A few days ago, i posted about my first successful attempt at asking a girl out. To recap, on Sunday I made eyes with a beautiful girl at a restaurant whence I deliver. We chatted for a few minutes. When I returned, she enthusiastically picked up the conversation from a few hours prior. After I paid, I asked her out for dinner. She said she couldn't that night because she had to study for a test on Monday, but she was free after work on Tuesday.

Tuesday rolled around, and I went back in to see her between orders because I'd forgotten to get her number. Once again, she seemed very happy to see me, but she said while they close at 10 (also when I got off), she couldn't leave till midnight because she had to stay and clean.

I took that to mean, "I'm not free until midnight."

I don't usually do much on Tuesdays after work, so it was no problem for me to push back my plans for the date (a picnic in the park by the river) by two hours. So when midnight rolled around, I drove to her workplace to pick her up. Before she walked out the door, she texted me, "Sorry, I couldn't get out early." I replied, "I noticed. :-P"

When she walked outside, I got out of my car, called her name, walked over, and gave her a hug. She seemed surprised to see me, but said she looked horrible (she did look like she'd taken a bath in the dish sink), and that she had class at 8am. I was too alarmed to realize I'd just misunderstood her when she said she got out at midnight.

She said she'd text me when she's free—maybe Thursday, but she has finals next week.

So was this runaround a shit test, or was it my fault for not making better plans? At this point my misunderstanding could be seen as creepy, making future plans unlikely. I will see her plenty of times again through the course of my working at my job, because her restaurant is a popular choice.

I know better than to text her now. I'll wait until she texts me, if she texts me, and I won't be wordy. I don't have a lot invested in her, so really I don't care about the outcome, but she's the most stunning girl I've ever asked out, so I don't want to ruin my chance.
