I'm 18 months into the divorce and I can tell you, you never find that peace. You just slowly drown out the thoughts with other things. Healthy things, preferably. It takes a lot of time, but I denied and denied everyone who said I'd get better, and they were right. You will too. The stages of grief are not linear. You'll move forward and backward a lot.

What moron gets into a relationship with a woman who is still married?

I'm more than likely going to get primary custody, so that should help to cut them out of the picture altogether.

If you do it, you're signing your own death warrant. We're not jaded, our eyes are opened. When you're young you believe things will work out because nothing has hurt you yet. Then it happens and you realize that people will always look for ways to hurt you your entire life. Learn this: You are never the exception. Never.

No one who is willing to destroy a child's family for sex is going to be good to the child.

Yep, exactly. My wife is claiming that she "just wanted out" and that its totally fine to do that. First of all, it isn't Just because the law won't stop you doesn't mean it's perfectly fine for you to get bored and destroy a family. But now, because she's not at fault for leaving, she is the victim because she doesn't have any money and expected the judge to make me pay her to be alive. She's learning now (and will continue) that she isn't as entitled as she thought.

Nah. After seeing what women are capable and willing to doing out of anger, I hate women. They don't have a moral compass. If you anger them, they are your enemy no matter how evil they have to be.

Oh god mine couldn't do math under pressure to save her life so she'd just hand it to me. I became her father. She couldn't handle finances or legal papers or anything. I took over everything administrative in our lives and she was just fine being a little passenger princess. Now she's "a strong independent woman." Bitch you live in your mom's basement and have zero bills.

Women are inherently selfish creatures. When it comes to mating, they go full instinct. So do men, in many cases. The difference is that the fallout of women following their instincts is far more detrimental to society than when men do.

My ex is doing the same thing. She is having her lawyer spam mine with crap (Though OC is a very new lawyer and is getting emotionally invested in the case.) My lawyer just forwards it on to me and I ignore it. I've told my lawyer I'm not reading them anymore and to just delete them when they come. Ex wants me to rack up lawyer fees since the judge said I'm not paying hers.

Family will not believe she is a terrible person even if she conveniently moves in with the dude after divorce papers filed. Mattered to my judge. She wanted to destroy my wife for destroying a family. She moved across the state and refuses to come back so she's going to lose her kids.

I used to think how could anyone get divorced... that wouldn't happen to me. Your whole world gets smoked by a train at 200mph. It's like we're living in a simulation the way we've all thought and experienced this.

Right. Now that I have my kids I'll just file head of household anyway, so even the tax break from marriage is hardly a boon. Especially when compared to the cost of divorce.

Oh gosh, why didn't I think of that? I'll just go and make a girlfriend legitimate. It isn't viable for me. I'm 30 with two kids and I can't have more. Ex made me get sterilized before she left. I live in an area with absolutely zero people in my age range. I live in a touristy area in the midwest that has no jobs for young adults, especially women. I tried that. Met a girl back in January and started dating her. Things were great, but I realize now I was trying to replace what I had lost, and she wouldn't have been able to do that for me. he ended up completely ghosting me and I still to this day don't know why, though I suspect I was moving too quickly.

I mourn the death of that person I was. I miss the unfettered joy I was able to feel. I would come up with a cool movie idea and share it with her and talk about my day and think up plans for our future. Now I don't feel like sharing myself with anyone anymore. All I enjoy is seeing my kids smile and my bank account grow. I used to be so submissive and graceful to the people I'd meet. Now I stare through them and frown a lot more. I feel like I lost a limb. I'm sad to hear that. I'm only 14 months into the divorce, but I feel better now than before. Have you noticed that it has gotten at least a bit easier over time? For me, I had stages during the process that felt like healing milestones. I cycled back and forth through the stages of grief, but once I got used to waking up alone and expecting it, I eventually got through the denial phase. Then I eventually came to grips with (or became numb to) the feelings of pure anger from her affair. I had a …

I can't because I know what a huge toss of the dice marriage is and how fickle women are. My family all agrees that, if anyone was going to get divorced, it wasn't me. My marriage was perfect. We were so happy and we had everything. Everyone loved my wife. Now my brothers are starting to see that it doesn't always look bad before it breaks. I did too. I had to destroy my wedding photos after she left because the temptation to stare at them and sink into madness was ruining me, but man I remember how happy and nervous I was. It's the first thing that pops up when I googled it. Eternal Father, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself. Amen.

