In the extremely unlikely scenario that you're in good health and your body hasn't completely failed you, 85 may not be terrible. I know an 80 year old dude- He golfs often, works part time at a golf course, drinks often, and smokes a pack of kools a day. Happy as a clam, too. Doesn't seem so bad.

Happened to me recently. The summertime, man. All of the titties come out and these girls get pumped and dumped a few times by a summer fling and then they come crying back to someone they once had stability with. I actually responded (which is usually inadvisable) because she was one of the few girls I've dated that didn't turn out to be THE DEVIL. I was at the bar with my buds. She came by and had a couple drinks and we caught up. Wonder how old you/your ex are, OP? The typical reason is what …

Treat others the way you would want to be treated. Start treating yourself better. Care for yourself. Love yourself. Stop worrying about alpha, beta, fake nice guy blah blah blah. Don't try so hard. I'd say be yourself, but it seems like you're looking to find out who that is. Good luck on your search.

And just think...you and I lived most of our lives without it. In a few short years, you can now observe people becoming disconnected by being so connected. I feel like social media is an unprecedented social experiment with no real goals and a kind of "well fuck it, let's see what will happen" kind of attitude behind it. I feel bad for these poor young fucks that have to grow up with it.

No responsibility for her actions at all. Typical. Fuckin' makes me furious, man. I got hit some years back and am lucky to be alive. Got hit by a man. He pulled over, asked if I was okay, and was on the horn calling an ambulance. (Like a human being should do when there's an accident). Thankful it was a dude. If you're not finding it with your peers, you should find some likeminded people that you don't have to muster up the motivation to socialize with. I'm definitely the same way. I need alone time, probably more than most. Try meetup. I checked it out and found some cool stuff, never went to an event though. Since you mention college, I'm only about 10 years older than you, but you're probably not so far off base to look down on your peers. It seems most kids I've met that have grown up with socia…

If you're in a rush, you can boil until they're tender and sauce them and throw on the grill or blast them with the broiler quick until they're a little charred and carmalized. If you're not in a rush, you should braise them in the oven for a few hours, sauce them, broil or grill. They come out much better. If you're REALLY not in a rush, smoke them. They're the best. I'd go option B.

Homo sapiens have only existed for approximately 300,000 years. Still, though. Fuckin' valid points, man. I think many of these traits were suppressed for the last few hundred years due to very real social and physical reprocussions. To be honest- we are capable of so much. It's a little underwhelming to focus your entire life around a romantic relationship. It won't bring you true contentment in the long term. Seconded. Watch the whole movie. I waited for decades after not understanding all of the references. Movie still holds up- it's pretty fucking good.

It was a hell of a series. I'm kinda with you, too. They are pretty likable...I didn't mind watching them win it all. My butt is just a little hurt.

If a place has good food and space is at a premium, they won't want to sacrifice room for tables with a pool table or something. True, games can bring in customers...but usually not the type that's going to have appetizers, a meal, and a few rounds of drinks.

No knowledge on fishing for catfish specifically. For other fish like bass and perch...Keep your lures simple- I have had a lot of success over the years with a simple small oval shaped shiny metal lure. Fish aren't generally feeding much midday. Shoot for going out early or the hour or so around dusk. Also: keep your line taught so you can react quickly and set your hook when you feel a nibble. You'll get the feel for that with some practice.

How is that white supremacist? It's a well researched estimate. Check out "The bell curve" by Murray and Herrnstein. Thing is, the findings they reported are dangerous and often touted by racists. They knew the implications of publishing this book, but felt it was important to do so, anyway. This doesn't mean there can't be exceptional or really low IQ people from any race...these are just the averages that they found. This begins to give some color to a lot of social and global issues. Rage phase, man. Part of the value this sub provides is it's a space for people to vent after they take some pills that are hard to swallow. You're passed that. I am, too. Plenty of new people subbing every day that are realizing that AWALT may just be true, though. That's worthy of some ragin'.
/r/MGTOW11/06/18 02:09 AM

Odd? Yeah, I guess. If everyone has them, you're the edgy dude now. Take it a step further and don't have an instagram, don't wear a beanie in the summer, and refuse to eat a vegan diet...guaranteed to get weird looks from 20 somethings.

