I think one reason why this will keep kn happening is because men are usually not called out like that in real life because of fear what the guy would do. I applaud you for being brave and giving him a reality check!

There’s a sub called entitled bitch... why am I not surprised. Edit: there’s no entitled men. Guess it’s because they don’t exist. /s

When her son said he came home and the step father changed the locks... that he has no single item of her to remember her with. And that abomination of a human being so proud that he has her ashes and not her son... he’s something else. Definitely felt he was guilty!

Dick is abundant and of low value. If that’s all you have to offer, I’ll politely decline.

Met a guy earlier last year. Told him I wanted to get a dog from the shelter. He goes to the shelter with me. I walked my dog regularly so I know he’s a bit over excited. Guy wants to give him a treat and all of the sudden says the dog bit him. He barely nipped because he was overly excited and grubby. I laughed. At him. Every time he brought it up. Dog is mine now. Dude just messaged me he is gonna marry the girl he met in January who clearly only wants a European citizenship. I understand her.…

One thing I learned is I’d rather be alone than in bad company. But you’ll find out yourself in the long run. Keep them as long as you need. Hugs from afar.

Most are cheap and not used to paying to impress. They re not big on the chivalry ladder and mostly think talking is the equivalent of actions. Sad, really.

Two things you need to internalize. Being on this sub will help you. 1. They always come back 2. When they do, you don’t want them anymore Please take a few minutes to reflect on what this guy did. He chose OLD before you. He chose the opportunity to meet women (a lot of them bots / scammers who try to get money through easily gullible men) over YOU. It’s clear from your writing alone that you are emotionally invested. Tried to make him happy, be there for him, chose to spend your time with him.…

Is it such a novelty to want to be the only partner of your lover? I really hate that we are conditioned to think that it’s not our right to expect decency these days. You did nothing wrong. It doesn’t matter if he’s fresh out of a relationship or not. You were there for him and he took that for granted. Be glad you know who he is now.

Of course it’s okay to stay in good terms. But what I gather from your responses is that you are more concerned about what he thinks of you than what you feel. You are hurt and rightfully so. Don’t stay friends with him. You don’t owe him anything that makes you miserable. I understand you. BUT: Put yourself in his shoes for a minute. If you did to him what he did to you, dating him and stringing him along, then deciding you want to go on a dating app but not tell him. Would you think of yoursel…

Why so hostile? Girl, this thread is about an excerpt of the book mentioned in the title. Please don’t take it personally, it wasn’t meant like that. In „Gone Girl“ the phenomenon of a Woman created by men through their eyes is unpacked until there’s nothing more than: this idea of a woman is created by men to be sold to the masses so girls know to be nothing more than a mirror to men’s wishes. The cool girl described in the book doesn’t do these things because she’s passionate for football and …

Ugh, I’m currently giving up sweets as well. Good analogy. So much temptation every day to break down just to feel something but you’ll feel bad afterwards. It’s just not worth it.

Nah, I keep records and hold others accountable as much as I do myself. Also I don’t think not being kind enough is my problem. I don’t make excuses for others anymore and my life changed for the better. Replacing my name with the word love screams like a pick me.

As much as I love this sub, I can’t even replace my name with love.

Also: if he hasn’t made a respectable name for himself in his industry by 30, he probably will never. You have to be real with yourself at some point in your life. Leaving your 20’s is a good time to stop dreaming.

I understand you! Here’s hat I did: Every time you feel the urge to text him, read his messages and then think of the dissonance between his words and his actions towards you. Talk is cheap but do you really want to invest more time and feelings into someone who acted towards you like you are not worthy of his full attention? How would you feel towards him if this never changes? Spoiler: It won’t. His nice words are an act to get him what he wants. Nothing more. You are worth more than just bein…

Or even disguising as a guy interested in dates. Only after we chatted for a week he told me about his partner he is about to marry and wants to join. Nah dude, bye!

Also half German here. Last guy I dated called his mom in front of me to complain about his roommate because he washed his shirts wrong. He sounded like a child. Spoiler: he is one. 😂🤷🏼‍♀️