The judge will just make her quitclaim it to you if you want to keep it, or vice versa. If you both insist you don't want it (That would be very unwise) sell it and split the cost plus lawyer fees. Or they will make you sell it when your kids turn 18 and give her half. So you get to keep paying the mortgage and then she gets to collect on it. But that's hopefully enough time to find someone discrete and lacking a conscience to...remove that option.

My wife had every intention of faking a DV claim against me. I found the notes and web history on it. She waited too long, though. At our first hearing for temp motions, the judge said she found no evidence of abuse or neglect from either party and entered it as a fact of the trial. Not that it would have worked anyway. You don't voluntarily give your kids up every week to someone you think is abusive or crazy.

I barely did. I attempted four or five times. I lived every day in a complete daze. My whole body was numb from the depression and I could barely breathe. My mom came and lived with me for a bit and the VA stayed on me every day. Got me medicated and in regular therapy. All I could do was breathe and stay alive so that's all I did. 14 months later and I'm still sad and lonely, but I'm at least safe.

I'm 30. Things should be super easy, but of course I have two children. At this age, all the women who I'd be interested in have rushed into their first marriages and are having kids. The pickings are extremely thin. Dating apps are all fat chicks with three kids that think they're tens.

My lawyer asked my ex on the stand why we shouldn't adopt her parenting plan but reverse it so that she got one weekend a month and I got primary. Her response was, "Well, they're my kids so I should get them more." Judge nailed her to the wall for that and gave her temp 50/50 and no child support. Told her to get it out of her head that they are more hers than mine.

You could not have convinced me not to get married. Not even current me could go back in time and convince younger me. When we're in love, everything we know is the exception to every rule. Oh, it will get pointed out. She subpoenaed my military disciplinary records and plans to use them to argue my character or something. Thing is, after the military, she stayed married to me for three years, had another child, and bought a house. Well, we had a hearing immediately because the ex filed temporary motions for full custody, restraining orders, child support, spousal support, everything. These stories make my blood boil. I was fortunate enough to catch my wife before she could set up the DV allegations properly, though I did find DV pamphlets all over the house after she left. I'm a hardcore believer that women in general don't ever recover from hoe phases. They destroy their bonding ability, and they will revert back to their old ways when they get bored of you. It is in their nature to be with as many partners as they can. Same with men. Society is simply too broken to support monogamy anymore. Our feelings don't matter to nature.

Process servers have options with this stuff. I work with a bondsman/process server. HA! Mine called it a "Police Escort" as well. Then she screamed at them and called them sexist for not siding with her. Women really think their perception of right from wrong should be law. That's why you see karens getting arrested and thinking they can tell officers "No I'm not getting arrested" and "Don't touch me!" then screaming help when they fail.

Depends on the cops. When mine tried to come in, the cops said she had been gone for 90 days and no longer was a resident here, despite half owning the house. They would not force me to let her in.

Right, same here. Other than two large pieces of furniture she couldn't fit into the back of her minivan, I gave her everything. Ten years together and it fit in the trunk of a mini van. How pathetic.

Women just want to get pregnant. They don't want to be mothers or wives. Marriage is just the shiny ring to them. It's the wedding and instagram posts and getting to be a princess. Pregnancy is to validate them as women. Children are for child support. Praying mantises, every one of them.

Primary would be whoever has the child(ren) the most. 51% is still the most. By DR are you referring to a doctor? Because doctors don't care who has primary custody. Coparent likely has joint legal custody and is entitled to the same information about medical care for the child as you are.

What the hell? No, he didn't. They all do this once they get what they want. There are no good/bad women. Just women. We're the fools who think we're the exception. Which is why it's hilarious that my STBXW's lawyer, a fresh-out-of-law-school girl, told her that her affair wouldn't matter and to be honest about it. The judge immediately made her ruling after hearing that. Temp 50/50, mom does all driving (she moved 180 miles away) no child support, no lawyers fees, nothing. Soon she'll be a weekend mom.

but i have been feeling unhappy for a while now, and i’ve finally realized that i have been doing 150% of the work in our relationship, including things that she should be doing herself. She is autistic and have a lot of issues doing things, so i have been the one to do them for her for all our time. You don't get over the guilt because you don't have a valid reason to divorce her. Get counselling. You knew she was autistic when you married her. You knew she had issues. You're the problem here.

that doesn't mean love doesn't exists In this society we live in, yes, it does. Women don't need men anymore. They don't need providers and protectors. They can throw us away anytime they get bored and find someone new in minutes to tell them they're pretty. This world is fucked.

