Thanks! I'll look it up.

That's a good point. I see it working on YouTube videos like AngryPicnic's channel, but he's been doing that for years and is in good shape. With my job (I deliver food for carrots restaurants around town), I get to interact with the restaurant staff pretty frequently. That's where I met the one girl who seemed to want to go out but had to cancel because of finals. I also joined Tinder, mostly for kicks and giggles. I really don't want to meet anyone via online dating (chatting up a cute strange…

Oh I do, I just haven't had a girl say that to me before.

This has been my experience. I just moved towns a month ago, and I've felt a ton of energy and talked to more women than I did in the past year in my old town. I hope this vigor never fades.

Man, I wish a girl would tell me that, lol. But seriously, eye contact is no joke. People love strong eye contact.

I don't think thinking you're awesome is the problem. My brother has been telling himself that since middle school (I found his diary), and he's one of the most charming, charismatic people I know. Everybody loves him, and everything he tries works. It's really annoying, lol. But the thing is, you don't want to be a jackass about it. If you do, you'll push people away. It also reveals insecurity on your part.

Thank you! This is what I needed to hear. I've been having the same issue as OP. I want to go out with this girl, but after rescheduling on me (she still seemed really interested), she's disappeared. I'm trying to be causal and wait for her, but it's frustrating.

Yeah, I don't have quite that much of a connection with this girl. But it did just occur to me that it's almost the end of the semester, so finals are a legitimate excuse. I've only been out of college for two years, and I already feel so out of the loop, lol. Some might say I should look for women closer to my age (mid-20s), but I don't care for bars and don't know where else to go. Anyway regarding this girl, it'd be great if I'd see her at work again because I'm at her restaurant basically ev…

Personally, I find that it all became easier once I mastered eye contact. As long as I'm focused (i.e., not daydreaming), I try to make/hold eye contact with everyone I can. If I pass them on the street, or they're working at a restaurant I visit, then I try to hold eye contact and be the last to break. Smiling also helps to break the tension, especially if you smile with your eyes. That's not exactly flirting, but the more you do it, the more confident you'll feel. Very few strangers intimidate…

Great advice! I never would've considered that.

There could be a variety of reasons why you haven't asked her out before now, and it's not really her business to know why.
/r/seduction22/04/16 02:40 AM

That's a good point. I know you're not supposed to apologize for your behavior (unless you hurt her or something), but in this case I wasn't sure.
/r/seduction21/04/16 05:11 PM

Thank you, that seems reasonable. Is it worth trying to jokingly explain that I'm not a stalker and was just confused on what she said? I know we'll cross paths with some frequency.
/r/seduction21/04/16 12:33 PM
1

Correct. I don't know if she has one, but she said she walks to work. I'm guessing that she doesn't have one because she lives so close to campus and her job.

I like it. That's much more comfortable to me than simply walking up and offering a compliment. I've started dozens of conversations by commenting on the surroundings. That was a good movie, by the way.
/r/seduction19/04/16 12:33 AM

Thanks! She said she doesn't work on Monday, but I work all day Tuesday so I'm sure I'll see her prior to the date.
/r/seduction18/04/16 01:32 PM

Yeah I know, I was so shocked I didn't think about it. But her restaurant is one of the most popular that we service, so I'll definitely see her prior to the date.

I've tried that before, or something like it. It's so simple, but for some reason I usually freeze at that step.
/r/seduction15/04/16 02:34 AM
1

I'm gonna try that. One place where I freeze is compliments. Obviously I don't want to fake them, but even genuine compliments are uncomfortable for me. I'd like to try to compliment at least one woman a day for some innocuous reason so when I'm talking to a girl I like, it won't be so hard. I think I need to figure out how to display interest beyond just friendly curiosity.

That's not actually my goal. I know I'm an outlier, but I want to save intimacy for marriage. I'm in this subreddit for help with courage and charm. I've had one time where things got pretty sexual, and I'd rather not repeat that until I get married. Don't get me wrong—I want sex as much as the next guy. This is a self-imposed restraint sure to higher moral convictions. All the same, I do need to know how to escalate things enough to enter into a relationship at all. That's where I'm coming up s…

Thank you. I guess I'm just very analytical in nature, so that's how i look at this. You're right when you say it's fear. I don't want to admit it, but it's definitely fear that holds me back. Like I said, I have no problem holding a conversation with just about anyone, but when it comes to asking to continue at a later date, I lose my nerve.

I'm right there with you, man. I'm not that short (5'10"), but I've struggled with my weight since college. I'm not trying to discount your struggles, I'm just saying don't lose hope. Everyone has a different standard of beauty and different things that are important to them. One of these days, you'll meet a girl who will give you a chance.

