not solely reproductive. Most sex between humans is for pleasure. So yeah, try and make sure the person you’re sleeping with is having a good time, not sure why people get so up in arms over this.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/24 08:45 PM

Matt Rife did exactly that …
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/24 03:54 PM

Take some deep breaths babe
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/24 03:29 PM

I’ve known women who’ve had their labia insulted by a guy they slept with and had those guys talk about it with others. It’s not a made up scenario. Why do you think labiaplasties exist? There’s even horrifying cases of young women trying to perform them on themselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/24 02:06 PM

Most animals don’t fuck for fun they do it for reproductive purposes. If you’re justifying being bad in bed by comparing your performance to a rabbit, good luck with that 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/24 02:04 PM

Weird, every guy I’ve been with has loved the baggy T-shirt and PJ shorts I sleep in. In the winter unless you’re paying my heating bill I will not stop wearing joggers and a hoodie to bed 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/24 11:17 AM

Same question I asked him! It was a different type of machine ig. My family suspect weaponised incompetence as do I.

This was after I showed him how to use it
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/24 07:53 AM

It’s funny in this case as he lived by himself for a year before we moved in together so I had higher hopes. Ah well you live and you learn.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/24 06:32 AM
0

I can kind of see this although I don’t agree with being in a marriage where people keep score and are petty like this. They sound very unhappy especially if she’s blasting it all over social media. But when I lived with my ex I would do both of our laundry together as I just figured if I was doing mine I may as well do his. Several months into living together he didn’t know how the washing machine worked, and whenever I went away for a weekend he would only do his own laundry, when I then start…
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/24 05:32 AM
7

TIL being a morning shower person makes you low value
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/24 05:23 AM
1

That’s why I said “some” and not “all”
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/24 04:43 AM
4

How does that work when men commit far more crimes?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/24 03:37 AM
4

I’m not American… I can carry a conversation, I’m talking about dates where a guy doesn’t bother asking a single question about the person or show any interest in their lives or interests.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/24 05:53 PM
3

For sure, but if someone’s exclusively talking about their job (a common theme from what I’ve seen) and not creating any space or opportunity for you to contribute to the conversation that becomes a little off putting. Or if they’re only talking about things you have little knowledge/interest in and not trying to find common ground.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/24 05:26 PM
4

How are you supposed to highlight your strengths if the other person is constantly talking about themselves?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/24 04:26 PM
4

If I was catfished on a date or really not attracted to the person I’d politely cut it short, not talk about myself for several hours.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/24 04:14 PM
2

Plenty of men don’t though, I’m asking about the ones that do.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/24 04:03 PM
4

Fair enough. I just feel weird talking about myself or giving anecdotes unprompted, I need to feel like the other person actually gives a shit and wants to know
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/24 04:02 PM
3

Some of the guys in mind were actually pretty attractive, but looks don’t make up for someone being a bad conversationalist or too self absorbed to ask any questions on a date
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/24 04:00 PM
4

Well, my bf asked me plenty of questions on our first dates beyond “and you” while also telling me about himself. We continue to take that active interest in eachothers life and wellbeing, it’s fairly easy to identify if someone wants to get to know you regardless of how attractive they are.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/24 03:36 PM
6

My guess would be that the guys are attractive enough to secure a first date, but lack the conversation skills to land a second, third etc
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/24 02:13 PM
0

How’s that relevant to the question?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/24 02:00 PM
4

I suppose as well with friends you’re not looking for signs of if they’re interested in getting to know you since they’re already established in your life, whereas with dating you’re often getting to know a completely new person and looking to see if there’s a connection/compatibility.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/24 01:59 PM
18

That’s what my bf said - the way he and his friends communicate is mainly by telling anecdotes back and forth and volunteering information. I think women typically don’t talk about stuff unless they’re explicitly asked about it which is why that communication style doesn’t carry over well into dating unless you’re dating a woman who’s super chatty and doesn’t mind that style.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/24 01:54 PM
3

Some care enough to follow up and express interest and desire to continue dating - this is where the confusion comes in
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/24 01:48 PM
4

The best dates I’ve had with guys who were engaged and asked questions were typically more attractive than the guys who didn’t ask question. The other woman who replied to this explains it well.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/24 01:30 PM
1

