I love this, I'm saving it to read in the future! Now that covid restrictions are easing up I'm considering getting myself back out there. It's true, you know you did something right when the abusers aren't happy lol.

I always wonder, do they realize if they actually were women, and they were having all this crazy sex with hundreds of men, the majority of these strangers wouldn't give an F about making sure they got their orgasm as women? And it's not 1-2-3 to have an orgasm as a woman either? Welcome to the wonderful world of being used as a masturbation aid, scrotes! You are now subhuman to half the population, have to succeed and navigate life with that same population outside of having sex, and won't enjo…

My ex was an ex chef and extremely independent. Cooked breakfast and dinner for me daily when we lived together, kept his home tidy, kept his body up, maintained his hygiene, handled the physical aspects of our relationship (car/house maintenance, bills, finances), and generally improved my life. I have dated men before him that were bad with money and messy; it gave me anxiety to watch them handle their lives. It is incredibly unsexy when a man isn't independent. It makes me think of little boy…

Thank you! I don't need constant reminders about how depraved men are. If the goal of FDS was to focus on negative male behavior we would all just be in a relationship with a LVM.

I could have written most of this myself. I'm so proud of you, we're all so proud of you, and I hope you're proud of you, too. You did it all yourself, and you survived. After everything you're been though, you made it. You deserved all of the good the world has to offer, and the life you were given to start with is not a reflection of that love and care you were entitled to as a young person. I hope you continue to flourish as you work hard for the life you deserve. ❤

Thank you lol. Also fits: The more advertising (convincing/love bombing/"giVe Him a cHaNcE!!"/"CoMmUNiCaTe yOu Don'T wAnT HiM to sMeaR hiS sH*t oN yOuR tHinGs!!") someone needs for us to invest in them, the more suspicious I get. All those processed foods and drinks that are expending so much effort to get us to buy them, versus spinach which doesn't get any ad time but we all know is one of the healthiest things you can eat.

You should tell her to have them write it down in her chart that they said it was nothing and didn't do further testing. It's usually enough to push a doctor to do something because they could be on the hook when it turns out she's been right this whole time.

I don't. How I think of a dynamic between two individuals (in any relationship, platonic or not) is like a dish. There are all different kinds of ingredients (people) in the world, and some people go amazingly together, some are just okay together, and some have no business even being on the same plate as one another. Every single person is so nuanced and different that no two relationships will be the same, but there is always potential to find a new delicious unique combination with another pe…

That's why we use FDS. Really, many people are self serving. We must do the same by protecting ourselves by ruthlessly vetting until we find the person who proves themselves repeatedly to us, and then we can let them in slowly and little by little as our trust grows.

The most annoying men are men that try to pit you against your friends. Men have given me eyes before approaching and then say something flirtatious to a friend I'm with, then try speaking with me a little after. They really think they aren't wildly transparent and we would want to be with anyone that would use our friends as inanimate stepping stones for us to touch their d*cks. I don't know how they came to the conclusion disrespect is something we would want.

To take care of your body and appearance will give you an advantage at the workplace and boost your confidence. I dress not only professionally, but with clothing that looks good on me. I don't mean in a sexual sense, I mean that I coordinate my outfits by color, cut, style, texture, pattern, and material, from my hairstyle down to my shoes; I have a reputation for being extremely well dressed and put together at work. I feel so bad she felt the need to try and apologize for not saying her first segment 'nicer.' She didn't insult anyone, she said she felt tired of protecting the very group of people that hurt her. It's the same as when a person of color explains why something a white person said was racist and they start crying. Instantly the person of color looks like the bad guy and the person who's actually doing wrong gets coddled for getting upset and their feelings get prioritized over the person who was…

I mean at least we can see clearly now. I briefly dated a man who was actually very respectful and had a lot of green flags, but the timing was wrong for us to date. I believe they're out there, and I know I'll be okay whether or not I end up with a good man. It's about keeping in mind it's a numbers game, always continuing to vet, prioritizing ourselves, and leaving at the first sign of trouble. I mostly take comfort in the fact that I very likely will never fall victim to dating a poorly behav…

It can be stomach churning to realize what the men around you actually think. I work almost entirely with men and have quietly smiled my way into being "one of the cool women." They joke about cheating on their wives, joke about stereotypes, I've heard a man who I thought was more upstanding very offhandedly call a woman who was simply "not warm" a bitch. I've also become friendly with a group of younger men (early 20s) at my job, and every once in a while they make misogynistic jokes or talk ab…

I feel for the woman. I was surrounded by people with a "sex positive" mindset as an impressionable forward thinking college student, and since then the lies about the industry have only become more pervasive. I had to learn about FDS and why the sex industry was harmful or I never would have known. All she's guilty of is believing what everyone told her is true.

