Turns out the court sent her a copy. So that was anticlimactic.

Just some equity from the house. Got a promissory note to pay her back when I sell. No big deal. It was actually supposed to be the other way round but she ended up leaving the house instead of me.

Good idea. Kids are with her this weekend. Might just buy a Just Divorced pin and go out to a bar.

A bit annoying. Both teachers in same school board so everyone assumes we are still together. Pretty uncommon name as well. Apparently, changing it is "a lot of hassle" and "awkward" for a teacher.

Mine started secretly dating her boss about 6 weeks after we had THE conversation. Still under the same roof, we were supposed to be coparenting for the foreseeable future. After saying she had no interest in anyone else but encouraging me to go and date as well. I still get pissed off. Usually because something new happens. She had a party and invited a good friend of mine and HE was there. She went on holiday with him and wanted me to watch the kids while she was away. She let him meet my kids…

Never had to go down that route as everything has been amicable. Custody agreement just says that child expenses are 50/50. First time this has come up. It's not a huge amount of money, 100 a month or something. Just thought I would ask.

My plans for payback are mostly petty. I think the best ever revenge would be to fuck his (adult) daughter. His ex is fugly so would be a tough one. I do have a few devious ideas but I'm in no rush. Dish best served cold and all that. But as people have said the best revenge is just living a better life, looking better, and finding a better person.

How long have you been separated? Mine didn't wait, immediately started up with her boss while encouraging me to "go have fun". I totally understand how you feel.

It's public sector so a little bit different. I've heard from two other independent sources about his creepiness/inappropriateness towards female employees. He is at least 10 years older and a massive cunt. She is welcome to him.

Trust me, I know it didn't start before. I'm tech savvy (background in IT). She was more in the this thing won't turn on (it's unplugged) category. Literally had the same dumb 7 letter password for everything for over 10 years. And I mean everything! Google account, all social media, cell phone account. With that info, one can find out the very day it started. And he was working elsewhere by the time I had found out. And that would be a stupid thing to do anyway.

Not everyone's situation is the same. Other than this one issue, my ex has been pretty reasonable. She even did my taxes for me last year and got me 6k back. I still live in the bigger family home, while she had to move to a worse area. And she has agreed not to involve her partner in my kids lives after I talked to her about the situation. But yeah hahaha bullshit.

Luckily for me, her new man is not someone who could ever make me feel inferior. In fact that is what made me not clue in right away. The reaction was like, really? I thought you had standards. But oh well.

There would be nothing to gain of course. Other than fucking up her situation. There is nothing I can do that doesn't involve conflict. I can only explain to her how it makes me feel. Ask that for my sake she does not involve him in my kids' lives. Given the nature of how she started this relationship. But that's about it.

Thanks for comments. I totally agree that the best thing to do is move on. It just sucks as she has said all along that she is not interested in having kids meet any new partner. Then she just drops this at midnight last night. It will be very hard moving forward. Especially as the kids get older. And if I have to hear about the new guy. He has a boat for example, and you know they will be out on it this summer, living it up. Things are amicable. No issues. I owe the ex 60 odd k. That is on a fl…

We have a parenting plan. One part of this agreement that she signed was informing the other party of intention to introduce kids to a romantic partner. Including the name of said partner. She hasn't done this. So....

The Bible became irrelevant once people learned to read it for themselves. No wonder the church resisted its translation from Latin. Many people don't hold a Bible and tell the truth. So what. I must have missed the verses about Hollywood in the Bible. Will have to reread it. The Bible is a big, long-winded tome of babbling nonsense, with the odd bit of common sense thrown in. You need to read more books and get therapy.

Lol, yeah, that is the revenge thoughts I sometimes have. Her cunt boss starting hitting on her the second he found out she was having some marriage issues. She is obviously to blame but what vermin does that? He knew me, was my boss just the previous year.

I have it in my parenting agreement/plan that the other person must consent to who is involved with the kids. I specifically put this in as I do not want my kids to ever associate with the rat fuck to which she monkey branched. The scumbag boss who abused his position of authority and was just comforting her when we had marriage trouble. However if she moved on from this vermin to an actual decent man then I would have no problems. My long winded point is that it depends on context. Does she hav…

Mine started seeing her boss when we were still under the same roof, not 6 weeks after the separation conversation. The creep moved on her the minute he found out her marriage was ending. Still with the rat fuck as far as I know. Our child custody agreement says that the other party needs to be informed before kids meet with any new partner. So in this particular case NEVER. Ex knows bet than to ask. Anyone else I would say at least 6 months to even a year.

So many retired people in my neighbourhood. Empty nesters insist on living in a big house. My elderly nextdoor neighbours live in a huge 4 bedroom with a large yard. Husband has had a stroke and is extremely limited on one side. All they do is blow snow, cut grass and rake leaves. That and bitch and moan about loud kids. I'll be downsizing when my kids leave. Studio apartment, maybe a boat that I can live on in the summer. 🙂 Travel in the winter.

