I think there's a difference in how males and females gain experience to get calibrated. While females generally are able to get a sense of who they can afford to be with by just existing (who approaches with sexual interest/long-term interest), males have to approach both upwards and downwards of their own desirability to get a sense of who their match could be.

This is actually what matchmakers ask their clients.

Usually as you experience more relationships, you learn how to manage your emotions better, balance relationship and your life better and have more realistic boundaries/expectations (they could either get higher or lower). I don't stress out about the same things that I did when I was younger, so those emotions I feel are quite a bit less intense. I know what I would do in more situations. Earlier relationships could be more like a rollercoaster of emotions due to that reason imo. But when it co…

There's women who are really into musicians. Me being one of them. I've had at least a little crush on basically all of my half decent musician friends. Can't explain why. My boyfriend plays the piano and I think he is hot even when he cuts his fingernails cause it reminds me of him playing the piano.

I very happily got together with a guy I went out with in high school a decade later. That proved to me that my taste in guys has barely changed over that time. I never was in some kind of fling and was always able to find someone I liked among the guys who were interested in me.

I advise people to date who they know. They could either agree or disagree with me, but I find that it's pretty much the only way to vet if they do want to vet that is. If not, you either don't know the person or assume things about the person while dating the person. You have an issue with people who assume the worst about the person. I am saying I have issues with trying to date strangers as a whole. I think online dating is only for people who don't care for vetting, or are naive, or think th…

I think this is something that stemmed from people attempting to date strangers. This is not how dating used to work at all. When people used to date within their communities, even if they didn't know the person directly, it was usually pretty easy to figure out someone's reputation. Also, when people had to live within the boundaries of a single community, people kinda had to care a bit more about their own reputation, and that too could have impacted their own actions. Before, it was easier to…

Okay, this is hilarious reading as someone who does come from a culture where arranged marriages used to be the norm. My grandparents were arranged and my parents were arranged, and I thought I'd be arranged too. Anyway... arranged marriages are thought to have a higher success rate because it is the families that get involved when setting their kids up based on familial compatibility and the potential benefits of merging of the two families. We could say that it was strictly based on each perso…

Conservative women are supposed to value what her family values. My boyfriend who had a relatively conservative upbringing asked me what my father values in a guy probably on our first date since that’s really important. Conservative households differ from family to family, but generally the guy has to be on par with the girl’s father or better.

So here's a part of the redpill that you seem to be forgetting when I read your post and comments. Dread game is a thing, because people often get too comfortable. It is based on the assumption that the person needs to reminded or threatened of their position. A lot of people can very well hide their true selves until they think they have gotten what they want, so you just keep reminding them that they actually haven't fully secured what they want. People often say this is not a healthy way to n…

This really depends. I tend to think men are more prone to oneitis for some reason. Not all Chads want Becky harems either so it really comes down to which Chad. If the Chad has oneitis, which they quite often do, the power goes to his oneitis. I know no Stacy in my family that thought men were something to win over... but that's anecdotal. Men chase and they choose. We have generations of actual models and model/top celebrity tier women in the family btw.

Yeah I know how you guys would react. But it is when I have options and guys texting me that I was just completely off the market. Being not interested in dating to the point that you'd rather have your family find you a spouse is pretty severe I think.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/25 04:50 AM

Probably not. It isn't even about me having sky high standards, but just no longer having the energy to really take new chances. Maybe it isn't much, but I was completely single for almost a year before my boyfriend who was pre-vetted from my high school days miraculously showed up. I was done with dating to the point that I just told my mom to bring me the arranged marriage requests my family has for me.

Not at all. Leverage has to match up for the most stable matches. Ideally, superficially speaking, both partners should be replaceable. That’s when you get to observe without leverage on either side. Mating several leagues down exposes you even more to the complacency factor, cause these people try really hard to get with you. Humans in general aren’t too wise and get too comfortable.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/25 07:31 PM

Exactly why I think the only way to properly vet is to go for people with plenty of options. Power reveals who the person is. Also, it is as if PPD hasn't heard of complacency which is way too common unfortunately. Things aren't that simple. Sometimes, just going for people who have enough leverage in the market to be transparent yields results in a more efficient manner than someone who would be hiding it for months. But of course, I do believe women/men have to measure up to the people they ar…

You are talking to a wall here. You still have access to the real world. People who primarily live online live in an alternate universe from you. My boyfriend has a 17 year old brother. The kid and his friends make fun of red pill apparently, and think it is something for weird losers. Don't lose your social circle or your connection to the real world. You might find yourself amongst the leftovers of the dating scene if you do.

What do men here do not understand about women generally being more passive than men? It is not just laziness, but actual passivity. They display more passivity than men even in their same gender social groups. Passive aggressiveness, speaking in codes, just wanting others to get it, and etc. can all be observed within same gender social groups and this does not have to stem from laziness. I think passive aggressive may require more work than just being aggressive so women's passivity is not abo…

I'll be transparent by stating that I'm from a different culture. When my dad passed, it was during covid, so I could not travel to attend his funeral or be with my family. I still needed support so I stayed at an ex's place. My dad's side of the family treated me like a prostitute after that. And well even now, I am not allowed to disclose the existence of my boyfriend to my social circle over there. Only some family members and some very close family friends know. Women just are more passive in nature in a general sense. It is not just with approaching guys, but many of them speak in codes or not explicitly or just want others to get it. I asked my boyfriend out and he too is freaking passive. I don't mind that he didn't approach, but his passivity is quite something. He is stereotypically feminine.

you were anticipating that they were going to approach I wasn't at all. I was PERFECTLY fine with them remaining my friends. you didn't want to ruin the friendship is cope Never suggested one or the other. I just was fine with not dating them. That’s a pathetic assumption. If both parties have self-respect, there’s no real upper hand no matter who approaches first. And why would I be awful to someone especially the one I really like? I just was good with having them as my friends. And no, those crushes were far from Chads, and it was even confirmed by two non-bluepilled PPD guys.

I don't think her thinking the guy is not interested is as critical. "Oh wow" is a hard fall. I looked up the guys I fell hard for like a decade later too. Like how Chad supposedly can do anything, after that "oh wow" moment, the window can even be semi-permanent. They could have pursued me a decade after, and I still might have said yes. The problematic part I think is that women often hide these thing, and men may never know. Personally, I think I hid the spark damn well. I probably would have…
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/25 04:53 PM

What u/OMWSpuds said. But that being said, even if the guy is a bit out of shape, I would always choose face over body. I am fine as long as the body is within a reasonable range imv. The range doesn't include super skinny, but it includes slightly overweight.

So I've been thinking about warm approaches for a bit, and I think I agree with an ex-PPD member. He told me the timing to approach a woman is once you see a sparkle in her eye or something when dealing with you, not before. There can be times when a guy goes from neutral to "oh wow". Guys here seem to believe the "oh wow" can disappear very easily, but I actually think that's when you "give it a chance" at a neutral stage.