I think my point is that we won't see the real change in our life times. Men will continue being as gross as they always have been for millennia, and to think we're undoing thousands of years of misogyny in a few decades is not going to happen. We can continue to work towards it, but acting like small scale retaliation in everyday life will do anything for us personally is unrealistic. I'm totally aware they see me as weaker and they expect me to crumble without them, but that's the point. I kno…

Best sex I ever had was with an ex that didn't like to watch p×rn (he told me it made him feel less 'manly'). When he really started to fall in love with and prioritize me, it got to the point he would wait until I woke up to have sex with me just to give me an orgasm and then rush off without orgasming himself because he'd be late to work otherwise. I would climax so hard I was seeing stars those mornings. Skip the men who watch p×rn, and skip the men who don't actually like you in the first pl…

Biologically, they are. And I don't think it's an engineered problem, I think it's been like this from the beginning of humanity. Men are historically trash. Femininity isn't dictated by men, it simply is. We are literally softer than men due to estrogen. We're less aggressive and physically weaker than men because factually we have less testosterone. I will never match up to a man physically because that's just what hormones have dictated, and I won't delude myself about that. At the same time,…

Men will always be on average physically stronger than us, bigger than us, more protective and territorial. That's what I like about them haha. If we're competing with men to be better "men," I think there's no winning, because it's like trying to be better at breathing in water as a bird when you're competing with fish. And what's more, what was ever wrong with being feminine? We as women have been pushed to 'act like men,' and that we 'can do it just like men can!' Society brainwashed us and to…

All props to u/SayNad ! I also saw this and thought it was important to highlight for the other FDS ladies. The comments section is so often filled with wisdom and answers a lot of us might resonate with and would benefit from hearing. And yes, this is important. We have to remember there really are a lot of low effort men out there, and it's not up to us to put up with their subpar behavior. I found a picture of myself a month before breaking up with a narcissistic ex: Dry skin, some dark circles, generally dull. Comparing to recent photos, the difference is shocking. I look like someone else, and so much healthier. I remember trying so hard to take care of myself to live up to his standards, too. I ate right and exercised when I was with him; now I do less, keep the weight off much easier and my skin is back to its usual beautiful condition just because of the lack of him stressing…

Yes, I found her through my insurance and everything. She didn't make it past our first meeting, but it's worrisome to know she's practicing. I've definitely "interviewed" therapists --and even unfortunately saw therapists when I was young and didn't know better-- who should absolutely not be in the field they're in. Make sure you vet your therapist. Ask them why they got into their field, what they would be doing instead if they didn't pursue therapy, what their approach to therapy is, what they specialize in and why. Even the best therapist might not be the right one for you. Therapy is a super intimate form of healing and feeling comfortable and safe with the person you will be going forward with is important. It's reinforcing those urges that we as society recognize as wrong. R÷pe, ch÷ld abuse, physical abuse disguised as 'kink'. They say as long as they don't actually act on these thoughts, it's fine, but choosing to indulge and orgasm to these thoughts IS acting on them.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy14/07/21 05:20 AM
73

The weird thing is, people say as long as you don't act on strange urges, it's fine to have them and let it pass. But masturbating to these urges/"fantasies" IS acting on them and actively reinforcing them. Just because you're not the one doing the deed doesn't mean you're not feeding into it.

Do it. It's really liberating. And the cool thing about muay thai is it's the best for offense, as opposed to karate or tae kwon do. Be careful with getting hit in the head, as that can have lasting negative effects on your brain. Jiu jitsu is the best for defense because it's all about technique and has little to do with actual strength (no hitting, as well). The classes can be a little uncomfortable in how close you have to get to other people (classes usually only have one or two other women …

No, certain things are deal breakers. In a conflict when you're judging and comparing the person is a totally different arena than having moral basis, which is more about wanting to think the same way as another person, rather than pick them apart for something that's inherent in their character. And if there is something you inherently disagree with morally, than it is probably a good indicator of incompatibility in the first place --who wants to date/marry a guy who has totally different moral…

Yeah, I figure it's a safer way to filter them out, as the discriminatory/hostile men will usually swipe left off the bat and the fetishists usually show their asses early on, like "hAvE u EvER BeeN wiTH A wHitE gUy BeFoRe?" Or lead off with some awkward racially charged introduction. You will be surprised to find how hard your eyes can roll when some of these men openly approach you from a fetishizing mindset.

