If you can’t take people insulting you, maybe stop being a dick when they give you advice and are trying to help. For someone that preaches a lot about how wrong you were to be nice, you sure expect others to take your bullshit and narcissistic need to be right yourself and can’t seem to take people giving you any kind of help that doesn’t coddle you.

I and a hundred other people are literally telling you that you need to work on real self-care and leave the gender nonsense behind until you get better enough to handle relationships again. That you need to fix the root causes of what's hurting you, that comparing yourself to others is bad and will make you feel bad unnecessarily, and that your negative outlook is based on your poor treatment of yourself. Somehow, out of all that, you get this gargling nonsense: As a man I'm supposed to shut up…

I swear if I was a female you would all be empathetic and loyal and defending This is your broken filter that's making you a victim rather than have control over your life. That's what everyone here is trashing you over, and you're so deep in the forest you can't see the trees. This isn't a place to compare if men or women have it better, that's not self-care at all. That's whining. You're in a sub directed at men for helping men who are dealing with questions about redpill and similar philosoph…

You talk like a 13-year-old. Hot tip: embracing maturity and not being sex-obsessed is a great way to actually get girls attracted to you.

Why I can’t I get some sex too? Well for starters, a lot of people are turned off at the prospect of having sex with children.

You're self-medicating and not controlling your thoughts. I don't care if it's harder for you than others, that's just the challenge you need to rise to. It's making your mental health problem much worse than it needs to be. You're your own worst enemy. Please get off the internet and start following your doctor's advice. The subs you post to, with exception of this hot mess, are not designed to make you feel validated in your victimhood, nothing is as bad as you're making it in your own head. Y…

SOCIETY acceot this duality instard of forcing people to pick sides You are society. Everyone part of society has their own considerations. Your precious niceguys are often fucking monsters and assholes. And on the other hand, the most raving alt-right fuckwads often just need someone to talk to. Feminism is just a word but it helps the billions of girls who want to know they're not alone. Preachers sometimes rape kids. Often they don't and just have love in their heart for all children. I'm kind of in the middle and honestly a little confused in my politics towards gender and identity just because it is so nuanced DO NOT FORM IDEOLOGY. Okay you're on the right track because you're confused. Confused is nature's way of saying you're heading in the right direction, because all of nature and society, is at heart, confusing. Inherently. Objectively. There's no fixing this. It doesn't get better. All that happens is you get better at accepting it, slowly, little by little, as you fi…

I mean, yeah? But also... no. You're still looking at the world like caricatures and cartoon cutouts of people. You have to purge a lot of jargon from your head still. Now I'm so dark and jaded I long for my nice guy days Are you recognizing that this is replacing one filter for another and neither is accurate? There are literally millions upon millions of people who are nice to each other and have successful relationships because of it. You end up on a gender message board ranting about this sh…

The reality of a "patriarchal world" is that it subjugates men as badly as women. Social attitudes that reward regressive insecurity force us all into boxes of different kinds. It's a larger and more nuanced problem than "women are X and men are Y", there's a lot to unpack in this discussion. I would highly recommend visiting /r/menslib. We run contrary to everything Redpill stands for except maybe self-improvement and finding value in yourself. Otherwise it's a community of people who also agre…

My wife does this odd thing, whenever we have a tragedy in our life, a stressful obstacle to overcome, something that we're struggling with, she takes our picture. We had as many pictures of us with red eyes, crying or recovering from stress pain, as we do vacation pictures of us relaxing on the beach. What she said to me was: "If you're only remembering the good things, you're remembering half your life, and learning half the lessons it gives you. Imagine if you were to be able to look back at …

That's a good start, women are just people, with their own set of insecurities, hang-ups, needs and desires as deep and complex as yours. There's also nothing wrong with wanting to explore sexuality or even hire a sex worker in my opinion. As long as everything is consensual and you're both adults, in my opinion there's nothing inherently damaging about this. As long as it's understood that it's a different kind of sexuality than you will experience or use in a relationship. As for the cliche no…

First it sounds like you spend a lot of time on the internet reading different opinions about what’s best for you, what “works” or not, and probably have developed a heavy dialogue in your head about gender. Right? Do you go around in the day using language in your head that you read about, and it just comes automatically? Good sign you need to back away from the online spaces, especially if you’re unhappy. You’re unhappy, that’s why people get drawn into this world of pickup arts, relationship …