I think there's two possible alternative explanations. You either meet or do not meet the looks thresholds depending on your body fat. I probably only feel responsive desire (minus towards musicians who I can be interested in going on dates right away, not have sex), but I certainly do have looks thresholds. You are mostly dealing with women who do feel spontaneous desire so you project their attraction onto other women.

The latter balances me out better even though it is less comfortable. Honestly, although my case is a bit more severe than others, dating someone like me wasn't going to lead anywhere. Many of us need someone to make us care more about things we wouldn't care about if we were by ourselves.

Well I don’t really see it as just complacency. Neither of us put our relationship front and center and we both had pretty busy careers at the time. And we just understood what came first to us, and we both would find it understandable. So it was somewhat like an open relationship in the sense that we were both alright with less conventionally accepted relationship practices. Imagine if you forgot the bday of a woman you are dating. I’ve dated both. Too similar to me was comfortable but neither of us felt compelled to really focus on the relationship enough cause neither of us really needed to feel cared for and we both understood it too well. There was one year when we forgot each other’s bdays. Now on the other hand, I am dating a guy very different from myself, and I know I would never hear the end of it if I missed his bday, so I do put in more care.

Men tend to like hyper masculine looks in men, but women don’t feel similarly then it is male gaze. Women may like a bit more androgynous looks in men, and a lot of men may not get it. Then it is female gaze. Height is not a female gaze cause even guys recognize tall guys in a positive manner. Not that they are sexually attracted to the tall guy, but they acknowledge his height being impressive.

Anyone outside of the range, I am not interested in. So far, nothing too crazy, but I do require quite a bit more when it comes to face unless the guy is a musician. You can have sex with someone without being obligated to marry them. You can have sex with someone bevause you like them, not knowing if its going to be for ever as long as no prgnancy is involved you protect yourself from diseases. Options based on a lie are not real options. Yeah I think so too. If men only want a woman for sex, those are not the woman's options. To me someone who cares about marriage too much is a redflag Yeah, you are free to think that. I am with a guy who thinks even entertaining a date without wanting to marry the woman is degenerate. Who is desirable in the market doesnt mean anything. It does. It gives people more options, and often more quality options too. Not ratio-wise, but just number-wise. It is on the desirable ones to vet through them, and choose what kind of combination of traits you want amongst the quality options. This applies to both men and women. Personally i cant marry someone if i dont know if shes any good in bed. That's you. And I don't date guys like that. They get their options to choose from, and well …

Different men do different things. Desirable men could even discard the woman they found perfectly fine when she grows old. With women who were beside them at their lowest, they could even discard for their desirability levels not matching up anymore. Some men want a main chick and many side chicks and so on. The thing is, regardless of gender, when people are desirable, they have a lot of people “line up” and among those exist quite a few desirable ones too. If the woman does not have multiple …

https://np.reddit.com/r/PurplePillDebate/s/mDqczCremJ There’s desirable men who have principles. Women need to measure up in desirability to be with those guys though. Some people meet after they become desirable. My dad knew he would have had no chance with my mom if he wasn’t already set up for success, and he didn’t really have an issue with the fact. I think it heavily depends on whether the guy has a regular co-ed social group or not. And it happens so that more people are more isolated these days than before. My boyfriend said his single friends only hang out with their own gender, and that’s the difference between them and his partnered up friends. He finds that there’s no other noticeable difference among his friends at least. Dating is harder for men when the man is either neurotic or overly passive or both. I think that’s the issue of …

I don't think you understood what I've written. I don't. I vet by seeing what men do when they are desirable, and I date men that I already know. I believe some men are polygamous. That's actually exactly why I think it is better to go for men with options. I get to know how they act GIVEN the options. Of course, the woman has to measure up to the guy to even attempt that. Power reveals who the person is, and I prefer knowing who the person is. ChatGPT fixed the paragraph issue for you. Do most women know that men are polygamous? When a man is either, rich, famous or good looking (above average) they all lean towards polygamy. In other words, they are as faithful as their options. Examples of men like these are celebrities, kings, emperors, influencers, CEOs. Some exceptions may exist, but they are very few and almost can be overlooked. Those who seem to be monogamous are either average or below average looking and they are not rich or…

Honestly, if one is desirable enough, it is more than possible to fish a league down or so and still be attracted to your partner. Then you get to optimize for more traits that you want in a person. Not everyone has to pick the most superficially desirable person to still be attracted.

To preface, I am not advocating for men to make the first move at all times, but I am only trying to explain potential contributing factors. Women are more passive in nature. When they "approach", they tend to show IOI's, not actually make a direct approach. I think this may have something to do with their risk averseness which we could potentially attribute to women's higher neuroticism in general. Apparently when women do initiate, they tend to have high assertiveness (which is said to be a fa…

I don't think that relates too well to the point I was making. Sure, "hot approaching" would improve one's chances of getting together with the person, but not verifying the person's character. I wasn't talking about improving "acceptance rate", but (improving) vetting.

I think the terms are either warm approach or cold approach. Warm approach means you approach someone you already know. In my case, someone I know well enough to be confident in my judgement of their character.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/25 07:20 PM
1

I said I don't mind warm approaching once I get to know the guy enough through being in the same social circle (or even forced proximity like school/work). It is pretty important to expand and/or maintain one's social circle in order to use this method.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/25 04:35 PM
2

So here’s the thing. I said earlier that I believe people are more likely show their true selves when the stakes are low, and when it is not in short periods of time. Cold approaching creates the exact scenario for the person to potentially hide oneself. We can either vet for personality or go for excellent surface level traits first. I think it is easier to go from personality to surface level traits than the other way around. One needs to figure out what they are going for, and the best way to…
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/25 02:31 AM
5

Nah. I think that’s how men and women end up complaining so much about the other gender. They are sticking their (hypothetical) dick in crazy before vetting cause what’s on the outside is appealing. I take vetting very seriously. I can wait and did wait until I was convinced it could work until I even considered dating someone. The downside is that you can’t realistically get to know too many people well enough, so using this approach limits your dating pool significantly.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/25 10:53 PM
5

Yeah and I didn’t really have difficulties being attracted to enough men within my social circle. People who meet my looksbar aren’t rare to the point that I need to wish upon a star that a good looking stranger would somehow turn out to be a virtuous person.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/25 01:50 PM
8

Looks not being the only criteria is what I am saying. I think people tend to show their truer selves when they don’t desire anything in particular, basically when the stakes are low. And it is rather easy to control oneself for short periods of time, so I don’t believe in casually dating to vet the guy. If I only selected for looks and just allowed anything to come at me, honestly I think I would have to bear responsibility for those results. I don’t think I am THAT selective in looks btw.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/25 01:40 PM
17

I don’t mind asking a guy out on a date, but I don’t believe in cold approaching. I don’t think the idea of vetting a stranger well is very realistic. If you could also guarantee that I would somehow be able to learn about him instantly, sure. What you listed above is too surface level, so that could be possible, but I also have to look at one’s character. Choosing better is almost only possible with warm approaches imo.