I know this is hard, but you deserve to feel safe in your own home. This isn't normal. I'm sorry your parents would treat you that way. It sounds very invalidating, but they are responsible for protecting you. Go to your school if you have to if you think your parents turn you away. I would be nauseated for you if they also did nothing. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. This is awful. You must be terrified. I assume you're young and still living with your parents. Are they supportive people? Maybe you can sit them down and explain what's happened. Therapy sounds in order for your brother, and I hope your parents will get it for him. You might feel better having a therapist yourself going forward. I hope a trained therapist or psychologist can chime in, but my suggestion seems like the logical choice from my veiwpoint.

What people fail to realize is those little things speak way more to who a person is. Those thought processes go so much deeper than, "The only thing that bothers me is he does X!" What kind of partner doesn't care about your abortion? You taking on all the housework? You being the only one to look after the kids? Not doing the single thing you ask of him? All of these "one little things" have roots so much deeper than that one behavior they'll acknowledge is wrong. My heart aches for them.

I'm pretty liberal as it gets, but cancel culture is killing free speech. People think just because they don't agree with someone or a comedian makes a certain off color joke, it's time to cancel them, or, really, silence them. It's good that we're becoming conscious of the effect we have on others, but the phrase, "If it's mentionable, it's manageable," comes to mind. If we suppress freedom of speech, the dredges of society congregate in the shadows, like 4chan etc. We stop examining ourselves.…

I've put money on the table and left company sitting in a restaurant. The police won't appear at the doors to guide you back to your seat. There is no obligation to stay, especially when your date isn't doing it for you. Ripping off the bandaid also has the added benefit of, in my experience, offending the man so much he will almost certainly not seek you out again, deterring any stalkerish behavior, or "but WhhYyYy?" texts when you break it off if you stay for the date.

Imo, women have an obligation to get the absolute best partner, especially if they plan to have children with them. If you want to have children with a man who can't support all of you that's your prerogative, but innocent lives are disadvantaged by your decisions.

I don't know if shaming should be the right word. I think it should be discouraged. It literally does nothing for a woman besides make her vulnerable. There is 0 benefit for a woman to send a naked photo besides pandering to a man, and really, the male gaze over all. I don't know if you've read the FDS Handbook, but it is required reading before posting or commenting on this sub.

If you have an emergency that threatens a population, and you have a choice to save 100 people, you save the women first. Why? Because if you save 99 men and 1 woman, your population will never recover. If you save 99 women and 1 man, you can easily regenerate the population. Dick is low value, and anyone who thinks otherwise is deluded.

Honestly. I took a class on early humanity and women were perceived as gods because we could create and grow life in ourselves, but I guess men always had an inferiority complex so they had to control and bring us down a peg with anything they could. There are laws to prevent the worst of it in first world countries but we all know that those don't work all the time and men are always finding ways around them. There's so much more to this but I just got my nails done and it's a pain to type very…

I think it's men being men, but it's society's/social conditioning's job to reign in those animal instincts. We're higher than other animals because there's a layer of control we possess to veto those base impulses, and any excuses alluding to "being unable to control [one's self]" in regards to sexual harassment/rape/misconduct are manufactured to benefit the defense (aka men >99% of the time), and a lot of pro-male predation ideologies are supported by religion and, consequently, society. That…

I think about the language people use to insult each other. "Suck my [dick/balls]," "fuck you," "he got screwed." Anytime someone is referring to a sexual act it's meant to be a negative when referring to non-sexual situations. How does that actually translate subconsciously especially in a man's head when referring to acts in an actually sexual situation?

I got into a discussion over this with a man. His point: "Well, money isn't everything! What about personality?!" And I was like, "Okay, so I'm supposed to drive out under a bridge and find a homeless man to date as long as he's got a good personality? " He didn't have anything to say to that.

FDS made me realize just how convinced society had me that I was straight. 9 times out of 10 it's a woman I'm attracted to and once in a while I'll see a man who I'm attracted to. Literally without FDS I would never have realized I was mostly attracted to women and I would've kept forcing myself to date awful men not realizing I should be attracted to all of the people I was dating. FDS genuinely changed the trajectory of my life for the better.