To be honest, if being called ginger really upset you...you told someone to stop...they didn't...you warned them...they kept going, PUNCH AWAY! You didn't because it really wasn't that upsetting, which means you made a pretty horrible comparison.

Social media metastasized the already present cancer in our society. Now society is reaping the rewards- suicide rates increasing, marriage rates dropping, and people across the board more lonely than ever despite being so "connected". You can't change it. So what are you going to do?

You're SO woke, dude. Stay the course. The disintegration of the family unit and all of the woes that it brought happened to the black community first- and it's happening more and more to every other racial group now. Buckle up. "A healthy community capable of introspection...". Doesn't sound like reality, unfortunately. America is so culturally broken, morally bankrupt, and as divided as ever. All that's left to do is...GYOW. Thanks for your perspective.

From what I've seen from two different studies, the global population will plateau at 11 billion by 2100 or 9.7 billion by 2070 and begin to decline after that. Birth rates are down worldwide, pretty much. ...Due to a lot of factors. I think it's interesting.

How old are you? When I was in my teens and early 20s, I could sleep 4-5 hours and be fine. In my 30s now. If I don't get at least 7 hours, I feel it. Everyone is different. It may change for you over time, or it may not. Einstein slept 10 hours a day and napped, as well. Edison slept 3-4. Both brilliant.

Love 'em. The Beach Boys had some absurdly well produced records. Full orchestra. That was the golden age of the record industry...in my humble opinion. Love Motörhead, as well. To each his own? Maybe you just need a "lightbulb" moment. I think this is cliche and often mentioned here, but important to consider, nonetheless: You don't get mad at a tiger or snake for biting, you acknowledge that is what they do and it's their nature. Likewise, you acknowledge that women are master manipulators. Of course they will be able to change society to suit themselves. You can't change the world, but you can change how you feel about it. Just worry about yourself and those that care about and suppo…

Something like "you're a really great person but I don't think you're right for me, I'm sorry. Traveling is fun and can give you valuable perspective on the world, but it won't give you meaning or purpose. Neither will paperchasing. I'll echo what someone else said: help others, it'll help you. Cultivate the relationships you have that you value. Make new ones. Volunteer your time and help strangers. Maybe consider a career change that you find more meaningful. Just some suggestions, though there is no easy answer.

I just use a proximity rule. If they're close enough, I open the door for them. Man or woman. Why? Because the golden rule. Sometimes people don't say thank you or even give the "man nod" to acknowledge. That's when I say "YOURE WELCOME" loudly. When this happens I lose faith in humanity slightly and am considering doing it your way, OP.

I went recently with a friend and his girlfriend...on the phone half the time. On the way back she's like "what's the name of this place, again?" Gotta make sure everyone on social media knows your every move. Mildly infuriating. But as OP says, fuck it.

Same thing for sugar. Nobody says fruit makes you fat, right? Fruit is very high in sugar, but the fiber content prevents the insulin spike you get poundin' back a mtn dew. Big difference between carbs from a bowl of steel cuts and a sub roll.

Honestly, I can't help but let a couple pretty anti marriage things slip from time to time. You're right, though. If you keep your business close to the vest for the most part, you have the power. If you open yourself up too much, you give up the power. Smart man.

You're being a compassionate professional. That's all. Keep doing the lords work, we appreciate it. My dog actually has an apt with my vet tomorrow morning. The ol' annual "lets see if my boy is riddled with parasites" visit. Always surprised to see that he's fine after a year of drinking still murky water in the woods, eating goose shit, and managing to take a bite of the occasional rotting squirrel carcasse. Amazing constitutions.

Our paths are similar, dude. I'm 31..about to go back to school. Glad to hear things worked out for you. My first go in my teens didn't go well... Too busy chasing puss and partying to handle my business when I was younger. Boy, priorities sure have fucking changed. Looking at the current job market without the right skills is sobering, ain't it?

Agreed on the footwear. Never cheap out on them. Not only more comfortable, last longer, but quality shoes or boots will keep you from fucking up your feet, knees, and back. Everything else though- with the exception of a couple good pairs of Levi's- go cheap. I wear plain hanes tees. They're a few bucks and generally better quality than most brand name shit...and you don't have to be a walking billboard. Works for me.