Yeah so when you look at their points given and the percentile, it is hella misleading. Also, the attractiveness of faces are all over the place from average and up.

When you divide up the bell curve (normal distribution using bounded range normalized percentile, instead of the standard cumulative) by the horizontal distance (let's say the horizontal axis goes from 0 to 10 like how Reddit often likes to rate), and if you calculate the aggregate area (percentile) of the curve in 0.5 increments, we get the below table. x Normalized Percentile (%) 0.0 0.00 0.5 0.21 1.0 0.69 1.5 1.66 2.0 3.47 2.5 6.56 3.0 11.40 3.5 18.32 4.0 27.36 4.5 38.18 5.0 50.00 5.5 61.82 6…

I think we are able to show our morality when it is challenged, not when things are easy. One doesn't get to claim virtue like that. I think we are told that we are good so much that we come to see our actions as good when we have never proved our goodness. We ended up justifying ourselves so much that self-centeredness is now seen as moral by many.

I don't really care what other people do. I think it is kinda weird to care so much about what other people are up to. There's enough people who take the husband's name, and there's enough people who don't for various reasons. The ones who adopt their husband's last name could want the whole family to have the last name, want to be a part of man's life, husband wants it and they don't want to just not disrupt the peace, just don't care enough to challenge the norms or whatever their reason is, I…

Your comment reminded me of the below. You can read the whole thread here. Sex differences in attractiveness is a feature of sexually dimorphic species. Sexual dimorphism - physical differences across the two sexes - makes males and females of a given species look very different. Few would dispute the male peacock is more beautiful than the female. In most cases it seems to be the male. But occasionally females are more beautiful. In the redback spider: Female - big, round, bright red abdomen. M…

I think it is fair to argue that morality could also be about standing by one's words even at the cost of oneself. Just because more people have come to prioritize themselves, the morality of it doesn't really change. Normalization is only normalization.

I didn't think reuniting online counted as meeting online, but with the where have you met your partner stats, apparently my couple also belongs in the meeting online group. By the sounds of it, it sounds like you subscribe to No Pill. On this sub, when we talk about red pill, it is in relation to TRP, as stated in the subreddit's about section. The name Red Pill is a branding tactic. It builds identity and belonging through the illusion of insight. If you really feel that you are doing critical thinking and contextual analysis with no bias, no pill should suffice. To me, it seems like you attempting to hijack the already hijacked metaphor from The Matrix.

If the descriptive nature is too rigid and actually does not allow for honest exploration with multifactorial categorization, there’s no point in conducting studies. TRP rarely specifies conditions or scope which are required in research. Working with a predetermined set of beliefs as TRP calls it a framework, instead of a hypothesis to be tested and potentially falsified is the antithesis of genuine research. I like genuine inquiry, not ideology.

One big issue I have with TRP is that it relies on single factor analysis too often which does lead to overgeneralization and ends up sounding stupid. Another predictor of infidelity was attractiveness. A person's own attractiveness was negatively associated with infidelity among women but not men (statistically insignificant) - meaning less attractive women were more likely to have an affair. A partner's attractiveness was negatively associated with infidelity among men but not women (statistically insignificant) - meaning men were more likely to be unfaithful when their partners were less attractive. https://www.business-standard.com/article…

Could be confirmation bias, cause it could be what we are exposed to a lot, but yeah. A partner's attractiveness was negatively associated with infidelity among men but not women - meaning men were more likely to be unfaithful when their partners were less attractive. This was also quite something.

Well I am a bit of an old school liberal in regards to gender ideology stuff. I still believe individuals shouldn't be defined by their gender. But I think we may have gone too far that too many people believe the general male/female nature does not exist. As someone with a Christian upbringing, I would like to say that Christianity in particular attempted to restrict both male and female sexuality. It can't work with just one gender being suppressed. Okay. This is going to be long. I still think men don't take the best they can get when they are young and hopeful. And again, there's things like transitory relationships and forever girlfriends. I haven't visited the idea for a while, but I figured transitory relationships are the problem. The top tier people need to be taken off the market for good to empty out the most desirable prospects, and more people will see this as a time crunch to avoid the leftover market. Even the "assisted masturb…

I think the normalization of transitory relationships (i.e., situationships) could be the problem. It doesn't exactly directly make women delusional, but it changes the expectation of commitment that it could change the dating sphere. In my days too. I am not sure if it has changed or if it has, when it has changed. But hell, I am cautious even when guys in my league approach me, cause I know what they are capable of. Even when there's league parity, women have to make sure of the nature of thes…

As a Zillennial, guys around me seem to be paired up for the most part. A complete hypothesis, but I think male calibration could be slower than female calibration partly due to women having to do nothing to be calibrated. Women are able to learn from the guys that approach her or don't approach her, and by the quality and intent of the interest. Men however have to approach both upwards and downwards with believable amount of effort and see the highest range they can attract. As the pursued gen…

I still think redpill cherry picks and spins the narrative. There’s silent moralizing probably due to the sense of superiority coming from what I consider to be a result of male ego. I too read evo psych and have plenty of cynicism. But as long as I sense moralizing and the lack of nuance, meh. I wish more people would stop moralizing and practice critical thinking. Don’t try to search for things one would want to hear, just to cling on. Critical thinking requires one to seriously consider all p…

I used to think that too when I was younger. As of right now, I tend to think that it does not increase a woman's attractiveness, but perhaps her feasibility as a partner.

Yeah so it is about male/female nature, then without moralizing it, they just do what they think would be in their best interest. Apparently, RPW isn't pro-redpill men. They just believe in the same male/female nature stuff.

I think there needs to be a distinction. Women's money shouldn't dramatically increase her mate value that it gives her access to men she would not have had access to without the money. Some may be less inclined to eliminate men based on his income potential though. But some still may want a man who brings in just as much or more. I don't know how many women actually do have enough income to feel that they no longer feel the need for double income either. But yeah, I am of the opinion that money…

I am of the opinion that maturity needs to be defined differently for each gender or even each person. To me, a big part of maturity is to round out your vices sufficiently to be compatible/tolerable with enough number of people. If a person has a trait that makes it difficult to get along with others, that trait may need to be worked on so that it manifests in a more acceptable form.

I'm of the opinion that there doesn't need to be a direct 1:1 comparable trait. I don’t think you are very aware of the things I say on this sub. You may have picked the worst person to accuse that of. A lot of the studies conducted nowadays have an agenda. Reader discretion is more needed than ever. Social science is more prone to misapplied use of generalization either intentionally or unintentionally. The scientific process needs to define the scope and the conditions very carefully so that the findings would be replicable every time.

I don't think what I do would be very helpful in you trying to figure this out since I may be out of the norm. The below is what I think would be probably acceptable. So I think you say you'd pay, she offers to split, you say it is on you, then what happens after this is probably the closest answer. If she insists, let her split. If she doesn't, go ahead and pay. Don't change up the whole vibe after you pay. Some level of attraction could be expressed before paying too to make it less weird.