I under the desire to want to make a good impression - I’m just not sure how that translates to exclusively talking about yourself for an entire date
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/24 01:27 PM
2

Did it not occur to you to ask anything about her after you told her about your time at school and college? Not asking questions is usually an indicator you’re not interested, which is likely the impression you gave her if you showed no effort to learn anything about her
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/24 01:26 PM

Do you think a lot of men want the most attractive women they can get?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/24 10:10 AM
3

So do women
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 06:41 PM
7

Whenever women claim to be lonely, men here say “no you’re not because you can hook up with a man anytime you want” which shows that their scope of loneliness is ease of having sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 03:38 PM
11

There’s a difference between being lonely and merely feeling lonely. If you have friends and a partner and still feel lonely, you’re either around people who aren’t good for you or there’s something deeper going on.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 01:14 PM
5

Would you be happier without your group of friends?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 01:12 PM
2

I’m aware
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/24 10:50 AM
6

Expecting a girl to be head over heels with you immediately and ghosting if she’s not is a little extreme. Healthy relationships start out with mutual interest that builds into being “head over heels” with time. By all means, don’t pursue a girl that isn’t showing effort/interest but you’re eliminating a lot of options with this approach.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 01:31 PM
4

Be groomed, have good fashion sense and haircut and be in good shape. Good skin and teeth go a long way. I won’t lie and pretend height doesn’t help, it does, but if you’re short you can still control what kind of shape you’re in.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 10:48 AM
11

Nah don’t, they get VERY upset when you mention that if they put in a fraction of the effort women put into their appearance they’d be more attractive. For some reason they also like to wildly undermine how much effort it takes to look “naturally attractive”.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 10:31 AM
11

Why does the fact that attractive people have an easier time dating keep being bought up as some revolutionary statement? In other news, sun is hot
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 09:58 AM
5

Of course it’s unreasonable, but in the time spent complaining you could just interview elsewhere
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 08:24 AM
4

No, because he’s welcome to interview elsewhere
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 08:13 AM
4

He has that right because of freedom of thought. He can think whatever he wants.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 07:53 AM
4

Of course he has that right. But I don’t have empathy for either of them. Now answer my question please.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 07:50 AM
3

You obviously can’t answer my question either The person should interview elsewhere if the interviewer is being that unreasonable. Not all interviewers demand that.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 07:48 AM
6

Dude, you don’t get to make a post about “wimmen bad” and demand empathy in the same breath. I don’t have empathy for either of these people if they share your view.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 07:45 AM

Low effort post warrants a low effort response. What are you hoping to get out of this?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 07:43 AM

I’ve had quite a few job interviews where the recruiter/interviewer has reached out to me, so already this metaphor is moot.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 07:42 AM
6

The interviewer isn’t getting paid for the interview, and women don’t actually receive money on dates unless they’re a sugar baby
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 07:41 AM
20

THIS ^ the behaviour they describe is from bougee materialistic women who are gorgeous but ofc they’re going to be high maintenance. They claim that they’re happy with someone average and homely but that’s obviously not who they’re going after if they keep having this experience. They keep demanding that we acknowledge dating is tougher for men and when we do it’s just… now what?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 07:36 AM
1

How do you think it differs for women?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/24 03:23 PM
2

Me too! 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/24 02:15 PM
2

Yes, I feel very fortunate for my bf :)
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/24 01:56 PM
4

Ok, I hope things get better for you
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/24 12:45 PM

I’m convinced most people in this sub have never actually been in love and loved
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/24 12:24 PM
1

No
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/24 11:23 AM
3

Ok so a UFC champion isn’t really representative of the average women’s strength
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/24 10:58 AM
2

Aren’t a lot of men already upset about women leaving them alone?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/24 09:46 PM
7

Nope, what will happen is their neuroses and behaviour will ruin whatever relationship they have and probably traumatise the woman involved
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/24 05:37 PM
2

Being open with each other and showing you care about one another isn’t synonymous with trauma dumping
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/24 01:06 PM
2

I think the question is more what do you want women to do about that?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/24 11:33 AM
7

