I'm always shocked to find that some grown men actually believe that woman naturally smell good and have zero hair. So not only do we have to put in all the work, it doesn't even get acknowledged.

See there's no way that the wall exists for women and doesn't exist for men, it's complete bullshit.

Women spend so much money probably most of their life trying to look good and look after their skin and hair and body yet some men can't be bothered to wash themselves! It's so logical that women then are the ones that are fat and ugly and undateable at 30 years old

Because the way men and women are sold good or services are different.

For men: it is often done through encouragement, ‘bro-ing out’ or encouraging masculinity.

For women, it is done through shame, negging through subtle and less subtle means. This includes having the goods or services presented by someone in a position of authority or someone who knows better than you do.

Story as old as time.... perpetuated by patriarchy... because men=good, women=bad.

And as you can see, even the disgusting things about them, such as body odours are seen as good, while on a woman it is a sign of uncleanliness.

DO not get me started on periods!

And what about men who say: hair is unhygienic... when they have 80% of their bodies covered in thick hair? hm? it amazes me how they always forget about that!

It's amusing how the few skincare/hygiene products out there made for men have to scream masculinity in their packaging.

"DUDE WIPES" (Unscented!! Because having your ass smell good is apparently relegated to only women)

And any kind of moisturizer or facial wash^FOR ^MEN is packaged in black or gun-metal gray because it is MANLY, dammit! So masculine and manly, wow! You sir may give a shit about basic skincare but don't worry you are still a MAN! 🚜🚀💪🏄‍♂️♂️🛠

Masculinity is more fragile than a wet wipe.

Am I the only one that prefers smoother men? I'm fine with leg hair, trimmed pubic hair, and light hair on the rest of the body, but when they look like a yeti on the chest, back and butt, it's a turn off.

The amount of guys I’ve talked to who didn’t know about skincare is insane. They use fucking bar soap or body wash on their faces. I try to explain how this is terrible for their face and 9 times out of 10 they just don’t give a fuck. They actually just make fun of me instead. Like bro, this is why I constantly get confused for being 8 years younger than I am, but you want to make fun of me, you’re the clown. I know in 10 years it’ll be showing so I don’t even let it bother me. Time will catch up to them.

I hate the way cosmetics and hygiene equipment is marketed in a sexist way. That said, I really disagree with the idea that we should sink the men’s level. I personally like hairless, sweet-smelling, well-groomed, well-dressed people. I do that for myself because I enjoy it, and I expect the men in my life to be held to the same standard. Very few men pass this test.

My first boyfriend literally traumatized me. I would literally cry and bawl because he never washed his face and I bought him skincare routine stuff so he could fucking wash his face. When I broke up with him after a year he negged me saying his next gf gave him bjs and I didn’t. Like, I wish I left earlier or I wish I never got with him in the first place but I physically couldn’t because he was homeless and would always appeal to my guilt. Like... men are fucking gross. Like washing the face benefits THEM

After him, I realized most men are fucking garbage and just because they’re ugly does not mean they have exceptional personality... I really wish I was not heterosexual

I work with what I thought was an amazing young man (early 20s). Kind, very intelligent, doesn't watch porn which is unheard of in his age group, provides for his girlfriend, always willing to help me out at work...

Because we've been social distancing for a year, I've never stood right next to him. Except accidentally a few weeks back. Dude literally smells like actual shit. Literally.

Thank you for mentioning the double standard on hair! I realized that I grew up having NO IDEA what natural women's body hair looked like. My mom, aunts, and even grandmas have been shaving/waxing since puberty, and every female celebrity, politician, character on tv (even cartoons!) have totally hairless legs and under arms. 51% of the population pressured into removing their body hair from puberty till DEATH. RIDICULOUS!

I didn't even know what MY body hair looked like at full length since I would shave it off before it got more than a few mm long!

It's ridiculous that a passive state--not shaving--is so reviled for women. If a man has an unkept beard it's just a lazy day, but if a woman has hair on her arm pits she's the gossip of the whole town! Just let us exist!