So there's this problem too. The way a dude acts around his bros can be very different from the way he would act around a girl. A guy could just act chill and try to fit in with the bros especially when he has less say in the group, and how guys hang could also be pretty mindless. Friendships don't carry the same level of risk or investment as relationships. You don't need to show that much about yourself to just hang out with people, but that's not really the case in relationships.

I think "Where are all the good men" is more spoken among the older crowd. "Where are all the good men" can be answered by most good men already having been taken off the market. But the truth is, if they are good themselves, they must be able to recognize the good ones who are already paired up. It should make them solemn, not resentful. I think who blame the other gender for lacking are just telling on themselves. And I think you may be giving men too much credit. I think goodness is pretty sc…

/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/25 07:28 PM

This case is a prime example of being neurotic leading to a lack of trust, not trust and being neurotic coexisting. The gravity of the situation can trigger such neurotic needs, but that doesn't mean it should be called something different in this particular discourse. This isn't about framing things palatably, but identifying the underlying motivations and implications. “Trust but verify” is a euphemism for normal discourse, not this PPD one.

They were engaging in a debate making such a claim disingenuous.

I think you may be getting a very wrong idea from the internet and this place. Leftovers are a leftover for a reason. Well my country still is pretty sexist, but one way to circumvent that is to be born privileged. When the parents don’t have enough money to invest in both the girl and the boy, boys get more investment in education and sometimes even in diet. Boys who grow up like that often end up entitled and think different treatment is natural. And when the girls you go to school with have powerful parents, boys are taught to act better too.

The country tends to be very closed minded towards what's different.

ACS is a robust and high-quality data. I’m not questioning the reliability of the data source or the sample size itself. My concern is about the interpretation of the data when it reflects a phenomenon with a low base rate, not the sample size. Making generational claims from an outcome that applies to less than 20% of young men still risks overgeneralization. Even when drawn from a large, reliable dataset, low-prevalence phenomena pose interpretive challenges. The risk isn't about statistical n…

I'm younger than you, but my observations are a bit different. Social media at least in my teenage years allowed students to communicate online, but we mostly made plans online and hung out offline. It was big, but how it was used was still way more balanced. When I was younger, OLD was seen as a loser thing people who could not date normally used. More people were expected to have lives primarily offline. I think we def had the advantage of having the opportunity to be better socialized.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/25 12:53 AM

I had an odd experience with my boyfriend where I knew almost immediately that a marriage could work out between us. It was not a matter of attraction, but an alignment of values, understanding of the cultures we both experienced, and expectations. I may sound like a religious zealot here, but I am not trying to be. I think it just used to be easier when a lot more people shared a narrow-ish set of beliefs. I would actually argue that to compete at the top percentile, access to the top SMV of the other gender is more genetically determined for the women, while men have to hit way more right marks without it being completely genetic. The most desirable women generally choose a good portfolio that accounts for mutable traits too. The most desirable men generally choose based on immutable genetics a lot more. I am not trying to moralize this. Biology is what drives us to determine SMV/desirability per…

SMV calculation itself is asymmetric for the genders. Youth matters more for women. Height matters almost only for the men. Men here even like to claim that low n-count matters a lot more for the women and so on. SMV percentile match after your whole portfolio is evaluated by the metrics the other gender cares about is relevant. SMV is not about some 1:1 comparison of the same variable.

"Pretty similar" I was talking about the availability of the choice to choose otherwise, and the reality of having to live with the options one has. I personally don't use the term. The dominant theory currently is the sexual market theory. I think they could have enough desirability to simply cheat if we disregard the consequences, but don't have enough leverage to seek polygyny upfront. these kinds of men are the ones that get complained about by both men and by women. Probably. How Stacies act seems to often be accepted by men as their God-given right. Women exclusively tend to complain about how Stacies act. Furthermore, many attractive people have a lot of practice being able to hide their true intentions I actually think it is the other way around. Attractive people can afford to be authentic.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/25 05:56 PM

My last comment was to oppose the OP. I am just talking about what could allow for polygyny. Historical polygyny that was accepted was transparent and did not involve betrayal so it wasn't actually cheating, you are correct. There was a contractual difference. One did not expect monogamy, the other one does. I don't really care about what you would do or what I would do or some other women would do. I am saying, it is possible to have asymmetric dynamics with enough leverage. It is possible with…
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/25 05:50 PM

Well, people also have the option to mate down to gain more leverage. They just don't want to mate down to gain the leverage they need for less symmetric dynamics. Six figures usually can't buy one such a leverage. They just can't afford to do it the real way. The cultures where they had polygyny approved of it when the men could actually afford it upfront.

I am from the East and infidelity used to be illegal in my country. We can still sue the adulteress for damages. Indonesia passed a new criminal code that includes adultery as a criminal offense in 2022. Being against adultery is not some western idea. Don't make promises you don't plan on keeping.

It can be seen as a form of disrespect for the woman and the relationship even without insecurity being present. People can have different views of what’s actually appropriate within a relationship. If the couple agrees with one another, great.

Some people make such a decision to forego the most superficially desirable individual they can get when a league below is still more than satisfactory and doing so allows them to optimize for other traits. But I would say superficial traits still matter nonetheless. It doesn’t mean we dumpster dive, we just go a league or two below.

Demanding submission when it is unearned or not mutually agreed upon. In some cases where someone’s ego gets out of hand. The photo is how ancient Asians saw masculinity/femininity. There’s some positive words. I think the lists do a better job of describing what’s likely to be unconsciously perceived as masculine/feminine by the masses. Not perfect but a good enough example imv. <image>

The cultural difference is quite big. Trad values don't just stop at who does the housework, but it is deeply embedded culturally. The more trad the woman is, the more she understands. And these women's families generally aren't that progressive to accept their daughter marrying a foreigner in general. There is often some degree of nationalism or something of the sort too I find. Because traditionalism is often something that's just drilled into us from young age, and it often goes beyond what's…

Thank you. The big obstacle to actually making something like this work in modern times is that such mindset has to be widespread for it to be feasible for many, not just that it is not taught to kids. Delayed gratification or restraint probably isn't in our nature. Even Asia is losing a lot of its older practices.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/25 07:55 PM

Not really. Men are more likely to adopt a dual mating strategy or have differing thresholds for sex and investment. I just think neither gender should moralize their own biology anymore, and try to understand the biology behind why each gender act the way they do. Both genders want the other gender to cater to the opposite biology, calling their own more fair or virtuous or whatever.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/25 07:08 PM

Yeah I am saying the latter could be a better equivalence. The former has to be different due to the biological differences anyway.

