Yes. The point of feminism is to value everyone as human. Women who took care of the kids and home were and are still deserving of as much respect as the women who hold STEM jobs. Women do not need to prove their worth because they do or do not have kids or a family or are not at the top of their career or whatever standard others set for us. The anti-women of society will always move the goal post, but we were and are and always will be deserving. Love your post. Very insightful. I will reflect…

Once I realized how even my friends who were men used so much of my resources, I also cut them off. What my friends who are women and I do for each other: cook when we visit each other; listen and empathize with on another; always there to help if someone needs a ride, errand, watch their child, check on their house, attend important event, etc. Men: There are HVM who do bring a lot to the table, but that’s a deviation from the norm, unlike women who are constantly giving out their services to o…

Because LVM want our validation to come from them. That want to sexualize us but go off when we partake in our own sexuality. They want us to live off their compliments but rally against our self-love. It is all about control and needing them for validation, sexuality, ‘love’, etc. Trying to keep us from being independent of them and relying on ourselves and each other. Tricking us into thinking we need them when they are just baggage. We don’t need them and they know that and they hate that so …

I try to avoid posting links but the video is titled: The Adorkable Misogyny of the Big Bang Theory. Really great critique, especially if watching the show made you feel ‘bad’ without understanding why.

There are times my husband and I have a cultural misunderstanding (raised by parents who grew up outside of the US) that can be initially seen as a yellow flag. We talk it out and realize where the other was coming from. Sometimes, certain ‘things’ can have a different connotation for each of us or the like.

Agreed. What women can only talk about on FDS involving their struggle against misogyny, men can say about women and much worse out in the open. Freely dehumanize us. This is where women are at.

There is a very interesting critic on YT about the Big Bang Theory by Pop Culture Detective that goes into the misogyny of BBT. Interesting watch. Highly recommend.

I have friends and family from across the world. I cannot emphasize enough how untrue it is that women are treated well in the west. For instance: in one country, there is a high expectation for men to financially care for his wife, children and extended family. Compare that to much of the west where women are worked to the bone to provide financially, childcare, household, etc. Men can live as a bum and society doesn’t pressure them to care for their family here. I am actually very curious in w…

Maybe it is because of my family’s background but this is a bit complicated to me. I will first start off by saying that him saying therapy was too expensive when he makes 140K sounds more like 1) a dishonest excuse to ditch therapy and 2) that he does not value therapy (this can spill over into not valuing good communication, feelings, etc.) That coupled with him failing to disclose from the beginning what ‘working through it’ would actually like points to a lack of maturity on his part. As for…

Ah. Yes. The family who looks so perfect on the surface because they have an immaculate, beautiful home and their children are all doctors or engineers. Yet, the family uncle can’t keep his hands to himself and most of the family covers for him. Grandpa will only leave money to the straight children that marry inside their race. The adult children followed their parents dreams in the hopes of receiving some sort of love or validation only to be disappointed yet again. I have found that the immac…

Sounds like he wanted to cross your healthy-eating boundary by disguising the cookies as your birthday gift. He may be just trying to get you to change your eating habits and accept him breaking your boundaries. Why, of all days would he choose something that is against your dietary choices? At the very least: no one should have to ask someone close in their life if they want a gift-especially not your partner. When I was engaged to my now-husband, I made sure he was willing to partake in family gatherings: clean up, decorate, etc. He put up the tree this year and we decorated it together. I did some other tasks while he wrapped presents for our extended family. They need to participate in the family, in the home. A good trait to vet for.

The age gap is a lie. Even in the US in the mid 1800’s, men and women had maybe two years difference on average-if that. They waited until their mid-twenties, as their parents wanted them to be grown and aware of what they were doing. Yes, there were old, rich men marrying young, poorer women, but the family would sometimes reluctantly agree to it to help lift their daughter out of poverty. Even then, society was not exactly warm to the men who did so. In some ways, we are more fucked now than w…

Yes. And men who behave this way will continue to fixate on these specific age ranges. He doesn’t she out of it. If he looks at 18-22 year olds to date, he sees himself fixated at that age. Doesn’t matter if he is 30 or 40 or 50. You will age out of the age he finds attractive. Age fixation is disgusting. The best way to avoid or reduce your chances of ending up with men like this? Don’t date older men.