Spending time with friends usually doesn’t feel like “dealing with people”
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/24 11:03 AM
2

For your second sentence - I’m curious why that is
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/24 11:02 AM
7

Is it stingy to not want to subsidise another person? Most men here are vehemently against doing that for a woman. Is there proof of this? Again this just sounds like an extension of your rant, not a legitimate point.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 08:21 PM
4

But the manosphere doesn’t actually advocate for means to help mens issues, it complains about women not doing it for them and blames them
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 02:47 PM

This is a good faith question fyi: how exactly does society prevent men from having social networks? I know plenty of guys who have friend groups through sport teams, work, hobbies, school, university etc. I notice a lot of guys aren’t great at maintaining friendships (like keeping uni friends after graduation) but I’m not sure what society can do about that.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 02:38 PM

Then maybe that’s something men should work together to improve upon
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 11:46 AM

You can absolutely have closeness and vulnerability with friends as well as your partner. I’m genuinely sorry if you haven’t experienced that. Some subjects I’m more comfortable talking about with my friends than my bf and vice versa, the point is I’m not dependent on just one person to open up to. My friends have been incredibly loving and supportive through difficult times and I’m always more than happy to reciprocate.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 11:09 AM

Where did I say that?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 10:56 AM
21

People say that about men who claim only the top 10% of men can have sex or relationships, which is obviously untrue. Nobody in their right mind is denying that attractive men have an easier time getting laid.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 09:58 AM
1

Financial inequality is on par with unattractive guys not getting laid as easily as hot guys?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 09:58 AM

So if a woman sleeps with you on the first date, don’t get pissy about if she’s done that with other men
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 09:57 AM
2

Agreed to be his gf
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 09:39 AM
1

My cousins literally asked their parents to get divorced and they were young teens at the time. There was no abuse/cheating as far as I’m aware but they were miserable and it wasn’t until that conversation they had any idea how badly it impacted their children.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 08:57 AM

Nobody has bought up this angle yet so I’ll try: as someone who’s been the partner of someone who didn’t have a support network it puts an immense amount of pressure on you. I was the only one he really opened up to and when things weren’t working I felt incredibly guilty about wanting to leave. I also think our relationship would have been much healthier if he’d had more friends and people besides me he could be vulnerable with. It’s not fair on partners to treat them as the antidote to your lo…
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 08:51 AM
2

I agree being fat isn’t healthy and people shouldn’t attempt to normalise it or glamorise it but I also don’t understand vitriol towards fat women. It’s fine to not be attracted to them but why make a whole song and a dance about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/24 02:14 PM

Why can’t both be true? Fat women get bullied relentlessly online and often at school if they were far as kids. Most of the jokes about fat people are directed at fat women. Fat women I know irl have had men and kids come up to them and say nasty shit or shout at them across the street.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/24 02:03 PM

How is that anything to do with what I said? I just said that I wouldn’t care if a fat guy wasn’t interested in me, but for some reason the inverse is the greatest insult to men. In this sub, men crap on fat women constantly, that’s what I’m referring to.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/24 01:54 PM

I think they get even more upset when the women they aren’t attracted to also aren’t attracted to them. If a fat guy didn’t want me and had his sights set on a VS Model, good for him, literally wouldn’t spare it a second thought
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/24 01:22 PM
9

A date with who, though?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/24 01:05 PM
13

My favourite move from them is when they show examples of no/natural makeup and show women wearing foundation, fake lashes, filled in eyebrows etc 😂 they look great but that look took 40 minutes be so for real
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/24 12:55 PM

They seem bizarrely offended by fat women merely existing. I’m not into fat guys but I’m not upset or angry about them.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/24 12:23 PM

Arm/leg hair has no bearing on hygiene. Pubic hair actually exists to prevent the transmission of bacteria and other pathogens, arguably it’s more hygienic to keep it.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/24 12:20 PM
17

Is this the inverse of “just take a shower and get a haircut bro”
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/24 12:14 PM
1

As I have my own inheritance and assets I’d like to protect, yes.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/24 06:54 AM
1

The guy friends who I know go out genuinely love a boogie and a drink, it’s not that deep. Some have the motive to get with a girl of course but many have girlfriends so no.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/24 09:05 PM
1