We were just understanding of each other's circumstances, and high pressure careers often require such partners especially if you don't want to deplete someone emotionally for you not being there. It is possible to change. I always chose based on what I was serious about at the time of getting with a man. Then came the guy who was intellectually competent when I was craving for an intellectual connection. The “socially retarded” culture could be the normalization of revealing clothing, not the expectation to change the way one dresses once paired up. Women were expected to dress modestly at all times, not just when they are paired up. I think competence stack may outperform status stack. Status stack is often preferred by women who are more concerned about their own status (from what I can tell at least anyway so purely from my own observations), but competence stack is respected even by the women who don't lack anything at all. But I have not read a single study on this particular thing so no scientific evidence whatsoever.

Female celebrities often seem to go for athletes who have an athletic stack. In the wild, at least from what I see, they tend to go for decent looking guys who have a competence stack. I mean there's stuff like Have standards vs. Don't be too picky Be sexually empowered vs. Don't move too fast Make the first move vs. Let him chase you Dress modestly vs. Show some skin and so on... even for women You have to realize what could potentially work for you and the limitations of the method. So there’s circumstantial low n and intentional low n even amongst women. Circumstantial low n for women could mean that she just didn’t have enough attractive guys giving her the type of attention that she wanted whether it be serious or casual. I only care for one's virginity when it is a testament to one's values. Celibacy can either be a conscious choice rooted in personal values or a circumstance. One doesn't get to play the virtue card when it was due to a circumstance, not conviction.

I'm a woman who is in a longterm relationship. I think biology isn't supposed to be pretty. But at the same time, if you aren't able to give the benefit of the doubt, you are also incapable of love. Basically, be desirable enough and learn to vet. Also, as far as I know, TRP is for the average men, not men with severe disadvantages that push him out of the average zone. Let me reiterate that I believe biology isn't pretty; it can be brutal and unfair.

People usually end up with someone within their league. If people are adamant about finding certain traits in a person, people usually go a league below, not full on dumpster dive. Just fishing down a league lets you optimize a whole lot. And honestly, it is not like we have 5 products on the market. Within one's league already has a lot of compatible people for most people unless the person is some extreme outlier.

I think it really depends on the culture. In trad marriage markets, the wall actually does exist for both genders. Being over 30 for women and 35 for men will duck age points.

Humans generally aren't virtuous, and biology isn't supposed to be pretty or indiscriminate. A part of the big misunderstanding is that males have a dual mating strategy (basically commitment vs. sex issue) due to the biological differences. PPD is mostly both genders trying to moralize their own biology, and wanting the other gender to cater to their biology, not one's own. That is not how things work. We like to think we are better than our biology, but eh.

Okay, I will have to read the actual study, but from this link alone, now the hypothesis is that the age that men and women feel the biological pressure to settle down is the main factor for the age gap in stated preference. The apps are not for the top suiters. And my country is weird in a sense that who we date and who we marry are supposed to be different. I should clarify. Nowadays, you CAN get married to foreigners, but that's usually children who grew up abroad and ended up meeting their partners organically like myself. But family elders won't like it at all usually. Arranged marriage market and the matchmaking market are different beasts, and is very discriminatory on all metrics.

The thing is, looksmatching first happens usually on genetic health markers, not body fat level unless one is obese enough. You probably have the genetic health markers for it.

The willingness to drop the term doesn't mean you are willing to drop the idea that women seek for better and men don't. It isn't a semantics issue, but simple market theory universities teach in first year econ. Women are just more calibrated than men probably cause of their inability to adopt a dual mating strategy. Men's failure to optimize is a display of miscalibration, not their undiscriminating nature. A woman's age is such an easy marker of fertility, and it is measured in absolute terms…

Women's biology requires a "strong" man for the sake of protection. So women's sexuality gets activated when they are reminded of the strength. On the other hand, male sexuality gets activated when they are reminded of signs of fertility. That's why women lose a lot of power in the SMP when they get old. Again, this is not hypergamy, but what makes up desirability in each gender. You seem to not understand how hypergamy is used even casually. You are trying to use it as a catch-all excuse. Hyper…

Physical cues of fertility are biologically universal, and men’s preferences are more concentrated around those markers than you might be willing to admit. Across cultures, male attraction consistently centers on youth and signs of genetic health which all rooted in evolutionary pressures tied to fertility. What’s often framed as diverse male taste still operates well within the boundaries of genetic stability indicators. Features like averageness (which in scientific literature, refers to morph…

I’ve actually been digging into the question of male investment baseline lately. I have found no data that holds up under scrutiny, not because I’m trying to be biased, but because much of what’s out there is either based on rating scales rather than percentiles, or it’s too distorted by short-term mating signals (due to where the data was collected). Women’s mate choice tends to be more consciously strategic than we often acknowledge. That's why women are sometimes considered to be the calculat…

Males have different thresholds for how much they are willing to invest. Since males want access to sex, some even dumpster dive with zero investment. This male behavior distorts which women are being chosen for life. When we do look at lifetime commitment, SMP is not a charity for neither women nor men. Men stop being generous with the ring. I am not moralizing this in any manner fyi. Males have the biological capability to have this dual mating strategy. It has nothing to do with virtue, but b…

Males have a dual mating strategy. If we are only talking about lifetime commitment, I am not too sure about the difference. And we must not forget male investment threshold is different from male engagement threshold while for females they are the same. Only desiring sexual engagement is generally a male thing and it adds a lot of noise to the signal.

Women’s mate selection tends to be relative to themselves like “richer than me” or “taller than me”. Men often optimize using absolute standards like young and attractive. The fact that women use a relative frame doesn’t make their behavior hypergamous. Hypergamy in both evolutionary literature and TRP refers to strictly mating up. Women trading up in certain traits is just strategic mating. Men who fail to understand their own market value, or misuse their currency often end up taking the best …

Women picking and choosing which traits they are paying for with their own desirability as a currency is a conscious trade off, a value exchange. They are consciously dating down in certain areas to pay for what they want, just like men are okay with dating down in some aspects. You’re conflating trait-specific optimization with hypergamy. Again, this is being ingenuous to label only one side as hypergamy when it is just universal market behavior. Also, men being that generous is only true for n…

SMP theory collapses if we don’t believe all the market participants of both genders want the same top goods. Men and women may value different things in each other, but that doesn’t mean both genders aren’t wanting the best one they can get out of the market. Only calling out women’s wants in men is disingenuous when there’s desirable women according to men’s desires too.

SMV is not 1:1 comparison though. Some traits matter more/only in women and vice versa. Youth matters more in women. Height matters way more in men and so on. A lot of people also claim that N-count matters way more for women.

/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/25 03:25 AM

They don't. SMP theory only holds up if both genders want the same top goods. Attraction is not sufficiently relative to one's value. It is more about the absolute value for SMP/leagues to be true.