Yeah your view then has been tainted then. That's a TERRIBLE view to hold, it's a shit view and people who cling to it have shit relationships, and to be honest, are often shit people. This is what I'm trying to say about TRP, it manipulate your way of thinking like any cult. You can be influenced, ANYONE can be manipulated into holding terrible ideas that dehumanize others if the manipulator uses new language and polishes it up to validate some kind of unhappiness the target already has/had. Going through life in the TRP mindset that women are inherently horrible and so are men so you need to work out a system for it to control her and get what you want... that’s a self trained personality disorder and you will lose out on actual emotional connection and it will sabotage any real relationships you ever hope to have. TRP plants fear on your mind. It dread-games YOU into following their way of thinking. You’re the bitch to TRP, and just like a TRP relationship, it doesn’t actually car…

I’ve been reading TRP for years, it’s entirely a community of psychologically unstable and abusive boys. It’s just wallpapered over with self help and a macho culture that makes lonely kids feel they have a place to belong and shit out their terrible ideas without consequence. Nothing about TRPs principles will work with a partner or relationship long term. It will only attract broken people and teach you both how to be tired and miserable with each other. Redpill in general refuses to acknowledge any other kind of masculinity except stereotypical "jock" types of overly confident, strapping white men with good posture and no regard for boundaries. Homosexuality or LGBTQ is dismissed entirely, or regarded as mental illness before being dismissed entirely. Race is also a topic that causes a lot of teeth-gnashing and anxiety, as many Redpill alumni are very intimidated and seem threatened by African Americans (the term "Tyrone" came from this fearful…

Any good moment. Sometimes it’s a rush of emotion from a new song I discover, sometimes it’s spending the night writing an ongoing story just for fun. Sometimes it’s intimacy with with my wife, sometimes it’s walking alone. Sometimes it’s blowing the whole evening modding Fallout 4 until it crashes. Sometimes I can’t get happy and just despair and let those emotions flow through me like any great experience. The idea is to relish in it as it happens.

TRP in general is a community of 17 - 25 year-olds who are too scared to have an emotional experience past "anger" and "cynicism." This is why it appeals to people who are looking for a way to cover up their depression and anxiety. When you're young, lonely, desperate for physical and emotional intimacy with a woman, and depressed and anxious, you are among the most vulnerable of people in the world to buy into indoctrination. This really needs to be said a lot more. Nobody likes to admit they'r…

Don't "try" to be anything other than who you are. Your relationship is between you and your partner, there should never be any tactics, games, guides or ideologies between you and her. If you can't be comfortable being yourself with your SO then you're missing out on a real relationship. Your partner should be your safety zone, where you can be honest, expressive and show whatever emotions you're feeling, discuss any wacky thought that crosses your mind, and she should be the same with you. That says more about your relationship than the factual truth of TRP's principles. Of course manipulation works, if it didn't work, then we would have a lot less problems in the world. People are easy to manipulate. All of us are, and TRP in general is manipulating men by trying to make it seem like some kind of arcane, jedi trick to bend someone's will. Of course you will get "results" manipulating people. That's why sociopaths climb to high positions in life. The problem with this path is, it …

My wife and I have been married 18 years. The world would not imagine the love we share, as well as everything else that we share in our life. Just have some standards and love someone who loves you back. TRP doubts feelings are real because they're uncomfortable and inside, everyone there is a pessimistic, cynical boy who hasn't even HAD a deep emotional relationship with anyone so it seems rightfully scary. never trust a group of people who do nothing but make you angry This needs to be said more often, especially to our current generation of young people. I have made up my mind to do some therapy to work this out. This is probably a majorly good idea. Taking care of your mental health isn't just about having a breakdown and needing care, it's about maintenance and looking for warning signs you need a checkup, just like if your leg was bothering you and you went to a doctor. Anxious thoughts you can't shake off are exactly one of those warning signs. A professional can help you break down those thoughts and come up with ways of dismantling the cyc…

Just got to find a girl that is very hard to get I suppose. If she’s easy to get then she’ll probably cheat later on. This is really poor reasoning that this material has influenced you to think. People are individuals with their own reasons for doing everything that they do, they're not fish you catch. They're people you learn from and communicate with. First, stop consuming the material that is making you feel this way. When something you're indulging in is not making you happy, it's a sign that it's becoming a dependency. This applies to drugs and alcohol as well as the things you read and think about. This shit is making you overthink and become paranoid about basic, normal, healthy human interaction that is not very complicated. Of course you're anxious about the possibilities of what happens in a relationship, but you're not there yet. You…

We have to realize that a lot of the people who started reading and interacting with the Redpill community have already bought into the narrative to some degree, so I think it's perfectly fine and very beneficial to address the concerns of Redpillers and borderline Redpillers from their own perspective of "somewhat helpful, but is there more?"