Amazing messages in this post. As someone who is married to a HVM, if he cheated on me tomorrow, I would walk. I would go live my life happily. Why? Because our lives are about much more than a man. My life is about more than my husband. I am happy with him but he does not make me happy: I make MYSELF happy. My skills and hobbies and causes. I derive joy and purpose from helping other women, donating to women shelters and speaking out against injustice. I have a purpose and intrinsic value-witho…

I focus on content that features fully realized women. One feature of our man-centric society is that we lack enough media with women’s voices. The media we consume that does include women often helps further our dehumanization. To combat this, I have been purposeful about reading books and watching shows and articles written by women about women (avoiding pickme content). On top of that, I minimize the amount of scrote-scrolling I partake in. Together, they have done wonders. Wholly recommend.

My higher expectation is that there is effort, thoughtfulness, related to my wants and interests, etc. Even if a guy is going through college and tight on cash, he can make or do something thoughtful. My HV husband does a variety of thoughtfulness during gift-giving time. Some of the stuff he does: takes me to nice restaurants, buys me jewelry that fits my tastes, custom ordered gifts, flower arrangements, so much more. The cards he gives me are so heartfelt. I have had men and women for roommates. Women were by far easier. We all cleaned up, cooked, made sure everyone was okay with how things were running, quick to resolve issues, etc. The men always treated me like I was their mother: expecting me to do all of the cooking and cleaning and dealing with their temper tantrums. Nope. I haven’t seen an article about living with men vs women, either, but from experience I would definitely say men were a lot of work. Constantly needy and exhausting.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/12/21 01:36 PM

Yes. There are way more HV women than men. This is in large part because of how we are socialized to take on more relationship responsibilities. We are socialized to be more empathetic, nurturing, agreeable, helpful and engage in conflict-resolution, among other attributes.

A large part of the women in society worked. Those who did not were still doing work inside the home. There was virtually no such thing as a woman sitting on her butt. The problem is that jobs traditionally held by women were often overlooked as work (nurses, secretaries, maids, etc). You know that if men were the ones to a stay-at-home parent, that SAHPing would be considered the main working role.

If he was so happy, he would not have waited until the moment you rejoined social media in order to send a friend request. He wants you to think that his life is so great and that you missed out: look at my body, my fitness, my girlfriend, my great life. This could be with you but you are missing out. A guy I rejected repeatedly tried this with me. He showed off every minute he could to let me know I was missing out. Later saw how how fake it all was. You are better off without someone like that…

Yeah. So, LVM feel threatened that they may have to raise their level of effort towards women when they see others treat women well. So, instead of making an effort, they will often call out the person who is treating the women well. Often, they will call them simp, white knight, whipped, etc. They will often pit women against each other to further keep women down. This is difficult. My husband has given me so many amazing gifts. One of my favorites was a beautiful resort where we toured wineries and went on fun excursions. Was stalked at work. I was very young and couldn’t afford to quit. Kept evidence in case he murdered me so they knew who did it. Sick of men trying to ‘own’ women who say no. We have a right to tell men no without men trying to punish us or behave as if a ‘no’ is an act of forfeiting our safety, security or lives. Any man who tries to make women pay for rejecting them are vile.

I think, when we are mistreated, it is helpful to know the difference between how you are being treated and how you should be treated. My husband was asked by his friend to go to a strip club. He was so upset and disgusted that he not only told me about it but had no interest in hanging out the guy again. My husband does not want porn or strippers or sex outside of our relationship. He has no interest in sex without love and intimacy. You deserve better.