There needs to be a bit more nuance. The entire concept of SMP only works if everyone wants the same rare-tier goods, and the real desires are not relative to one's own mate value. Any woman/man not being rare enough are actually being settled for, not "chosen". There was a study that suggested unattractive women cheat more (but men's own attractiveness did not have a statistically significant impact), but men with unattractive female partners cheat more (but women's partner's attractiveness did…

/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/25 03:06 AM

Even you said it is the Asian fixation. Hence, it is the feature that matters the most actually the strongest determining feature for your looks tier. It really ain't the eyes. Even in Asian clinical scoring, the nose gets about 25% of weight and the total eye zone (not just size but the angle and other traits of the eyes too) gets 18% of weight.

I’d refuse to go to my high school reunion to not get talked about for my boyfriend and I getting together. My couple would be the topic even after the reunion ends I think. We went to the same high school and briefly went out then too.

The thing is, circumstantial low-n/virgins might be alright with such a man, but intentional low-n/virgins are likely to be not. PPD tends to lump them together, but circumstantial ones tend to be the ones who lacked the opportunity to either have sex at all or be with someone they desired. If the opportunity presented itself, they very well would have. Meanwhile, intentional ones are, well, intentional. Even if the opportunity was present, they would not waver and stick to their values.

There's pros and cons to both. Extroverts tend to be happier even when I am not around, and introverts seem to be happier with more time with me. Extroverts need more people and don't necessarily need my full attention. Introverts seem to enjoy just a few people and I need to be one of them. If I want to be spending more time with the partner, introvert. If I want to have a lot more freedom, extrovert. I don't really mind either. My introvert boyfriend currently suffers a little due to my social…

I asked looksmaxxing gpt. not sure how accurate it is, but it said men who need fat to look better is about 50% of men according to it, but men who look OK with fat it says falls around 70%. But your logic actually does make sense to me. Your comment should be at the top. Looksmaxxing is a lot more nuanced than what most people think.

There's general commonalities shared by people of each field, and the type flexibility I look for have not been present in engineers I know at all. I agree there are people with "engineer brains" capable of abstraction, but that's not what I am looking for. Structured abstraction and fluid abstraction are very different.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/04/25 10:55 PM

Autism is more than introversion. I am an extroverted woman who is happily dating an introverted man, but I care very much about the ability to think flexibly often in an abstract manner. I don't even like most engineers as they are too rigid thinkers. Having a similar enough cognitive style matters quite a bit when connecting with one another.

Most people won't have the opportunity to be someone's "first choice" regardless of gender. It is something people should come to terms with. SMP only exists because there are preferred individuals in each gender by the market participants. SMP would not exist if even one gender was actually wholesome and not superficially driven. More realistic goal for most is to find a partner that would treat you right even if you aren’t the first choice. You may see it as coping, but that is something a lot of people have come to terms with. That’s what most comments are probably saying.

There's a difference between circumstantial or intentional virgins/low-n's. PPD tends to lump them together. I think there's levels of degeneracy, but brothels and strip clubs ARE degenerate. I would think anyone who claims otherwise to be crazy or disingenuous. Anyone who engages in such activities are engaging in degenerate activities. I do agree that degeneracy is a sliding scale. Engaging in premarital sex within a very committed relationship is still not proper, but less degenerate than having sex outside of a committed relationship. Hence, I could have accepted a man who engaged in the former but…

Attraction is not as straight forward like that. Making someone perfect on paper does not mean attraction. The only one that could work is when there was pre-existing attraction, but the guy was too poor to pursue a lifelong relationship with, then he somehow fixed his financial situation. It is only possible to make oneself more generally attractive, but attraction is not guaranteed from that person who gave the advice.

It is actually a red flag if the person doesn't realize that and chooses the partner instead. It is irresponsible. I even believe pets should come before adult human children.

No, I am thinking on a societal level and I think the level of discipline is more or less universally applied in order to get anywhere at all. I think it is absolutely the parents’ failure for not drilling enough discipline into their own kids. Regular school is not supposed to be that difficult. Especially since we are speaking on a societal level, school requires a lot less discipline than what’s required for success anyway. As a society, parents are failing their kids.

I am not sure if I agree with this quote to begin with, but the general idea of what you are saying is, Women are not attracted to men who are violent, but to men who are capable of violence and choose to control it. or as Jordan Peterson puts it, A harmless man is not a good man. A good man is a very dangerous man who has that under voluntary control. The idea is supposed to be a bit more nuanced.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/04/25 09:38 PM

It is not as easy as you put it. I had the easiest time in high school when dating didn't come with strong expectations in regards to sex. I basically nuked my dating pool when I was the only one (with some exaggeration) not offering sex. Cause I nuked my SMV, my perceived RMV had to be really high, and high enough so that men would not decide to play the male version of AF/BB with me, and wait it out for me.

Generally speaking without getting political, I don't think the schooling system was necessarily made FOR girls. It was made when we had involved parents. With uninvolved parents though, it just happened that girls were easier to manage. I don't think reforming the schooling system is the answer, as we have seen boys thrive in the same system. I feel that the discourse is asking the schools to do too much. Parents need to start raising their own kids again.

That doctor's son wasn't Asian by any measure. He was probably raised traditionally in a Christian household though with very involved parents. I really think so much of it is the parents and the general coddling mentality.

I don't know how I feel about this whole discourse. So I am Asian, and we are kinda known to do well academically regardless of gender. I think a lot has to do with parents' emphasis on education and how involved they are. In all of the schools I attended even in the West, boys made formidable competition academically. There was a non-Asian boy who's dad was a doctor and he excelled in pretty much EVERYTHING. I think it could be a lack of involvement of the parents and just parents being alright…

2 is not always about leagues. A woman needs to make herself special and irreplaceable somehow. Being in a similar league superficially, but being perceived to possess something rare is also a possibility. I kinda think it is a chicken or an egg problem. But if you want to maximize your chances of landing a high character woman for a LTR, you better focus on finding her in your 20s. I agree with this wholeheartedly. But many people of both genders seem to want to challenge their own mate value for too long and miss their best chance at a LTR. Actually a lot of women have much higher standards than this. 6’, 6”, 6-figure income, objectively attractive. My standards are below that. This is what she wrote in another comment. I don't think OP realizes there were enough women who didn't have such standards, and the majority of the men she is describing are already taken by those women. Wholesome people who learned fast enough are mostly gone from the market. She is late to the party. I don't think her being alright with men in their 40's …

It wasn't average at best. Average zone height but still above the mean height-ish, cannot be fat, without children and good character. That man is a rare commodity in that age range imo. Women are surprisingly alright with men with a solid career track that aren't making as much for the time being, so they too mostly get taken by that time. One's own value could be negligible if the answer to "where's all the good men/women" is "already taken". There's just lower ratio of them, more people to go through, more people that you need to vet correctly. Not impossible, but harder. It is exactly the same as you describe but gender reversed. It gets a lot more difficult for them to find each other.

You aren't exactly aiming too high, but most men who fit your description are already taken or are with a kid. I literally know just one guy meeting your criteria who is single. He recently got out of a LTR.

