I'm not sure if no fault or not. Its complicated by her personality disorder (prob cluster B/BPD). Eating disorder, anxiety, anti-social, etc with at times questionable treatment of the children. I've paid for almost everything and raised the kids solo for the past 2 years myself and before that, probably 80-90% of the time.

Considering -- she has not had an affair. She hasn't left the house in over 2 years. Has an eating disorder/anxiety/antisocial/depression/OCD -- doesn't deal with the kids really (its minimal and usually only because I force her to do anything). Hired a lawyer and then got cold feet.

I certainly am. I stress very much about housing as well.. With the way the local market is. Can't afford to move, but not sure I can afford to buy her out either without crippling my retirement accounts. And my neighbors have become my best friends over the past 2 years to myself and my kids. Last 2 years would have been untenable without them in our lives.

Something Im trying to learnthrough therapy, but still trying to work on. Take care of you. Ignore the noise, ignore her. But our spouses sound similar.

Like many others on here, your STBXW sounds a like lot mine. Though less with the counseling. Prob borderline personality D/O.. OCD, severe anxiety, antisocial, depression, etc. Married 10 years, 2 kids. Pretty much hitting that point. In a period of calm right now, but like many other days, its me with the kids alone.

Sounds familiar... My wife (if I can get my act together, STBX?), is always creating issues (partly because I think she's a Cluster B personality Disorder/Borderline Personality Disorder) and she's hypersensitive to everything. If my mother says 1 thing (real or not), my wife makes it sound like she was with her all day berating her. Sounds like we have similar interactions with our spouses now. Not much to talk about anymore (among her many many many issues, one is that she's become antisocial)…

Similar frustrations... Wife spends ~$500-750/month on itunes and always signs up for 2nd account for multiple streaming services. Spends a lot on beauty creams/products, yet never leaves the house. Doesn't go food shopping anymore, gets delivery from grocery store all the time. Sometimes for 1-2 items per day... Probably spent $250 on tips alone. Hoping no shipping charges on each order... All spending is for herself. Doesn't really buy anything for the kids or me (other than the annual birthda…

Thanks. Will be pushing for primary custody on my children as my wife has done nothing with the children for the past years (and only on my forcing her, has begun to take the kids to school when I work overnights.... though 1/2 the time she only takes 1 child in and says I need to take the other one in -- they have schools 5 mins apart, but refuses to wait wait the 10 mins for 2nd child's pre-school to open). Other than that, she really doesn't do much with the children. She likes to "oversee/di…

Mind if I ask about spousal support (if any?) and how that played out?

My understanding is that in Texas they cap calculation at a net income of $9200 a month and then use 20% for 1 child, 25% for 2, etc. I haven't gone through it yet, so I may be mistaken.

This gives me anxiety ... in Texas. Child support is capped at 25% of net $9200 a month ($2350?) but I guess it depends if she gets primary custody/household.... I'm concerned about spousal support (she works, owns her own business with my support (billing, invoicing, contracts, etc). She'll have 7 digits upon separation between her inheritance and splitting of our mutual assets.

Thinking back, think the signs of what she is now were there. Just didn't recognize it. What were perceived as white lies. Her reactions to events, people, etc.

Doubly triggered by this ... Wife has probably spent thousands on House Hunter episodes on iTunes.... On top of every streaming option she double signs up for ... (we get free HBO Max with our att internet... yet she signs up for HBO Max on iTunes for $15? a month). Same for netflix, amazon prime, etc.... 2nd is all the home renovations as well. 1st home -- re did our back patio because she didn't like the way the water drained (it was in the desert...). Spent $9k on ripping it out, her giving m…

Still struggling with it. Tried to talk to her about why its hard to connect with her (her life revolves around streaming tv and exercise). She got upset. Then I heard about a local couple we know, where she filed for divorce and husband is now blocked from seeing his kids until its all over.... Got my anxiety level up 1000%.... Our daughters are friends.. she was at her birthday party last weekend ....

I am trying to get myself prepared. It is difficult. But I record notes and try and record audio when I can (allowed as long as I'm on the recording per my understand).

Yeah. I was out socialized with our neighbors for the past 2 hours, kids playing with neighbors. Wife spent the last 3 hours up on the treadmill. And to get her outside walk and not deal with people, she just got in the car and drove away instead of having to interact with people. instances like this remind me of why. But as you said, she has her lucid moments too. Usually in the evenings when kids are asleep or supposed to be asleep. Felt mixed emotions as well. Picked up the amazon package of …

I have anxiety about this issue. I live 10 mins from my family. I like the house more. I am the breadwinner and work from home. I also take care of the kids almost exclusively. Wife has several issues, first being that she never leaves the home now (2 years) and exercises excessively. She can't break routine. I don't want to abandon the home and I don't feel like she is capable of raising the kids. But I'm also to the point where I don't want to be around her anymore. I work to the early morning…

Signed with a lawyer today. Kids are 8 and 5. Been living with emotional abuse for awhile. Wife has been a mostly absent mother for our whole marriage, especially the past 2 years with covid. I feel like I've raised them myself, especially my 5 year old. Had been thinking about it for awhile. Very passive on the decision, but felt like she crossed a line yesterday when she lost her temper with my 5 year old for him eating one "her" snacks... Son said she had hit him (wish I had video of it). I'v…

Thanks. Not sure how much I can prove on that front, was probably using an out of date and since lost Quicken data set. Though assets was probably ~60k me to -20k on her (cc debt). But I don't think I have access to anything anymore to prove it. I have limited data starting via mint about 6 months after we got married...

Thanks. I'm trying to get that info now. Tried to go back and research credit card debt I paid for her when we got married (only have some partial record of it on mint.com). Have values/debts of our home and cars. I keep track of everything (maybe too much). Mind explaining more about common payments? I pay the mortgage, insurance, utility bills, cell, tv/internet, credit cards, etc. She's made some money the past few years, but have used whatever "income" she's made to max out our retirement sa…

Yeah, its not to hide it. Assume she's getting half of what we got right now. Just to protect it from being spent. Might cancel a few cards as well and keep cards where I can cap her spending (if ok'd by the lawyer -- i.e. american express can limit spending on her specific card to whatever limit I decide). On same vain, need to see if she has any other cards I don't know about (like a limited credit card or macys credit card).

Thanks. Started therapy for myself today and looking into therapy for my children soon. My kids know something isn't right. Maybe not fully, but they are afraid to interact with her because she gets angry and punishes them. Son refused to hug her last night.

Thanks. Will look to pull the credit reports. I've had a separate checking account myself for a bit now (side work). So have had money set aside to that account for awhile now. And some accounts are solely in my name only (her as beneficiary) for retirement, etc. Would have to change payment into other account or setup a new one for future paychecks just to make the 1099 work less messy.

Texas has no alimony if less than 10 years married unless there is a reason for it. Child support limitations based on net earnings. I think if 50/50 on children, then limits CS payments. Worth consulting a lawyer on for your specific situation.

Thanks for the encouraging words and glad things have worked out for you. My wife kept on saying that she was worth it. And that she finally dragged us out of these shit places. I was working all the time plus being a father to my kids. Exhausted many times. I would work till 1 or 2 am Friday night then get up the next morning to take my daughter to ballet by 9 am. Usually in tow with our infant son. Wife couldn't wake up in time to get ready.... if I just took my daughter, wife was calling and …

Thanks. In between states. Just moved back to Texas ( friendlier ) than where we left ( NC ). I've told her she can leave, but not with the kids. Spoken to attorneys in both states, NC said to move to TX ASAP. Just a jurisdiction issue now until residency obtained here She'll go broke without me.