Don’t men here often lament that only the most attractive men can have ONS? If the only reason you go out is in the hopes of getting laid, it’s your own fault if you have a crap night.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/24 08:21 PM
1

I don’t go out to analyse other people. If they’re not having a good time, they can go home.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/24 08:08 PM
1

I like music and dancing with my friends, that’s why I go. These days I usually go to gigs or raves where I actually know the artist. You don’t find it fun or fulfilling and that’s fine but you can’t claim every single person who goes out is secretly hating it. I also hang out with my friends without any alcohol involved, it’s not one or the other.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/24 07:42 PM
2

Fair. Any time a girl mentioned going out/clubbing and she has a bf, all the men in the comments seem so outraged and automatically assume she’s cheating
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/24 07:22 PM
1

Yeah exactly, it seems like a slippery slope to let your partner dictate where you can or can’t go
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/24 07:20 PM
1

Literally all of them do
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/24 07:19 PM
7

What do you propose should be done about that?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/24 07:16 PM
8

You… don’t see how treating a woman as a sexual object is being a jerk?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/24 07:09 PM
2

Then why are they always single?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/24 07:06 PM
1

Do people genuinely think going out/going clubbing is only for single people - particularly women? My partners have never had an issue with me going out with my friends and likewise me with them. A lot of the time we would just go together and it would be fun. I only see this attitude that women with partners shouldn’t go out online but idk anyone in real life who feels the same way.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/24 07:05 PM
2

She crossed the road, he should react by minding his business and not throwing a bitch fit
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/24 02:17 PM

Lmaoo, doesn’t take much does it
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/24 01:21 PM

Because she doesn’t want him hitting on her friends?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/24 01:13 PM

You may not meet your person, not everyone does I’m afraid.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/24 01:13 PM

Keep trying your luck on apps then
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/24 12:06 PM
-2

I’m not referring to violence, you’re the one who bought that up. Some guys just don’t take the hint no matter how many times you rebuff their advances and tell them you’re not interested.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/24 11:20 AM
2

Yeah you’ve clearly not dealt with someone who won’t take no for an answer ahaha
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/24 08:23 AM
2

How exactly are you meant to prevent someone doing this if you’ve already made it clear you’re not interested?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/24 07:52 AM

Have you tried being likeable and pleasant to be around?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/24 11:25 AM

Why wouldn’t it be over when a man strays?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/24 07:11 PM
2

Please clarify what “empathy” entails then
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/24 05:12 PM
1

Just so I haven’t misred you, you’d ask your partner to change or stop medication that was helping them if it was impacting their sex drive?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/24 03:17 PM

What kind of timeline?

What do you classify as “sexual neglect” exactly?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/24 02:48 PM
3

All I did was point out his manipulation as shown in the OP, like I said idk why she isn’t having sex with him.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/24 02:45 PM
3

I don’t, but there are many other reasons she isn’t having sex so why jump straight to that assumption?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/24 02:35 PM
2

Which would only be made worse by ignoring them, surely?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/24 01:42 PM
2

It’s kinder to both of you to just get divorced if that’s the guaranteed outcome anyway rather than stonewalling her (which is a manipulation/control tactic)
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/24 01:40 PM
1

You’re not on your wife’s payroll I believe
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/24 01:37 PM
1

Sounds like a solid way to maintain a healthy and loving relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/24 01:36 PM
1

If you’re in a relationship and you run into issues, you should work together to figure it out rather than just throwing a silent protest until you get your way. Dead bedrooms are often an indicator of deeper issues in the relationship and if those issues don’t get resolved, the intimacy won’t either.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/24 01:36 PM
1

Because like you said, ignoring will eventually lead to divorce so what are you achieving exactly?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/24 01:34 PM
6

You’re being obtuse. Ignoring your wife bc she doesn’t put out isn’t comparable to getting a divorce because you clearly don’t like her anymore.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/24 01:31 PM
0

Because he’s deliberately withdrawing his attention to punish his wife for lack of sex

Do you have a touch of the tism out of interest
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/24 12:35 PM

All my personal relationships are pretty great, don’t worry about it :) If a particular person is the direct cause of me being unhappy in some way, I’ll sort it out with that individual, I wouldn’t expect other people to intervene.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/24 12:31 PM
2