Visually, not so much from my observations. Rich women get boy toys and middle aged women tend to like actors around mid 30’s. A rich older woman with a young pretty male gold caddie is so common that a lot of people are now aware of it in my home country. Visually attractive vs. consider a partner material are different things. Women generally want commitment more than men. Only when women don’t care about commitment, they seem to chase beautiful men.

But can we assume that they were content and knew what they wanted though? A drawn out relationship means that much more investment into the relationship, and they threw away all that "sunk cost". That could be even more concerning in a way. If they knew what they wanted, they would have stayed forever, but after years, they decide it isn't right for them. It could potentially be better for someone to treat relationships seriously, but doesn't take as long to figure out whether they determine if…

I actually agree on the differences in male and female general tendencies that work like a spectrum. However, a leader who has not earned the respect and submission can always be challenged. It is a place that is earned. People capable of leading do end up in that role on their own. Giving submission in itself is being convenient. It is similar to feeding ugly women's ego and wooing her by calling her hot. For already married couples, yes, it could be the only fix cause they didn't marry a leade…

I don’t mean convenient as cooperative. I literally mean convenient. RPW is a guideline to women who lack leverage in the dating market or want that added convenience to mean more than what it does. It is beta bux but a female version of it. RPW is not a new concept, but like TRP, it was just coined by online communities.

I don't agree on RPW on many levels, so I am leaving my comment here. As long as we are biological creatures, youth and beauty matter in attraction. However, it is important to make sure you are valued for other things too other than just youth and beauty. Make sure your man values you for your intrinsic value rather than just your superficial, and of course, you should have enough intrinsic value to begin with. You have to have something special that he doesn't see in other women. By the way, R…

Genuinely, don't have sex with someone that you can't trust. In this case, he trusted her words too much. Like my mom taught me, don't have sex until you can be responsible for a child, and only with a man you want to have a family with. Sex is a much bigger responsibility than a lot of modernized people make it out to be.

Foreign women do tend to adjust their expectations to the western standards a lot. I for sure would not have chosen a traditional minded man from my home country. The problem is when the women choose to live a certain way and want certain attitudes from men en masse. Men might need to readjust as well if they don't want to make their dating pool even smaller.

I often make the distinction between western and men from my home country when I’m speaking in DM. There’s huge differences in how they perceive women and what’s normalized. However, I think redpill knowledge is way more widely accepted in cultures that aren’t as PC. Redpill is pretty much a common belief where I’m from. Conventional beauty standards exist. Facial harmony, balance and ratios are often talked about to really understand how most people perceive beautiful. You can even look up the golden ratio used in architecture. There seems to be fairly universal agreement on what our brains perceive to be harmonious or beautiful. There's subjective aspects of beauty, but beauty can also be objective enough to be studied and be of interest of many people's. Enough people believe there's something to it.

If women stay at home, they genuinely think they could do better than the man if she had the same opportunity very often. Therefore what you are proposing does not satisfy hypergamy. Also, it can be about what is the norm for your "group". i.e., My boobs aren't so awful for my ethnicity but that's only because I am not expected to have huge boobs to begin with.

You can feel free to disagree but Stacy/Chad should be about objective attractiveness and in the eyes of people who are more versed in hardmaxxing, his nose needs to be fixed for him to be called a Chad.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/01/25 07:34 PM

He looks "fine" as is. Chad? No.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/01/25 07:27 PM

Unfortunately, male T zone is like 50% of men's facial attractiveness. There's a reason why rhinoplasty is the most common plastic surgery performed on Asian men.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/01/25 07:21 PM

He has an upturned nose which is considered especially unattractive on men. The end of his nose needs to be lower. He'd be fine once he fixes that. Unfortunate really. Men often seem to think the jawline is what makes or breaks a male face, but it really is the T zone. The jawline is mostly male gaze.

There's differences in circumstantial vs. voluntary. I only care for voluntary actions. Has only had sex within very committed relationships should keep people's n-count rather low and is relatively acceptable in my book. If I only went for strict volcels, my dating pool would be close to nonexistent.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/01/25 05:31 PM

The passport bro who used to come to PPD to write about his experiences did rank [forbidden word] and how he said he would try to marry women of certain [forbidden word] before he needs to settle for other [forbidden word]. Of course, he dates women from the group that he ranked the lowest at this moment. Honestly, there's guys who like Asians, and would go for them even when they have plenty of options. However, the only way of knowing what someone is truly attracted to is to see what they do w…

Idk if she is sexually reserved and is looking for a man who is similar, there’s no issue other than her dating pool being worse than a puddle. If not, she’d better figure out what’s keeping her single or a virgin.

Passport bro would not be a right terminology. However, there often is a difference in culture and they can be pretty big. Even among immigrants, 1st gens tend to date other 1st gens, 1.5 gens tend to date other 1.5 gens and 2nd gens tend to date other 2nd gens. Couples just understand each other better this way.

Idk. Kinda extreme to hold such a view. I am not that into big gestures on such days, but he would still come across as weird. I don’t care much but am willing to care more for my partner personally. I would prefer to be with someone who’s more flexible on less important stuff like me. I don’t think such extremity is normal.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/25 05:51 PM

I prefer to lead and I lead in all the mentioned areas, but I don’t really consider most of what you wrote leading. Half of what you wrote falls on the woman in Asian dynamics normally I think. I make the final call whenever there’s a decision to be made.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/25 05:30 PM

Nah. You look good enough to pass most people's looks bar facially still. Work on your RMV. You getting cosmetic procedures would probably decrease your RMV actually.

We are currently located on the opposite ends of the country, and we are planning to move back to Asia together. However, due to us being from different Asian countries, the legalities are a bit messy. We really are trying hard to combine our lives atm.

Both Eastern men and women can be naggy and controlling, but it is because we all tend to have the "I can fix that" or "Let's fix that" mindset.

Well... I did include in the original comment that she likes his old photos which is achievable by losing weight. She too cares about physical attraction. Your experiences happened because they thought they could just disregard such thing. This acquaintance does care and knows she cares, so she is trying to get him back to his non-fat state together.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/25 06:43 PM

Westerners are so different when it comes to this. It is still giving someone an opportunity and support to improve/change. It is not like he has zero chance of achieving what she was more than attracted to.

I did mention that some PPD folks would call this controlling, but I did not put in the original comment that he is currently making a halfassed attempt. Goes to work out but not often enough but still only eats salad at night.

In my culture, it used to be the norm for the women to make their man look presentable. It is more of a recent phenomenon to desire a "completed version" and that their man should be doing these things on their own.

No If your goal was marriage then yeah I would say so I now think so but the number differs for each person imo. How strong one's defense mechanism gets due to previous failures and not being able to give the benefit of the doubt is my metric, not an actual number that applies to everyone. And such limit could be extremely low for some.

Probably would depend on how she feels about the whole thing. I have asked my boyfriend to not buy any fashion items for me though.