Right now with the pandemic it's not very advisable, but once everything is 'normal' again, this is my recommendation: You have to meet people outside. Frequent libraries (great on a budget and they usually have a lot of fun activities and events!), take classes or lessons in things that interest you (glass blowing, dancing, metal working, advanced knitting/crocheting, painting, cooking), join a running/cycling/exercise group, join a local community sports league, go to comedy or music/jazz club…

I know, it's literally part of the rules of posting on FDS. And I may have responded bluntly, but I'm not being rude, so 🤷‍♀️ I'm trying to be considerate by not flagging OP's post even though it really kind of should be. I'm glad FDS is growing and reaching more women, but a lot of these posts from people who clearly didn't read the handbook bog down progress for everyone else, especially since it's a requirement before posting. I've stopped watching romance films entirely because it seriously just isn't real. Men don't operate like they do in the movies and it places an unhealthy importance on romantic relationships like a woman's world begins and ends with a penis. There's a whole planet for me to travel and friends to make and experiences to have, what an absolute waste to spend my one finite human existence on this planet begging for scraps of attention from someone who makes my life worse.

I was illustrating the quotes which lead me to belive you hadn't read the handbook. You're totally right in that we should not expect to find a HVM or a relationship with one, but at the same time, I reiterate: The whole point of FDS is to only secure a healthy relationship with a man who is capable of being in one. Not struggling with men who have proven they are not. Now it isn't feasible with COVID, but dating multiple men at any given time and cutting off suitors at the first inkling of bad …

...I have noticed that when you give men any extra before exclusivity is established, they begin to feel entitled to it and eventually take it for granted. Giving men anything extra before exclusivity is established is not recommended in the handbook for reasons the text covers. ...vetting definitely helps, but it isn’t always a guarantee, unfortunately. I would advise all women to vet, but I don’t think it’s fair to place the onus on women who have yet to secure healthy relationships with decen…

The people who don't like you gaining boundaries are the ones who were benefitting off of you having none. And being feminine doesn't mean having no emotional boundaries. A person who would dump their emotional issues on someone else is inherently unhealthy and shouldn't be in a relationship but instead working on themselves internally. It's not about being lucky, this is why we vet.

I've seen members of FDS complain about our anger on other threads and citing it as a reason for leaving the sub, and I always wonder if they realize women are allowed to be angry. Women shouldn't be shamed for misguidedly buying into liberal feminist sex positivity. On average EMTs make $15 dollars an hour, and the average OnlyFans content creator makes only and extra $200 dollars a month. You're focusing on the fact that she was trying to make extra money instead of a man using his journalistic advantage to ruin her income prospects, no less in extremely financially unstable times for everyone.

The point of this post though is that we don't hate men, we are just angry at the way we've been treated. It's that we don't hold them accountable, but do hold the people they abuse (aka mostly women) accountable. Even the cry of, "Men get raped, too!" An extremely emotional and indignant white man sobbing and screaming on the platform of the world because he was pegged as a rapist, and just about half the US somehow felt sympathy for him while tearing down a woman who had nothing to gain and everything to lose by coming forward. Then people harassed her out of her own home afterwards even though Brett Kavanaugh won and was passed anyway and she gained nothing. To be…

It's interesting, society is tasked with healing and validating the survivors, but there is hardly any discourse of what we have to do to prevent these things from happening in the first place. That would mean putting the work on the abusers --the vast majority of them men-- to change instead of giving victims another support group, essentially putting the labor on the victims to do the work to heal instead of policing abusers to not abuse. Managing the symptoms instead of curing the illness.

Women were considered property of their families them their husbands less than 100 years ago. They were at the mercy of the men around them in pretty much every sense of the word. Incels have floated the idea that women should be distributed as sex slaves because they 'deserve to have sex too.' So they're sure trying to enslave us (again). 🤷‍♀️

Yeah. The premise itself wasn't bad, as it was a sequel and following one of the side characters from another novel. It was supposed to be, "This man loved me in the past, I can learn to trust him again" sort of line of thought, but it came off as how I described it, which is unfortunate because the premise itself had great potential (learning to trust again after trauma) and the author is good at writing besides how she handled this imo. It was just really executed poorly. It felt the author di…

This is why I prefer my lover's penis on the slightly smaller side. If they're too wide or long and they're thrusting hard it hurts. The best sex I've ever had was a man that was just long enough to touch my cervix and not even a little bit longer. When he was thrusting quickly I wasn't getting stabbed in the cervix and there was the golden ratio of friction that wasn't overwhelming bc he wasn't wildly thick, either. We could go for hours because his penis didn't wear me out and he took a while …