Narrow your focus. Care for yourself and, if you're lucky enough to have them, those loyal anchor-type people in your life who support you and love you. Sometimes I find if I think about the state of humanity, society, or the planet too broadly and deeply, I get extremely depressed or angry. I then remibd myself that I can't do a damn thing to change anything and I should accept things for the way they are and appreciate what I have, keep working toward my goals, and be grateful. If you narrow y…

There's some good financial advice here. In addition to that stuff: Have some fun, but not at the expense of your long term physical and mental health. The habits you form at 20 set the stage for the rest of your life. Take care of your body, you only get one. Also: be mindful of the company you keep. It may be fun to hang with wild, self destructive people and party, but hanging with healthy, grounded, intelligent people will put you on a path to be a better, more successful, happier person.

Not at all, my friend. I'm sober. Check out "intoxication: life in pursuit of artificial paradise". Written by a renowned psychopharmacologist from the University of California. A large portion of the book is about wild animals seeking intoxicants. This goes against our idea that an animal always puts survival and passing on its genes first. It's fascinating. I'm not trying to condone drug use, simply saying that it is, indeed, natural behavior to occasionally try to alter your consiciousness.

All it takes to become a good cook is some willpower and the desire to do so. It becomes very enjoyable- no longer a chore. Like others said- youtube is a great resource to learn some fundamentals and check out some recipes. The only other thing I can add is- the #1 tool you need is a good, sharp knife. 8 inch chef's knife, to be exact. Practice some knife skills and keep it sharp- a dull knife is actually more dangerous.

Learning to cook is crucial. You can control every last morsel that goes into your body. Going out all the time means you leave that in the hands of others- and they all load up their food with fats and salt. (Because it tastes great and they want you to come back). Good on you, man. I throw on some music and get in the kitchen often. It's definitely an art form, like you said...and it took me listening to some Coltrane while I was cooking to see the similarities. Duuuude, that Chris Hansen line had me rolling. Good on you. Life is too short to be dealing with toxic, phony liars. I don't know how someone could cheat and then come in for that hug and kiss. It seriously rattles me. Also- I must throw a suggestion your way. I have become a big fan of Thich Naht Hanh. If you have an interest in meditation and trying to be more mindful, I really suggest his books. "You are here" and "The miracle of mindfulness" are good places to start.

I noticed this phenomenon when I was in college. People are creatures of habit. They create a pattern after week 2 or 3 and sit in the same seat every class thereafter. Theres always an annoying person or a real cunty girl in class, and I took a lot of pleasure out of showing up a few minutes beforehand and sitting in "their seat". The look on their face when they walked through the door was always priceless. Nobody ever told me to move, though. Maybe I get my jollies in different ways. Hey, tha…

Happy to see you giving NJ some love. We get shit on constantly. Partially deserve it, partially just people who drove on the NJ Turnpike and were like "what a shithole" with no knowledge of how beautiful many parts of the state are.

If you're into hiking, I'd suggest "The devils path" in the Catskills. It's regarded as one of the more challenging hiking trails in the eastern US. I had a great time up there. It's about a 2.5 hour drive from NYC. There are many wood and stone shelters you can camp at throughout the park for free and with no permits or hassles. As someone else suggested, the Adirondaks are a little further in upstate NY and are beautiful. Someone also suggested Acadia national park in Maine. Beautiful rocky co…

Agreed. May be a better look to get a longboard first to cruise and get comfortable on. Not going to be kickflipping one, but still a lot of fun to ride and learn on. Short board later. Get bigger wheels, maybe like 90mm, so you won't bust ass on a little piece of gravel.

I didn't find that figure on a quick search. I did find that from 2000 to 2012, 40% of his businesses failed. I also lived near Atlantic City for years, so I saw first hand a few of his most colossal boondoggles. Maybe that makes me biased, I don't know. There are some pretty conservative estimations that I've seen that show that if he just plopped all his inheritance into index funds and never lifted a finger, he'd be many times wealthier than he is now. Hard to say.

He's a conman and failed businessman. He fooled the public and his rhetoric was well received by his base because we're living in tougher times economically and socially and people are looking for scapegoats and a better life. It really speaks to how poorly educated we are in America and how we lack critical thinking skills. Not to say the alternative was better. Hillary Clinton was a trainwreck, as well. As is the two party system.