Redpill doesn't hold the patent on self-improvement, but their fundamental flaw is that they appeal to the most simplistic, 2-dimensional stereotypes of human relationships. Yes, there are some really basic differences between how men and women process and express some feelings, but Redpill tells you that they know better than you or your partner what to do about those differences, rather than letting you and your partner talk it out together and work out your differences and compromise and lear…

Blanket or generalized criticism of feminism is often removed just the same way we remove blanket or general attacks against women or men or other groups or even abstract concepts and nuanced ideas. It's not uncommon (although very unwise) for people in rehab programs to connect with each other and form relationships. Attractiveness is very subjective and for a lot of people attraction comes from sharing something deep. Like a mental heath/addiction issue. Pretty succinct explanation of the problem with TRP and similar "bitter male" cultures online. It's really just rationalization and validation for being angry and depressed and not wanting to bother fixing it. It just plain keeps you unhappy for no damn good reason. Redpill is self-contradicting a way of thinking and looking at the world that practices everything it preaches, on you. It teaches how to manipulate women with uncertainty and fear, how to put others down so you can be on top, to disregard the opinions of others and live just for yourself. This is all what TRP does to the reader himself. You are being dread-gamed by TRP. You ask a question because part of it doesn't make sense? Turn off your computer, get in touch with your therapist or get to an emergency room ASAP. When you have a mental health condition like OCD, depression or anxiety, there are quite literally traps on the Internet that can "lock" you into a way of thinking about something by striking an emotional chord inside you and making you try to connect an idea to the world around you. I've nerver heard feminists claiming that stay-at-home parents of either gender are being oppressed. Honestly if your definition of success is picking up women, there's a ton of things you can do to be more successful, because unless there's something deeply wrong with you, and if we're going to use evo-psych to analyze human behavior, then keep in mind that men and women are wired to like each other generally. The problem is there are a lot of things that need to have "sugar coatings" stripped away, and that goes equally for us as men, you as a person, me as a person, our views of the world and so on. With life comes ambiguity and nuance and most of all, discomfort. The biggest sin of TRP, even more than pushing manipulation like it's some kind of jedi mastery, is that it teaches you to avoid emotional pain and seek self reward. So you are aware that happiness is "earned in blood, and sweat, and honest self-reflection". Wel.... That's exactly what TRP teaches. No, TRP teaches avoiding emotional discomfort at all costs, from distancing yourself from others, to compartmentalizing behavior so it's less scary and unpredictable feeling, to "training" your partner to not say or do things that make you feel vulnerable or uncomfortable. I have a very successful marriage for nearly 2 decades and relationships with a variety of people that are rewarding and I have a sense of fulfillment from the things I've learned along the way about myself and others. Redpill is the antithesis of everything that I've learned, it appeals to the most momentary needs of the self, an ideology of "taking for now" rather than "investing in others for all time." There is absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying traditional roles in relationships. That doesn't have anything to do with RedPill though. The louder and most visible people in MR often are hostile, antagonistic and immature, as well as hyper-reactionary and ready to attack rather than communicate and help each other. It's a community that claims to care about men, but the moment they encounter a man with alternative ideas to h…

MR: "Men have unique issues that females don't seem to understand! Feminists are trying to destroy masculinity! They don't accept men as a different gender with specific traits, concerns and needs!" Someone criticizes something related to MR: "That's so sexist, let me arbitrarily flip the genders/races/species to shut you up, exploiting your natural fear of being called a racist/sexist/xenophobe"

a long time ago I was a mensrights subscriber. I was interested in the idea that there are men-specific issues that were not getting enough attention and really wanted to see what was being done to address some very real concerns. Men's mental health, substance abuse, suicide rates, veteran care, social pressures to conform to specific standards of strength, masculinity and mannerism. These are all things that I cared about or had effected me at some point. So imagine my disappointment when the …

We don't want to settle for unhappiness and can't make someone else change to make us happy. Talking openly is good, but it's not the same as being the owner of that person to where you can guarantee they will treat you well, all the time. Plus if someone else is the captain of your life, what happens should they run things into the ground? You've had a bad experience, and it's going to take a long-ass time to push through it, sorry to say. We're shaped by the experiences we have dealing with a …

It honestly sounds like you have some deeper issues at play than what you're going to get off the internet. A cultish system doesn't have to have a rank-and-file hierarchy with leaders and plots, sometimes a system just becomes self-perpetuating because of who it appeals to and how. The community is the cult, the fear is the cult, the mods that maintain the narrative is the cult. The praise of "getting laid" as a measure of success in life is part of the cult, and something that dissolves like so many other ideas as you grow older.