The problem is not women Except we raise girls to think they deserve more than boys. We teach them that men are capable and you need to sink your teeth into one to get what you want. We teach them to take and take and never give. We teach them to use their bodies to get what they want. To never tolerate anything they don't like. That they can provide for and protect themselves and don't need men. That they can leave and take everything and be praised for their bravery and strength. Women are rai…

It's always about what's next. Women constantly are rushing to get the ring, then the wedding, then a house, then a dog, then a baby. It's never enough. I'd be fine with 50/50, but my ex moved 180 miles away and my kids can't go to two different schools. She gave the judge no choice. She moved away and lives in her mom's basement and thinks she'll get primary custody. At the first hearing, she told the judge she deserved more time with the kids because she birthed them. That did not sit well, even despite the judge and all the lawyers being women and mothers.

Depending on the state, there isn't really a "set-in-stone" law (that I know of) regarding that debt. As far as I know, it's entirely up to the judge, but there are precedents they may follow. I did some googling about it here in my state since, when my ex left, I removed her access to all finances and she has been racking up credit card debt thinking I'll have to pay it (jokes on her, I likely won't.) Women love to have what they want. When you are no longer wanted, they can't love you anymore. It's just a biological disconnect between how women are and how society works. That's why we see so many divorces initiated by college educated women. Working women. When men aren't of value to them, they bite our heads off like black widows.

I agree, just stating that "No Fault" doesn't mean the judge will not punish you for being actually at fault. I'm divorcing an adulterous wife right now in a "no-fault" state, but the judge has made it very clear that she will not give my ex what she wants because of her affair. All "No-Fault" meant for me was I didn't have to prove she was adulterous to file for divorce. We can claim the marriage is irreconcilably broken and that's it. Fault divorces are just an archaic formality, really.

During our first hearing, my wife told my lawyer that she deserved more time with the kids than me because she was their mother and birthed them. We pretty much all just sat there staring at her an the judge (a woman) put her in her place real quick.

"He's emotionally abusive!" I sometimes get angry that he disagrees with my point of view. Women truly believe they are entitled to be told what they want to hear.

It's every woman's new favorite word because they think it sounds cool and it's such a subjective concept that no one argues it. I love shooting people down when they misuse it.

Emotionally Abusive = He wouldn't give me everything I wanted without complaint. Women really feel entitled to being treated like royalty.

100% serve her ass. Set the stage. Why the ambiguous pronouns? You're in the Divorce_Men sub. Unless you're gay then I apologize.

How can you not? Marriage is sacred. The one who defiles it is a lowly piece of shit who deserves to be hated.

You were only having a rough patch. She decided to turn that rough patch into scorched Earth.

My appraiser decided that my house was simply worth less in this market without repairs, and the house isn't even old or in bad shape. Some some areas weren't great. Basically he took her share of the equity and gave it to me.

Why is no one commenting about the daughter? Dude, file ASAP and demand temporary full custody because she is refusing to let you see your own kid.

I mean, aren't they? You still have ownership in the home, and the repairs will lower the equity.

Hey mine too! Women are literally the devil.

Despair. JK. Missouri. So basically the same thing.

Yep. My lawyer told me not to even bother with asking for attorney's fees because it was a waste of breath. She filed the divorce and forced me into it, but I hid all the money from her so her parents had to pay. Then she told the court the money was a gift from her folks and she didn't have to pay it back lol. So much easier when your ex is a moron.

Remember, when a woman walks out, she'd 100% done with you. You are her enemy and she is yours. Anything she wants is for her benefit.

What makes it certainly the final one? I ask because we are going to trial in a few weeks and I don't know what to expect. Is this your first trial hearing?

My step-dad divorced his first wife because she was convicted of fraud and embezzlement of over $70K. She blamed him. Women aren't ever held accountable for their failures, so they believe they are entitled to blame others. "Surely it can't be my fault. Nothing has ever been my fault!"

People whisper in their ears and tell them what they want to hear. My ex doesn't want to be told she's a shameful whore for cheating, so people tell her she was justified and she should destroy me, as if I've done anything wrong. Women are just fucking monsters.