HVM will treat women with respect, regardless of whether or not they come off as ‘intimidating’. However, HVM appreciate when women have boundaries and expectations and LVM will often feel like they can get away with less. HVM are attracted to confidence, self-respect and expectations while LVM will often shrink away Sometimes, LVM will try to chip away at it if they see an opening, often calling these standards an ‘ego’ or women ‘being too full of themselves’. It is a tactic to make women lower…

Date for marriage. If you want to date for the intimacy: women in hetero relationships orgasm less than all other groups. Straight men, in general, can be a bit disappointing in bed. The longer you are with someone you care about, the more they can learn-such as a HVM. And someone like that is probably marriage material. If you date a LVM, chances are high that it will be mediocre and he will be selfish at best. I remember so many of my friends being excited to be with a guy. Didn’t understand w…

My husband would plan amazing dates from the beginning to now. We have gone on beautiful vacations that he has put a lot of thought into. This is my point about the ‘on a break’ argument. He immediately sleeps with another woman after he believed that Rachel and him were technically apart during their break. So instead of working on himself, reviewing his relationship or trying to console the woman he loves during the break, he goes and sleeps with the first woman he sees. He is okay with sleeping with another woman he barely knows while his heart belongs to Rachel-just as long as he can get away with it based on technicality.

So, this part is going to speculation and may be something to research and see if they were diagnosed, but: it sounds like you are usually unable to set boundaries with your mom, she tr…

He enjoyed what he could get from you but does not appreciate being asked to reciprocate, to show love and kindness and effort for his partner-though I bet it was given to him. Now his benefits are ending and it is making him bitter, so he is blaming it on you having needs in a relationship, even though everyone does. He may even think that if he can con…

One of my old friend’s is gay. He can’t stand most other men because they do the bare minimum and lack basic hygiene. Most of his friends are women and a few other men who are also gay. His apartment is beautiful, he is very hygienic and well-groomed, he dressed very nicely for dates and he was always going the distance for the person he was dating. You could see a mutual respect between him and whoever he was dating. It really showed me that men know how to behave. Most straight men just don’t …

NVM pull this shit in an effort to devalue a woman of anything he deems valuable or that he fears she might deem valuable about himself. They stupidly think they if they make a woman feel worthless, she will finally be low enough for him to have a chance with her or make sure she doesn’t see herself as good enough to be with a HVM.

She has more experience, is well liked, was praised for her leadership skills but the boss promoted the guy that has been there for a much shorter time, less experience, lazy and doesn’t get along with others. His only positive was being as misogynistic as his boss. This family member also has a crazy old neighbor that the police won’t do anything about-even though he has attacked he…

If only men went as hard on men to not commit horrifying crimes. Interesting how men expect women to be accountable for their own actions as well as the actions of men. Seems like that kind of twisted logic would cause a lot of men to act shitty because they if they get caught they can just push responsibility off on innocent women.

Because society normalizes the mistreatment of women. We grow up being shouted down upon by countless people whenever we try to push back against our mistreatment. One of the most horrifying truths is that most women expect and accept varying levels of mistreatment by men. That women should accept this is reinforced through media, classmates, teachers, family, coworkers and other varying means every single day. I don’t blame women. I blame anyone and anything that sets the stage for the mistreat…

Want to add: Give yourself the space to mourn what happened to you but also be kind to your teenage self and the person you are, now. If you could picture the person you are now going back to your teenage self, I think you would see how young you really were. That you were doing your best. Because women offer so much: improvement in relationship, cleans, cooks, cares for children, acts as the emotional support system, takes care of the social responsibilities, runs errands, take better care of their appearance, makes a bigger effort in the bedroom, etc. Men: pay for our part of the 2/$20 meal deal and then wail that all women are gold digging whores. FDS is largely about avoiding LVM. It sounds like you are starting to dodge them beautifully. Remember: quality not quantity. LVM are going to see you up there shining and are going to want to pull you down with them, hoping to convince you to devalue yourself, to not see your worth so they can manipulate you better. The problem seems to lie with LVM, not with you. “Don’t let the bastards grind you down.”

