I 100% agree. I used to think that the fact that women look for a higher status mate than them didn't apply to me. I've been in the same relationship for a long time now and I've had phases where I definitely earned more than him or phases where he was a bit lost and my attraction to him never wavered. But at some point I figured out that it was because I looked up to him regardless of how much he earned or what he was doing because of his inner strength and values. I feel like he could guide me…

Yes, it is absolutely worth it. I'm in my 20s and I got braces (the invisible one) but still. Trust me! We already have too many little insecurities, why hold on to one that is so easily fixable? Yes, it is expensive but it will only affect your hobbies/ academic things/ transportation for about a year... And in return you'll be free from an insecurity for life!!! So so so so so worth it. I love my teeth now, I can look at photos and not cringe! Just make sure to do the after care properly, as i…

A lot of us have had a difficult start in life, this isn't to diminish anything you've been through since I don't know what it is, but the reason I'm saying this is that you're probably not UNIQUELY broken. A lot of us have broken bits. My first advice to you is OWN your brokenness. It is yours. When you do find a relationship you may feel tempted to offload all of this on the person, have them fix all that is broken within you but this will lead to an unhealthy and unfulfilling relationship. Ow…

I second all of this :)

As someone who used to be a feminist, I found that as an ideology, it isn't very woman friendly. It kind of poses the idea that being a feminine woman is demeaning and bad. RPW, however, values femininity. I feel more valuable, more alive, more myself when I follow these guidelines. For example, I have always felt more naturally submissive and I used to feel ashamed of that because that's a "weak" thing to be, it's also "a result of patriarchal conditioning" etc etc. I've always loved baking and…

Thanks for this :) watched the first episode last night and can confirm that it is very RP. Love it!

I see what you mean. Plus, the more you feel good about yourself the more you have to give to the people you love! Thanks!

Thanks for this. I like the idea of taking it moment by moment. Like... at any given moment you can make a decision on whether you will be a nag and ungrateful or whether you'll be sweet and inviting. Good one :)

Thanks... I'm quite anxious so when he makes decisions I'm always worried that he hasn't been overthinking like I have so he might have missed some things that could go wrong... I'm glad you've brought up the decision making aspect. I'll work on that!!

Thanks for this. Can you elaborate on the frame of mind bit? It makes sense to me that confidence would be it but I'd love it if you could explain that a little more :)

This is a really good observation.. I guess I do tick the boxes of acting submissive but there are certain things that I know I'm doing "wrong". The stuff that I do that I mentioned in my post (cooking for him, being available etc.) I do out of wanting to be a good wife. To me, being submissive would mean completely letting him lead. Being able to relax and let go. But I keep trying to predict his wishes, and being prepared for them. It stops me from being vulnerable. So, for example, sometimes …

Congrats!! That's awesome!! I see what you mean, I thought I was doing everything right too and just wasn't losing any weight. Also realised I needed to eat way less calories than I thought. If you like using apps, try 'Lose it'! it has really been helping me. You can scan the bar codes of things you're eating and it's really easy to track your calories. It has really been working for me. And it's free :)

I guess in that case (if you're really being honest with yourself) there's really nothing wrong with this. It's all a matter of your future or current boyfriend being comfortable with it. Like another person said here, beware of internalizing manosphere stuff too much. There are valuable things there, no doubt about it. But it doesn't apply to everything all the time :)

As someone who used to have mainly guy friends up until a few years ago and also didn't sleep with them, just think about the following things: 1- are you 100% comfortable telling all of your guy friends (and I mean all of them) when you're head over heels in love with some other guy outside the group? Can you hang out with your male friends and your boyfriend (if/when you have one) without changing your friendship dynamic in any way? if the answer to these is yes, it's probably OK. But think lo…

I think this is really good advice too. The bit about asking someone who has already achieved this for their opinion, especially. Do you (OP) have anyone in your life that has lived a similar life to the one you wan? Maybe you could ask them what they think. Ask them to help you achieve what they've achieved :) Comparing yourself to friends who are living a life you don't want to live can only lead you to ending up like them (which you don't seem to want).

This is very difficult. I think what I'd do if I were you is tell him quite clearly that you don't think this relationship is healthy anymore. That you believe in him and have faith that he can be better. Give him all of your support but don't enable this kind of behavior (him using you as a crutch). I would tell him straight up that you want him but you need him to be someone you can look up to. And that you know he has it in him because that was the man you fell in love with (or something alon…

You know... the reason it's important to have something that you DO and feel passionate about beyond people and relationships is that other people will NEVER (no matter how amazing your husband and how sweet your children) fully fulfill you. This is because, you may imagine having a beautiful family and your role within that family as a lovely romanticized, movie-like life. However, these things are difficult, most of the times you will succeed, you will also, sometimes, fail to be the wife and …

There's nothing wrong with your dreams and way of being. And I do think pursuing a career is overrated. But I mean a career in the typical way we think of it - going up a corporate ladder of some sort, spending a long time and stressing out and doing things you don't enjoy doing just so you can get promoted and earn more money (it can also involve being more masculine and aggressive, that being said a lot of women like it and only take on a more feminine role at home, there's nothing wrong with …

This is great, thank you! I have been trying to take more risks (especially emotional risks) but I never thought that my attempts to be less egocentric and attempts to take more risks might be related. Thanks!

But you're acting like your feelings are a problem here. Of course you feel things. This kind of thing touches us on the deepest levels. It's about love, betrayal, trust, acceptance. Things that everyone values more than anything. I think it might help to understand that there isn't a person alive who wouldn't be hurt and in pain by being cheated on by someone they love. You're being a big person here and a strong one at that by making a choice based on an ultimate goal - being happy with the ma…

I think peoples' answers here have been great already. Mine is going to be about mindset. My husband can be quite messy as well and I used to "nicely" nag him (if that is even a thing) about it. However, someone said this in another post (can't remember which) and I think it was very helpful "treat him like the man you wish he was". So I always think to myself: if he was just a sexy, attractive, hard-working man I know. Would I imagine him with a wife at home who asks him to pick up his wet towe…

My husband is very work/goal focused. He tends to not show too much desire unless it is the right time. I also don't see him staring at other women either. I know it can be hard but maybe it's just a part of who he is? I wonder if he is just thinking of other things? It doesn't mean he doesn't desire you. That being said, something that has helped is just trying to be more attractive for him. Dressing up nicely while we're around the house. Putting more effort into how I look in general. This mi…

This seems very heartfelt! I feel for you. And I respect your thoughts about not getting divorced over this. If you trust and love him and believe he is sorry and regrets what he has done, I don't see why you should leave. Without knowing more, it is going to be hard for us to give you advice. However, the one thing I would say is let yourself feel what you're feeling. Be vulnerable. Not just because this is RPW but also because it's your truth. You're hurt. And it seems from your post that its …

I see what you mean it must be very hard to tell women the truth. But the thing is when my husband and I first got together I was already the same level of chubby I used to be before the weight loss. That's why I believed him when he said he liked my weight. I guess he probably was just self editing.

I'm sorry to hear about the guy you're dating. I hope moving on goes well! And I agree, I lost the weight for myself because he didn't seem to really want me to. I just ended up finding out my weight loss was very welcome to him :)

You're right! Being fit and toned does not mean being model skinny. I wonder how many men are actually into the super skinny look.