Yeah, I used to be really into romance novels and came across a book I really liked. It's like the deepest level of making women into objects by making women belive it, too. Your body should be sacred to you. You will never get another one and it's yours and yours alone. In my opinion, I don't think BDSM could exist without the culture we have. "Whore," "cumslut," "bitch," "dirty." In a context out of the bedroom, these words are for insulting women. Dog collars and leads are popular, reducing someone to a lowly animal. Hitting women and tying them up are ways to take away someone's autonomy and degrade them. It's all a mirror of misogyny and playing into these roles that people maybe really psychologically buy into deep down, women from self hatred and men from…

And just because something was said in the heat of the moment and wasn't premeditated doesn't take away from the fact that they hurt and should never have been said in the first place. No o…

I use to think about this a lot, and have found an answer via therapy. The way it's supposed to look in healthy relationships is that if one party has an issue, that issue can be brought up and together you're able to meet a compromise, the person is able to change their behavior, or partners can soothe one another's issues with words or actions. Kind things done for one another isn't related to meeting each other's needs. Ex: "Hey, John, I'm feeling like I'm not being reciprocated in the relati…

The question that FDS made me ask myself when I first joined that turned my world upside down, was why something like BDSM would arouse me. Why did I want anyone to treat me that way? Why did I want to be hit, talked down to, and abused? The answer was because BDSM was recreating a "safe space" to re-experience past trauma, and to relive it on my terms, minimizing it. I could reframe that trauma. "Being treated this way before wasn't so bad!" I have control over this narrative. Before, I was a p…

Yes. It makes me think of Cyntoia Brown. You get sold to a pedophile, you're a literal sex slave as a child and you get sentenced to 53 years for killing one of the monsters who is your captor and abuser and raping you? What did the original judge and jury want her to do, "CoMmUniCaTe?" My point is that you might be projecting your behavior onto his. In countries where prostitution is legal (and plenty where it is illegal, I guess), they can pay to have a person provide sexual acts. In countries where it isn't, people with disabilities who don't have access to sexual partners have a comparative life span. Sex is not a need, it is a desire.

I think the point is that men weaponize it against women, in that they use it as an excuse to cheat or commit cheating adjacent behavior. If it's irreconcilable and they've worked together to try and find a solution between them and weren't able to meet a middle ground, a couple should be calling it quits, not forcing their partner to do something they don't want to or going behind their back to cheat.

It's about set up and context. If a comedian is on a steady stream of jokes, people would likely laugh at this sort of punchline. If you're doing something Hannah Gadsby-esque, it would likely be implied during some parts of the standup that you shouldn't be laughing. It's the one publicized account in a decade, if they didn't have this they would have to cling to the faceless and comparably measly statistics of female on male violence. Plus, it looks bad if they hate women for no real reason, but LV men don't have to hold up the mask of not hating women with Amber Heard. These men have a female target who they have free agency to hate because of the allegations, so society won't care if they set their treatment to 100% loathing. Wonder where all those men we…

I don't think these specific men understand how the world works. Maybe stuck in an infantilized/ultra self centered mode of life, since they clearly have no real world experience around women as people and not just dick targets. They're so massively bitter with strangers over the internet they'll never meet and have nothing to do with their real lives anyway. Why don't you just, like, get a therapist, bro?

It is conditioning. When you watch p0rn, the steps go: See a woman on the screen Masturbate to completion. These men are Pavlov'ing themselves to have the urge to orgasm whenever they see a woman because that's what they conditioned their bodies to do. Of course they think they "nEeD To oRgAsM," their bodies have gotten used to that exact pattern and is not used to not orgasming.

Give her the FDS Handbook and hope for the best. Support her on the sidelines if you want to, but otherwise let go of the idea that you can make changes in anyone's life for them. Your sister is an adult, you can't make her do anything if she doesn't want to, even if it's for her own good. Even if you do make a little headway by being really explicit in what the dynamic is, she will default to him and you will feel exasperated about something that isn't in your control. You could look into menstrual discs if cups didn't work for you. They don't rely on suction and it feels like they're not there when you're using them. The large and medium ones have a much higher capacity than cups so I end up emptying mine when I wake up and when I come home from work in the shower --removal can be messy, though I've only used it for two cycles so I'm not an expert with it. Even on my heaviest two days I just use my disc in combination with a washable panty liner or pad (becau…

Isn't it funny how men trash one another for feeling sad or lonely or crying or talking about any feelings of affection or love for either family, friends, or romantic interests? Then blame society for not being able to express themselves, but it's only men. They're the only ones doing it to themselves. Then liberal feminists took on the role of properly calling out this display of toxic masculinity of male on male minimization of emotions, but never have men gotten behind it. In this sense, it …

The people we love are supposed to be a balm on us from the world. We don't come home to be treated the same as any other people on the planet, but to treat each other as special and apart from the rest. That's the point of having a spouse. And why is he under the impression you need life lessons from him? Does he think you didn't navigate this world just fine before him and his "insightful lessons" to live by?

