I've been in a similar predicament once, what really helped me, was talking about it to other people, without caring about their reactions or answers, it helps. Also making music, going to the gym or any activity that keeps your mind busy is a very good deterrent for the wounds to heal overtime (took me 1,5-2 years to fully recover).

I would add to your statement, that Empathy: as the ability to put yourself in someone else's shoes, is not really something that's enforced in most women, besides being a useful tool, to look good in public or for Virtue Signalling (status) purposes.
