I've posted here a number of times in the last few months asking questions relating to my lack of confidence and utter inexperience with women. Well tonight went right, so here's my success story. Thank you all for the encouragement and advice!

So I work for a company that delivers food from restaurants in a fashion similar to Uber. At a particular restaurant, there was a girl at the register I've seen a dozen times and thought was really cute. I've chatted with her before, but never had the nerve to flirt or ask her out.

Tonight, though, we had a few moments longer to talk than usual, and she seemed to enjoy talking to me. So I told myself that if I had to deliver another order from that restaurant again, I'd ask her out.

Well site enough, I did. As I was waiting in the very long line to order, she came out and started wiping down tables. She actually passed by me and made a passing reference to our conversation earlier (mind you, several hours had gone by between orders). Encouraged by her initiating that exchange with me, I decided to ask.

After she rung me out on the register, I asked, very simply, "Would you like to grab dinner with me after work?" She said, "No, I'm sorry, I've got to study for a test. But I'm free after work on Tuesday."

Just like that, we have a date. I was so shocked, I nearly forgot to ask her name. I could hardly walk through the restaurant and out the door, and it took ten minutes for my heart to settle down.

I didn't get her number, but I think I'm hindsight that's a good thing. I don't want to text her between now and then and make her reconsider, and I know I'll see her on Tuesday prior to our date to discuss plans.

Thank you again for all the advice and encouragement. I've learned so much from reading posts here, and I've noticed a dramatic increase in my confidence levels in the past few months. I can hardly wait till Tuesday.