I think the best approach is pursuing activities where you're doing stuff you like i.e. a metal working class, dance class, chess club/debate club at your local library, comedy shows, fitness groups, etc. It shows initiative of someone pursuing their interests, having the money to fund them, and having hobbies similar to yours. That's my perception of the photo. If you think that my assessment is incorrect, you have a right to that. If you find it offensive, you have a right to that, as well. The baby in the photo is likely not a "cumslut" in any definition of the word, so I'm taking that as satire. Is a baby actively being harmed because of this stock photo with words on it? No. Sex positive, liberal feminist women often make the choice to buy and wear merchandise or overtly sexual clothing with "sex positive" message…

I understand that mindset and I agree that it's important to protect one another, but I think a photo with a baby and mother is rather harmless compared to the hate speech or truly abusive alternatives that are possible. In the end, FDS' whole mission is to include and protect women, and, imo, this is more a critique on the mindset of libfem ideology and its logic, rather than attacking the women themselves.

Honestly. FDS made it so clear that it's better to live in peace than to clamor over a dude who makes your life worse. Really, what am I getting? A weeping session once a week? Is this really how I want to spend my life? What exactly is so wrong about being relaxed but alone, instead of stressed and unhappy with someone else for the occassional string of good days? Nah, sis.

Imo, low value behavior is low value. Breaking hearts/getting your heart broken is inevitable and a part of putting yourself out there for anyone who dates but choosing to cheat is gross. 🤷‍♀️

If this were true men would be physically assaulting women out in the streets, in restaurants, in broad day light. They control their urges just fine if they perceive consequences for their actions or behind closed doors.

We were like this throughout until the situation dissolved months later, and up until we stopped seeing each other it got to the point where he was the one tapping out of sessions. This was after 5 YEARS of orgasmless sex with four different men over that time frame. Until I met him, I thought I couldn't clim…

It really isn't a matter of clothing, it's a matter of societal disrespect for an individual's right to not be attacked no matter what they're wearing. A naked man is just a naked man --his nudity is not an invitation to be anally raped by someone who might find him attractive-- but a naked woman is "asking for it." People wear bikinis to the beach and they cover up as much as a bra and underwear, yet no one is scandalized.

Yet your friend was still worthwhile at any weight. This isn't advocating that it's not important to be healthy, more that everyone has inherent worth because they're a person, and not because they're XYZ. The body positivity movement has become about being sexually consumable ("I'm still attractive!! People will still want to fuck me at this body shape or size!!") rather than about the value of a human being.

There's nothing degrading about or "un-feminist" about being the "first mate" to a "captain" who is actually doing what they're supposed to do. This is more what I'm referring to. The language of being secondary to him rather than a equal yet opposite component makes it sound like you're putting domestic labor as less-than compared to his, when often it is just as hard if not more difficult and draining.

Maybe Tomi is depressed? He should try being understanding and talk through it with her. He has to be supportive, we don't know what Tomi is going through right now. I mean, does the boyfriend have good intentions lol? Maybe Tomi and Delilah have known each other, discussed it, and just going to date one another. /r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/09/20 11:37 AM

But why do you consider that "first mate" work? Taking care of a child is a full time job, keeping a house clean with other people in it is a full time job, scheduling appointments and driving children around is a full time job. You are bringing equal value raising your children and being primarily present in their formative years as your husband is providing for you. You must not have experience in what you're saying if you don't value that as labor.

She was 18 when that got leaked. A high schooler. I was too young to have any opinion about it at the time, but why was society vilifying a teenager when her 30-something year old garbage boyfriend was having sex with her in the first place? You only have two options as someone who this has happened to: shy away and hide yourself, or own it and lean even harder into the "slut" narrative to garner some power out of the awful situation. She chose the latter and it's totally understandable.