I think this opinion is based. However 6’5+ guys have their share of height fetishists so they are far from doomed. Probably still an advantage since there should be a strong niche market. I do agree with the general appeal part. Taller than 6’4” is beyond +2SD so I believe it registers as abnormal, and people probably can sense what’s abnormal.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/01/25 11:28 PM

People seem to find their partners by their mid 20’s at the latest in general and then get married in their late 20’s. And no, these women/men did not “have their fun in their youth”.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/01/25 08:48 AM

People probably don't ask for n counts straight up, so you don't get to just lie. You can basically get an idea from his lifestyle, his friends and his family members' lifestyle and reactions. My boyfriend's friends' dating history and their reactions confirmed what I believed to be true.

/r/PurplePillDebate18/01/25 03:06 PM

You’d probably be surprised to hear that we both are good looking especially by Asian standards though. We are Asian. He has women cold approaching or dropping signs from time to time in the west and all the time in Asia and paired up Asian women calling him handsome all the time. I talk about him here cause PPD would find it not meaningful at all for a woman to talk about her experiences.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/01/25 02:43 PM

Probably not THAT high, and such feeling was probably mutual. We first met back in high school, and I just happened to catch my boyfriend's eyes all the time, but it wasn't anything crazy at first. On my end, I realized he liked me eventually, and I genuinely asked myself whether I'd able to kiss him or not. It wasn't even close to oh I'm insanely attracted to him. We find each other very attractive now though.

I know a middle aged woman who was left like that. The husband quit his job to become a doctor, and the wife worked at a sushi restaurant and paid for him and their 4 children. It took him 14 years to get into a med school. Right after he did, he asked her for a divorce saying that he wants to pursue a relationship with his first love who came back into his life.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/01/25 06:45 AM

Maybe or fund partially. I am not completely against the idea. I might have him agree to follow my prescriptions of surgeries and nothing more though.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/01/25 10:35 PM

I’m a Zillennial and that’s how it works and has worked around me. I second your suspicion. It is quite normal for women to not take the initiative to not appear easy and to confirm a man’s interest towards her. I think sexually open women could be a lot more forward.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/01/25 07:56 PM

Being indiscriminate with your desire is still not a virtue. A positive outcome came out of having relatively indiscriminate desire. However, having virtue is about displaying high moral standards. There is no morality in what's naturally given. Virtue is about conscious choice.

I don't think women usually get with their tunnel vision guy, but with the first guy who is among the guys she thinks are good enough and has made the move. Women are not that proactive, and take a way more passive role in dating for your scenario to work for the majority of the time. Not saying that it does not happen. But I do agree with the last paragraph. The guy already has to have to be deemed good enough.

I tried. I am just wired wrong. I can dress feminine and cook, but I am just wired different internally.

Young people have more circumstantial virgins that just didn't lose their virginity yet. Intentional virgins exist. Many of them most likely won't be kissless though.

For me, there was a location factor. In multicultural cities, it's been fine. In a predominantly white conservative town, I felt like a weird outlier.

They can do whatever. I am not scared of the results or the results being revealed to my boyfriend. It is whether he thinks he can give me the benefit of the doubt based on what he thinks of me. His family members are not him, and were strangers at the time they asked.

PEOPLE, I have finally found a hairdresser in one more city. Think it was the fourth one we've tried in this particular city. Been looking for like 1.5 yr.

I think I could take it if it was to prove myself to someone else other than my boyfriend preferably a person not knowing much about my character already. Like if it was his grandmother or his grandfather especially if their family had something to protect, I would. I would keep a courteous relationship with them afterwards too. It is crucial that the people who directly form very close relationships with me to value me for my character first and foremost, and I do not want to be questioned on t…

He has admitted in the past that she also has to have above average face or something. It can't just be a healthy chick.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/01/25 08:48 PM

Asian beauty standards are on another level, and having grown up with literal models in my family probably doesn't help either. Along with a lot of families I grew up around having successful dads with pretty wives.

All this club talk has reminded me that I actually want to experience clubbing at least once before I really age out of it. My first 2025 new experience plan.

u/Dry-Ad3452 I can't reply below you for some reason. I wasn't talking about you. Virgin has a very strong connotation imo especially at her age. And your dating market shifts quite a bit depending on how prudish you are. And her n-count makes her an extreme outlier in the market she probably wants to date in.

This has got to be a troll.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/01/25 07:18 PM

In my culture too. I think.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/01/25 07:11 PM

Just don’t go for guys who would prefer prudes. Your n-count has initially suggested that you could be a prude. You just probably aren’t, and that’s that. Nothing wrong with it.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/01/25 07:10 PM

The interesting thing I’ve learned in my culture is that while those clubbing people do become bfs/gfs/husbands/wives, it is almost always a horrible idea for them to meet each other at the club for the first time.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/01/25 07:06 PM

I have about half your kiss count and my LTR count is about the same. It isn’t just about the count is what I am saying.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/01/25 07:00 PM

How casually you kissed does not match up with your n-count is probably their problem. Very different image for each.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/01/25 06:45 PM

I think it is an opportunity to make a special moment with someone special. But it is not the end of the world if it is not with someone that special either. I don't regret my first kiss but my boyfriend really treasures his first kiss.

It is more grownup for him to correct himself than for me to correct him. Just own up beforehand. Btw, I correct him cause I plan to spend the rest of my life with him and have kids with him. How parents act must align with how we want our kids to act. I would not correct him and dispose of him eventually if I didn’t want him as a part of my family. Also explaining shouldn’t be making excuses, cause it makes one look like a little kid without agency.

I think around n-2 is what’s usually the most desired among mid and maybe late twenties. But not necessarily the count itself, but her actions being only have had sex within LTR’s and reasonable and predictable LTR history.

Yeah 5% are attractive enough to be called attractive by definition imo. 15% are attracted enough to be called above average by definition. Who I find attractive personally? Oof. I want to clone my mom.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/25 03:50 AM

But 15% is honestly too board for me personally. The people I grew up around skewed my perception.

Finding them visually appealing is different. Aren't you able to tell that some male actors are attractive too? I think about 15% of each gender clearly look above average using the bell curve. The rest are average or below average.

Only works when there's an "oh wow" moment or something of the sort that makes you look at the person in a different light imo.

It is just a classic prisoner’s dilemma. In this scenario, keep playing the game, become so attractive that you can take yourself off the game and still win or dumpster dive (basically take advantage of smv), or just quit playing the game. It is what it is. I don’t like the current dating norms for my own reasons, but an individual cannot change the whole market.

Hygiene, weirdo to not meet them. Grooming, I think the vast majority of people should take more advantage of. It is way beyond the realm of “reasonable” or “acceptable” to me. It is totally something to be utilized. Just “get a haircut” is not that effective imv. There are styling methods to trick our eyes like with optical illusions, and these methods can balance out your features up to a certain point. This can really help unless you have significantly detrimental feature beyond balancing out…

Idk I think your problem is more with other men tbh, cause the expectations that you speak of mostly exist cause men offer them, and you end up doing it too. There’s no reason for women to expect or want less when there’s so many guys just plainly offering.