Reminds me of that video on here the other day basically explaining that men want to be the only source of confidence/validation for women. To add to that: They get angry when we take that power away from them by being confident in ourselves and each other. Men desperately want us to pursue self-worth only through their validation. That way, they can decide how much value we can place on ourselves, hoping to devalue us enough to 1) not feel threatened by us/‘put us in our place’ 2) artificially …

So, this is just something I have noticed but when men are about 2-5 years younger than a woman, they seem to make the best marriages. I have been wondering why this is. One of my best guesses is that you have a better chance of ruling out men who prey on much younger women and you have also ruled out men that fetishize older women. Maybe they are young enough to respect you more. Maybe it is because they are not fixated on being weird about age. Idk. But the best marriages I have seen have come…

In the US and much of the western world, even in say 1850s, the average age at first marriage for men and women was about mid-twenties. The age gap was around 2-3 years. Parents encouraged their children to wait until their mid-twenties in order for their children to have time to mature and have a sound mind of their marriage partner. The age of first marriage did drop in the baby boomer era, especially with the rise of marrying out of high school, but both partners tended to be right out of hig…

What sucks is that law enforcement has more tools to stalk people. Have been sharing a lot more on here, lately, but I want to back this up. My biological father always went after much younger women. He wanted women to be childlike. Was also a child abuser, coincidentally. He was a very abusive man. One of the women he beat and left for dead (she survived and of course he only served a couple of years). I have seen this to a varying extent in other older men who consistently pursue younger women. There is a dark, manipulative undercurrent in these pursuits.

Women’s bodies are made to hold fat. Men’s bodies are not. That’s why it is so much more dangerous for men to hold extra fat and these men often have ED (can’t get it up in the bedroom). When women have curves, I get it. When men have curves, I don’t.

This. Women’s bodies are made to store fat and are better at distributing it. Men’s bodies are better at building muscle and burning fat and are not good at distributing fat. This is why overweight men usually have ‘beer bellies’. Their fat tends to accumulate in one area-and one of the most dangerous areas at that. When men become obese, they are REALLY not trying.

It’s incredibly sad how she has been misled since the beginning. Her life has been painful and troubled. Don’t let people you don’t know well, especially men, know that you were abused or don’t have a support system (if you don’t have one). Abusers and the like will see you as a target. Seriously underplaying his faults while overplaying hers. ‘Kept score of domestic duties’=held him accountable for not doing his share at home, which upset him because it meant he couldn’t be lazy in peace. ‘Didn’t say thank you as often’=she didn’t profusely thank him for loading the dishwasher, even though she does 10x the housework while managing to work and care for the kids. Not that he ever says thank you to her for any of that.

When HV women talk about something heavy, how you respond helps them decide whether or not you are also HV. If you cause them to regret telling you, they know not to pursue a friendship with you. I had a long term friends…

Ever wonder what a bad marriage is like? From what other women tell me, I imagine it like this: imagine you wake up and someone has broken into your home and has taken everything valuable from you. A bad marriage is like that + they destroy your career, drain your bank account, cause you to lose touch with your friends and family. He turns everyone around you against you. Gaslights you. Even your identity, the person you are, is stolen from you. If you have ever been robbed, you know that feelin…

Hollywood is the absolute worst. But in romantic movies aimed at women, they try to make it seem like it is ‘pandering’ to us. However, there is a dark undercurrent. Ducks for peace is so adorable and I love the biweekly influence of politics😂 I wish there was a show or book like this I could watch or read. You draw up some amazing imagery. Guess we‘ll just have to come together and pitch in for the Duck-Sheep small farm community. Imagine a place where we all enjoy, care about and appreciate one another🤭

This is part of the reason married women live shorter lives. It baffles me how men can set such unrealistic standards for women while being so nasty and refusing to do anything around the house.