No sorries. It's very interesting to consider. Our priorities seem out of whack in many ways when it comes to which occupations we value, when it comes to how we pay workers. I feel like support staff in healthcare across the board is underpaid and overworked. Teachers are grossly underpaid, as well. I make more than public school teachers in many parts of the US and I work with dogs, for fucks sake.
/r/MGTOW23/02/18 09:13 PM

Thanks for the descriptive reply. You've gotta be a superhero to work under those conditions, hats off to you. I'm in the US. I'm not sure if your estimates are accurate regarding numbers of patients an RN is responsible for, but I hear plenty of understaffing complaints from nurses here, as well.
/r/MGTOW23/02/18 04:49 PM

I hear similar stories over and over. Healthcare being profit driven in the states seems to create these problems. On the flip side, the other fella in this thread is in Europe and it looks like a government funded system has its issues, as well.

/r/MGTOW22/02/18 03:00 PM

I'm thinking about going back to school and nursing and this may be the only reason that I am hesitating. I don't mind stress or hard work- I thrive in those conditions. I've witnessed that same trench comradery in past jobs(all male coworkers), and I've also witnessed women breaking under the pressure. If you could go back in time, would you choose another path?

It's a complex issue. The dogs need homes, but a first time dog dad may not have the tools to work with a dog that has its issues. Then again, there are many adult dogs that are sweet that may be just the ticket for a first time owner. I think a pup is a good place to start. Learn about dog psychology, training, etc. Then the potential issues that a shelter dog may come with will be less of an issue and more easily corrected. I always loved beagles. A family friend bred them and took them for rabbit hunts. I ended up not getting one because of their baying. They can be super loud. It's their way of telling you "follow me, I'm on to something". That would be fine if you were in the country or used them for hunts, but could make your life miserable if you loved in a city or a more populated area. If you're not familiar with baying, I suggest you check out a video.

Stay the path, man. It may be difficult at times, but appeasing your parents now will be better for all parties later in life. I regret not doing more to keep a good relationship with my mother...she was very religious as well and I rejected her lifestyle and rebelled when I was under her roof. It created a schism in my family. She died a couple years ago while we were not on speaking terms. I'll never have the chance to make amends. Wait a few years until you are out on your own. Social norms have the capacity to change very rapidly. Online dating was extremely taboo just 10 years ago...now it's the norm. Granted, fucking robots may take a little longer for the public to find acceptable...But you never know. A couple decades of metoo and other movements, sexual harassment witch hunts, false rape claims, etc, and there may just be enough men picking robots to normalize it.

Do you have any idea of what you want to do? If you have a bunch of interests, maybe some good 'ol statistics will help to narrow it down. If you're in the US, the bureau of labor statistics has something called the "occupational outlook handbook". They collect a bunch of information about occupations like average earnings, projected job growth, job descriptions, and what is required to get a specific job. It's a good place to go and get the gears turning if you may not know what direction you'd…

There's isn't a deadline to find self actualization and self worth. You will find it. Happiness cannot come without suffering first...you can't grow a flower without dirt. Perspective is important. Looking to others for validation is natural, but it can be a pitfall, as well. Relationships do not define you. Focus on the present moment, not the past or the future. You'll figure it out at your own pace.

This post is coming from a good place and I appreciate that. I know it's extremely unpopular to mention anything that comes off anti meat...(Don't worry, I eat meat, too. Not trying to turn anyone vegan) ...but, meats and dairy definitely cause inflammation. And meat...especially red meat...is high in cholesterol. Best to limit your intake or eat leaner meats. 30 seconds of research will confirm this.

He's written a million books, but I suggest "you are here" and "the miracle of mindfulness". Both are great introductory books to Buddhist thought, meditation, and living life in the moment.

The autobiography of Malcom X. It's a great read. Really a testament to a man's capacity to learn and grow and make huge changes in his life. He went from a criminal and thug to a civil rights leader...who at first supported the use of violence to achieve his people's goals... then woke up and realized violence solves nothing. Shortly afterward, shot and killed by the same violent organization he left.

In my opinion, asking a women up to your hotel room has sexual implications. If you don't want it, don't go. The whole thing is bullshit. They weren't forced into his room. They weren't kept against their will. They were asked for consent. So so hurtful :'(