Nobody is putting a gun to their heads. I think it's best to accept it even as a vetting opportunity. With regular interactions where he's doing things for you, does he get expectant? If yes, this man is probably emotionally unhealthy, sees love as something transactional, and should be avoided anyway. Not to mention that it's a taught component in the FDS Handbook as well (vetting to reciprocate love/sex/effort until they're proven HVM, that is.)

That would be amazing. I have to correct my own therapist when she encourages me to put up with shifty behavior. I get that it's her job to forgive and try to rehabilitate and be understanding of others but I don't have a degree and I wasn't born to sit here and forgive people who choose to do things that hurt me and give them their 15th chance to do it again.

I first stumbled on FDS when I read some comments disparaging it on another sub. I read the handbook within a week and have been on this subreddit pretty much exclusively since. Reading the handbook totally changed my mindset not only in dating, but in how I approach my life. FDS made me realize I put too much emphasis on relying on men for my self-esteem. Having corrected this, I'm happy to be totally single for the rest of my life. I have friends and family and pets for love, I can travel when…

They certainly exist. I was seeing someone for a bit and whenever he was having sex with other women, he was extra sweet to me. This otherwise reserved man would suddenly reach out to me constantly and he would cook me particularly nice meals. Now that I know the truth, looking back at the sudden spikes in lovely behavior makes my stomach turn. It sucks because I feel once I'm ready to date again I'll be wary of any sort of really kind and sudden gestures. Luckily I plan to stay single for a rea…

Someone wrote here on FDS that it doesn't matter if you love each other, it's how someone makes you feel. If you feel stressed out, if you feel unhappy because of your partner's behavior, if you experience worry, if you feel scared or nervous, if you feel pain (emotional or physical), it doesn't matter how much you love each other (this includes any relationship, platonic, romantic, familial, et cetera), ESPECIALLY after communicating these things and the behavior is not immediately worked on. I seem to find myself attracted to mostly blonds and red heads and occasionally men with high contrast of pale skin and dark features. It's often a case by case thing as well, some people just have that je ne sais quois. Height isn't wholly important to me, but they must be "bigger" than me. I'm not waifish or delicate and have a broad structure overall (a la Rhonda Rousey) and a man my height at 5'4" will almost always be smaller than me, and it takes away from the attraction on my end. Awful people are very selfish usually. They put themselves first in every situation because they don't care who they hurt, therefore they have an advantage that kind people don't. Stepping on others will always get you ahead, but kinder people don't have it in them to do that so we keep getting stepped on. Men have been culturally conditioned for selfishness/narcissism, and women for codependency and self sacrifice. Plus, men run society, so they will always be seen in a sympathetic light. Women…

There's also the tactic of using your feminine energy. If they're going to treat you like you're incapable, you can lean into it and let them do all the work you apparently aren't able to do. Let them feel masculine and in control all while giving yourself less work. Sheraseven1 on youtube has videos that explain it better than I can. And maybe, may be it would be worth it if they showed gratitude and celebrated us when they did. The man in the video cheated on a woman who did that all for him. There's a difference between understanding a person's plight and absolving them of the damage they cause. A person could be coping with their life via alcoholism but if they kill a family while drunk driving that doesn't mean they're not going to jail because they have depression. Chances are she caused a form of trauma to her children with her behavior. There are consequences as an adult when you don't deal with your personal problems in constructive ways, and her husband would not be to blame …

The only difference is at least you can choose to fix a house. People have to choose for themselves to be better and improve themselves and a partner can't do jack about it. STDs including lifelong ones like HIV, pregnancy, a total stranger maybe killing you, not knowing if they can help you monetarily with an abortion or raising a child, not knowing if you can trust this person to be a good parent, being tied to him for the rest of your life if you keep the baby, the risk of maybe having a special needs child needing to be taken care of monetarily for perpetuity with him, you're the only one going through pregnancy, you're the only one getting the abortion, and if …

Okay, but that's literally with anyone. Only someone's illogical pride or morals would get in the way of them agreeing to the same parameters --a million dollars properly invested is a get out of the rat race free card and anyone would be stupid to not take it. They're just upset no one would ever offer ten bucks to sleep with a man, much less a million.

Like don't they understand women seldom get anything out of sex with randos? Most men are awful in bed, he is almost 100% the only one orgasming in a ONS situation.

I agree. Don't explain that he needs to make plans in advance with you. A simple, "You didn't say anything and I got invited to something else so I said yes," is suffice. A HVM will come to that conclusion, and if he doesn't and you do have to tell him, you're going to be expected to hold his hand and guide him through everything you want him to do, and who wants that in a partner? Edited bc I can't read.