My problems are my own, I don’t expect anyone to do anything about them. Least of all, strangers on Reddit 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/24 12:25 PM
2

Okay, I empathise that men have how sexual desires. What do you expect me to actually do about it?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/24 12:05 PM
4

What does “empathy” entail exactly? Okay, I empathise that your sexual appetite is higher than mine. Now what?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/24 12:04 PM
13

When a lot of men here mean by empathy for their sexual needs, what they usually mean is women being willing to have sex with him whenever they wish (however if she’s had too much sex in the past that’s bad)
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/24 12:03 PM
3

Yep, no bigger turn on than a man mewling about his “need” for sex
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/24 11:45 AM
6

It really depends on the couples, some issues can be solved, sometimes the relationship is already over but they’re sticking their head in the sand. In my past relationships, I lost interest in sex because I didn’t feel loved and for me sex has only been something I’ve done with people I have a connection to and love. One of my exes gained a lot of weight and blamed me for it (I didn’t gain any) constantly whinged but never did anything about it. That killed the attraction quick. Lack of sex is …
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/24 11:22 AM
10

Some other chump said that men without sex are more likely to kill themselves, so that’s their angle now. “Fuck me or I’ll off myself” 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/24 11:18 AM
4

I think sex is a barometer for other issues within the relationship. Men here focus so much on the lack of sex itself and not WHY that is the case.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/24 11:16 AM

https://www.simplypsychology.org/wp-content/uploads/maslow-needs3-1024x1024.jpg It’s literally the first rung of Maslows hierarchy of needs - physiological needs alongside food, water and breathing.

The dead bedroom sub has MANY women posting about their male partners, I’d say it’s a relatively even split although I haven’t spent much time on it.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/24 11:11 AM

Nothing disgusting about physical desire - what’s disgusting is using it to justify your entitlement to another persons body.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/24 11:10 AM
1

Why is that a disaster? I met my bf in a club.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/24 08:21 AM

What are your high standards?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/24 08:13 AM

I met him in the smoking area of a club. I was super drunk, wondered up to him and asked him if he would roll me a cigarette and if he was single. I knew I found him attractive but didn’t know if I wanted to pursue anything immediately but we did kiss the first time we met. He struck me as really kind and funny, he insisted on walking me to my bus stop when the club closed and texted me to check I got home okay (all my friends went home with someone) We swapped numbers and went on our first date…
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/24 07:32 AM

Again - where’s your source for this? BF% is subjective to everyone, a while ago after a bulk my BMI was around 24 but my BF% was 22% and I had visible abs. I prefer how I look smaller but I was perfectly healthy then and I could deadlift 115kg. And let’s be real the main issue is the obesity epidemic which is far more pressing than splitting hairs over whether or not a healthy woman could be considered overweight. A woman with a bmi of 24/25 isn’t going to be dealing with weight related health …
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/24 01:50 PM

Do you have a source for this? BMI accounts for gender and height. Also, men tend to store fat around their organs (visceral depot) which has more health implications than how women store fat in the gluteal femoral region. We’re supposed to have more body fat regardless because, yk, tits and ass.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/24 01:09 PM

Healthy BMI goes up to 24.9
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/24 06:51 AM

Doesn’t stop them loudly bleating their opinion on it 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/24 06:25 AM

I don’t need situational awareness in the gym, I’m focused on my workout. You should try it, you may find better results that way.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/24 06:24 AM
13

I work at a large investment bank. Every woman in my office wears makeup and smart clothes. Check out the article by the economic times, it’s more to do with weight but shows that a woman’s appearance has a much more direct impact on a woman’s job prospects than a man’s. The men have far more leeway in how presentable they have to be, plenty of them wear trainers and even trackies to my work sometimes. I take my makeup off at the end of each day when I shower regardless of if i work out or not. …
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/24 11:35 AM
14

It’s expected to wear makeup, if you show up to your corporate job without makeup you come across sloppy/lazy, it is what it is. There are plenty of studies showing how women’s appearance impacts how they’re judged in jobs that have nothing to do with their looks. Besides, what exactly is the issue with going to the gym with makeup you wore all day?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/24 11:10 AM
5

