Starting my divorce journeyOn the same boat but only silver lining (v don’t have kids) if i want to look that way. Been focusing on myself and figuring out what needs to be done practically while handling emotionally the best I can (been going to therapy or u can talk to someone u trust). We r all human and we have one life to live given u and ur wife seem to b in good terms (like mine) just make it as smooth as possible and clearly talk things out. I’m sure u still care for her but it doesn’t mean to burn yourself to kee… | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/02/26 07:21 PM
Questions on moving forward in an amicable divorceWe have no kids. No she hasn’t initiated anything and we have both signed nothing yet. | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/02/26 04:49 PM
Questions on moving forward in an amicable divorceAtleast right now seems to indicate that she wants it temporarily. So hoping for both r sakes that’s not the case. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/02/26 06:48 PM
53M. Married 26 years. Found out she never really loved me. Trying to understand how I stayed.I’m having the same retrospection as well after my 17 year marriage seems to be coming to an end. She has closed off any communication regarding the reasons so i was left to think why ‘I’ stayed. And the simple answer was fear. Fear of being alone, fear of abandoning her, fear of what my family would think, fear of her future…but at the end when she decided…i lost my identity and what am i now and if she ever truly loved me. One thing’s for certain we came together when we both had the same fear… | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/02/26 09:59 PM
isteri ungkalListen to her without judgment. Truly understand what and the why. Suggest if she’s open to counseling (individual or a couple) Try to be civil with each other and if possible away from the kids. If both parties are willing to work on an amicable path forward great if not, unfortunately you need to discuss separation/divorce as not only it’s unhealthy for both of you but also for the kids. Good luck. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/02/26 04:59 PM
Retrospection post divorceKeep trying eventhough seems like the odds are against you. Even little steps. I understand how you feel. But just keep moving forward. | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/02/26 04:11 PM
Do you ever feel more lonely around people than when you’re alone? All the time. And currently in the process of separation…divorce and becoming more convinced that being alone is probably the way to go. Been working on myself and I hope not to close my heart to experiences or other people but right now that’s how i feel. So i understand where u r right now. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/02/26 06:00 PM
What do you all do when you don’t have a support system?Hi i’m in the same boat as @Galarga. I feel i was more invested in making this right more than her. But i now understand that i was blindsided and maybe didn’t see or in a lot of cases ignored the signs. But it is what it is and I have no one to share. Is there a way to create a reddit subgroup with all of us in it? I would love to join and support each other as we go through this challenging time in our lives. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/01/26 05:50 PM
Make sure your marriage is over before you start pursuing a divorce. Can you elaborate on what makes you say that? My wife has completely quiet on what she wants. I even explicitly asked if she wants a divorce and she said ‘She doesn’t know’. All she wants is to move out. I feel I might never get an answer and have to take certain next steps. Hard to decipher if the other party doesn’t provide clarity 😢 | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/01/26 02:17 AM
Not sure what I’m supposed to doYes not forcing her just want to give her space. I just want her to be honest however brutal it might be but she seems to not want to talk about those issue at all. So it keeps me unbalanced as to what she truly wants. But i might be at a point even if she does come back i will keep wondering if she is doing for the right reasons. The window for her to reconcile is gone a long while ago 😔. | /r/Divorce_Men | 09/01/26 02:39 AM
Not sure what I’m supposed to doIn all honesty she is not a big spender and she has worked hard in her own way for us. I explicitly asked her to tell me if she has someone else but knowing her I don’t think she does (i hope im not wrong). But in a lot of ways I didn’t give freedom for her partly because she would start something and then give up on it. In some ways I’m happy she is standing up for herself but I didn’t expect it will be at the cost of r marriage. But an attorney has been on my mind for a while so will probably … | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/01/26 11:27 PM