The phone case😂 Aw. I have a fantasy farm, as well (with ducks, of course), and enough tea for two lifetimes (green tea all the way!). Maybe we all just need a farm to be ourselves, practice peace and love and invite friends over for adventures, sleepovers, and to enjoy the new addition to our loose leaf tea collection. I already have a starter set. When you mentioned witch stuff, I immediately thought of Phoebe, Rachel and Monica performing that bad boyfriend cleansing ritual on Valentine’s Day…

I hope there aren’t women out there who actually feel this way. The only people telling women they have no worth after the age of 30 are middle aged men whose whole career and personality are centered around ‘FeMiniSM is CancEr’. You don’t need to cater to men, especially men like that. They are NVM. Look how many attractive women there are in their 50s and beyond. Even if they weren’t, there is sooo much more to life than being attractive to men. Really. So much more. If you stop basing your va…

Men on Reddit have dozens of subs they can go to and not only talk bad about women, but engage in conversations on how to ‘destroy’ women, encourage violence against women and nothing happens. Women on Reddit advocate for safety of women. We help women recognize and leave abuse. We encourage women to realize their worth, set higher standards when it comes to their partner. For that, we are stalked, harassed, doxed, smeared. Our subreddits are taken down. Imagine what Reddit would do if we tried …

A 40 year old man who fixates on 20 year old women will still fixate on 20 year old women when you are 25 and he is 45. Meaning, you will ‘age out’ of his age fixation. Date men your own age. Much less chance of ending up with a weirdo that needs to keep reliving his frat days by getting with college aged women.

It is difficult going from a place where you tend to everyone else but yourself to recognizing and tending to your own feelings and needs. Some women don’t even know who they are or what they like once they leave a relationship because they have been so consumed by the other person. It sounds like you are in a much better place and are an inspiration for other women. Thank you for sharing. That was very insightful.

Because the way men and women are sold good or services are different. For men: it is often done through encouragement, ‘bro-ing out’ or encouraging masculinity. For women, it is done through shame, negging through subtle and less subtle means. My friend is a lesbian. The way she describes being intimate and the way the men around me describe ‘banging this one chick’ has really helped me understand a disparity between what women do to help their partner in the bedroom vs men. Most men truly do not care about women, especially when it comes to sex. They may do what they feel they have to in order to get what they want, but they do not truly focus on our pleasure. The sad thing is, truly free women raising future generations would help change the world. On the other hand, being completely unshackled from, dependent on, men would help set an example for girls and younger women. I do. What I am saying is that both boys and girls should be encouraged to do what is seen as traditionally feminine or masculine. The point of feminism is to give women choices. To see women as equal to men regardless of their job or appearance, etc. If we see women as being equal only when they dress masculine or take on masculine roles or job titles, we are saying that women have worth WHEN they reject femininity. Women tend to be cleaner, tidier people whereas men have a learned helplessness when it comes to caring for themselves, their home and others. On point. The relationship male society has with women is one of control, abuse, degradation, humiliation, domination. And they want there to be some challenge in it. But when a woman takes back control of her own narrative-celebrates her mind, her body and her choices-sees her own worth, she is becoming too humanized. She is effectively winning the game in the eyes of men simply by refusing to be party to the bs, and society tries to push back. But the more we realize our value and self-worth t…

This is why it is best to avoid older men, especially those that date younger women. Men that go after younger women are fixating on a certain age range and when the women “age out” he will either cheat, leave or make the marriage so unbearable that the women dip out. If you date a guy your own age, the chances are much better that he is not fixating on a certain age range. You are too good to be dating a man your father’s age.

Conversely, women are FAR less likely to leave if their spouse is sick. What does that mean? Even if there were huge problems in the relationship and the woman was planning on leaving, she had too much compassion for her spouse to do so when they need help. Men leave when become to sick to tend to their every need and it is your turn to ask for help. Men are NOT your knight in shining armor.