Depends - I get way more sweaty and uncomfortable doing cardio in tracksuit bottoms than leggings, plus leggings offer more mobility if you’re training legs. It’s a weird one because when I’m in the gym I don’t think I ever clock what other people are wearing because I’m focused on myself (I’m bisexual btw)
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/24 10:51 AM
10

Most women have to wear makeup for work… if she’s working out in the evening that doesn’t make any sense. Also, there really aren’t many short options for women that are knee length.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/24 09:59 AM
1

Yep
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/24 01:33 PM
3

But you’ll also complain that men can’t get laid
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/24 01:20 PM
0

I think that says more about the people you interact with or how you are with people. Most people I come across are great.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/24 01:15 PM
3

He can’t even call us women, only “females” which is even more telling
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/24 01:03 PM
7

You really think you did something comparing abortion to beating up a pregnant woman 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/24 12:49 PM
3

Given that broke men get laid all the time, not that crazy of a statement
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/24 12:39 PM
2

I’m not trying to absolve women of responsibility, I’m making the point that men share the same responsibility which you seem determined to deny.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/24 10:21 AM
1

And who decided to be inside her in the first place, and most likely pursued it and instigated it as well 😂 I’m not single but nice try
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/24 10:18 AM
2

Men don’t usually stealth with the intention of getting a woman pregnant, but good to know you’re stumped.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/24 10:17 AM
1

Also, why isn’t the man responsible for having his unprotected dick ejaculated inside her? Sounds pretty immature.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/24 10:15 AM
1

Stealthing happens and condoms can break. No birth control is completely foolproof. The morning after pill only delays ovulation, if you’ve already ovulated, already pregnant or you’re over 175lbs, it won’t do anything.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/24 10:12 AM
2

Depends where you live, not all women get a choice in whether or not they stay pregnant.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/24 10:08 AM
2

It’s not incorrect though
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/24 10:06 AM

From an evolutionary standpoint - isn’t a guy that sleeps around a bad bet for women? If he’s getting everyone pregnant that means fewer resources for myself and the child.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/24 09:12 AM

You can be a manwhore if you’re desperate enough and willing to cast a very wide net. Regardless of how or why you’ve managed to sleep with that many women, it’s not an achievement. Your statement is derogatory to men, you’re saying they aren’t capable of self control or loyalty unless literally nobody wants them.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/24 08:41 AM

Sure but you’re blending the lines between promiscuity and cheating. I’d understand the aversion to a woman with a history of cheating for that reason, but if she slept with a bunch of guys 5 years ago and now she’s pregnant with your kid in a committed, monogamous relationship/marriage, you can assume the kids most likely yours.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/24 08:32 AM

Then the same be said for men who sleep around a lot. I wouldn’t want a guy who’ll put his dick in anything that’s willing.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/24 08:20 AM
1

I mean, plenty of relationships come from meeting someone off an app or in a club/bar. I’ve seen it play out a more often than not if a woman thinks a relationship on the horizon it’s because the man has told her that. I’ve known “situationships” where men will tell her I love you to keep her on the hook. So it’s not as straightforward as that.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/24 06:17 AM
9

And evidently, also you
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/24 07:17 PM
1

Yeah we’re talking about having friends in the first place, it’s fairly standard to not introduce your friends until things get more serious with someone. When you’re dating someone you can usually tell if they have any without meeting the friends.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/24 05:36 PM
1

Could you clarify where either of these women created tension or drama?
/r/MensRights15/07/24 04:54 PM
3

So you run up to a young girl outside her home, she was perfectly polite to you and for all you know genuinely forgot her keys - that’s an example of extreme sexual paranoia? As for the first - you were watching a girls phone on public transport and felt the need to ask her about it, which again she was civil and polite to you, a stranger. Someone is deeply neurotic here and it’s neither of them.
/r/MensRights15/07/24 04:10 PM
4

Except the stat you quoted says only 15% of men report having no close friends, and 15% is far from the majority
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/24 04:01 PM
3