How would we know? We don't know you. But it's just a quick turn of words to go from "Why would she like me?" to "She wouldn't like me." Then you're back where you are now, single and alone and bitter. Don't even think about what she might think of you. That's on her hands, not yours. Rather, try to decide if YOU like HER. Make HER the one who has to prove herself to you. Don't be a jackass about it, but confidence is being grounded enough in yourself to ignore yourself and focus on others. Ask …

I have friends shorter than that. They aren't necessarily ugly, but they're more lookers either. They've all, at various times, had success with women. I don't think it's you, I think it's the girls you're approaching. Some women really don't care as much.
/r/seduction14/04/16 12:19 AM
1

I also think most people are so wrapped up in their own worlds that they don't even notice what's going on in someone else's world. That gives me a thought. In the realm of approaching women, I think noticing her and breaking into her world is what creates that connection. She's just as self-conscious and insecure as you are, so when you approach her and are warm and inviting (with good eye contact), you are doing her a favor by pulling her out of herself and validating her worth.

Exactly. One semester in college, I befriended and briefly dated a cute Chinese exchange student. At some point she commented on how strange it was that I always looked up and made eye contact with people. This was looking before I even knew anything about alpha behavior (and I was very beta at the time). After that comment, I made it my goal to train her to look people in the eye rather than watch the ground. While we don't have much contact anymore, I know she's become a social butterfly and d…

The eyes are the windows to the soul. If you have difficulties maintaining eye contact, it betrays insecurity on your part. When you can maintain strong eye contact with others, it tells them that you're confident in yourself. Eye contact is a primal way to indicate social status. The higher your social position, the more dominating your eye contact generally will be. While this is generally true naturally (think of Donald Trump), it can be "faked" in order to appear more confident than you real…

When I started holding good eye contact and smiling out in public, people noticed. Store employees were quicker to offer assistance. Random strangers just tended to be nicer to me. I wouldn't call it manipulation; people just like confidence.
/r/seduction09/04/16 11:47 AM

I think you'll find it gets easier as you go along. When I first started doing this for myself, it was awkward at first, but then I noticed that people began to respect me more, especially random strangers and people like store clerks. They're just friendlier somehow. I think you'll find your experiment enjoyable.

That's what I mean, though. How do I game her? I really have no idea what I'm doing. Would she responds better to another direct approach, or should I backtrack a bit since as coworkers we'll hopefully get to know each other through work anyway?
/r/seduction06/04/16 09:28 PM

He just means that maintaining the status quo won't win her over. By moving on, you're making yourself free to pursue other interests. But also, she may suddenly miss the attention and give you another shot.

For me, it really waxes and wanes almost for no reason. It helps if I'm in a good mood or have had a ton of caffeine. I should also state that I'm a bigger guy (26) who's struggled with losing weight for years. For me, it just kind of "happens" that I'll get bouts of courage. I think once you approach once, it gets easier the next time. But so far I haven't had any success; it's just kind of fun simply talking to them. I will say, the times that I've had the guts to approach, I didn't put much t…

I'm not sure what kind of machine he uses. He just said he's been going to a gym. And he's been more lean in the past, with a bit of flab in the midline. I think what he said makes sense. I mean I rarely work out, so I don't really know for sure, but just running through the mechanics of the row in my mind I think it utilizes a lot of muscle groups, especially the way he alters it. It probably can't really work much on your chest, and I'm sure there are other muscles it neglects, but it does see…

He does 10 minutes of underhand chest curls (or whatever you call it on a row machine), 10 minutes of underhand overhead pulls, then 10 overhand chest curls, and finally 10 minutes of overhand overhead pulls. He started with five minutes of each, and he increases each by a minute every few times he goes.

My uncle got huge doing nothing but the row machine. He varies the grip and movement some, but he just does that machine for about 40 minutes straight. Once I join a gym, I'm using his plan.

Sometimes I wonder why I'm in this subreddit, except that I appreciate any boost in confidence I can get. But I appreciate your post. I would be devastated if a girl did this to me. In fact, one did it to be back in college, and it wrecked me for a long time. Another did it more recently, but I knew about it and tried to fight to prove myself to her. Totally not worth it, and now I have big trust issues with women. I appreciate the concern you have for these guys.

Get married. Get laid every day if you want by the most amazing woman you'll ever know, and if you treat her well you'll never have to worry about your standing with her.

If I see her again, I'll certainly do that. I'm moving soon, though, so I doubt I will. I just wanted to go out once.