Watch your back, this is how all those true crime stories start. Rich person, big life insurance policy, has an 'accident'. Use your money for good causes. What does your local community need? Are there local organisations that you can join to help your community? You can't take it with you, and you can't take the meaningless objects you buy. Yes you will be temporarily happy, but real human connections are the true measure of wealth and the key to long term happiness. You want to do a lot of go…

Yes and no. Straight after separation I hit the apps. Got a quick hookup with someone that I wasn't interested in dating. Then had a summer fling with a girl who was 29, I was 42. Was fun but I didn't want to mess her around. She was really nice but wanted more then i was willing to commit to. Took a break for a bit, but then decided to try out an alternative app for meeting folk. I had tremendous success there, lots of hookups with very hot girls. And ticked a few things off my wish list. Since…

I've put up a basketball net for the kids at exs house. I've moved around my schedule when she took the kids on holidays, and looked after the dog, (it's as much my dog as hers but goes back and forth with kids) I drew the line at watching the kids and changing the schedule when she wanted to go on holiday with the guy she left me for. And when she was hinting at doing some basic DIY stuff at her house I said no way. If her new man can't work a screwdriver then she can pay someone.

I understand where you are coming from OP. Lots of good advice on here! However, due to the number of guys who have had a very bad divorce, there is often a lot of negativity towards women in general. Which I also understand. If been pretty lucky with the finance and kids aspects. But less so with the post split interactions with ex.

My ex was the exact same. Albeit only about 7 years in. Coincided with kids being born and the toddler phases, so that masked things a bit. In her case it was sex with ME, not sex in general that was the issue. The minute we were done she her libido improved pretty quickly. Start planning for the exit. Sounds like the relationship is over.

Go to a doctor and get everything checked out. I had something similar. Extreme fatigue, brain fog, muscle twitches. Thought it was every possible disorder. Everything was fine physically but after being diagnosed with depression and taking meds for a few months I felt normal again.

Thanks for some actual advice. Seems like a reasonable thing to say, especially early on. I had a date last night that was set up by a mutual acquaintance. She is a server at a local restaurant. I didn't know anything about her other than name and age. She is 29 though and I'm 42. Had a lovely time, she was sweet, and really attractive. But wants kids and I made it clear that I don'twant more. So I'm not expecting a 2nd date.

I am just asking questions on a forum. I also wasn't burned. I have 50% custody, kept my two cars, and still live in the same house in a nice neighborhood, with a pool. I know I was lucky compared to many guys on here; my ex has been pretty reasonable throughout this separation. My post was specifically asking how to AVOID a compromising situation next time around.

I live in Ontario. I have read up on this. Common law is after 3 years, or 1 if you have kids together. It is also dependent on shared rent agreements, mortgages, bills etc. So technically you could cohabit and get around any issues in the future by not putting your partners name on any household bills. There are probably some other things I have missed.

I have kids already. Been there done that. Was just asking for advice from people who have actually found a good woman and how to navigate the potential problems that might happen in the future. It seems that the advice is I should avoid any marriage or cohabitation in the future.

Lovely analogy. Lol But my first hut didn't really burn down, and I still have all my limbs. Plus I have a dog. So I guess it's just me and Chewie the Shih Tzu from here on.

For me getting support through neighbours has been key. All my family are far away. I have a few fellow dad friends in my street who I can bring my kids over to hang out for play dates. Usually pretty informal spur of the moment type things. Once every couple of weeks I got out for dinner to a kid friendly restaurant. (I know the owner and she just set me up with a waitress there, who saw me in with my kids lol) Depending on age having a scheduled 'event'. For me it is Friday pizza/movie/popcorn…

I saw a picture of his ex wife. Total munter. I wouldn't ride her in to battle. The wall passed her a while back. She's 44. I'm 42. Currently seeing a 34 year old. Her new guy must be pushing mid 50s.

Now as I know the boss. I know everything about him, address, work, cell, car he drives etc. I've always had a little notion for some petty revenge. My revenge on the ex is getting in shape, looking better than I ever have, dating younger hotter women, and being a great dad etc. But I just feel that this fucker needs a little bit of treatment. Nothing criminal obviously, but the guy is a scumbag.

I should clarify that all assets are taken care of. We have a separation agreement in place with the 60k included. It is a promissory note, which I know a good lawyer could pick holes in. I owed her 100k initially but already paid 40k after the sale of a rental property. I fully intend to give her the 60k when able to do so. This is what was agreed. The only reason $$ is owed is that we both decided to keep the house in one of our possessions, rather than sell and both buy again. This was to kee…