What is stopping men from reaching out to their friends to hang out? Or joining team sports, starting a hobby, volunteering, going to work drinks/events? As someone who moved to a city a couple years ago and had to build a new social circle, it is a LOT of effort with swings and misses but it does eventually pay off. If you’re not willing to make that effort, that’s on you.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/24 03:05 PM
3

What do you think the drivers are?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/24 03:01 PM
2

Not really, I don’t really do anything I wouldn’t want my bf to know about. I’d expect both my bf and friends to hold me accountable and call me out when needed though.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/24 02:50 PM
10

Men created a countdown timer for Natalie Portmans, Hillary Duffs, Billie Eilishs etc 18th birthday …
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/24 01:50 PM
6

Talk about missing the point 😂 you want a relationship with a woman but you obviously don’t like women or value them for anything outside of sex
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/24 12:49 PM
3

He was saying his friends would cover for him if he did heroin. Thats not a good friend, a good friend calls you out and would encourage you to get help. What did I miss, exactly?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/24 12:47 PM
6

Kindly show me where I’ve ever done that
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/24 12:45 PM
4

Maybe your issue is that you view relationships with women as a means for “cheaper sex” just a thought
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/24 12:42 PM
2

Ok, why do you think women don’t want men with no friends?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/24 12:34 PM
6

Sounds like you’d rather date one of your bros tbh… if your bros happily let you do heroin those aren’t your friends, friends aren’t yes men or enablers
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/24 12:34 PM

super chill
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/24 12:12 PM
8

Absolutely WILD that men here are arguing that a social life and support network being good things is propaganda
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/24 12:05 PM
1

sure but there’s a lot of overlap in the traits that go into both - do you make an effort with people, are you pleasant to be around hence people want to be around you? I know some people who got really unlucky with friends and therefore don’t have many and that’s fine, but for a lot of people who don’t have friends there’s a good reason for it and it’s also a big part of the reason they can’t get into a relationship
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/24 12:01 PM
1

Thank you… it’s wild how many people are saying that having friends is a dumb prerequisite that nobody needs
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/24 11:58 AM
6

Not really, my bf only has a couple of close friends while I have a much wider circle of different friend groups and it’s not really a factor to me. He’s maintained those friendships for years and it means I’m not his sole support network.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/24 11:55 AM
12

And you don’t think that has anything to do with the decline in men’s mental health? Humans are social animals, socialisation is important even if it’s become less common
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/24 11:52 AM
7

it’s telling of how someone is in a relationship if they can’t even make and maintain friendships
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/24 11:51 AM
1

Is this proven anywhere or you just going off snippets from trashy podcasts?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/24 11:34 AM
1

So now you’re making things up in the face of stats because “wimmen bad” 😂 For most people, divorce is preferable to being cheated on
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 10:44 PM
1

The 180 happens because people change over time, especially over the course of decades and with big life changes. Some people don’t show their true colours until after marriage or children, shit happens, I don’t believe in blaming it all on one gender. Gay men also have the highest rates of non monogamy and cheating, married men generally cheat more often too.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 10:41 PM

That’s fine, like I said just reporting my own observations. Idk how tall you are. When I referred to my tall friends I meant women, 5’7 upwards is usually considered tall for women.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 10:36 PM
1

You know full well that if the stats were inverted and it was men most unhappy in marriages and leaving, everyone would be lamenting about how awful women are at being wives 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 10:35 PM
1

Men are happier married, women aren’t. What does that tell you?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 10:28 PM
1

There’s obviously a huge difference to being in love and compatible with someone, and staying with someone even though you aren’t happy because in your mind it beats being single
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 10:15 PM
-2

You’re really showing off your lack of life experience here. Actively wanting to be with someone is a completely different thing to just not wanting to be single.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 09:42 PM

Do they actually want to be with the woman they dated as a kid, or do they just not want to be single? Big difference.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 09:15 PM
-12

Love a good generalisation! Most men don’t want to marry the person they were with at school. The person you’re compatible with at 16 is often not the same person you’re compatible with at 26, and that’s okay.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 09:12 PM
-1

TIL anyone not attracted to men is “deviant” 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 09:08 PM
1

So asexuals and some gay men also have a primal desire for masculine control?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 09:06 PM
1