I'm actually moving in a week, but otherwise I would've tried more. I just thought it'd be fun to go out on one date.

Haha well I'm committed to abstinence until marriage. I'm here on seddit to gain confidence, not to get laid.

Well I did see her again, and I did get more time to talk with her. She's really friendly, and she thanked me for asking her out. I don't know why she wasn't interested, but at least we ended the night on a good note.

As an introvert myself, I'm trying to beat this into my head. I've had a few days of clarity, but most of the time I just have no energy for these interactions and throw in the towel. It's a pattern I hate about myself, but so far I haven't been able to break. You have a lot of good pointers here. I need to review this post the next time I think I may want to try again.
/r/seduction05/03/16 08:32 PM

I know you think getting laid will be easier, and really it is, but I think you'll be a lot happier in the long run if you actually try to pursue a relationship. You don't want your first time to be with some random girl you'll never see again.
/r/seduction02/03/16 04:14 PM

That's half true. Our gender is determined at conception because we're either XX or XY the moment sperm and egg unite. But it is true that for the first few weeks, our bodies develop along the same path until the sex hormones kick in and cause us to differentiate.

Say you don't have that common interest, at least that you can see right off the bat. Is there any luck in just asking her out for coffee? I have my eye on a certain girl who works at my brother's school, so I don't want to blow it.

I think I was actually a bit quick on the draw there with my reply. I've struggled with weight for pretty much all of college, and I still have about 45 pounds to lose to get back to my ideal weight. Energy drinks and soda played a role in that, but if I'm gonna be honest with myself, it was more my eating and physical habits. Since reading your comment, I decided to indulge on the occasional pick-me-up energy drink. It's probably a bad idea for my health, but you're absolutely right on the burs…

With my job as a postman, I probably could have. If she told her parents and her parents freaked out, then the postmaster would know who I was by what address it was even if the girl didn't know my name (which in this case she didn't). But this girl responded very well, thankfully. She broke into a huge grin, looked very sheepish, bit her lip, and seemed very flattered if not downright interested. I couldn't have asked for a better response except that next time the girl be older.

I tried that last week, really for the first time. She was really cute and seemed genuinely interested. But then came the words, "Sorry, but I'm only fifteen." That was awkward! Good for you for not caring, though. Getting past that hurdle of worrying about results is maybe the hardest part for me.

Personal opinion, I just turned 26 and wouldn't have a problem dating a 19-year-old. My brother-in-law was my age when he started dating my sister, who was 19, and obviously now they're married. Seven years isn't too far of a gap if she is mature enough, which is something you should be able to determine from a few conversations. The last girl I tried asking out (on the street while at work (mailman)) was only 15. Now THAT was embarrassing. Girls look too dang old nowadays. If you're looking for…

This is about all I'm comfortable with right now. I haven't figured out how to go from chatting to asking her out. I have no problem with small talk, I just don't know how to jump from casual conversation to flirting to asking for a phone number.

For me it's all about the weather. When the sun is shining (doesn't really matter what the temperature is), I can have high levels of charisma. But on days like today that are gross and overcast, I feel like I'm sleepwalking.

They're not lying when they say Red Bull gives you wings, but what they don't tell you is that it also can kill you. As someone who used to drink an energy drink or mountain Dew every day, I want to warn you how unhealthy that it. The temporary buzz isn't worth the long term damage it'll cause.

I agree. My dad's aunt got married when she was 14. I see no problem in that, except that no teenagers today have the maturity to be married. Thanks, man! I gotta be more discerning in the future, though, lol. Between having younger friends at church and growing up with younger sisters always having friends over, I just tend not to notice age too much.

Actually ironically I did ask a girl out today. First time ever approaching a stranger like that. Unfortunately she was underage, but she seemed genuinely flattered. I think she definitely would have said yes to a date if she'd been older.

I am super shy and introverted. I have a paralyzing fear of approaching women. I hate it, and I know it's irrational. How do you get past that?

I highly recommend setting a network chiropractor. You go in a few times a week, and over time your kinks straighten out. It's amazing for your confidence as well because all that tightness in your neck and back will be gone. Computer neck is bad, but if you have it then you probably have a ton of other problems.

Brother, you're not alone. I'll be 26 in a week, and I haven't dated anyone in almost two years. None of my relationships have lasted longer than a few months (sometimes my fault, sometimes theirs). I'm pretty overweight, though I have lost nearly 40 pounds in the last few months. But I have severe anxiety regarding women, at least in the way of asking them out.I actually have huge respect for you. Don't let this rejection get you down.