TRP/PUA seems to be the most logical and systematic approach to solve the issue. You need a lot more than I can cover in a reddit post, but I want to touch on something that a lot of young guys on reddit and the internet are completely lost about, a problem that leads to really laughable nonsense like RedPill and Pickup Arts, which may work to land a one-night-stand if that's all you really want in life, but if you want to have more, if you want romance and a partner and a good relationship, you…

brutal truth I have a major gripe with this term. Because so far I only see it used to describe really unpopular opinions that may strike a nerve in some people, basically "brutal truth" or "dark enlightenment" and all those other terms seem to be "porn" for people who like to indulge in that gut-twisting feeling of self-devaluing emotional release I wrote about. The biggest problem with "support" communities and dating/relationship communities online is that they shift the narrative in your head from "something is wrong with me" to "something is wrong with everyone else/women in general." They implant ideas in your head about what other people are thinking when they look at your or interact with you, so if you're already self-conscious as a person you will find yourself automatically assuming the worst from people, you will distrust the intentions of pe…

Not the poster you are replying to, but it's simple and common. Except rage-porn like that link contains does not have any nice discussion merits, it's just a wall of anger and anti-women clickbait meant to stir up an angry mob. If you want to have a nice discussion, you take one of those talking points, examine it from a non-biased source and discuss the different sides of the issue. This gets more people involved of any gender and is much more successful at making changes than circle-jerking to sputtering rage.

I'm sad for you guys. All of this is absolute shit for a real relationship. All of it. Levels? Acting like a child and making threats? The implied overarching importance of getting laid over communicating and resolving issues? I mean I know that's the heart of it, I've read it from the source, but to see so many fools repeat this pablum and swear by it fills my heart with shame and pity. Good fucking luck. Welcome to the real world, where two people who want to make things work can simply talk about it. Where women aren't scary, alien monster animals that cannot be reasoned with and real, human interaction, including all the ups and downs and drama and pain and conflicts actually makes you a stronger, healthier person or couple together instead being a scary boogeyman that must be avoided. Bad stuff I've been with my wife for 20 years, and can confirm that this shit that TRP promotes is a sure-fire way to destroy any happiness you may ever find with another person. Seriously, it's not easy. You don't just find the right person and coast through marriage because you got lucky or managed to mold your partner into someone who doesn't bother you. It's a LOT of work and emotion, concepts that the TRP kiddies think you should never have to put into your relationship. This flies in the f…

We nurture and create the kind of world we want to live in around us. As humans we are exceptionally good at doing that, but often people don't realize just how much influence we have over our universe, we tend to give credit to systems that others have distilled down and simplified, we point fingers and blame others for problems, and most of all we tend to be insecure and scared. All of us. These are factors that make "systems" like TRP snag a lot of young, naive guys, when it's really just a m…

Relationships require far more nuance than this go-to line that TRPers fall back on. Your partner should be your actual partner, who knows you as a person, not an act or attitude. With this knowledge, a good partner will understand that you are a human like she is, and may express yourself differently at different times. People change, and in a good relationship people help each other through changes and support each other when there's an issue that needs to be sorted out to maintain chemistry t…

It's not awesome for you that you experienced pain and hardship, but it's awesome that you experienced it, and can now look back at it and relate it to your own identity and emotional health. You went through shit and put it in a healthier perspective against your life later. Some people never do that, they get stuck beating their head against a wall that won't break, trying to force their particular mindset against the world because they have a fantasy that it w…

Here's what you're going to do. You're going to go to college, and you're going to study the everloving shit out of whatever you're going to study. You're going to work your ass off as hard as you can at succeeding at the real survival game of life right now. At your age nothing else matters. I know it doesn't feel that way, and you're going to have emotional swings that will leave you a shell of a man, will make you rationalize stupid shit, will make you doubt yourself and all that. People who believe that phrase means you can sit on your ass and it will happen are exactly the kinds of people TRP targets and catches, people who need to define everything around them literally. It's ludicrous to think you don't have to do anything, but you also don't have to go to clubs, wear certain clothes, have an act ready to use, a pickup line, etc. Don't try so hard. Relax and enjoy life and enjoy people and love will sneak into your life without you even realizing what's happening. If …

Connecting with someone deeply will have both pleasant and unpleasant feelings attached, and as humans we need to experience both ends of this spectrum with someone we trust. Many Redpillers are young guys, 18 - 25 range and raging with hormones that make sexual desires ludicrously stro…

I'm a bearded, gun-toting, ex-farmboy who believes in personal freedom and I don't subscribe to any "isms." I'm registered independent and have a mix of conservative ideals and a lot of liberal leaning attitudes. I resent being put in a box, and when I read about TRP it made me want to smack all these kids around for trying to compartmentalize people and relationships. When it comes to relationships between the sexes, you talk about shit and get shit resolved and decide what you're going to do f…

If they weren't, then what else do they have to offer? Statements/questions to this effect are why people will continually associate Redpill with sociopaths. It ignores and dismisses any regard to feelings, love, emotional connections, friendship between opposite sexes and rewarding partnerships that are not based on self-gain.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