I’m 5’5 but my friend is 5’9, she gets hit on a lot by average/short guys who are into taller women, whereas I’ve always got more attention from tall men. This is purely anecdotal but my observation is that tall men seem to be into petite women whereas average/short men seem to be more into taller women, not sure why. Most of my tall friends (5’7+) are with guys around their height or shorter.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 09:04 PM
-2

How?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 09:01 PM
10

Lesbians and asexuals have left the chat
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 09:01 PM
1

You think insecure women aren’t subjected to the same treatment? We’re berated for anything that could come across as needy or validation seeking, even just wearing makeup, but also we’re not supposed to be openly confident either.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 06:19 PM
1

By other men, read literally any advice by red pillers/PUAs. Go take your beef to them.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 06:10 PM
-2

My goodness you’re dramatic
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 06:06 PM
1

Ok sorry you don’t get pussy, the fuck am I supposed to do about that 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 05:34 PM
1

I know 3. Just because you haven’t seen it personally doesn’t mean it never happens.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 05:06 PM

Then why do many men leave their wives for younger, more attractive women after many years of investment? You really think that guy found more in common with a 25 year old than the mother of his children?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 04:51 PM
2

What exactly about my comment led you to say that? All you know about my actions is what I do after work.
/r/MensRights12/07/24 04:49 PM
1

Do they?
/r/MensRights12/07/24 04:19 PM
1

Depends on the guy I guess. In my experience, most guys want something serious but like I said, I avoid dating apps.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 04:10 PM

Depends what else both people bring to the table. Looks can get you in the room but it won’t keep you there unless that person actually likes you.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 03:58 PM
1

What do you think has changed in the last 9 years that make the results so unreliable? Dating apps were alive and well back then too.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 03:44 PM

https://www.psychologytoday.com/gb/blog/social-instincts/201507/when-men-arent-good-looking-they-think?amp People behave differently on apps than dating in real life which is why I’ve not been on a dating app in 4 years. If those women are getting matches than in the eyes of the men they’re matching with, they’re in the same league. There isn’t much to prove or disprove this as it’s just anecdotal. While egotistical people are everywhere, women on the whole struggle with more body dysmorphia, ea…
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 03:38 PM

Not all women do it - there’s your answer
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 03:29 PM
26

Don’t men typically rate themselves higher than women in terms of attractiveness?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 03:28 PM

Well, yeah. Lazy and entitled people are everywhere, why does it always has to be made about gender?
/r/MensRights12/07/24 03:24 PM

Because you asked what women do after work to improve themselves and the consensus here is that apparently all women do absolutely nothing, despite the OP only referring to two women
/r/MensRights12/07/24 03:18 PM

Do you have a source for this? I’d be interested in reading it.
/r/MensRights12/07/24 03:13 PM

No
/r/MensRights12/07/24 03:12 PM

Can you back up your claim at all? In my country exams are marked blind, meaning the person marking has no indicator of the students gender, race etc for this exact reason
/r/MensRights12/07/24 03:07 PM
1

Want to clarify the hypocrisy? I just answered what I do to improve myself after work.
/r/MensRights12/07/24 02:59 PM

My first comment that they responded to referred to women
/r/MensRights12/07/24 02:44 PM

Strawman
/r/MensRights12/07/24 02:40 PM

My initial comment you responded to was about women academically outperforming men, you responded that it’s because men don’t want to engage in “feminist cesspits” so you tell me how it’s relevant
/r/MensRights12/07/24 02:29 PM

It’s women’s faults you don’t do well in school?
/r/MensRights12/07/24 02:16 PM

/r/MensRights12/07/24 01:57 PM

Women account for 50.7% of the college education workforce and perform better than men in education…
/r/MensRights12/07/24 01:23 PM

After work I either go to the gym, run, climb with friends or do chores if you’re after an actual answer. My bf is similar to me so it all comes down to compatibility really.
/r/MensRights12/07/24 01:10 PM

What kind of discrepancies?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 11:24 AM
4

My mindset has always been that a guy who’s about to see me naked probably has an idea of what I look like and he’s obviously keen to see it so why stress? Complimenting someone goes a long way if you’re dealing with someone more insecure (plus who doesn’t like compliments)
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 11:16 AM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