I think you have the potential to scare away an emotionally healthy man this way. Oversharing isn't just bad because it can be used against you, it's also a sign of poor boundaries to be doing this with any new relationship, including platonic. It's a red flag for anyone.

Yeah, pretty sure this is a form of gaslighting. It's meant to make you second guess yourself and keep you off balance from understanding normal interaction between people --then it becomes easy to make everything your fault.

I agree with you that if she can afford it, she should go, and I also agree that the child should come first. If mother and child will have a similar quality of life, why bother having the father around? Is that a good example for a child to grow up in an environment where his or her parents don't properly love each other or exhibit a healthy relationship? If they can manage an amicable split where both parents are involved, the child is cared for, and both parents are financially independent, t…

Is this a life threatening situation? Or is this something that has been happening over a course of 6+ years and she's asking directly for advice on the matter? No one is attacking or blaming OP in this post. This is honest and direct information. And yes, if the situation is not improving, it's time to stop misguiding her with well intentioned niceties like advising her to wait another six years for him to change. What would you have people tell her instead?

It's implied because she does everything in the relationship without him having to lift a finger --at the expense of her not getting what she really wants. He wouldn't be living in a house without her insistance, don't you think that's beneficial to him? He just had to sit there and she made all these moves to enrich both of their lives. Ergo, his convenience at the expense of not respecting her true desires and wants out of life, ergo not respecting herself. He can pay child support without hav…

Where is the shame? Did she call OP stupid or foolish? Or did she tell her it's not a good idea to do these things --mind you, OP isn't dead yet, she could potentially make these mistakes again, so the advice is still appropriate for "today." She also linked statistics to show OP there's nothing to be done about the current situation, and if she ever wants to be married, it has to be with someone else, and she will have to leave.

If I can't hit a stranger I certainly can't hit my own kids. If my husband and I can't hit each other, why would it be alright to hit my kids? Children are people. There are also studies that show it drops IQ points in developing brains. I grew up with it and all I felt was hatred and fear for my parents when they hit me, and I would never want a child to feel those sorts of toxic emotions. I don't plan on having children but hitting is a non-sequiter and primes a child for abuse as an adult. It…

This goes for friends and family, too. You can't save anyone, you can't control anyone, you can't make them do something even if it's for their own good. People have to make those internal and long lasting changes for themselves. That's why drug addicts have to go into rehab of their free will -- there is zero chance they'll get better if they're not willing to help themselves in the first place.

You're doing a great job with English! I know native speakers who can't write this well. I feel like a lot of people do keto and see the recipes with bacon on everything and loaded with cheese and think that's the only way to do it. My diet would be mostly low carb vegetables [spinach, kale, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, Swiss chard, avocados, bok choi, occasionally peppers, kabocha squash, etc., etc.], a chunk of meat, and fermented foods like kimchi and saurkraut I fermented myself,…

Low carb is probably the only thing that works for me health wise --the difference in my skin is astounding when I'm eating 80% low carb veggies and squash [spinach, kale, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, Swiss chard, avocados, bok choi, occasionally peppers, kobocha squash, etc., etc.] and 20% or so percent protein. I also feel great and full of energy and I get full a lot more quickly. There are people who react totally differently to different foods, but I've got to say going low carb…

He wasn't hurting when you were hurting, he was only hurting when he was hurting. He should've at least cared as much about you and your happiness as his, but yours was always on the backburner. He put himself first, and you put him first. Why does he get two people putting him first and you don't even have one? What about what you want? You only live once, is that what you really wanted for the rest of your life? Excuses and someone who was willing to disappoint you year after year because they…

She's probably only into it because it gives her control over a similar situation like when she was being sexually abused as a child. Now she has power, she gets to choose to be abused, not have it forced on her. Theres something called "revisting trauma," which she's most likely doing. I suggest letting her do what she wants because at the end of the day you can't control people, even if it's for their own good. Take a deep breath, take a big step back, and let your friend handle her own life w…

Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen, s u n s c r e e n . The sun AGES you. I can image that in the Midwest with the drier climate and more common outdoor activities, this is magnified significantly. I use a good European brand daily and reapply like clockwork when I'm outdoors. European brands have higher standards and American brands don't protect against UVA sunbeams (which I don't understand and is stupid, but don't ask me, just buy European sunscreen). Take care of your skin militantly. Moisturi…
